Bummer News for Preppy Girls: Kate Spade Saturday Is Shuttering All Stores

Farewell, not-so-old friend.

Right on the heels of C. Wonder's announcement earlier this month, Kate Spade Saturday will close all 19 stores during the first half of 2015.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the company pulled the plug after several quarters of weak sales and heavy promotions. The two-year-old brand will still have its own label and merchandise, however, which will be sold at Kate Spade New York locations and on its e-commerce site.

So long, chunky sunglasses and structured bags ordered from those digital window shops. It's a tough world out there for fun, kitschy brands.
