Heidi Klum and Michael Kors, whose names are forever linked thanks to "Project Runway" (Season 6 premieres on Lifetime on August 20), are taking their friendship beyond the catwalk in the name of charity.

The German supermodel and the jet-set American designer have been tapped by Saks Fifth Avenue and The Breast Cancer Research Foundation for the 2009 edition of the Key to the Cure campaign—the former will serve as ambassador while the latter created a limited edition T-shirt benefiting the cause.

In support of Key to the Cure, Klum will appear in a national public service announcement (PSA) wearing the Kors-designed T-shirt, which will retail for $40 at Saks stores, Saks OFF 5TH stores and on Saks.com and be available starting October 1.

A portion of the proceeds from each shirt sold will be donated to local charity partners.

Saks' charity shopping weekend will take place October 15 to 18 at all Saks stores nationwide, all Saks OFF 5TH stores and at Saks.com. Saks will donate two percent of sales up to $250,000 from the shopping weekend to local and national women's cancer organizations and research centers. Saks will also make an additional donation of $500,000 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

In the 11 years since the inception of the Saks charity shopping weekend, the company, together with its vendors and partners, has raised more than $32 million for cancer research.
