Fashion Week may be over, but I can't stop thinking about the Chloe show in Paris. The entire show exuded a modern day Katherine Hepburn-meets-Annie Hall feel. The tailored menswear looks, the structured button-downs and belted, high-waisted pants all left me with the iconic photo of Hepburn lounging glamorously on a couch in her suit. The color palette at Chloe, like many other shows this season, was beige—very beige. It seems that this fall the mixing of neutrals will most certainly be a big trend.
What I loved most about the show was the structure in the pieces. Let's face it: Every curvy girl needs structured pieces in her wardrobe. Sadly, it is rare to find high-quality structured pieces in sizes upwards of 12 or 14, let alone size 20. The key here is to start looking now! Many girls ask why I bother with the shows, knowing that nothing I see will fit, but the answer is simple. Figuring out what is coming next and getting a jump start on finding pieces that work for me is a thrill. Plus, you don't have to worry about someone taking the last piece in your size if you're the first one there!
So check out the Chloe show on style.com and, if you like what you see, get started. Look for a well-tailored pair of trousers, a great camel-toned belt, a pair of beige shorts. Layering multiple shades of neutrals will be an easy way to take part in this very neutral trend!
