Big Girl in a Skinny World: SATC2-Inspired Fashion

Hello, Ladies,

As I'm sure all you die-hard fashionistas know, Sex and the City 2 (whose lovely stars are on Marie Claire's cover this month!) premieres tomorrow. I, for one, can't contain myself. I've been a fan of the series for years and have spent countless hours idolizing the ladies' wardrobes. I used to dream of the day when I would have fabulous friends in fabulous New York, a wardrobe like Carrie's, and a job in the fashion industry. While I'm still working on the Carrie-like wardrobe (aside from the cost, most of her looks don't come in plus-size), I'm proud to say I've fulfilled many of my to-do list items. And I must confess, I love when someone asks what I do and, after my answer ("I write a fashion column for Marie Claire"), they remark: "Oh wow, just like Carrie Bradshaw." (I wish!)

So in true Sex and the City fashion, the girls and I will be having cosmos and dinner and watching the premiere this Thursday. I'm wearing my INC International Concepts Plus Size Dress, Sleeveless Pleated with Pockets. This cement-colored frock has a perfect V-neck to elongate, pleating to mask problem areas, and pockets and an exposed zipper that make it ultra-trendy. I'm pairing this dress with my lime-green DVF slingbacks and a FENTON/FALLON for J.Crew piano cuff with a mix of other stacked bangles. I'll add a killer handbag and be out the door!

Another reason I'm thrilled for the movie's premiere: Sex and the City 2: The Stories. The Fashion. The Adventure. It's the book filled with the ladies' outfits from every scene. I love dissecting the looks, and they're always a great source of outfit inspiration! Do you have plans to see the film? Any great outfits in mind? Snap a picture — I'd love to see your SATC2 movie night look!
