Mask the Damage

Mask the Damage

Share

This summer, your hair will likely suffer its fair share of abuse. If not from the sun's strong rays, it'll happen as a result of chlorine-filled pools. To ward off this wear-and-tear, introduce a hair mask into your beauty routine.

A type of deep conditioner to be used once each week, hair masks should be left in for at least five minutes. Though there are hoards of varieties targeted at specific concerns, I rely on ones specifically formulated to repair and rebuild locks. These are my three favorites:

TRESemmé Nourishing Rituals Rejuvenating Mud Masque ($5) — Dry tresses will get the rehydration they crave with this product. Developed with Dead Sea minerals, it exudes TRESemmé's signature, honey-infused, refreshing scent.

Redken Extreme Strength Builder Plus ($20) — After one use, your hair will be so soft and shiny that you won't be able to stop touching it. With its sweet smell and medium-thick formula, you’ll have to actively resist slathering this on every day.

Dove Damage Therapy Intensive Repair Deep Repairing Mask ($5.50) — Rejuvenating tresses from cuticle to end, this conditioner uses fiber-actives to restore proteins in hair and micro-moisture serum to smooth strands and enhance their protective coating.

These masks are worth every penny — trust me, your hair will thank you for the investment.
