Remember Joey New York? I know! Just the name conjures up memories of my college years, a time when I pined for all the boutique beauty brands that were having a moment: Bliss, Joey, Jan Marini, Mario Badescu, Kiehl's. Ah, the '90s.
I'd forgotten all about the posh line with the cheeky product names until Joey New York recently relaunched with a new-and-improved collection of naturally innovative products. Founder Joey Chancis took a hiatus to update her formulas with a star anti-aging ingredient young coconut water and eco-friendly packaging. The lineup still contains Bye Bye Blackheads ($28), the product that made the brand so popular and supermodels' skin so flawless along with a smart, smoothing primer called Correct-A-Line ($36), and my personal favorite, Peel Peel-Off Masque ($32). If you've ever watched Christian Bale's fastidious character in American Psycho, than you've glimpsed the joy of peeling off this brightening, pore-tightening treatment in one satisfying sheet.
The official website, joeynewyork.com, is on its way. In the meantime, shop the line at beauty.com.
