Big Girl in a Skinny World: Great Spring Tops

Hello, Ladies,

I'm always looking for new, undiscovered places to find great items to add to my wardrobe. Sometimes, however, you have to go back to the basics and, yes, back to the stores Mom used to take you to, because if there's anything I've learned, it's that you never know where you're going to find great options. Recently while browsing the Web for cute tops, I revisited JCPenney, and I found lots of great top options for any stylish plus-size girl.

Among the many trends that graced the spring runways, tie-dye was big, and it's been popping up in just about every editorial and on just about every starlet. If you want to give this trend a more subdued (or less Phish-fan-esque) try, pick the

a.n.a Stripe Dye Top. I suggest you pair this trendy tee with a pair of boyfriend jeans and wedges for any summer day of shopping. While this top doesn't exactly follow Proenza Schouler's green, blue, yellow, and black color scheme (perhaps the most popular iteration of the trend), you can add a bag or accessories in one of these bold hues to channel the look.

Burberry's ruffle theme is another great option for spring, and once again you can find a subdued-but-chic version of this trend. The a.n.a Beaded Shoulder Top in lilac or pink paired with a great pair of khaki or gray editor pants can give you an easy version of this high fashion trend.

Stripes have certainly made their comeback this season, too — they were all over the runways from Etro to Marc by Marc Jacobs and Rebecca Taylor. If you want to indulge in this trend consider the

a.n.a Bias Zipper Stripe Top. It is a versatile top that can be worn with jeans, shorts, or even a pencil skirt.

So venture out, try on some great tops, and revisit stores you haven't been to in a while. I was able to find three of the season's hottest trends in one spot (and from one brand!). Do you have your own one-stop shop for tops or anything else? Let me know!
