This self-contained battery starter works by connecting the positive clamp on the Mity Mite to the positive clamp on your dead battery, and its negative clamp to the negative side of your battery. Et voilà! Start your engine, let it run for a few minutes, then remove the cables. However, "if the car has been sitting for a long time without being driven, the battery may need to be replaced, which you should do every other year anyway," says Lauren Fix, spokesperson for the Car Care Council.
