Our Escape to the Galápagos
Marie Claire's fashion team shot this story on Santa Cruz Island in the Galápagos Islands, immortalized by Charles Darwin and his theory of evolution (more on that in the April issue!). "The tropical landscape was intoxicating," says Fashion Director Tracy Taylor. "Such an inspiration for spring fashion stories." At the end of long, hot days warmed by the Panama Current, the team of eight retreated to the sanctuary of the five-star Royal Palm Hotel, where all the furnishings were handcrafted of local materials and the seafood couldn't get any fresher. "Our views of the Pacific and the other islands were amazing," says Taylor. "Each of us had a villa to ourselves-it was pure escapism."
