Get to know one of our college finalists from the University of Texas!
Diya Liu is a senior at the University of Texas majoring in Chemical Engineering and Honors Biochemistry. She is a part-time model (she rocked the runway during Austin Fashion Week) and part-time chem tutor. Her fashion blog, DiyaInHerStilettos, has been featured on MTV Style's website and Chictopia.

What are your favorite stores?
I love to shop online, so Etsy's vintage section, Forever 21, ASOS, Topshop, Gilt, and Ideeli. I like thrift stores, too.
What item on your shopping list is a necessary splurge?
A Rick Owens black leather jacket. I am obsessed with finding the perfect leather jacket and have concluded that his are not only second to none in terms of cut, but also defy coming and passing trends.
What is the biggest fashion trend at your school?
The biggest trend at my school has always been the whole cowboy look--think cowboy boots, jean shorts, floaty top and sunglasses.
What student organizations are you involved in?
I'm a member of the University Fashion Group.
