Blackheads

A: Although it's hard to resist, try not to pop your blackheads (or whiteheads, for that matter)that'll just make them worse. The best way to get rid them is with exfoliating acids, which literally dissolve those dark "plugs" in your pores over time. Some of my favorite products include MD Skincare Alpha Beta Peel, DDF Glycolic Exfoliating Wash, and Neutrogena Rapid Clear Daily Treatment Pads. Choose one or two at most, and work them into your existing skincare routine (which should include cleansing and an oil-free moisturizer with SPF). Your blackheads won't disappear overnight, but you should start to see results in about two weeks. If you want faster results, then kick off your new regimen by booking a light acid peel with your dermatologist (many spas offer this too, but ask a friend or even your hairstylistfor a reputable place in your area). Just don't OD on the acidsyou'll wind up drying out your skin and potentially causing more breakouts.
