How I Got Cara Delevingne Eyebrows, in GIFs

Because who doesn't want to have the face of a supermodel?

As many on Instagram have quoted, "Never let anyone with bad eyebrows tell you sh*t about life." While that's quite the flowery way of explaining the importance of a good brow, the initial sentiment rings true. Eyebrows frame your face and polish your look, much like bright lipstick or a perfectly applied cat-eye. And now, thanks to supermodel-of-the-moment, Cara Delevingne, the power brow is back and taking over the world... one face at a time.

My journey, however, hasn't been all bright-eyed and bushy browed. I, too, sat in front of the mirror every night in middle school plucking to my heart's content. It left me with thin, sad brows, and an even thinner, sadder stack of #TBT photos that I'm not mortally embarrassed to post on social media. So, I took my love of eyebrow-specific facial hair to Heather at the John Barrett Salon at Bergdorf Goodman to show me what's what on maintaining a wonderfully thick, power eyebrow of my own.

Step 1: Take a clean mascara brush and comb up and away to get a better sense of the actual length and shape of your brows.

Step 2: Tweeze underneath the brow BUT keep them looking as natural as possible. Make sure to leave a few hairs underneath the tail of the brow to give it a bushy look.

Step 3: Pencil from underneath the front of the brow and follow your natural shape, keeping it darkest at the arch. Tip: Using the pencil helps create the shape.

Step 4: Use a brown eye shadow to fill in any sparse areas.

Step 5: Use a light, matte eyeshadow to apply underneath the brow to clean up and give the illusion of a more arched brow.

Step 6: Apply a creamy highlighter to brighten and contour around the outline of your eyebrow.

Step 7: Comb up and away once more so that the brows are the thickest and darkest at the end.

Voila! I'll be supermodeling in no time.
