THE MEETING THAT LED HER TO THE LIMELIGHT: "Just after Jennifer Lopez did Selena, she came to me for the first time and said she wanted a whole new look. I took a chance and lightened her up." And just like that, those coveted honey streaks were born.
SO THAT'S WHY SHE'S WRINKLE-FREE: Hazan is a baby! She's just 31 (though she's been in the biz for more than 10 years), which means she was barely out of her teens when she started compiling her impressive client roster. Today she has her own salon in New York City, frequently appears on makeover segments on Oprah, and is a hair color consultant for Pantene's new color line. She's also developing her own line of color-friendly hair products.
TO LOOK LIKE A HAZAN CLIENT:
* Go warm. "Cool hair [ashy or frosty] isn't flattering to anyone." If you have a cool complexion, do a mix of warm and cool tones (like Lopez).
* Avoid color depositing shampoos. "The pigment stains hair."
