Blondes start with the most neutral palette, so they can afford to take risks with hair and makeup shades, says celebrity colorist Michael Canalé, who's responsible for painting on Jennifer Aniston's highlights. The trick to looking beyond gorgeous? Balance a punchy lip with a sparkling, eye-enhancing shade.

MC TIP for light skin tones: Soft peachy shades on lips and cheeks won't clash with a ruddy complexion.

MC TIP for tan skin tones: Pale pinks can look drab, so try orange shades to brighten up darker skin.
