What a long, strange trip it was. When we headed to Dubai to for a fashion shoot who knew we’d be walking into Oz? Here, highlights.First off, why Dubai? "It's all over the media right now as the ultimate travel and shopping destination," explains Senior Fashion Editor Eric Nicholson. "It seems a very culturally relevant place for a shoot." Facing a 10-hour layover at Heathrow was a bummer, but frustration vanished once we entered the Clubhouse, Virgin Atlantic Airways’ swank lounge.

Some of the crew played pool and got facials while Nicholson opted for the whirlpool: "The private bathroom was bigger than my bedroom in New York!" he laments.
