The event that celebrates the celebs who arent behaving badly.
With all the talk of stars gone wild, sometimes its easy to forget that there are a lot of Hollywood types who spend their free time trying to make a difference, not playing up to the paparazzi. Thats why were excited that Marie Claire is co-sponsoring the Step Up Womens Networks annual Inspiration Awards in Los Angeles on May 9 along with Los Angeles Magazine, Halé Bob, and Crystal Light. The annual gala celebrates philanthropic accomplishment by honoring celebrities, executives, and corporations for their ongoing support of the national non-profit, helping to raise critical funds for their programs, as well as for being outstanding role models for young girls.
This years honorees include Jennifer Love Hewitt, Lifetime Networks President and CEO Andrea Wong, and the DOVE Self-Esteem Fund. Lifetime Networks leads the entertainment industrys focus on positive messaging for women and girls, says Danielle Carrig, Executive Director of Step Up Womens Network. The Dove Self-Esteem Fund has a global commitment to promoting the self-esteem of young girls. Step Up applauds their efforts to help girls build positive self-esteem and healthy body image and we are grateful for their on-going commitment to the organization.
Jamie Lee Curtis, Aisha Tyler, and Kelly Preston will be among the presenters at the event along with host committee members Jessica Alba, Molly Sims, Leslie Ann Warren, and Lacey Chabert. This year, Step Up Womens Network is also celebrating its 10th year of service to women and girls.
