Purdue University research reports that the typical fast-food meal has fewer calories than the usual table-service restaurant order. So why the bad rap for McMeals? Diners tend to eat less before and after a nice restaurant meal. Not so at the drive-through — the reason why fast-food frequenters tip the scales at the end of the day.
