Does it exist?
Does the perfect man exist?
Is there a perfect face?
A perfect body.
Guess it all depends on who you ask. Goggles included.
I've never heard a swimmer-swimmer (someone who swam in high school or college) complain about leaky goggles.
Hmmmm........so where is the dis-connect between what I hear so many complaints about and what I swim with everyday in the pool.

Found a new book about strength training.
"Strength Training For Triathletes" by Patrick Hagerman. Although the title says it's for triathletes, I've found this book to be a great reference tool for not just triathletes but athletes in general looking to get stronger.

I know it's November.
But it's flip flop wearing season somewhere and it doesn't even have to be 5:00 to wear them.
Want the coolest flip flops ever?
Have big feet and think they're only for the averaged sized woman?
Think again.

You know I felt a little weird about the last entry. But seeing sprinklez4me's response I now know I am not alone.
I have to think that it's just a space issue and some women are more aware than others. Perhaps a form of class etiquette? But since I have very little class....experience maybe I'm wrong.
I"ve looked for some etiquette rules and was able to find some but they don't really touch on the issues at hand.
Yes, carry a towel but can you towel snap the woman next to you when she gets too close?
Yes, bring a water bottle. Can you then squirt her?
Blah, blah, blah.....

Yes I know I believe I've said to try different things. Different exercises. Different sports.
Well I did this past week and although it doesn't matter to say exactly what I tried - it was horrible.
Horrible.
But I did try....uh it was horrible. All 50 some minutes of it.

Did you know scientists have begun to piece together clues about the impact of parental fitness on the developing fetus. Obesity is associated with a laundry list of negative affects on the developing fetus. Now there’s mounting evidence suggesting that exercise during pregnancy might directly benefit the fetus.

In helping others to learn how to swim or to simply better their strokes, I've noticed some basic trends.
And I'd like to share those now.
If you are working on your swimming in the now off season (-ish) for triathlon training or just working on your swimming for kicks....never fear you are not alone in your struggles.
And if you want help but are not sure what area you need it - use the list below to check in with yourself in the water.
Or if you're entirely new to the sport....

TIMEX Introduces Timex® Ironman* Wireless Fitness Tracker
It's a digital transmitter and watch system that calculates calories, distance, steps and pace.
This is a new product from TIMEX that I think is just absolutely great. Absolutely ANY woman can use this watch. Someone just curious about fitness to a hard core athlete. And with the holidays right around the corner this gadget makes for a great stocking stuffer that can't go wrong.

Isn't it weird that the one area (and everyone has at least one area - if you don't, well - no way. everyone has one area) you really really need to work on, is the area or exercise you adamantly can't stand doing?
I thought it was just me but I have people all the time asking me for workout and training advice and the other day a woman was telling me how she loves to work out. She was probably in her late thirties to early forties and was in great shape. Tall. Healthy. And the first thing she told me was how she will do ANYTHING but sit-ups. Can't stand them and went on to say it was her stomach that needs the most work.
I completely agreed with her. I can not stand doing sit-ups either and I always save them for the end, build them up to be this huge ordeal and usually end up cutting the sets or reps short. Love the abdominal's. Sit-ups: not so much.

I was on the train the other day headed upstate and noticed a group of women jump roping on an abandoned basketball court in some park along the tracks.
I remember seeing stuff like this back in Phoenix too.
A group of mom's getting together at a public park in order to run thru some mommy and me exercises sans gym.....and gym expenses.
Now I know there are social running groups that meet, and friends who cycle or even play tennis together, BUT........
