This season's penultimate episode of Saturday Night Live continued with its searing, political satire. With Melissa McCarthy serving as host, her Sean "Spicey" Spicer impression put in a show stopping performance. This week, it was all about the press secretary's special relationship with the president.
As for Alec Baldwin's Trump, his pained facial expressions were put through the wringer. From a showdown with "Spicey", to an interview opposite Lester Holt, Trump was interrogated, but managed to escape scrutiny as only Trump can. Here are SNL's best Trump and Spicer moments from this week's show.
1. "Spicey" Hiding in the Bushes
Melissa McCarthy parodied the moment that Sean Spicer hid in the White House bushes, inspiring a million memes.
2. Tensions Between Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Sean Spicer Were Discussed
Is the Deputy White House Press Secretary taking over?
3. "Spicey" Presented His Trump Russian Doll
McCarthy's Spicer reiterated, "There is no Russian thing. The only Russian thing here is my little dolly." She then proceeded to unpack the doll saying, "Here's Trump. He's the biggest one, and the most beautiful."
4. Inside the Doll, There Were Lots of Surprises
James Comey became Jake The Dog from Adventure Time, Hillary Clinton became Maleficent, and Steve Bannon became Slimer from Ghostbusters.
5. Vladimir Putin Was Hiding Inside
6. "Spicey" Went in Search of Trump in NYC
McCarthy rode that podium all over New York City, and even stopped off at Trump Tower.
7. Trump Propositioned Spicer
In the show's most shocking scene, Trump propositioned Spicer, and the pair started kissing. However, this didn't happen before Spicer protested, "No, I'm married!" Trump's response? "I'm famous, it's OK." SNL called out Trump's behavior, and although the scene was played for laughs, it was incredibly unsettling.
8. Paul Ryan is Serving Ice Cream
The Speaker of the House has a new, and important, job.
