If you're looking for ways to pamper yourself and recreate that spa experience at home, look no further than your kitchen. We're going to show you how to incorporate everyday household items into your beauty routine. Lets start with puffy eyes, place 2 spoons in the frizzer; when they're good and cold, gently place on the area just underneath your eyes, this will reduce puffiness. Olive oil is a great cure for all things dry. Extra virgin olive oil contains a fat that helps keep your scalp healthy. Vegetable fat also helps prevent the hair from breaking. Mix a little oil into your conditioner and leave it on for 10 minutes before rinsing. For soft cuticles, place your fingertips in a bowl of slightly heated oil. Careful that it isn't too hot, do this 10 minutes once a week. Olive oil is a great way to remove water proof mascara. Put a few drops on the cotton ball and swipe over both eyes. If you're looking for an exfoliator, but want something more natural and gentle, try sugar, mix sugar with a gentle cleansing lotion. Use it once a week to remove dead skin. For a great steam facial, use camomile tea. Fill a wide bowl half way with boiling water, add 2 camomile tea bags. Cover with a cloth and let steam for at least 5 minutes. Place your face over the bowl and draped a towel over your head like a tent. Keep the water a good 10 inches away to prevent too much head from damaging your skin. This will soften the debris in your pores. If you have oily skin, try this recipe for a great facial mask. You'll need plain yogurt, 2 drops of thyme oil, 2 drops of mint oil, juice from 1 lemon, a half a packet of yeast, and start from 1 potato. The starch is the milky water that comes from soaking a potato in water for a few hours. Combine all ingredients in a food processor. Apply to you entire face and leave on for about 15 minutes then rinse. The oils act as an astringent, the lemon juice as an antiseptic, and the yeast regulates the sebaceous glands which produces the oil in oily complexions, the start will help absorb oil. With these everyday ingredients, you know what you're getting, natural products that are great for your skin.
