Gretchen Jones on Her Winning Project Runway Look Video
Plus, go behind the scenes as model Coco Rocha struts her stuff for the Marie Claire billboard campaign
I'm Zanna Roberts Rassi. I'm the Senior Fashion Editor at Marie Claire. We are here today at Milk Studio, shooting the billboard campaign for Marie Claire. It's featuring the winning look by Gretchen Jones from the Project Runway, and modeled by no other than Coco Rocha who is from Elite Model Agency. This is picked by the judges, Joanna Coles, Nina Garcia, Heidi Klum, Michael Kors. They chose this for various reasns. Obviously it was very arresting, it was perfect for Marie Claire woman. It was versatile, it was simple, it was gonna work on a billboard campaign. So many things we have to go into this to make it work and make it a winning look.
Thank you so much.
Such a great, great look. What [unknown] inspiration behind your line or who were you designing for?
I feel like who I design for is the Marie Claire reader. It's a woman that is smart and educated not only within her own career,
but also fashion-minded and understands on what's going on, but also wants to be able to play independent without being trendy.
You obviously designed this fabulous navy jumpsuit.
So, it's essentially just fabric, you know, got touch vision. This is like a linen, a navy linen
jumpsuit with this amazing drop back, an incredible cut to the bottom of the leg.
It was important to me to create something that really embodied say tonight and being able to be work wear. So, I have this lovely hidden snap where you can show a little bit more cleavage when need be, and then you can button up when you need to.
I'm not surprised you got picked, my dear. Amazing design, all the right work, the right whole process. Congrats.
