Behind-the-scenes "The Drive to Do Good" Video - Yvette
I started out thinking that I was gonna go into business. I didn't really think I was gonna be in this year. It wasn't until I got really into numbers and realized that numbers weren't just for accountants and that's where I decided I'm going to be in an engineer. Fashion Fights Poverty, it's an advocacy group, a volunteer organization. That's the core value of the organization is, creativity to alleviate poverty. What we do is we advocate for designers, other nonprofit organizations looking towards not just being eco-sustainable but also being ethical and fair trade, fair wage, workshop free. I've always volunteered. I've always given my time to something. I started out, you know, volunteering, putting the events together for a local orphanage. And as I grew older and got involved in my career, I always knew that there will be a time that would be like the perfect, you know, moment that I could parallel my day job with, you know, with another effort. And Fashion Fights Poverty turned out to be it. In 5 years, I see myself teaching. I see myself trying to be more- trying to be a better leader, both as an engineer and as part of the organization. Fashion Fights Poverty's a volunteer organization. So, you know, if you wanna volunteer, if you want to set up a chapter in your school, anything, just, you know, contact us.
