Surprise Stylist Part Two: Hair and Makeup Video
Surprise Stylist continues, giving our bride-to-be a full hairstyle and makeup makeover!
So Kristin's had her hair color. Then now, it's time to style. For that, we're visiting Kevin [unknown]'s brand new salon which just had its grand opening. Let's go inside. Hi, Kevin. Your salon is beautiful.
Thank you so much. I'm so looking forward to meeting Kristin.
Great. She's here. Let's bring her in. Wow!
It's beautiful. Now, let's take you to the sink and do a special shampoo and conditioner and get you styled. So Kristin, I'm using a special shampoo. I'm gonna do Nexxus Dualiste Color Protection plus Volume Shampoo and Conditioner. This is great because it's gonna protect your color and it's gonna make it last a lot longer. And with this formulation, it's going to condition your hair and not weigh it down so you'll have a beautiful, voluminous style.
Oh, that's so great.
Perfect. I can already feel how good it feels. It's great. It's so conditioned. Good. So let's get you started. We'll get you all styled.
Oh, I'm so excited. I can't wait.
Okay, Kristin. So take some notes. This is Dualiste Leave-In Spray. It's an intense moisturizer. It has heat protection for when you do your styling.
And you spray it all over. And this will maximize the color protection.
That you are really gonna get miles after this color. To support the style a little bit further, I'm gonna use Mousse Plus. It's well-conditioned but the mousse isn't really that sticky. It's really supportive and light-weight and it has a nice body and volume. So, the style is gonna be soft and voluminous and I'm gonna use a round brush but I'm gonna start by using my fingers and I'm gonna take the dryer. I'm gonna blow into the root. This way, it gives you a natural volume and a nice, natural base. Hair is not overworked and the style lasts longer. So the next step, I'm going to use a curling iron. I'm actually gonna take the hair and I'm going to create uneven spirals with it. This is really nice to know how to do this.
Because when you set your hair in your home with a curling iron, a lot of times you do it in the old way of like rolling it up and it ends up like prom hair. It's a simple as it looks. You're just basically doing little spiral. I mean, you just let the hair out. And don't worry about the heat because the leave-in spray has heat protection for both the blow-drying and the curling iron. Kristin, I'm just gonna finish it off with a very light spray. Give it a nice little shake.
Perfect. Oh, so [unknown]. It's so nice.
Yeah, it's gorgeous.
I absolutely love it.
And I'm gonna give you a full set of the Dualiste Shampoo, Conditioner and the Leave-In and you are gonna have long-lasting color.
Kristin, what do you think?
It's incredible. It's gorgeous.
Oh, it looks great. Great. And we're not even done. So we're gonna head back to the tower and get you in front of Lisa Garner who's gonna spice up your makeup.
Hi. Kristin, this is Lisa Garner.
Lisa has worked with some of the biggest stars and has been featured in magazines from Cosmopolitan to Vanity Fair.
Nice to meet you.
Lovely to meet you, too.
[unknown] I'll let you do your thing.
Thanks [unknown]. Now, what are we gonna do with you, huh? So Kristin, what I've got planned for you is a makeup that- It's essentially a daytime makeup. [unknown] daytime makeup. So let's start. Just even out with the base. And then, cover up any of those minor imperfections with a concealer. We want to try and cover up those circles underneath the eyes, the redness around the sides of the nose and just a little bit of redness through the cheeks.
So, use a little bit of concealer there as well. What I'm gonna do now is put on a cream blush. It's a really nice way to get a rosy glow without making it a heavy look for the day time. Now, with your eyes, I'm just gonna use a neutral base and with a [unknown] like a cream. I use a [unknown].
Oh, that's so cool.
You've [unknown] before?
This is? Okay. It's the same principle.
So, it's basically the friction and metal, as you know, is a good conductor of heat. Nice to have just a little bit of shadow along these lash line. What we're really aiming to do is not have a pretty line on your upper eyelid to accentuate the beauty of your eyes and to help your lashes look thicker which, again, frame your eyes.
So now, I'm gonna use this liner. I'm gonna just put it right down the [unknown]. I like to do one kind of lash primer which is almost like a conditioner and then the mascara clings to that. We wanna get the lash line as dark and as intense as possible. Once you've done the liner on the top, now we have to do the liner underneath the lashes. Now this is the real makeup [unknown] to do. See? It's a light, shimmery shade and you're gonna put it right in here and this will really gonna make your eyes pop. You see this a lot on the red carpet. Now, I'm gonna do your eyebrows. I'm just using a little brow powder. And you're really just sweeping it through the brows. It's [unknown] so it's looking very natural. With your lips, I would just for this daytime look, I think it's pretty [unknown] for something that's pinky, brown, even the [unknown]. You've just got a little bit more going on in your eye.
You, my friend, are done.
Doesn't even look like me.
Oh, it's amazing.
Beautiful. I feel like it's just enhanced everything.
Absolutely. Lisa, fantastic job.
Thank you so much.
Oh, Lisa, thank you so much.
So, we have one more stop at the Marie Claire fashion closet.
Oh, can't wait.
Up next, we'll find out how Marie Claire is making over Kristin's wardrobe and then it's time to unveil the final look.
