December marks the 60th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the U.N. General Assembly, which laid plain the basic rights of all people everywhere. Since then, Amnesty has helped enforce those rights from Sudan to San Francisco by raising awareness, organizing protests, lobbying, supporting victims, and spearheading letter-writing campaigns.
Do your part and give what you can: your time to get educated, your signature to a petition, or your money to Amnesty's mission. A far more gratifying way to spend your lunch break than, say, updating your Miley Cyrus Facebook fan page.
