Tom Hiddleston wants you to know that whatever's going on between him and Taylor Swift is real. Not a publicity stunt, not a music video, but an actual relationship with feelings, PDA and all. The 35-year-old actor finally confirmed his connection with the pop singer in an interview today with The Hollywood Reporter. (Though numerous date shots and smooching pics of the two have been posted and published, neither Swift nor Hiddleston had really publicly confirmed they were together.)
When asked how he reacted to claims that he and Taylor were only dating for publicity, Hiddleston responded with a laugh:
"Well, um. How best to put this? That notion is—look, the truth is that Taylor Swift and I are together and we're very happy. Thanks for asking. That's the truth. It's not a publicity stunt."
Besides his newfound love, Hiddleston has other things to be happy about, namely his first Emmy nomination, which he received this morning for his role in The Night Manager. Though he didn't watch the nominations as they were streamed live, (he's currently filming the next Thor film in Australia) he found out about his nod soon after when friends started blowing up his phone.
"I'm just very proud of it, and it's very humbling and heartwarming to be recognized. You never know as an actor if your passion for a project as you make it is going to connect and translate into passionate for the audience. It seems that in some respects it has and that is the most satisfying and thrilling conclusion," he said.
