Nearly nine months to the day after David Bowie's death, his widow, Iman, has made one of her first public appearances, and spoke out about how she's recovering from the loss of her husband.
Iman appeared at Tom Ford's show at New York Fashion Week, and spoke to Good Morning America about how she's using fashion to help her through grief. "I'm holding up, I'm holding up," she said. "Today was the first day of school." The couple's 16-year-old daughter, Alexandria Zahra Jones, headed back to class this week.
The model then pointed to a delicate gold necklace she was wearing that showcased the name David. "I'm wearing this until my death," she said. "Hedi Slimane made it for me."
She explained that she not only had to deal with her husband's death, but also her mother's death two months later. "It's been a tough year, but I'm holding up," she said. But there's still more recovery ahead. When told she was a "survivor," she looked at the camera and said, "Not as much as you think."
