George and Amal Clooney are putting down permanent roots in New York City. According to Page Six, the power couple have purchased a luxury apartment at the One Hundred East Fifty Third Street building in NYC, which is set to open next year.
"The high-profile couple did not purchase the penthouse, but instead opted for a high-floor residence in the upcoming building," a source told Page Six. That penthouse is going for $65 million, according to the building's website.
The next highest-floor apartment listed as available on the website is the 49th floor unit, with costs $14.75 million and takes up the entire floor. The floor plan for the unit proves that it's plenty luxurious for George and Amal — you know, if that's the apartment they're purchasing.
Page Six's source said the couple opted to buy something permanent in New York because of Amal's work with the United Nations and Columbia Law School.
Of course, the Clooneys also own homes in Studio City, Cali., Lake Como, Italy, and a mansion in England, so we can't expect them to be in NYC year round.
