Emily Ratajkowski Was One Step Away From a Wardrobe Malfunction at the Met Gala

Though, if anyone could have made it work...

  • Emily Ratajkowski dressed like Cher for the Met Gala's Camp theme, and she looked amazing.
  • ...But she was one step away from a major wardrobe malfunction.

Pose star Billy Porter donned some wings, Lupita Nyong'o's ruffled shoulders were so big they looked like rainbow wings, and Emily Ratajkowski straight-up put some wings on her face for the Met Gala. That alone gives her some solid placement on the Camp best dressed list, but her outfit also got major attention because it was basically a wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen.

Emily looked like a goddess in a gown that was reportedly designed by Peter Dundas. The drape-y silvery dress had a huge cutout right on her torso, and the part of the design that covered her chest made it look like she was one arm motion away from a nip slip. Eeek! Luckily, it had a skin-toned lining that made it look like she wasn't wearing anything underneath, so there wasn't any real concern for a wardrobe malfunction. Plus, Emily doesn't shy away from owning her body on social media, so if something did happen, she'd probably brush it off anyway.

For this look, the model/designer took inspiration from the iconic Cher, who she called the "Queen of Camp" in her Instagram Stories when she teased what she'd be wearing tonight.

Once inside, Emily posed next to a huge dinner table and looked like the human embodiment of the Kira Kira app.
