Amal Clooney's proud parents have expressed their joy over their daughter welcoming "beautiful" twins into the world with husband George.
Bara Alamuddin, who was with her human rights lawyer daughter in London as she gave birth, told French publication AFP, "We are over the moon. It was a beautiful delivery. The babies are beautiful and are doing well."
Father Ramzi, who was in Beirut at the time of the birth, added: "They are in great health, all is perfect. I am very happy for them." He also said that both Amal and George will be "great parents."
The star couple confirmed the arrival of their twins—a boy and a girl—Tuesday, releasing the following statement: "This morning Amal and George welcomed Ella and Alexander Clooney into their lives. Ella, Alexander, and Amal are all healthy, happy, and doing fine."
The actor's representative [link href='http://people.com/babies/george-clooney-amal-clooney-welcome-twins/' target='_blank' 0='data-tracking-id="recirc-text-link"' link_updater_label='external']also joked: "George is sedated and should recover in a few days."
The pair opted for traditional names after George had initially joked in a recent interview that he wanted to call them "Casa and Amigos" after his tequila brand, Casamigos. Twins Ella and Alexander are the first children for the couple.
