Last month, Taylor Swift sent the Internet into a frenzy when she posted a bikini pic with a clear shot of her belly button to Instagram. This, of course, was after she told Lucky, "I don't like showing my belly button" and that if she were ever to get a tattoo, "it's going to be right next to my belly button because no one's ever going to see that."
Fast-forward to her Hawaii vacation with the Haim sisters and there was her belly button, clear as day:
So why, after years of secrecy, did she suddenly decide to reveal her sheltered naval? Turns out, it was a conspired move to rain on the paparazzi's parade. You see, Taylor noticed that some photographers had been stalking her whale-watching adventure with her Haim BFFs. Big mistake. Huge.
"My security gets out the binoculars and sees that they have a huge long lens camera," she said in an interview with BBC Radio 1's Breakfast Show. "At which point, we go back to the beach and realize, 'Okay, so they got pictures of us in our bikinis.' I don't want them to make, like, $100,000...for a bikini shot. And so we're like, 'Get up on the bow of the boat: We're taking better bikini shots so that they don't make as much money on theirs."
There you have it, paparazzi. Taylor Swift can see through your long-lensed schemes, and writing a killer breakup song is not the only trick she has up her sleeve.
