Our friends at GQ.com are trying to make you fall for the "What color is this THING" business again. You may still remember the traumatic matter of "the dress," which broke eyes, screens, and friendships worldwide in 2015.
This time around, it's a shoe: a Vans Old Skool sneaker, to be exact.
An immediate poll of the office saw one lone truth-teller describing the shoe as pink and white. Everyone else said they saw grey and turquoise.
Who is right?
Twitter user @AliciaMarieBODY, who tweeted the picture, hasn't actually explained what color the shoes are, but we think we know. "The world doesn't have time for these games," said photo editor Mariel Tyler. "We have to end this right here, right now." And because she's a good person, she gave us this explanation of what's going on in the picture. "The camera's not reading white as white—the color temperature is totally off. It's like when you take a picture when you have a flash on, you will look bluer than you are, because flashes have have a blue tint—it's cooler-colored, versus, like, a tungsten light."
So the white laces have likely been rendered blue in this picture—they're not actually blue.
