A New Portrait of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip Shows They're More in Love Than Ever

The royal couple marks their 70th wedding anniversary on Monday.

In honor of their 70th anniversary on Monday, Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh have released a new official portrait.

According to the royal family's Twitter account, the photo shows the Queen and His Royal Highness "framed by Thomas Gainsborough's 1781 portraits of George III and Queen Charlotte, who were married for 57 years."

While the milestone is significant—no other member of the royal family has ever reached a platinum wedding anniversary—the Queen and Prince Philip will reportedly celebrate the occasion with a small private dinner surrounded by close family and friends.
