Bella Hadid stepped out at the Met Gala alone tonight. And she was dressed lavishly, in an elegant black gown with jeweled cutouts. She completed with look with giant jewel dangle earrings:
Hadid did not walk the carpet tonight with her boyfriend The Weeknd. If she had, it would have come three years after they made their debut appearance there. Hadid and The Weeknd last went as a couple to the Met Gala in 2016. There, they both wore black:
But after their first break up in November 2016, they went in 2017 separately. The Weeknd went with his then-girlfriend Selena Gomez, who he started dating in January that year. They showed the most PDA on the red carpet and had only gone Instagram official a month earlier at Coachella.

The Weeknd and Gomez broke up in October 2017. And The Weeknd and Hadid really officially started dating again in May last year. The two were seen making out at a Cannes party. Fast forward to May 2019, and the couple is living together in New York City. In November 2018, Us Weekly reported that Hadid and The Weeknd were actually pretty close to getting engaged.
A source told the outlet that "a proposal is on the horizon," and that the two are "madly in love with each other." Hadid's decision to move into The Weeknd's Tribeca apartment in October was said to be an indicator of how committed they were, Us's source explained. "She felt like this was the next step in their relationship," the source said.
