Since the announcement of another royal wedding—Pippa Middleton's nuptials to hedge fund manager James Matthews—rumors have been swirling about who will be the lucky British designer to claim the honor of watching her walk down the aisle in one of their designs.
Many designers were asked to submit ideas, but some were bigger contenders than others. British heavyweights like Erdem and Emilia Wickstead would keep things modern but classic—like Kate's dress designed by Sarah Burton, the creative director of Alexander McQueen. Others speculated Pippa would play it safe with a bridal favorite like Jenny Packham.

At the top of everyone's wedding bracket, though, was couturier Giles Deacon, the red-carpet favorite who's clothed stars like Cate Blanchett, Kerry Washington, Solange Knowles, and Sarah Jessica Parker. He was photographed after a meeting with Pippa last November, garment bags in hand, which added pressure to the "Who Dun It?" mystery. He's known for glamorous, sweeping gowns in prints, embellishments, and opulent details, so it wasn't likely Pippa would be wearing anything boring at today's event.
