According to George, they have never fought. I'm personally not counting out the possibility that this is one of George's pranks, but the guy insists it's true.

On April 21, George appeared on CBS Mornings where he was interviewed by Gayle King.

"I remember we were here with you once before, and I remember we said we’d never had an argument," George told the journalist of himself and his wife. At that time, his comments got a lot of coverage. "We still haven’t." He added, "We’re trying to find something to fight about."

"I feel so extraordinarily lucky to have met this incredible woman," he said. "And I feel as if I hit the jackpot. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think I’m the luckiest man in the world. So, it’s great."

The star has also been known to wear a vintage Dior skirt suit while speaking at the United Nations.

Some of Clooney's clothes date back decades. Over the years, she's been photographed in enviable vintage pieces including ’60s Balmain coat, a ’70s red Dior shift dress, and a black sequined gown by Yves Saint Laurent from 1981.

Amal Clooney turned 46 on February 3, and it appears her birthday gift is a very good, good boy named Nelson. Amal’s husband George apparently gifted her with the pup for her birthday, and they took the St. Bernard on a sunny outing in the South of France, Nelson snuggled in his mom’s arms while his dad took charge of his leash.

The Clooneys are known for both their philanthropy and their love of animals, and Nelson is perhaps the only creature who could take folks’ eyes off of the dazzling Clooneys as they strolled through the streets. For the walk, Amal wore a brown dress, black boots, and oversized sunglasses; George wore a classic black jacket and blue jeans.

Entertainment Tonight reports that Nelson isn’t the first St. Bernard the Clooneys have welcomed into their family. “The delightful pup will be joining the ranks of the family’s beloved pooch Rosie, named in honor of George’s late aunt Rosemary,” the outlet writes. (Rosemary Clooney was a beloved singer and actress.) 

In addition to Rosie and Nelson, the Clooneys also have Millie, a basset hound, and Louie, a cocker spaniel. Before he met Amal, George loves animals so much that he even had a pet pig named Max, who died in 2006.

George and Amal’s coterie of fur children also have a human brother and sister, twins Alexander and Ella, who are six years old. “When you have twins and you’re raising [them at] the same time, the same way, and they’re completely different human beings, you realize how little say you have in who they are,” George told Michael Strahan on Good Morning America. “You try to give them some boundaries and you try to give them things that you believe in, but they’re just different.”

Alexander and Ella are very much individuals, he added: “They come out with an opinion, and it’s amazing to watch how different my kids’ personalities are,” he said.

The Daily Mail reports that the Clooneys were seen walking through the streets of Contingac in the South of France, where they are now apparently permanently living, “no longer spending time at their £10 million Thameside mansion in Sonning, Berkshire,” the outlet writes. Life in the Cote d’Azur seems sweet, as they are now living at the 18th century Domaine du Canadel and have been for several months, enjoying days like the one pictured, where George and Amal visited an art gallery and were joined by friends for lunch on the terrace of the gourmet Picotte restaurant, The Daily Mail reports.

“Their idyllic French estate includes a 25-acre vineyard, a pool, tennis court, boules pitch, olive grove, and ornamental lake,” the outlet writes. “It is also just a 25-minute drive from Chateau Miraval, the winery which George’s close friend and fellow actor Brad Pitt bought with Angelina Jolie while they were still married.”

As for the Clooneys’ famed Lake Como property in Italy? After George bought Villa Oleandra in 2002, parts of his film Ocean’s Twelve were shot there; the family spends most summers at the property, “which boasts a basketball court, movie theater, and a garage full of vintage motorbikes,” The Daily Mail writes. “It has hosted a string of stars, including Jennifer Aniston and Matt Damon, as well as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.” As to recent reports that the Clooneys were selling the property? Not true, the outlet asserts. 

When George and Amal Clooney married in 2014, maybe a few uninformed individuals thought it was Amal who married up, as he was world famous and she was not (at least at that time)—but let George tell you himself, that is not true.

In an interview with Page Six, George said he was well aware that he wasn’t up to Amal’s lofty standards when the two got married nearly a decade ago. (Amal is a successful human rights attorney, has held various appointments with the U.K. government and the United Nations, and is an adjunct professor of law at Columbia Law School. She also mixes her brains with beauty: she’s become a bona fide fashion icon since emerging into the public eye and, oh yeah, and in addition to all of that? She’s a mom of twins. *head explodes* She and George cofounded the human rights organization the Clooney Foundation for Justice in 2016.) 

“Yes, and I still do [think that],” George replied when asked if he felt like he was “punching above” his weight with Amal. And, he added with a laugh, “everyone would say the same thing.”

The actor and director screened his latest film, The Boys in the Boat, at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City this week; George directed this project, based on the bestselling nonfiction book of the same name by Daniel James Brown. It is based on the true story of the 1936 Olympic U.S. rowing team that competed in the Berlin Olympics and triumphed over incredible odds. 

“I like Depression-era stories,” George said of what drew him to the project, adding that his parents are also “from that exact same” time period.

“The idea [that] these guys needed to do it as opposed to wanting to do it,” he said. “And I like the idea that somehow along the way they ended up being the greatest rowers in the world when they were just lumberjacks, which is kind of cool.”

George shared that learning about the struggles the rowers faced made him reflect on how to instill that drive to succeed in his own children Alexander and Ella, born in 2017. “It’s a concern [and] I think every parent has the same concern,” he said. “Make sure that they understand how difficult…and struggling is a big part of learning, so yes, it’s always a question, that will be the great challenge of parenting.”

The Boys in the Boat hits theaters on Christmas Day.  

On December 14, human rights lawyer and de facto style icon Amal Clooney stepped out with husband George in New York City. The two were seen leaving Polo Bar, a Ralph Lauren restaurant in midtown Manhattan, and Clooney looked absolutely radiant in rosy makeup and long, glossy hair.

Her hair was styled and colored by celebrity hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos, who has also styled the likes of Kate Beckinsale, Rosalia, Shay Mitchell, and Kim Kardashian. Over the last few weeks, Giannetos has done both hair and makeup for Clooney as she’s attended awards shows and work engagements, and he even posted about how their relationship has inspired him, writing, “Your drive your passion and love for everyone’s human rights is impeccable and such an eye opening for many of us. You completely have changed the way I see the world, I’m v grateful for you.” 

This time around, he lightened her long, dark brown hair with light brown highlights. On her night out with her husband, Clooney wore her shiny hair loose and straight throughout, with gentle waves at the ends. 

Her makeup added to her overall glow. She wore rosy pink blush on the apples of her cheeks, with purple-pink eyeshadow and a nude pink lip. The color scheme lent her a sun kissed look that offset the harsh cold nights New York faced this week. 

While Clooney hasn’t shared the particular products she used to get her dinner date look, she’s been wearing a lot of Charlotte Tilbury recently, and has long championed the brand’s best selling Pillow Talk lipstick and lip liner (which is one of my personal favorites as well). Out of the lawyer and the actor, you wouldn't expect the lawyer to be the style icon of the pair. But this is most certainly the case for Amal and George Clooney.

Don't get me wrong, George was named People's 'Sexiest Man Alive' in 1997 and 2009 for good reason, but he has met his match in Amal. She has given us yet another display of the perfect date-night look.

The pair were headed to the Polo Bar in New York City after a screening of his new film, The Boys in the Boat. Amal was the picture of feminine elegance in a pastel pink feather minidress, which proves that the summer's Barbie trend isn't going anywhere. This was paired with gold chrome heels and a black satin blazer; simple block colors that pull together the entire look.

She wore diamond drop earrings and her signature glowing complexion with rosy cheeks and glossy lips. George recently revealed that his wife doesn't have a stylist, making this look even more impressive. I also need to know how she gets her hair that shiny.

As for George, he kept it casual in a brown suede jacket, black polo shirt and faded blue jeans. But I guess when you've been named the World's Sexiest Man twice already, you know the power of a good, faded pair of jeans. He brought a bit of formality to the outfit with black shiny shoes, which perfectly complemented his wife's blazer.

But the best aspect of this date-night look are the married couple's huge grins as they walk through New York City arm-in-arm.

We talk extensively about Amal Clooney’s fashion—if we had it our way, we’d write about every look she wears publicly (and sometimes do)—but it’s rare we hear her husband, George Clooney, discuss it. But that he did on the red carpet last night for the L.A. premiere of his new film, The Boys in the Boat, where he stood alongside Amal, dazzling in lemon yellow Atelier Versace that was a masterclass in dopamine dressing. (She paired the gown with Cartier jewels.)

“I’ll put on an outfit, and she’ll come downstairs, and I’m embarrassed,” he said, per Access. “You know, my wife doesn’t have a stylist. She does it all on her own.” 

George continued to gush about his wife to Entertainment Tonight, telling the outlet “She cleans up,” in perhaps the understatement of the year. “I’m always embarrassed because I’m wearing something that I’ve worn, like, 1,000 times,” he said.

Amal’s citrus Versace look was an A-line gown with a geometric sweetheart neckline and a boning effect on the bodice; the boning was met by the flowing skirt that she paired with a black, white, and metallic embellished clutch, People reports. W reports that, though the dress was custom made, it was inspired by a similar look that debuted for the brand’s spring/summer 1993 collection. The outlet reports that Amal’s version features a slightly longer, floor-length skirt than the runway iteration, as well as a cinched corset bodice and plunging neckline. In a sea of winter white, Amal’s colorful looks as of late—gold and bronze sequins, seasonal red, and now, this dreamy yellow—make her stand out even more than she already does. (Amal could wear a paper bag and make it look chic.) 

A longtime leading man, George joked that he feels “slighted” by the attention paid to Amal, who, in addition to being fashion-forward and stunningly beautiful, is a brilliant human rights attorney: “My entire career has been reduced to a plus-one now,” he joked. “I did one of those Women in Film things a couple years ago, and I had to introduce myself as ‘Amal Clooney’s husband’ because, honestly, I was dead otherwise.”

George further quipped, after being asked if Amal had any say in The Boys in the Boat, that “I didn’t want to say it, but now that you brought it up, she directed the film,” he said. “The flair, the British flair.” (Amal is both Lebanese and British.) 

It was, in fact, George that directed The Boys in the Boat, which follows the University of Washington’s rowing team that is thrown into the limelight as they compete at the 1936 Olympics. “This inspirational true story follows a group of underdogs at the height of the Great Depression as they are thrust into the spotlight and take on elite rivals from around the world,” an official synopsis of the movie reads. It hits theaters on Christmas Day.

By day, Amal Clooney is a highly respected lawyer and philanthropist; by night, she is a fashion icon, going two-for-two this week with wow factor looks on both Sunday night and Monday night. Last night, she attended the 2023 Fashion Awards at Royal Albert Hall in London, and, as opposed to her black gown the night prior at her husband George Clooney’s London screening of his new film, The Boys in the Boat, Clooney dazzled in glittering gold and bronze.

The show-stopping Atelier Versace gown was goddess level, featuring all-over metallic paillettes that sparkled from all angles. The metallic gold and bronze embellishments varied in size and created an ombré effect on the design, People reports. She accessorized with Cartier jewelry and a coordinating gold clutch.

Her date for the evening was not her husband but rather her mother, Baria Alamuddin, as well as longtime makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury. Ahead of their joint appearance together last night, Tilbury posted on Instagram celebrating the glam she created for Clooney the night before.

Onstage last night, Clooney celebrated Tilbury, presenting her with a Special Recognition Award for her contributions to fashion—which Vogue reports amounts to no less than 180 magazine covers and over 600 editorial and advertising campaigns.

“I first met Charlotte when we were neighbors in Notting Hill, and she did the trial for my wedding makeup,” Clooney said. “I was aghast when she showed up to the house with five suitcases of product. But, by the end of the session, she was not only my makeup artist—she was my friend. At the wedding, she was our guest. When I think about Charlotte, some words that spring to mind are…trailblazer, brilliant, spiritual, savvy, compassionate, fun, dance floor, champagne, all-nighter. I should probably stop there. I adore this woman. She is a dear friend to me and my family. She is generous without limit or calculation, not only to those she loves, but also through her charitable work. George and I are so grateful for her support for The Clooney Foundation. She is all heart and an inspiration to us all.”

We don’t make the rules, but Amal Clooney does. But beyond her role as an international law and human rights lawyer, her precedent-setting purview extends to fashion, too. We’ve seen the law expert wear everything from a breathtaking archival gown by John Galliano for Christian Dior to a classic everyday trench coat when stopping by the United Nations General Assembly. She just set the exemplar for winter 2024's fashion trends while walking the red carpet, too: Clooney wore a velvet corset and trousers, an opulent, dare-to-be-touched ensemble that's ideal holiday party outfit inspiration.

She wore the matching velvet set to the London premiere of The Boys in the Boat with her husband...umm….what’s his name again? Oh yeah—George Clooney! The lawyer's festive velvet corset featured a one-shoulder silhouette and scooping neckline. The hem of her corset had a modernized cropped silhouette, allowing a subtle flash of skin to be on display instead of her top being tucked into her trousers. Speaking of: her matching black velvet trousers were slim and straight, with grosgrain trim along the side panels.

She wore a pair of simple closed-toe stilettos, also in black, and kept her accessories soft-spoken and minimal to let the tailoring of her velvet set dictate the fashion conversation. All Clooney carried was a black evening box clutch with a gold clasp. Her dark hair was parted to the side with side-swept bangs and styled in loose curls. She wore bright red cherry lipstick (a beauty signature of hers), which got us further in the spirit of the winter season.

With her velvet look, Clooney illuminates a nugget of sartorial gold: when in doubt, opt for a matching set. The end result is, without fail, chic and put together. And for party dressing, a corset is a style solution to any last-minute wardrobe problem. The romantic top dresses up an evening ensemble without trying too hard (have you ever gone overboard with the glitz and glam and felt too dressed up at a festive soireé?) and still exuding glamour.

For the holidays, Clooney laid down the legislation of an easy go-to look that can be worn for any season and almost any work event, but especially for when the yuletide is gay. As of this week, it is officially fall, and leave it to Amal Clooney to kick the season off in style. While at the 78th United Nations General Assembly in New York City yesterday, Clooney cut an as ever chic figure perfect for a rainy day in early autumn. Behold, let us admire…

At the U.N. event, Clooney met with U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres and human rights activist Nadia Murad, wearing a cream trench coat, sleeveless emerald midi-dress, and snakeskin pumps.

Clooney’s businesswear look is a departure from the last time we saw (and fell in love with) her look: she went casual and glam in Venice, where she was in town to receive a well-deserved DVF Award for her global work to support victims of human rights abuse.

Today is actually Clooney’s ninth wedding anniversary (her husband is some relatively unknown actor named George, pictured next to her above), so maybe we’ll see a new look from one of our favorite fashion icons to mark the occasion.

The DVF Awards have been top of mind this week, as the fourteenth annual awards ceremony was held in Venice on Thursday and honored the likes of Amal Clooney and Lilly Singh. The DVF Awards are given annually to provide recipients with resources necessary to extend their efforts on behalf of women all over the globe and was named for and conceived by Diane von Furstenberg in 2010 to honor women who have displayed courage, strength, and leadership in their commitment to their causes; each year, each honoree receives a $100,000 grant to continue their work. Past winners include the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Gloria Steinem, Robin Roberts, Hillary Clinton, and Alicia Keys.

Next year at this time, could we add one Meghan Markle to the list? Public relations expert Rochelle White spoke to The Mirror and said that Meghan has “done enough” to have the potential to see her name on the honoree list next year. “I personally think that she could be in the running,” White said. “I feel like she has done enough and is doing enough to potentially win it.”

Long before marrying into the royal family, Meghan was an advocate for the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women. She wrote an op-ed piece for TIME about menstrual health stigma after a trip to India. More recently, this year, she won the Women of Vision Award from the Ms. Foundation for Women. Because of factors like this, White said she wouldn’t be surprised if Meghan gets a DVF Award next year, or maybe the year after. 

“I don’t think she’s stupid in regards to how she puts herself out there, but I don’t also think it’s too strategic,” she said. “I think you’ll probably start to see a bit more personality. I think you’ll see her doing what she loves to do, and what she loves best. After watching their documentary [Netflix’s Harry & Meghan], I think she’s very aware of the eyes that the media has on her. I think she’s very aware of wherever she does.”

Amidst rumors she’s relaunching her Instagram, White said “There were talks a few months ago about her sort of, I think, bringing back her blog platform [“The Tig”] or doing something along those lines,” she said. “So Meghan might be ready to resume her nonprofit endeavors.”

Much like George Clooney supported Amal this week at the DVF Awards, White thinks Prince Harry will be all for it: “I feel like he is supportive of Meghan, and I feel like if they do something together, I think he’ll play his part and show his face, but I think she’s the sort of person that can probably do it with her partner and do it separately,” she said.

Human rights lawyer Amal Clooney and that one guy she’s often seen with—we think his name is George or something?—made a splash this past week in Venice, in town for Amal to receive an award at the 14th Annual DVF Awards (yes, that DVF—Diane von Furstenberg) and for George to premiere his latest directorial effort, The Boys in the Boat, at the 80th Venice International Film Festival. (Venice has long been a special spot for the couple—they married there nine years ago this month.)

At the DVF Awards on Thursday night, Amal was a knockout in a blush lace slip look from John Galliano’s fall 2000 collection for Christian Dior; at the event, she was recognized for her global work for victims of human rights abuse. And during her acceptance speech, Amal couldn’t help but poke a little fun at her (very, very famous) husband, George, who she dedicated part of her speech to: “I am here in Venice with my husband,” she said. “He is a rising star.”

Amal went on to detail that Venice is an integral part of their love story, telling the crowd assembled that “Venice is the place where almost nine years ago we were married. As we sailed through the city in the last two days, I thought how incredibly lucky I am, because somehow our incredibly different worlds collided one day, 10 years ago, in Lake Como. I just think about the millions of things that had to happen in both of our lives to bring us to that moment, and how grateful I am for that luck, my love.”

She continued “I just wanted to say, you, my love, like this city, take my breath away, and you make our lives magical. It is sometimes hard to believe you exist, so thank you for being the brightest light in my life.” The couple’s family is made complete by six-year-old twins Ella and Alexander.

Italian film and art critic Giuseppe Fantasia, who was at the DVF Awards, told People that Amal and George were “very affectionate with each other” throughout the night. And, while George took up deserved real estate in Amal’s acceptance speech, she also used the moment to share a message of hope from former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, who “once said it’s better to light a candle than to curse the darkness, and in this room, I see so many people who are shining their light,” Amal said. Amal also spotlighted her friend Maria Ressa, who The New York Times reports is a Filipino-American journalist who has faced backlash and accusations and was convicted of cyber libel in the Philippines in her fight against dismantling information in the press.

In a press release from the DVF Awards, Amal was chosen for the honor because she “has represented high-profile political prisoners and survivors of mass atrocities, such as the Yazidi women and girls enslaved by ISIS, civilians attacked by Sudanese militia, and government forces in Darfur and female activists imprisoned around the globe.” The release added “Her track record in securing freedom for unjustly detained journalists around the world is unmatched.”

The day after the DVF Awards, the couple departed Venice on Friday after three days there. “The smiling pair were spotted holding hands as they walked down a gangway to a waiting boat,” People reports. 

Amal Clooney looks stunning in Italy as she arrives at the 14th annual DVF Awards. Amal has spent the summer in Italy, and it shows—she looks totally sunkissed in her outfit for Diane Von Furstenberg and The Diller – von Furstenberg Family Foundation’s event.

Amal wore a blush lace slip from John Galliano’s fall 2000 collection for Christian Dior. The slip had an uneven hem and a drop-wait tulle skirt overlay. She accessorized the dress, which she sourced from Tab Vintage, according to Vogue, with metallics. She brought a small bronze clutch and rocked gold strappy heels. She also included a pair of pearl drop earrings with large pear-shaped tones that matched her neutral outfit. And, of course, we can't forget about the best accessory of all: her arm candy for the night, her husband George Clooney. George looked handsome in a black suit and navy blue button-down shirt.

Amal was honored with the DVF Leadership Award at the annual ceremony. “Amal has represented high-profile political prisoners and survivors of mass atrocities, such as the Yazidi women and girls enslaved by ISIS, civilians attacked by Sudanese militia and government forces in Darfur, and female activists imprisoned around the globe. Her track record in securing freedom for unjustly detained journalists around the world is unmatched," a press release from the DVF Awards stated, per People.

Each honoree received a grant to support the organization of their choice.

Amal Clooney and husband George arrived at the Hotel Cipriani in Venice today, color coordinated in navy and white looks and holding hands. They arrived in the Italian city ahead of Amal’s recognition as a winner of the Diane von Furstenberg leadership award for her global work for victims of human rights abuse; the 14th Annual DVF Awards will be held on Thursday.

Amal wore a sleeveless white shift dress stitched with floral outlines in navy and paired the dress with slingback Roger Vivier heels. Clooney wore a navy polo with light blue and white pinstriped pants and tan suede loafers, per People. Both wore sunglasses and held hands as they arrived in the city where they married back in 2014. 

The Clooneys—who share six-year-old twins Ella and Alexander—have a home a little over 200 miles away on Lake Como and are familiar visitors to the area. Amal is an accomplished attorney and, with George, cofounded the Clooney Foundation for Justice in 2016. In March, Amal opened up about her marriage as part of her Women of the Year profile for TIME: “Marriage has been wonderful,” she said. “I have in my husband a partner who is incredibly inspirational and supportive, and we have a home filled with love and laughter. It is a joy beyond anything I could ever have imagined. I feel so lucky to have found a great love in my life, and to be a mother—this is how I get my balance.”  

The feeling is certainly mutual from her husband, who told People in December 2020 how fortunate he felt to be with her: “I feel very lucky in so many ways to have met her,” he said. “We haven’t ever had an argument. You know, everybody’s been slammed together because of the coronavirus and a lot of friends’ relationships have been tested. For us, it’s been really easy.” George praised Amal, specifically for how she “succeeds in so many different ways and stands up for what she believes in,” he said.

“We didn’t fall in love because of our work, but it ended up being something unusual we [share],” George said. “We are really lucky, and we know it.”

In addition to the DVF Awards, Page Six reports the Clooneys are also in town for the 80th Venice International Film Festival, which will feature the movie The Boys in the Boat, directed by George.

She continued her streak of, well, never not looking stunning in an appearance at The Prince's Trust Awards in London, where she opted for a dazzling ankle-length strapless white gown, cinched at the waist and adorned with a red floral print that was perfect for late spring.

The superstar human rights lawyer paired the dress with white pointy heeled pumps and a white clutch bag. She sported black eyeliner and a red lip, and wore her curled, side-parted hair down.

Clooney appeared at the Awards with her mother Baria Alamuddin—glamorous in white satin and feathers—to present the Amal Clooney Women's Empowerment Award alongside Prince Charles. The duo awarded the honor to Tanzila Khan, a Pakistani disability and menstrual hygiene rights advocate.

In a statement, The Prince's Trust group chief executive, Martina Milburn, said, "Since 1976, The Prince’s Trust has championed the immense potential of young people and supported them to gain the skills and confidence they need to succeed. Each year, The Prince’s Trust Awards allows us to celebrate the achievements and admire the resilience of young people across the UK and internationally."

Clooney launched her eponymous award in 2019 to recognize young women's achievements globally. "I am honored to have been invited by Prince’s Trust International to participate in this global initiative celebrating young women who are change-makers in their communities," the lawyer said at the time. "It is a privilege to be able to play a part in a project that will draw attention to incredible young women who are the future leaders of our world."
