Burton's Givenchy is off to a strong—and sheer—start this year. In 2026 alone, Doechii, Renate Reinsve, and Jennifer Lawrence have all worn illusion looks from the British creative's mind. The 2026 Golden Globes welcomed Best Actress nominee Lawrence in the same nude tulle as Jolie's, except hers featured powder-pink floral embroidery decorated the floor-length gown. On Monday, December 30, after eight long years of litigation, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt finally settled their divorce.

While legal experts say a number of factors contributed to the former couple's drawn-out divorce process, a source close to Pitt says one factor topped the list when it came to his decision to finally settle: His girlfriend, Ines de Ramon.

The jewelry designed reportedly pushed Pitt to put an end to the legal battle—which began the better part of a decade ago, when Jolie filed for divorce in 2016—so that their life together could move forward.

“He was influenced by Ines to finally settle,” an insider close to Pitt and de Ramon told Page Six. “Ines wants to have a life together—with possibly children in the future—without the albatross that was the eight-year War of the Roses.”

Pitt and de Ramon were first linked in November 2022, when they were spotted backstage at a Los Angeles Bono concert together and, in February 2024, a source confirmed to People that the couple had moved in together. That source described the decision as the "natural" next step for the couple and said the actor "couldn't be happier" and has "found his spark again" since he started seeing de Ramon.

And it sounds like things can get even better for the couple now that he and Jolie have reached their divorce settlement.

“She has made [it known that] her opinion is that life would be much more enjoyable with this settled,” the Page Six source added of de Ramon encouraging Pitt to settle.

A second source told the outlet that de Ramon is a "positive influence" on Pitt in general, adding that she "has a really good perspective on things"—including the need for Pitt to end the contentious divorce.

"It’s sad how this whole thing has played out, but at least this is progress in the right direction," the source said of the lengthy legal battle. “Both sides realized it was time to move on. It was mutually beneficial to get it done with.”

For her part, Jolie is reportedly happy to have the divorce settled, too. A source close to the actress told People that the 8-year-long process was "horrendous" for Jolie and her lawyer confirmed in a statement that she's "exhausted," but "relieved this one part is over" (Pitt and Jolie's legal battle over their French winery, Chateau Miraval, remains ongoing—possibly forever).

Jolie filed for divorce in 2016, following an incident on a private plane, during which the actress claimed Pitt was abusive toward their six children. The actor was investigated by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services and eventually cleared and Jolie declined to press charges—a decision the People source also touched on.

"She could have pressed charges against him. She could have told the world what happened. She didn’t," the source added. "All she wanted was for Brad to get the help he needed and for their children to get the support they needed to heal."

Although all six of the couple's children were minors when Jolie filed for divorce (and custody disputes were reportedly a part of the settlement negotiations), now only two are still under 18—twins Knox and Vivienne, who are 16. The four older children—Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 19, and Shiloh, 18—are all legally adults and have "virtually no contact" with Pitt, a source told People earlier this year.

Even with the lingering issues in the family (and the former couple's continuing legal battle over a French winery they owned together), finalizing the settlement is a weight off Jolie's shoulders, according to the source, who added that "It gives her some relief" that "this part is finally over."

The better part of a decade after beginning the divorce process, things are officially over between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

Another factor that John Lambros, a family law attorney licensed in Florida, Michigan and Massachusetts who spoke to People about the legal issues surrounding Pitt and Jolie's divorce said could have contributed to the drawn-out settlement saga is bifurcation.

In 2019, the actors' divorce was bifurcated, meaning that they were declared legally single even though their settlement negotiations were ongoing.

“What does everybody want to do when you're in a divorce? You want to get divorced,” Lambros said, explaining that bifurcating the divorce can reduce people's incentive to reach a settlement quickly. “When you bifurcate that case and you grant them their divorce, well, a lot of the pressure of ‘I'm still married’ is gone.”

Although all six of the couple's children were minors when Jolie filed for divorce, now, only the youngest, 16-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, are still under 18. The couple's other four children—Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 19, and Shiloh, 18—are all legally adults and no longer a part of any formal custody arrangement. A source told People earlier this year that Pitt has "virtually no contact with the adult kids."

“His engagement with the younger kids is more limited in recent months because of his filming schedule,” referring to Pitt's production schedule filming the racing movie F1 on-location in Europe.

The source added that Jolie “has the kids most of the time, but, per their agreement, he has visitation with the younger kids.”

In May, Shiloh filed paperwork to legally change her last name from "Jolie-Pitt" to "Jolie," a decision that insiders said was purely her own.

"Shiloh hired her own lawyer and paid for it herself," a source told People at the time.

People reported that Pitt's representatives declined to confirm or comment on the settlement, which Jolie's lawyer described as a "relief" for the actress.

"She doesn’t speak ill of [Pitt] publicly or privately," a source close to Jolie told the outlet. "She’s been trying hard to be light after a dark time."

Angelina Jolie is completely against the idea of her life being turned into a biopic.

During an interview with The Sunday Times, Jolie was asked whether she would ever be the subject of a biopic about her life. "That gets the most insane question award," she told the interviewer.

The actress is currently starring as opera singer Maria Callas in the biopic Maria. Reflecting on the role, and the possibility of being the subject of her own biopic one day, Jolie told the outlet, "When you're a public person and you're playing her... you're conscious of how you would hate for somebody to interpret your life or think they understand your life, so we tried to be thoughtful. Let's hope there isn’t one about my life."

Earlier this year, Jolie revealed that training to sing in Maria was a huge undertaking, particularly as she felt self-conscious about her voice. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Jolie explained, "I don't sing." She continued, "I had somebody in my life who was not kind to me about singing."

Elaborating on an ex-partner who criticized her voice, Jolie told the outlet, "It was a relationship I was in. And so I just assumed I couldn't really sing. I'd been to theater school, so it was weird that it even had an affect on me. I just kind of adapted to this persons opinion. So it took me getting past a lot of things to start singing."

Ultimately, singing for the movie became therapeutic for the mother of six. "It was the therapy I didn't realize I needed," she said in her interview with The Sunday Times. "Singing opera requires you to be as emotionally open as you possibly can be—it's not like singing in the car. It's cathartic. I've never pushed myself or opened myself up in that way, that was daunting."

Meanwhile, Jolie's sons Maddox and Pax worked on the movie as production assistants, which allowed the Changeling star to broach some difficult topics with them. "They were able to consider the relationships in the film and the violence," Jolie told The Sunday Times. Her recent interview is not the first time Jolie has compared her biopic role—and Maria the real-life person—to her own life.

"I’ve been a parent for 23 years. The most beautiful thing about being a parent is that you are not the center of your life," Jolie told the The Hollywood Reporter back in August, while promoting the film and discussing how special it was to have her two sons, Maddox and Pax, on set while filming.

"I have never had a set where my family is not allowed to be there because I’m focusing—I’m not that person. You can climb all over me or visit," she explained at the time. In a 2023 interview with Vogue, Jolie credited her children for keeping her from entering a "darker" place.

"I think, recently, I would’ve gone under in a much darker way had I not wanted to live for them," she explained at the time. "They’re better than me because you want your children to be.”

It's worth noting that not all trench coats are alike. Some come in heavyweight materials like leather and wool, while others favor breezier textiles like cotton gabardine, silk, and denim. Some are hooded and capable of repelling water on rainy fall days. Others are embellished with ruffles and embroidery. The three-piece Dolce & Gabbana fit featured a black blazer over her partially unbuttoned waistcoat, which added a feminine flare to the otherwise traditionally masculine look.

Jolie completed the red carpet look with a pair of black trousers and square-toe heeled boots, once again adding to Jolie's long-history of experimenting with outdated gender stereotypes via fashion.

While attending the 2024 Telluride Film Festival, Jolie, 49, spoke to IndieWire about her portrayal of opera singer Maria Callas in her latest biopic film Maria, and how the actress' taste in music has changed as she has grown older and has experienced her own personal pain and heartbreak.

"I’m 49. I do feel like an older woman now and I embrace that," the actress told the publication. "When I was younger, there were certain pieces of music and certain sounds that matched what I was feeling: I was falling in love, or I was curious about this, or whatever I was going through.

"There is nothing that meets what you’re feeling like opera," she continued. "(Some songs) are so beautiful, so full of hope and so full of yearning. Opera is bigger. It is bigger than we allow ourselves to feel in every moment."

Jolie also opened up about Callas and how her art was an exploration of her pain—something the actress said she felt she understood.

"Discovering, really listening to opera...it's such a complete feeling of being so open and human, and the totality of so much of the tragedies that she lived or played or felt or performed," the actress explained. "Most people carry a great deal of pain. And so much of her art was the exploration of depth of emotion that she was able to connect to because she carried quite a lot.

"So I would never pretend to understand her completely," she added, "but I’m not sure it was an unhappiness as much as it was a relationship to deeply feeling life and tragedy."

While appearing at this year's Venice Film Festival, Jolie spoke somewhat candidly about her own pain and heartache, seemingly alluding to her ongoing divorce from actor Brad Pitt.

Angelina Jolie is one proud mom after video of her daughter Zahara Jolie-Pitt dancing along with her sorority sisters went viral.

On Tuesday, Aug. 27, a source close to the mom of six told People in an exclusive interview that Jolie "is proud of (Zahara), her AKA sisters, and all the extraordinary young women at Spelman."

The comment came after the 19-year-old was filmed dancing with her Alpha Kappa Alpha sisters at Spelman College's "Welcome Back Jam." For the uninitiated, Spelman College is a private, historically Black, women's liberal arts college located in Atlanta, Georgia.

In the viral video, Zahara is seen performing at an AKA Leadership Night for the college's Class of 2028, along with seven of her sorority sisters. According to the publication, the 19-year-old joined the sorority in November, 2023.

The junior joined the AKA sorority last year as a sophomore, and in a video from Essence announced herself again in a dance alongside her sorority sisters.

"My name is Zahara Marley Jolie. And [I] landed all the way from the Golden State in the city full of angels: Los Angeles, California," the teen said at the time.

Even though they're attending the Venice Film Festival this year, there is no chance former couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are going to run into each other, one director claims.

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Venice Film Festival artistic director Alberto Barbera assured the publication that even though Jolie's film Maria and Pitt's film Wolfs will both premiere at the annual event, the executive producers will be far away from one another.

"Angelina will be on the first day, on Thursday [Aug.] 29, and she will leave right after with [Maria director] Pablo Larraín to go to Telluride [Film Festival]," Barbera told the publication at the time. "Brad will arrive only on Saturday, to Venice.

"There is no way that they can cross each other at the Lido," Barbera added.

Pitt and Jolie are still in the midst of intense divorce negotiations after the actress filed for divorce from her former Mr. & Mrs. Smith co-star in 2016, just two years after the pair married in 2014.

According to a source who spoke to People, the pair are still "hashing out" a particularly contentious legal battle over a French winery they previously co-owned, named Château Miraval.

Recently, their divorce and Pitt's reportedly estranged relationship with their shared children made headlines, after their daughter Shiloh Jolie-Pitt petitioned to change her last name on her 18th birthday.

Shiloh's decision to remove her father's surname from her last name was reportedly a “significant decision,” and said it happened after “painful events,” according to a previous report from People.

“Shiloh Jolie did not take out an ‘ad’ announcing any name change, and any press reporting that is inaccurate,” Peter Levine, Shiloh’s attorney, said. “As Shiloh’s attorney, I am required to publish a legal notice because the law in California requires that of anyone who wants to change their name. That legal notice was published in the Los Angeles Times, as is required.”

"Shiloh hired her own lawyer and paid for it herself," a source recently told People, who alluded to Jolie's allegations that Pitt has an "abuse history" as one of the reasons why Shiloh decided to legally petition to change her name.

In court paperwork filed in 2022, Jolie detailed an alleged incident in which she claimed Pitt abused her and her kids in 2016 while on a private plane traveling from France to California, The New York Times reported at the time.

According to the filing, "Pitt choked one of the children and struck another in the face” and “grabbed Jolie by the head and shook her." At one point, Jolie alleges Pitt “poured beer on Jolie; at another, he poured beer and red wine on the children.” According to The New York Times, the incident was investigated but federal authorities declined to press criminal charges against Pitt. Days after the plane trip and alleged incident, Jolie filed for divorce.

In response, Anne Kiley, an attorney for Pitt, said the actor "had accepted responsibility for some things in his past, but he would not accept responsibility for the things he did not do."

Instead, she hit the tarmac in a summer shoe trend I've noticed reporting from Copenhagen Fashion Week and the heart of London: the towering espadrille sandal.

Jolie chose what appeared to be a pair of Christian Louboutin sandals set with leather straps and espadrille soles for her afternoon flight. She paired them back to a version of her day-to-day uniform, a black dress and a longline black trench coat. (So far, designer IDs for all three pieces have yet to be confirmed.)

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's son, Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt, was involved in a traffic accident on July 29, TMZ reported. The 20-year-old was reportedly riding an electric bike when he crashed into the back of a car in Los Angeles, according to the publication.

Law enforcement sources confirmed news of the accident to TMZ, who reported, "[A]s he approached a red light, he rammed into the back of a car stopped at the intersection." The accident reportedly happened during rush hour on Los Feliz Boulevard.

Pax was treated by paramedics at the scene, which was also attended by police officers. Witnesses told TMZ that Pax was "experiencing hip pain, and had apparently suffered a head injury," having not been wearing a helmet when the accident occurred. As a result, Pax was reportedly taken to a hospital in Los Angeles to be treated.

According to TMZ, it was essential Pax got checked out at the hospital as "medics feared he suffered a minor brain bleed in the wreck." Luckily, that doesn't seem to have been the case, with the publication reporting Pax is in stable condition and won't need an extended stay in hospital.

Pax's accident comes after a tumultuous time in his parents' lives, as Jolie and Pitt's divorce battle continues to drag on. Earlier this month, Jolie's lawyer released a statement, which read (via E! News), "While Angelina again asks Mr. Pitt to end the fighting and finally put their family on a clear path toward healing, unless Mr. Pitt withdraws his lawsuit, Angelina has no choice but to obtain the evidence necessary to prove his allegations wrong."

Despite the drawn out legal proceedings, the Maleficent star appears to be in good spirits. "Angie seems very happy and content with her life," a source told People in July 2024. "She's focused on her kids and work. She's involved in projects that she truly cares and feels passionate about." Hopefully Jolie's son Pax will make a speedy recover following his accident.

“In reality, it could not have been avoided,” David Glass, a California-based family law attorney, told People in a recent interview. "She has to file a formal petition with the court to change her name. And she has to run an ad four weeks in a row before the hearing is scheduled, in addition to giving both of her parents written notification.”

In other words, these necessary legal steps cannot be sidestepped, no matter who your parents are or how famous you may be, which can and often do catch the attention of media publications, as was the case with Jolie-Pitt.

"These name change petitions usually run very smoothly and are granted, unless the person has a criminal history and is trying to get away from punishment or liabilities," Glass added. "I’ve never seen one opposed in court."

According to Glass, Pitt "could come to court" and claim that his daughter has successfully or in some way "been alienated against him by the mother," however "because she is no longer a minor, she can essentially call herself whatever she wants.”

On May 17, the day she turned 18, Jolie-Pitt filed a petition to legally change her name from Shiloh Jolie-Pitt to Shiloh Jolie. According to a source who previously spoke to People, Jolie-Pitt hired her own lawyer and paid for their services herself in order to drop her estranged father's surname.

Pitt and Jolie are still in the middle of a highly contentious divorce, following an alleged incident between Pitt, Jolie and their children in 2016.

Though Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt split up in 2016, eight years later they are still not divorced (though they were declared legally single back in 2019). Now, as their divorce battle rages on, Jolie is calling for Pitt to “end the fighting” in their prolonged legal battle, E! News reports.

The battle is long and complicated, but let’s start here: the two became a couple in 2005 after meeting on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith; they finally married after nine years together (and six kids) in 2014. But just two years later, Jolie filed for divorce in 2016, and in addition to their divorce battle, the two have been embroiled in a heated civil suit after Jolie sold her stakes in their once-shared French estate and vineyard, Chateau Miraval. Jolie’s attorney said in a statement yesterday that it is Jolie’s wish to “end the fighting and finally put their family on a clear path toward healing,” adding that unless Pitt withdraws his lawsuit against her, Jolie will have “no choice but to obtain the evidence necessary to prove his allegations wrong,” which include a deeper look into the alleged 2016 plane incident that led to the end of their marriage.

Pitt’s attorney Anne Kiley said of those 2016 allegations that “Brad has owned everything he’s responsible for from day one—unlike the other side—but he’s not going to own anything he didn’t do. He has been on the receiving end of every type of personal attack and misrepresentation.”

Per People, Pitt sued Jolie after she sold her half of Chateau Miraval in October 2021 for $67 million. “He argued that the sale went against a verbal agreement they had,” People writes. “Jolie’s side has said she refused to let him buy her out of the business because she didn’t want to sign his NDA [non-disclosure agreement] as part of the deal.”

Jolie and Pitt purchased the winery in 2008 and were 50-50 partners until 2021, Entertainment Tonight reports. In addition to the lawsuit regarding Chateau Miraval, Jolie and Pitt have also been wrapped up in what Us Weekly calls “messy legal disputes” over the custody of the six children they share—Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne. The twins are the only two of the couple’s six kids to remain underage, as they just turned 16 earlier this month. 

Back in May, on the occasion of her eighteenth birthday, Shiloh hired her own lawyer—and apparently paid for said lawyer herself—to file legal paperwork to drop “Pitt” from her surname (all of the kids carry the last name Jolie-Pitt). Though Shiloh is thought to be the only one of the six to make it legal, Maddox, Zahara, and Vivienne have also reportedly informally dropped “Pitt” from their surname as well—indicative of Pitt’s strained relationship with the kids.

When they split in 2016, Jolie, in addition to filing for divorce, also filed for sole physical custody of the kids. The custody agreement between Jolie and Pitt allows visitation rights to their minor children—with Knox and Vivienne being the only two of the six that remain minors. Jolie and Pitt often “clashed” over their “very different parenting styles” during their time as a couple, People reports, with a source telling the outlet that “During their marriage, they had very different parenting styles. Brad grew up with structure and wanted more rules for the kids. Angie had a different upbringing and wanted the kids to be more independent and responsible for their own schedules from a young age.” 

They added that “Brad and Angie clashed over this. However, they did always have the same vision for their kids’ future. They wanted the kids to thrive by experiencing the world firsthand and not only learn from traditional schooling.”

A separate source told the outlet of Jolie and Pitt that “They still both really care,” they said. “They both care about the children.”

The situation continues to look bleak for Brad Pitt and his six children, all of whom he shares with his ex, Angelina Jolie—People reports that, while Pitt has visitation with his younger children, twins Knox and Vivienne (who turn 16 on Friday), he has “virtually no contact” with his older children Maddox, Zahara, Pax, and Shiloh. The latter made headlines in May for filing paperwork to legally drop “Pitt” from her surname and, though Shiloh is believed to be the only one of the six Jolie-Pitt children to legally file paperwork to remove “Pitt” from her last name, Maddox, Zahara, and even Vivienne have been known to drop it in an informal capacity.

“He has virtually no contact with the adult kids,” a source speaking to People said. “His engagement with the younger kids is more limited in recent months because of his filming schedule,” referring to Pitt being on location in Europe currently, filming the racing movie F1.

They continued that Jolie “has the kids most of the time, but, per their agreement, he has visitation with the younger kids.”

Pitt is both “aware and upset that Shiloh dropped his last name,” a source told the publication; on the occasion of her eighteenth birthday, Shiloh hired an attorney that she apparently paid for herself to take care of the matter. “The reminders that he’s lost his children is, of course, not easy for Brad,” they continued. “He loves his children and misses them. It’s very sad.”

Though Pitt is “still happy with Ines” de Ramon, his girlfriend, the distance from his kids “pains him,” they added.

A different source close to Pitt said that “He still loves all of his kids tremendously,” they said. “This whole process has been very hard for the whole family.”

Though the outlet reports that the actor has been “putting on a brave face” since Shiloh’s May 27 filing, he sees it all as a “symbol of deeper estrangement” and “more than a name change,” a source said.

It was a decision they said “has been brewing for years,” likely following Jolie and Pitt’s split in 2016 after 11 years as a couple, allegedly after an altercation on a plane. Jolie and Pitt began their relationship in 2005 after meeting on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith; Shiloh was born the next year, in 2006. The couple eventually married in 2014 but broke up just two years later; technically, they’re still legally married, as their divorce—specifically custody agreements surrounding their youngest children, twins Knox and Vivienne (who are still underage), and their winery, Chateau Miraval—is still being worked out. That said, they were declared legally single in 2019, and Pitt has romantically moved on with Ines de Ramon, whom he has been dating since November 2022.

Jolie and Pitt share six children: Shiloh, plus Maddox, Zahara, and Vivienne, all of whom have reportedly dropped the “Pitt” surname informally, and Knox and Pax; it remains unknown whether they still use “Jolie-Pitt” or not. The children’s estrangement against him is something another source said Pitt is “finding it extremely difficult to come to terms with,” specifically this recent move by Shiloh.

None of the six children “have much of a relationship” with their father, but he, for his part, is “not ready to give up on them.” (This weekend marks Father’s Day in the U.S., which will no doubt be tough for Pitt.) 

Page Six reports that Pitt is hoping to “forge” a bond with his six children as they “get older and have a life of their own,” insinuating lives away from Jolie, who the outlet reports has used their brood “as a weapon against Brad” and “separated” them from him amid their contentious divorce.

It’s very sad.” Us Weekly’s source told the publication that “all he can do is be the best father he can possibly be,” they said. “He adores his children, and always will.”

According to a source speaking to Us Weekly, the kids have “struggled to forgive and connect with Brad since the divorce,” they said. “Their mom is the head of the household, and she’s raised them with love and selflessness their whole lives. Once Brad left, it was very hard for them to see him go to war with her.” 

Of any potential involvement by Jolie to distance the kids from Pitt, “He feels that the negative narrative Angelina presents to the kids is a major obstacle in his efforts to reconnect,” they said. “With Angelina having daily influence over the children, Brad finds it nearly impossible to change their perceptions.” But, another source counters, “For anyone to suggest she’s controlled them is off base.”

Pitt spoke to GQ in 2017—the year after his breakup from Jolie—and admitted to his shortcomings as a parent: “I grew up with a Father Knows Best, war mentality,” he said. “Instead of really knowing the man [his father] and his own self-doubt and struggles. And it’s hit me smack in the face with our divorce—I gotta be more. I gotta be more for them. I have to show them. And I haven’t been great at it.”

Both Jolie and Pitt almost never speak directly about their divorce, but Jolie told Vogue last September that, in the aftermath of her split from Pitt, she and her children are still “healing”: “We’re still finding our footing,” she said.

Insiders are giving a behind-the-scenes look at how Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's daughter, Shiloh, went about changing her last name.

On May 27, the 18-year-old filed paperwork to legally change her name from Shiloh Jolie-Pitt to Shiloh Jolie, dropping her allegedly estranged father's last name from her surname. TMZ  was first to report Shiloh's legal move to seemingly further separate herself from Pitt, who is still going through a contentious divorce with Jolie.

Now, a source is claiming Shiloh hired and paid for her own lawyer in order to legally drop Pitt from her last name.

"Shiloh hired her own lawyer and paid for it herself," a source recently told People, who alluded to Jolie's allegations that Pitt has an "abuse history" as one of the reasons why Shiloh decided to legally petition to change her name.

According to TMZ, Shiloh filed documents on Monday—the day she turned 18.

"So, it seems this was one of the first things she wanted to do as an adult," the publication reported at the time. “Of course, it’s incredibly telling—it’s no secret Brad has had a strained relationship with some of his kids since he and Angelina filed for divorce...an ugly split that has dragged on in court, even to this day.”

Jolie officially filed for divorce from Pitt in 2016, requesting sole physical custody of their six children.

“Many times, there have been long gaps where he didn't see the kids at all," a source told People back in 2022, adding that the strain between Pitt and his children has been "a sad situation for years."

Meanwhile, according to documents obtained by People, a former security guard for the couple who still works for Pitt claims Jolie allegedly "encouraged" the former couple's children "to avoid spending time" with their father during visits.

In response, Jolie's attorney Paul Murphy issued a statement, claiming that "all Angelina has ever wanted was separation and health, with positive relationships between all members of their family, including Mr. Pitt."

In court paperwork filed in 2022, Jolie also detailed an alleged incident in which she claims Pitt abused her and her kids in 2016 while on a private plane traveling from France to California, The New York Times reported at the time.

According to the filing, "Pitt choked one of the children and struck another in the face” and “grabbed Jolie by the head and shook her." At one point, Jolie alleges Pitt “poured beer on Jolie; at another, he poured beer and red wine on the children.” According to The New York Times, the incident was investigated but federal authorities declined to press criminal charges against Pitt. Days after the plane trip and alleged incident, Jolie filed for divorce.

In response, Anne Kiley, an attorney for Pitt, said the actor "had accepted responsibility for some things in his past, but he would not accept responsibility for the things he did not do."

Shiloh Jolie-Pitt turned 18 years old this week—May 27, to be exact—and celebrated the milestone age with a significant change: her name, which she filed paperwork to legally change from Shiloh Jolie-Pitt to Shiloh Jolie on her birthday this past Monday, TMZ reports. Shiloh is the daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, and this name change would, at least in one very significant way, sever a major tie to her father by dropping his surname.

“Mind you, this doc was literally filed on Monday, which was on Memorial Day, and also happens to be her 18th birthday,” the outlet reports. “So, it seems this was one of the first things she wanted to do as an adult.” The publication added “Of course, it’s incredibly telling—it’s no secret Brad has had a strained relationship with some of his kids since he and Angelina filed for divorce in 2016, an ugly split that has dragged on in court, even to this day.”

Shiloh is one of Jolie and Pitt’s six children, all of whom carried the Jolie-Pitt surname—or at least did. Zahara, another of the ex-couple’s daughters, doesn’t use Pitt in her name anymore, TMZ reports, and their youngest daughter, 15-year-old Vivienne, has reportedly also avoided using “Pitt” in her name; “she was only listed as Vivienne Jolie on a Playbill for an Angelina-produced Broadway musical she was recently working on as a PA,” TMZ writes. (The play, by the way, is The Outsiders.) Jolie and Pitt’s eldest, Maddox, also reportedly doesn’t use “Pitt” in his surname anymore, “but it appears as if Shiloh is the only one of the kids who’s filed to make it count in court,” the outlet reports. 

If her request is granted, Shiloh’s legal name will be Shiloh Nouvel Jolie. In addition to her siblings Zahara, Vivienne, and Maddox, Shiloh has two other siblings, Pax and Knox, who is Vivienne’s twin.

Jolie and Pitt began dating in 2005 after starring together in Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and, controversially at the time, not long after Pitt filed for divorce from Jennifer Aniston. Jolie and Pitt officially married in 2014, but just two years later, Jolie filed for divorce in 2016 “following an alleged altercation during a flight with their children,” Entertainment Tonight reports. “The pair have been entrenched in a lengthy legal battle since,” largely centered around the custody of their children and ownership over their French winery, Chateau Miraval.

Of Pitt’s relationship with his children, “He wishes their relationship was stronger and wants to work on that,” a source speaking to Us Weekly said, adding that the actor is disappointed that he “doesn’t see the kids” as often as he’d like to. 

As far back as August 2022, a source speaking to People said that “it’s been a sad situation for years,” adding “Since Angelina filed for divorce, Brad has been focused on having the best relationship possible with his kids. It’s been very difficult for them. Many times, there have been long gaps when he didn’t see the kids at all.” Yet, they said, “He [Pitt] believes there will be a time when he has a great relationship with his kids again.”

For her part, Jolie’s lawyer said in a recent statement to People that “All Angelina has ever wanted was separation and health, with positive relationships between all members of their family, including Mr. Pitt.”

It's not every day that Angelina Jolie makes a public appearance, but when she does, you can rely on it being an unforgettable fashion moment.

On Thursday, April 11, the Oscar-winning actress attended the opening night (and afterparty) of The Outsiders, a Broadway musical based on S.E. Hinton's 1967 novel and Francis Ford Coppola's 1983 film adaptation. Jolie co-produced the play, while her daughter, Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, worked as an assistant throughout the process.

Jolie transformed into a golden goddess to celebrate the debut showing at New York City's Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre. She wore a dramatic bronze cape layered over a silky metallic maxi gown that swept the floor.

The actress opted for red open-toe heels, a dangling black wristlet, and chunky geometric earrings in silver and gold to complete her look.

For her glam, Jolie perfectly matched the bold energy of her fantastical outfit, boasting a vibrant red lip and styling her sunny blonde hair in a sweeping side part.

Jolie's 15-year-old daughter Vivienne took a more subdued approach to her look, wearing a charming blue jumpsuit and coordinating Converse sneakers.

The late-night event marked the mother-and-daughter duo's first red-carpet appearance since they attended the premiere of the Marvel film Eternals together in 2021.

While on the red carpet, Jolie discussed being a producer on the Broadway show while her daughter took on an assistant role behind the scenes. "Viv is a young artist who focuses her efforts on her support of others," Jolie told People. "She has been there to assist in any way she can and has learned so much from Justin Levine and the whole creative team."

The actress credited her daughter for keeping the play's production running smoothly. “[Vivienne will] correct me. She'll say, 'Didn't you read the memo? We have to do this, we have to go through this.' She's been a really tough assistant," joked Jolie. "She takes it very, very seriously."

Sydney Sweeney recreated an archival look from one of her It-Girl predecessors at the Vanity Fair Oscars party last night. The Euphoria actress wore a silky, ivory Marc Bouwer gown with a plunging halter neckline, exactly two decades after Angelina Jolie wore the exact same dress.

Sweeney and her stylist, Molly Dickinson, leaned into the reference by layering diamond necklaces, custom-made by Messika, similar to Jolie's jewelry in 2004. The actress even held her matching sash in the exact same position as the '90s icon, loosely wrapped around her wrists and draped behind her curves.

The elegant backless number is true to Sweeney's brand of classic feminine silhouettes, with an added level of sophistication.

Angelina Jolie didn't attend the 96th Academy Awards—but she designed a memorable dress for the 2024 Oscars red carpet. The actress, who launched her eponymous and sustainable fashion brand Atelier Jolie in 2023, created a silk A-line gown for Suleika Jaouad, who appears in the Best Original Song-nominated documentary American Symphony alongside her husband, Jon Batiste. Jaouad's dress, a reflective champagne-colored silhouette, marks the first time one of Jolie's creations has been worn on a red carpet.

The gown, crafted of 100 percent sustainable and vintage silk, features hand-drawn paintings created in collaboration with artist Chaz Guest. The artwork was inspired by Batiste and Jaouad's documentary film, which follows the couple's relationship while navigating Jaouad's leukemia diagnosis.

In keeping with Atelier Jolie's tenant of sustainability, Jaouad's Oscars look was completed with vintage jewelry by Neil Lane Couture, dating as far back as the late 1800s.

In addition to adding a red carpet design debut to her resume, Jolie recently teamed up with Chloe’s former creative director, Gabriela Hearst, on a collection for her namesake brand. The collaboration, which launched earlier this year, consists primarily of boho-inspired formalwear—including flowy gowns, heeled pumps, and statement jewelry.

With Jaouad's Oscar dress and her collaboration with Hearst, it's evident Atelier Jolie has already developed a few brand codes in the world of timelessly elegant eveningwear.

When you think "blonde Angelina Jolie," your mind likely travels back to 1999, when Girl, Interrupted hit theaters and the actress kept her movie dye job (but thankfully ditched the haphazard micro-bangs). Now, exactly twenty five years later, Jolie has gone back to her blonde roots.

While leaving her Atelier Jolie store in New York on Wednesday, February 21, the 48-year-old was seen with a new head of shiny, dirty blonde hair. Laying a few inches past her shoulders, her hair was blown out sleek and straight, looking incredibly glamorous even though the wind wasn't on her side.

Jolie's brunette-to-blonde transformation has been in the works for a while. In December, the Oscar winner was spotted walking around the East Village with an ombré hair color, her natural dark roots transitioning to a warm blonde at mid-lengths. This slow color change-up is a good thing for multiple reasons: It gives beauty lovers more hairstyles to take in, and it's a sign Jolie is taking care of her hair.

“Don’t be impulsive when it comes to being blonde,” celebrity hairstylist Barb Thompson previously told Marie Claire while discussing healthy blonding. “I tell most clients to give me at least three appointments to get the inspiration for blonde that they have. It’s a marathon not a sprint.”

Because bleach is involved, transitioning to a lighter hue can be incredibly damaging. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's highly publicized and contentious divorce is reportedly close to being finalized, according to TMZ.

In court documents obtained by the outlet, the former couple are both "serving their final financial disclosures on the other party," a significant development in the proceedings as it's the first "movement," the outlet notes, on their court case in "at least a couple years."

TMZ went on to report that the "terms of any overall settlement of the divorce haven't been filed yet," before adding that the recent filing on Thursday "indicate that one of the most legendary marriages and acrimonious divorces in recent Hollywood history is finally coming to an end."

Pitt and Jolie first met on the set of the 2005 film Mr. & Mrs. Smith when Pitt was still married to Friends actress Jennifer Aniston.

In a 2006 interview with People, Jolie said she "didn't know much about exactly where Brad was in his personal life" when they met.

"But it was clear he was with his best friend, someone he loves and respects. And so we were both living, I suppose, very full lives," she told the publication at the time. "I think we were the last two people who were looking for a relationship. I certainly wasn't. I was quite content to be a single mom."

By the end of 2004, Jolie said her and Pitt realized "it might mean something more than we'd earlier allowed ourselves to believe."

"And both knowing that the reality of that was a big thing, something that was going to take a lot of serious consideration," she added.

In 2005, Aniston filed for divorce from Pitt citing irreconcilable differences, as People reported.

Shortly after, Pitt and Jolie went on vacation together with her in Kenya, confirming they are a couple. After Pitt's divorce from Aniston was finalized, Jolie changed her two adopted children's last names to Jolie-Pitt and confirmed she was pregnant with the former married couple's first child, Shiloh, before later confirming she was also pregnant with twins.

The pair eventually married in France in 2014, as Elle reported. But two years later, in 2016, Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt citing "irreconcilable difference" and sought sole physical custody of their children.

One of her attorneys, Robert Offer, released the following statement at the time: "This decision was made for the health of the family. She will not be commenting, and asks that the family be given its privacy at this time."

According to Page Six, one of the reasons why Jolie filed for divorce stemmed from alleged incident that occurred between Pitt, Jolie and some of their children on a private flight.

In court documents obtained by the outlet in 2022, Pitt allegedly “choked” one of his children and “grabbed” Jolie by the head.

In a countersuit, Jolie allegedly attempted to intervene and "grabbed" Pitt from behind.

Angelina Jolie's big brother, James Haven, is opening up about what he feels his role is as a sibling and uncle and as his younger sister continues her divorce proceedings from estranged husband, Brad Pitt.

In a recent interview on the 90who10 podcast, Haven was asked about his "very close" relationship with his sister.

(If you recall, in 2000 Jolie famously kissed her brother on the lips after winning an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Girl, Interrupted and people collectively lost their minds.)

In response, Haven said that he has been supportive of her sister and his six nieces and nephews as their personal life continues to unfold "in the public eye.”

"That’s where it all started," the proud big brother said. "It started with the protection of her and her children—my nieces and nephews.”

Haven went on to say that he has the ability to "set my life up so I can be present with whatever the situation."

“I want to be there for them or for her," he added. "Whatever she’s going through.”

For the uninitiated, Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in September, 2016. The actress accused her estranged husband of “physically and verbally” assaulting her and their children during a flight on a private jet and just days before she ended the relationship, BuzzFeed reports.

Pitt was cleared of any wrongdoing following the initial investigation, according to BuzzFeed, though his lawyer said in a statement in 2022 that he “has owned everything he’s responsible for from day one," Yahoo reports.

Jolie and Pitt share six children—Maddox, 22; Pax, 20; Zahara, 18; Shiloh, 17; and twins Knox and Vivienne, 15.

“They’re becoming young adults, early 20s,” Haven said in the same podcast interview. “I think it’s just very natural and I just want to be there any time. Anytime I’m blessed to be in their presence, I want to be in their presence."

These days, it seems like everybody wants to reinvent the wheel when it comes to fashion. Jolie sported a long black coat, black trousers, black-pointed-toe shoes (perhaps the same as her other look?), and a black puffer-style handbag. Zahara seemingly took style cues from her mom, wearing a black puffer with Converse sneakers.

Jolie's children are usually far from the public eye, but Atelier Jolie is a creative collection Jolie is collaborating with her 18-year-old daughter, Zahara. Perhaps this means more street-style moments from the pair are imminent? Fingers crossed!

On Wednesday, Dec. 27, Jolie and her 18-year-old daughter were both spotted leaving Atelier Jolie in New York City and near-matching all-black ensembles—Jolie in black slacks paired with a shin-length black petty coat, oversized black bag, black heels, and black glasses.

Not to be outdone, Jolie-Pitt was seen wearing a black puffy jacket, loose-fitting black slacks, paired with a black clutch and an always-in-style pair of Converse sneakers.

Atelier Jolie is a creative collective founded by Jolie in November, 2023, alongside her 18-year-old daughter, who found the building—once rented out by Andy Warhol—"while hunting for downtown retail spaces," according to an interview with the actress for Vogue.

“I can be very impulsive, but Zahara is so grounded, decisive, and thoughtful,” Jolie told the publication at the time. “When she agreed, I felt we were both decided.”

The 48-year-old actress and UN Refugee Agency Goodwill Ambassador and Special Envoy went on to say that she has "met a lot of artisans over the years—very capable, talented people—and I’d like to see them grow."

“I don’t want to be a big fashion designer," she added. "I want to build a house for other people to become that.” 

Before founding Atelier Jolie with the help of her daughter, Jolie said she had "a lot of healing to do" after her very public divorce with actor Brad Pitt, which was first announced in 2016.

“We had a lot of healing to do. We’re still finding our footing,” she told the publication.

The need for personal healing and growth played a consequential role in Jolie's decision to create an environment in which others in search of self-discovery and reprieve can find comfort, support and collaboration.

“I want a woman to feel safe enough that she can be soft…After I went through something where I was hurt, I had a therapist ask if I would try wearing a flowing garment,” said Jolie in the same interview.

"I don’t feel like I’ve been myself for a decade,” she added. For her, Atelier Jolie is a healing environment where she’s able to “work in a creative space with people (she can) trust and to rediscover (herself).”

Chloé unveiled its exclusive collab today with Atelier Jolie, Angelina Jolie’s newly-launched fashion brand and creative collective. The collection focuses primarily on eveningwear, promising to “fuse fluid, feminine silhouettes with graceful fabrics," as detailed in a press statement from the French Maison. Jolie, the fashion-loving actress, filmmaker, founder, and humanitarian behind Atelier Jolie, created the collection in conjunction with Chloe’s former creative director, Gabriela Hearst. The designs aren't available to shop until early 2024, but luckily, Jolie and Hearst offered a sneak peek into what the drop will entail.

Expect to see elegant dresses with relaxed silhouettes and sophisticated outerwear layered over chic, airy staples. Some of the designs were inspired by pieces from Jolie’s personal closet, including an embroidered white cotton dress she wore as a child that she’s repurposed as a top. Neutrals take over the collection, as Jolie designed the collection to suit a variety of skin tones. You can look forward to whites, beiges, sooty browns, and blacks to shine here.

The collection leans into a core theme of sustainability, a mission that both Jolie and Hearst have long championed. The collaboration utilizes deadstock (previously unused fabrics or leftover scraps from atelier production) to lower its carbon footprint and raise its sustainability score. Natural fabrics are slated for the collection, where flowy dresses will be made of organic silk, organic crepe de chine, and certified wool. The collection comprises at least 80 percent lower-impact materials, a higher percentage than any previous collection from the B-Corps-certified fashion house.

Feminine power is personified in this collection, from soft fabrics that express casual femininity to a long black velvet opera cape that can elevate your outerwear. A flowing white dress with a ruched neckline in deadstock sand-colored micro silk sable gives a modern style that can be worn day or night. The Maison paired its iconic Lavallière shirt in deadstock textured silk satin with crisp, tailored black velvet pants. Angelina Jolie is opening up in a new interview with Vogue, revealing in its November 2023 cover story that she didn’t feel like herself and felt down “for a decade” after her contentious and tumultuous split from Brad Pitt in 2016 after 12 years together—but that her experience as a mother was a lifeline.

“I was 26 when I became a mother,” said Jolie (who has six children). “My entire life changed. Having children saved me—and taught me to be in this world differently. I think, recently, I would’ve gone under in a much darker way had I not wanted to live for them. They’re better than me, because you want your children to be.”

Jolie continued that it is her hope that she serves as a “safe place” for her children, “but I’m also the one that they laugh at—and I see them taking over so many different aspects of our family,” she said.

Jolie—who is currently producing a Broadway musical—admitted she feels “a bit down these days,” and said she hasn’t felt like herself for a decade, though she didn’t delve into why. “We had a lot of healing to do,” she said. “We’re still finding our footing.”

Jolie appears on the cover of Vogue “in a striking white strapless gown adorned with pink spray paint, using the platform to promote her new fashion venture, Atelier Jolie,” Entertainment Tonight reports. Of the brand, Jolie said “I don’t want to be a big fashion designer. I want to build a house for other people to become that. I’m hoping to change many aspects of my life. And this is the forward-facing me.”

Atelier Jolie is more than just a fashion label, but also a platform to empower women to embrace their vulnerability: “I want a woman to feel safe enough that she can be soft,” Jolie said. “After I went through something where I was hurt, I had a therapist ask if I would try wearing a flowing garment. Sounds silly, but I assumed that pants and boots projected a ‘tougher’ look, a stronger me…Now I wonder if…I don’t know what my style is, because I’m still understanding who I am at 48.”

After meeting on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith in 2005, Jolie and Pitt became one of Hollywood’s most famous couples, eventually marrying in 2014. Their marriage ended in 2016 “after an alleged altercation during a private flight with their children,” Entertainment Tonight reports. Pitt was accused of “choking and striking” their son, Maddox, although no charges were ever filed, and he denies the claims. Since their split, the two have been locked into a legal battle over custody of their children and ownership of a winery they once co-owned; in May 2021, they were granted joint custody, “but the decision was later overturned, leaving the matter unresolved to this day,” Entertainment Tonight reports.
