Jennifer Lopez has a large collection of Hermès bags, meaning she has one for just about every occasion. Case in point: to attend Ariana Grande's Eternal Sunshine Tour at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, Lopez selected a rare Hermès Kelly bag, which perfectly suited the outing.

The Office Romance star accompanied their child Emme Muñiz, along with Ben Affleck's son, Fin Affleck, to the in-demand Grande concert. Lopez appeared to be carrying her Hermès Havane Shiny Porosus Crocodile Sellier Kelly 35 Bag, which routinely trades hands for more than $20,000, for the night out.

Before Jonathan Anderson unveiled his first collection as Dior's creative director last October, fashion people wondered how he would reimagine the most iconic house codes. First, he stamped every single style with Dior's original lowercase logo. Then, he gave the Book Tote a more literal makeover, trading the Toile de Jouy Sauvage motif for actual book covers. Last but not least, the grand finale: never-before-seen accessories like the Cigale Bag joined the Spring 2026 lineup.

The designer's take on the one-strap bag trend appeared in more shades and finishes than any other Anderson-era purse, including black, burgundy, peony pink, terracotta alligator, and even Himalayan croc. Each version brought its Fall 1952 namesake—Christian Dior's equally architectural "La Cigale" dress—back to life as a strong yet graceful It bag.

Anderson told Business of Fashion the Cigale is one of his "favorite dresses in history," setting high expectations for its accessory conversion. "I was never going to start Dior without referring to it, because for me, it is one of the greatest feats of engineering in terms of a dress." A press release further revealed he was especially inspired by the tea-length dress's "fitted bodice, full moiré skirt, and pronounced pleats."

As the eye scans the silhouette, the Cigale Bag mirrors the artifact's structural, lean-to-voluminous evolution. The dress—which also influenced former lead designers like Raf Simons and Maria Grazia Chuiri—is proof a reference this timeless will never run the risk of feeling overdone.

Before the Cigale became a pop star essential, Monica Barbaro and Greta Lee styled the trapezoidal, top-handle tote in Dior's Paris Fashion Week front row. Lee modeled the bag's metal-ring bow beneath sky blue leather, a Spring 2026 color trend that didn't make it on the runway. Then, fellow brand ambassador Barbaro gave the peony pink Cigale an off-the-catwalk close-up.

Within minutes, the One Night Only star's bag took center stage in Anderson's debut fashion show. Fashion people in the front row probably didn't put two and two together that quickly. But before long, constant Cigale sightings were guaranteed.

Within weeks, Dior Cigale became a fixture of pop star fashion. Ariana Grande was absent from Anderson's first womenswear front row, but clearly, she and her stylist, Law Roach, watched from afar. The black Cigale modernized the Grammy winner's vintage-heavy Dior collection in the midst of her Wicked: For Good press tour.

By wearing the new Dior design in New York City, Grande gave fans a closer look at the Cigale's hidden logo. Two silver or yellow gold grommets atop the back of the bag kept the singular, short strap structured. One of the oversize eyelets doubled as the "O" in Dior.

A few months later, the Dior Cigale was noticeably absent from January's Couture Spring 2026 show. But it didn't skip Couture Week altogether. The night after Rihanna RSVP'd "yes" to Anderson's latest showing, she flaunted the shrunken Small Cigale all around Paris.

Its envelope-style body and petal-like bow seemed to be about half the size of Grande's version. What used to be matte, smooth, and texture-free suddenly became super glossy atop croc-embossed leather. Even the top-handle strap changed from calfskin to chainlink. Perhaps this was a custom gift from Anderson to brand ambassador RiRi.

It seems Anderson enlisted the help of Rihanna to tease the Dior Cigale's next era. The one-strap bag returned throughout the Fall 2026 fashion show, but the folded, now-recognizable leather looked more eccentric than ever. Neutral Cigales remained an everyday celebrity staple, but powder blue croc, dark green lizard, and pebbled polka-dotted leather fit for maximalists joined the roster, too.

By mid-May's Cruise 2027 show, Dior added leading color trend to its ever-expanding palette Cigale palette: butter yellow. Who better to present it than Sabrina Carpenter, a pro-butter It girl since 2024? The "Nonsense" singer's naked dress and pastel Cigale were shade-matched to perfection. Even her bow-tied mules got the butter yellow memo.

The Dior Cigale is collecting It colors left and right, but in the end, it's Hollywood's most beloved black bag of 2026. Everybody needs one, even Taylor Swift. One month after the pop star fueled Toy Story 5 soundtrack rumors with Anderson's Pixar ball-yellow Lady Dior, the black Cigale third-wheeled Swift's date night at the NBA Eastern Conference Finals.

As if the Dior Cigale wasn't enviable enough, more endorsements from Jennifer Lawrence, Karlie Kloss, and Charli xcx proved it's already becoming a status symbol. Right now, an in-person appointment is required to get your hands on the Cigale. Spring 2026 shades will currently set you back $4,900 or $5,500, depending on small or medium sizing. The price tags for exotic Fall 2026 finishes remain a mystery, however.

The nine-month-old Dior Cigale already has all the makings of a collector's item: Its shape is effortlessly chic, its craftsmanship top-tier, and its shoppable status just elusive enough. Fashion people of yesteryear likely used those exact truths when introducing the Lady Dior, Saddle, and Book Totes. Welcome to the family, Cigale.

Not even a blurry TikTok livestream could stop Ariana Grande's eternal sunshine tour outfits from shining. That's how I experienced the tour's June 6 kickoff in Oakland, California. Still, her custom costumes from McQueen, Givenchy, and more made me feel like I was scream-singing "thank u, next" a Christian Louboutin boot's length from Grande herself.

The pop star split her two-hour concert into five acts, each spotlighting her fan-favorite eras and their equally iconic aesthetics. Dressed in custom Ludovic de Saint Sernin, Grande opened the show with "yes, and?"

Stylist Law Roach chose a halter-neck mini dress that brought out her confident, sultry side. Its lace corset was partially sheer, much like the tights she slipped into six-inch-high, over-the-knee boots. Yes, her iconic ponytail returned to center stage, right where it's always belonged.

Grande performed "the boy is mine" in the same Ludovic de Saint Sernin design, except with a Catwoman-inspired mask. She wore a similar headpiece in "the boy is mine" music video, but longtime Arianators know she rarely took off cat ears from 2014 to 2016.

After a quick costume change, Grande found her spotlight again in a peony pink McQueen dress. The "thank u, next" number began as a plunge corset bodysuit, before its asymmetrical skirt transformed into distressed fringe. That way, you could see her matching thigh-high boots from Christian Louboutin. For finishing touches, the "7 rings" singer accessorized with a matching scrunchie around her ponytail and a Swarovski choker necklace.

By act three, Grande re-emerged in a New York City label beloved by pop stars like Katy Perry, Blackpink's Lisa, and Taylor Swift. Wiederhoft sculpted her semi-sheer bodysuit from scratch, embroidering rose gold floral appliqués above the bone-in corset. The dress's tiered tutu—as well as her lace-up Christian Louboutin pumps—looked fresh from a ballerina's wardrobe rack.

To celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Dangerous Woman, Grande embraced the 2016 album's grungy color palette in custom Vivienne Westwood. The same label behind some of her most glamorous Wicked looks layered black lace over the asymmetrical dress's deep purple foundation. Grande's satin choker, mesh opera gloves, and knee-high boots elevated the look to new levels of witchy-chic.

Once Grande nailed the last high note in her ballad section, she ran backstage where Roach was waiting with a Givenchy by Sarah Burton mini dress. Her square-neck style was the most bedazzled design of the evening by far. Ombré rhinestones sparkled from the fitted bodice onto the oversize bow and even her custom Givenchy Shark Boots.

Grande named this stretch of shows the eternal sunshine tour, meaning she couldn't end opening night without an homage to the album cover. Her final stage-grazing, empire waistline gown also hailed from Burton's Givenchy studio.

The Bridgerton-esque bodice mirrored the short sleeves of babydoll dresses, except the train stretched a few feet beyond Olivia Rodrigo's viral hems. Turns out, Roach kept the lacy skirt that long on purpose—to add even more drama to Grande's grand exit. It dangled oh-so elegantly as she floated up into the ceiling, just like she did on the March 2024 album cover.

Grande already has six outfit changes under her eternal sunshine belt—and she still has 40 shows to go. It's unclear if Grande and Roach plan to debut new looks each night, but with their connections to the industry's buzziest designers, it could happen. Either way, I'll be watching the next TikTok livestream just as closely.

2026 is the year of fashion music videos, according to my favorite pop stars. First, Sabrina Carpenter revived the hot pants trend in "House Tour." Soon after, Olivia Rodrigo styled one of Jane Birkin's dresses for "Drop Dead." On June 1, Ariana Grande set her new era in motion with the prettiest lemon yellow dress in her "hate that i made you love me" music video.

Grande has Steven Spielberg-level aspirations for her music videos—releasing five-minute films with detailed sets, costumes, and storytelling. This time around, she haunts her fictional boyfriend, played by Justin Long, after he buries her underground. Not a single speck of dirt stained her custom tea-length dress from Danish label AKNVAS, though.

Grande reunited with stylist Law Roach for the lead single on her upcoming album, petal. The dynamic duo declared this era a polished, 1950s-inspired detour from eternal sunshine's Penny Lane coats and '70s-esque prints. The dress's sunshine-y shade of lemon yellow makes her unmissable beneath the video's moody, blue-green filter. Roach knew if the midi was another Spring 2026 color trend (say, butter yellow) the star of the show might've blended into the background too much.

Grande looks prim and proper in the sleeveless dress, which features a plunge neckline, teeny-tiny bows atop each strap, and a monochrome belt. Creative director Christian Juul Nielsen stacked the delicately-pleated, calf-length skirt over various voluminous petticoats. Each seamless layer mirrors the eerily picture-perfect energy of Grande's character. It almost looks creepier than a disheveled, fresh-from-the-grave costume would've (especially in front of a burning car).

Grande sings her single's chorus in equally refined accessories, including a choker necklace with two pearl pendants. Matching earring studs felt just as nostalgic as her French manicure. Director Christian Breslauer (the same creative behind Grande's Brighter Days Ahead short film) only captures the "Into You" singer's pointy pumps every once and awhile. But the stilettos seem shade-matched to her lemon dress in a gingham pattern.

Toward the end of Grande's performance, the main character's lemon midi trades places with ten looks, each portraying a different customer in a local diner. Two newsboy caps, a couple shirt dresses, and oversize suits fill just some of the restaurant booths. But before long, Grande is back in the AKNVAS design and burying her on-screen boyfriend.

As a longtime Arianator, I'm shocked to see Grande wearing something so colorful in her latest music video. In "34+35," she stuck to pastels; for "yes, and?" she danced in black-and-white Paula Abdul-coded looks; and "we can't be friends" remixed melancholy neutrals.

Perhaps she and Roach were inspired by the lemon yellow revival on Celine, McQueen, Loewe, and Dries Van Noten's spring runways. Regardless, the look sets a flashy style tone for future music videos—and maybe even her eternal sunshine tour, which kicks off on June 6.

Unless there's a big, shiny trophy involved, Ariana Grande is not showing up. That's why she's made appearances at this year's Golden Globes and AFI Awards. And with the Actor Awards (formerly, the Screen Actors Guild Awards) red carpet officially kicking off, fans are patiently awaiting Grande's arrival.

Unfortunately, the Wicked: For Good star has confirmed she won't be attending, despite her nomination for Outstanding Performance in a Supporting Role (the same nom she received last year). According to E! News, she's busy rehearsing for her upcoming Eternal Sunshine Tour, which begins June 6 in Oakland, CA.

“Thank you so much for this tremendous honor @actorawards @sagaftra, for recognizing this performance a second year in a row, and for including me in this group of magnificent women," Grande wrote on Instagram Stories following the announcement. "I'm so so moved thank you... I adore being part of this community and this acknowledgement means more than words can say."

The snub will deprive fans of what would surely be another memorable fashion moment—if last year's look is any indicator. In 2025, Grande attended her first-ever SAGs for her role in Wicked. Naturally, she went Glinda-inspired all the way, sporting a gauzy pink gown by Loewe with a draped, off-the-shoulder detail. The bodice was covered in pink blooms made from feathers, which trailed down its flowing skirt. Stylist Mimi Cuttrell accessorized her client in diamonds by Jared Atelier.

Thankfully, the 2026 Actor Awards red carpet is already awash with stylish stars who are more than capable of filling Grande's sartorial void. A-listers like Dove Cameron, Quinta Brunson, and Kristen Bell have already made their appearance on the famed step-and-repeat, with many more soon to follow.

Fans couldn’t be happier Wicked hit theaters in two parts: It confirmed Ariana Grande’s presence at the Golden Globe Awards in 2025 and 2026. Tonight, the two-time “Best Supporting Actress” nominee returned with one last anti-Glinda-coded Globes look up her sleeve.

Earlier this week, Variety reported Cynthia Erivo would miss the January 11 ceremony due to Dracula rehearsals in London’s West End. (She’s busy prepping to play 23 characters in the one-woman show.) Thankfully, her co-star held down the sartorial fort on the red carpet—in Elphaba Noir, no less. Stylist and image architect Law Roach sourced an off-the-shoulder black dress on Grande’s behalf from Vivienne Westwood Couture. A crimped chiffon covered the corseted foundation, before cascading into a voluminous ballgown.

Sure, the shade channeled Elphaba's aesthetic more than Glinda's, but the bubble-like train still revived the Good Witch's signature silhouettes. She's no stranger anti-Glinda gowns: see her Wicked: For Good after-party pick last November. Another angle revealed the pleated gown's plunging V-neck back, plus the skirt's bustled bum. The textured fabric called for few accessories, including diamond studs and a matching necklace, both from Swarovski.

Grande seems like the star to own shelves stocked with Golden Globes, but she made her debut just last year. Before the Sunday evening soirée, Grande scored an invite to the first-time nominee luncheon, alongside Mikey Madison, Zoe Saldaña, and more.

Still, she looked every bit a veteran in a vintage tea-length dress, courtesy of Dior's Fall 1959 collection. The 65-year-old dress was her oldest archival look, until she attended November's Wicked: For Good London premiere in a circa-1952 design crafted by Wizard of Oz costume designer Gilbert Adrien himself. Just like magic, the satin Dior dress didn't look a day over 50.

Fans should've known Grande's vintage streak would stretch onto the actual 2025 Golden Globes red carpet. (The luncheon was, for all intents and purposes, her practice round.)

On Jan. 5, she took a more subtle approach to Glinda method dressing in a butter yellow, empire-waist column dress from Givenchy's archives. The Spring 1966 Couture slip started with a strapless, hand-beaded bodice, before cascading into a petal-like skirt. Opera gloves, a Swarovski tennis necklace, and matching diamond drop earrings added that Old Hollywood charm you know and love her for.

Wicked: For Good may be out of theaters, but Glinda will live on in Grande's glamour forever. Take her Golden Globes look as proof: Fans would've never seen her in Vivienne Westwood Couture without the Good Witch's preppy, yet poised influence.

Happy awards season, folks! Tonight, we celebrated the 83rd annual Golden Globes, a moment to honor film and TV excellence and feast on red carpet greatness.

Actors have spent months building buzz (Timothée Chalamet, for one, climbed to the top of the Las Vegas Sphere) and preparing for tonight, the second stop on the 2026 award circuit. Audiences have also done their fair share, whether it was by imitating Parker Posey's North Carolinian twang or experiencing the two-hour and forty-two-minute adrenaline rush of One Battle After Another.

But before presenters started handing trophies out—and we made our best-dressed list—we pregamed on the 2026 Golden Globes red carpet with diamonds, suits, and plenty of glamour. Wicked: For Good’s Ariana Grande (sadly without Cynthia Erivo this time) wore a corseted black Vivienne Westwood gown, and Teyana Taylor's custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture featured, erm, "butt cleavage." Jenna Ortega's gothic Dilara Findikoglu dress, with side peek-a-boo panels and beaded fringe, and Jennifer Lawrence's Givenchy naked dress were also among the evening's highlights.

Lastly, let's hear it for the boys: Heated Rivalry stars Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams made quite the commotion in sharp Saint Laurent and Giorgio Armani suits, respectively. Chalamet showed up in custom Chrome Hearts and an unexpected plus-one that wasn't Kylie Jenner: a teeny-tiny mustache. (Jenner bypassed the red carpet and later joined the Marty Supreme star during the ceremony.)

Calling an under-30-year-old runway look "vintage" started many a heated internet debate last award season. But no one could argue with Ariana Grande's circa-1950s selects on the Wicked: For Good press tour. On January 9, however, she got everyone talking in one of her youngest vintage looks yet, courtesy of a 2000s Vivienne Westwood line.

With the 2026 Golden Globes approaching on Jan. 11, Grande rehearsed her step-and-repeat at the AFI Awards Luncheon. Everyone from Gwyneth Paltrow and Teyana Taylor to Mia Goth and Laura Dern RSVP'd "yes," while Grande held down the Wicked: For Good fashion fort. (Cynthia Erivo isn't predicted to attend, because she's preparing to portray 23 roles in London's Dracula.)

Stylist Law Roach began Grande's Globes weekend with a strapless Vivienne Westwood skirt set, crafted entirely from pink Chantilly lace. A near-invisible corset added structure to the peplum top, which covered the skirt's waistline. Pleats atop either side of the layered, silk-and-tulle maxi added extra volume. Kerry Taylor Auctions styled the skirt the same way during its Dec. 2024 bidding, when the set sold for £2,470.

In true Grande form, she limited her jewelry stack to $7,610 pearl earrings from Irene Neuwirth. She bookended the studs with pointy ivory pumps—her only other accessory.

Technically, Grande is still in her Glinda stage. Wicked: For Good will soon compete for the Award for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement at the Golden Globes, while Grande is up for Best Supporting Actress–Motion Picture. In November, Ariana Grande' took home the trophy for the Oldest Vintage Look of 2025: a circa-1952 Gilbert Adrian ballgown at the Wicked: For Good London premiere, crafted by The Wizard of Oz costume designer himself. But in terms of the year's best vintage looks overall, selects stretched far beyond the yellow brick road.

Every major red carpet in 2025—from TV show premieres to the Cannes Film Festival—came with trips deep into designers' archives. Some stylists worked overtime to secure pieces with references to their clients' latest on-screen characters; others evoked Old Hollywood award-winners with references to red carpets of decades past. Across the board, these pieces felt even rarer than a bespoke gown, because they were stitched with history.

One celebrity-beloved designer was the bridge that merged all step-and-repeat circuits together: John Galliano. The British creative's takeover began in February, when Keke Palmer tracked down a tangerine corset dress from Galliano's Dior tenure. Then, Wednesday actor Jenna Ortega. matched Palmer's energy in the newspaper print dress, originally worn by Sarah Jessica Parker's Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City. That same month at 'Orêbella's launch party, Bella Hadid got her hands on a chainmail slip dress, courtesy of John Galliano's Fall 1997 line.. Grande arrived in an anti-Glinda black gown, piggybacking off the evening prior. It wasn't just any ballgown, but a circa-1952 design from The Wizard of Oz's Gilbert Adrian. Knowing Grande and Roach, it's on display in her mansion now that Wicked has wrapped.

For the Oct. 21 premiere of All's Fair, Kim Kardashian celebrated her 45th birthday in archival Dior by John Galliano. The SKIMS founder made headlines for sourcing the brand's Spring 2000 collection. Embroidered diagonal panels, plus a plunging neckline, added edge to the otherwise classic mermaid silhouette.

This piece originally debuted on the runway with an avant-garde jockey helmet and Dior's Saddle Bag. Kardashian, however, decided the dress was divine enough on its own.

Ariana Grande returned to host Saturday Night Live for her best friend Bowen Yang's final episode as a cast member on December 20, 2025. While the show was undoubtedly emotional, Grande brought her post-Wicked style to the stage, delivering her opening monologue in vintage Vivienne Westwood.

The very same gown—described as a "Vivienne Westwood Pale Blue Silk Taffeta and Tulle Couture Bridal Dress"—recently sold on a resale site for approximately $27,000. The strapless gown features asymmetric layers and exquisite draping made from a beautiful powder blue fabric. The outfit was a perfect continuation of the aesthetic the pop star—and stylist Law Roach—have been cultivating throughout the Wicked: For Good press tour.

Taken from Vivienne Westwood's Fall/Winter '05 Bridal Couture collection, the gown looked as though it was made specifically for Grande. The jaw-dropping powder blue dress evoked Disney princesses like Cinderella, and also felt fitting for the season's Winter Wonderland vibes.

Since Saturday Night Live hosts trade one costume for another, fans rarely see the star's out-of-character looks. Filming pre-show promos, however, allows their true sartorial prowess to shine through. On December 18, this week's host, Ariana Grande, filmed SNL ads in a vintage Bob Mackie gown, originally worn by a fellow Funny Girl.

Luckily for fans, Grande's archival streak didn't end with Wicked: For Good's conclusion in late November. This time, Grande and stylist Law Roach flexed their secondhand sourcing muscles with their oldest non-Wicked-related find: a 52-year-old gown from Carol Burnett's closet. Without Grande's Instagram post, you might've thought Bob Mackie crafted the halter neckline and column skirt just for her.

An orange, brown, and yellow color story makes its origin impossible to deny: It was quintessentially '70s. Diagonal chevrons decorated the entire floor-grazing gown, beginning with the criss-cross halter. Roach secured the dress and a matching lemon-colored shawl from Julien's Auctions, a privately-held auction house in Beverly Hills. It scored a spot in the brand's early December auction, "Bold Luxury: Bob Mackie, Stage Glamour, and The Couture Edit," alongside Bob Mackie creations worn by Cher, Tina Turner, and more legends.

Grande in Bob Mackie obviously paid homage to Cher—SNL's musical guest on Dec. 20. The Californian creative dressed Cher for over 60 years, beginning in 1967. What's more, her exact maxi originally debuted on the March 17, 1973 episode of The Carol Burnett Show. In true Burnett fashion, the host delivered her opening monologue while wearing the Bob Mackie gown. Perhaps its light-as-a-feather chiffon caught Grande's eye, which swooshed effortlessly across Burnett's stage.

SNL's commercial dropped one month after Grande's first Bob Mackie-clad moment. The Oscar nominee floated into the Wicked: One Wonderful Night special by bubble, dressed in a circa-Fall 1997 ballgown. Roach purchased the princess-y pick from Tab Vintage, but Julien's Auctions recently sold it for $6,500.

Bob Mackie has always been a household name (thanks to The Cher Effect), but in 2025, his designs became a showgirl signature. Everyone from Miley Cyrus to Sabrina Carpenter tracked down Bob Mackie designs from the 1970s and beyond. Carpenter even hosted a 2025 MTV VMAs after-party in a fringed bodysuit, first worn by Cher during an April 1975 episode of The Cher Show.

The designer's headpieces also had a starring role in Taylor Swift's Life of a Showgirl era, having appeared in almost every album cover. The pop star was especially drawn to his vibrant feather hats and rhinestone lingerie. Which pop star will board the Bob Mackie bandwagon next? My bet's on Lady Gaga.

Wicked: For Good played its final premiere on November 17, but Ariana Grande is still firmly in method dressing mode. The next night, the actor stopped by The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon in another vintage, anti-Glinda gown, which would've looked right at home on a Wicked red carpet.

Following fellow Ozian Michelle Yeoh, Grande was the latest cast member to visit the late-night show during Wicked Week. Stylist Law Roach tracked down Grande's oldest vintage gown yet, which debuted in the 1930s.

Roach and Grande knew surprisingly little about the spaghetti-strap V-neck number. The duo sourced it from Amarcord Vintage Fashion, the same Brooklyn-based secondhand boutique behind her black, 1950s-era after-party maxi on Nov. 10. Similar to her London dress, its designer remains a mystery, but whoever brought it to life deserves a round of applause. Everything about the semi-sheer gown—from the delicately-draped tulle bodice to the embroidered skirt—looked runway-pristine. Zoom in to appreciate the emerald green leaves atop her tulle, floor-length skirt. Altogether, the vintage piece could've been plucked straight from Cynthia Erivo's costume rack.

If you've followed the Wicked: For Good press tour, you know Grande has been on an anti-Glinda noir streak lately. Her Tonight Show pick marks her fourth black gown in a row, each with decades-old tags and tie-ins to The Wizard of Oz. (The film released in 1939, the same decade Grande's dress was designed.)

A matching tulle neck scarf—which charmingly ornamented her décolletage—appeared to be a perfect match to her dress's finish, suggesting they were a package deal. Its plunging neckline would've complemented a Swarovski pendant with ease, but Grande opted out. Diamond stud earrings acted as her only extra sparkle.

Clearly, Erivo changed Grande's fashion for good—she inspired her to expand Glinda's pink-centric color palette. The first Wicked movie and its coordinating press tour captured the Grammy winner in primarily pink pieces. The day Wicked fans have dreaded since 2021 has tearfully arrived: the final Wicked: For Good red carpet premiere. Director Jon M. Chu's highly-anticipated sequel hits theaters this Friday, meaning the internet's favorite press tour is nearing its end.

But first: a New York City grand finale. Following stops in London, Paris, Singapore, and Saõ Paolo, Wicked: For Good landed just a subway ride away from the Gershwin Theatre, the birthplace of the Broadway musical. On November 17, the Upper West Side's Lincoln Center transformed into the Emerald City, down to the on-theme green carpet.

Before breaking down Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, and their co-stars' looks, let's take a trip down the yellow brick road to Wicked's last premiere in 2024. Almost a year ago to the day, the first film's promo tour ended at the NYC's Museum of Modern Art instead.

Grande and Erivo arrived arm-in-arm. Grande, for one, channeled Glinda in a bubble-hem, fuchsia pink gown, created just for her by Louis Vuitton. Erivo, on the other hand, chose a custom black ballgown from Dior, featuring a semi-sheer turtleneck bodice. Her $23,000 Mikimoto black pearl necklace shined just as much as Grande's Lorraine Schwartz diamond choker.

However, the atelier behind the peplum corset and tulle skirt was Schiaparelli Haute Couture. Her pear-shaped diamond drop earrings were undeniably a Swarovski select. Erivo's stylist, Jason Bolden, did his big one at Wicked: For Good's NYC premiere. Thanks to Bolden, the multi-hyphenate walked the black carpet in custom Balenciaga by Pierpaolo Piccioli. The sculptural ballgown was every bit an Elphaba-inspired dream, from the leather long-sleeve turtleneck, to the curved fur bust embellishments. She even added Balenciaga's signature shield sunglasses for some fashion girl flair.

Erivo's custom Balenciaga gown came one week after the new creative director gifted Grande a Glinda-esque gown. However, the "thank u, next" singer's featured bubblegum pink sequins from top to bottom.

Michelle Yeoh

Madame Morrible, a.k.a. Michelle Yeoh, was a vision in a butter yellow ballgown at the Wicked: For Good premiere. The Givenchy Fall 2025 find felt surprisingly un-Wicked for her character, especially compared to her tornado-looking Iris Van Herpen gown in Singapore. However, the skirt-turned-gown's pastel tulle still would've looked right at home in the Emerald City.

Jonathan Bailey

If anyone can pull off a beanie on the red carpet, it's America's Sexiest Man Alive, Jonathan Bailey. He paired the winter staple with an all-black Loro Piana suit, curated for him by stylist Emma Jade Morrison. It felt like something his character, Fiyero, would wear in Oz, during the "serious" sequel.

Marissa Bode, who portrays Nessarose in the Wicked movies, looked ready for an evening out in Oz. Stylist Alexandra Mandelkorn outfitted Bode in a voluminous strapless gown—its emerald green silk as pigmented as ever. She filled the negative spade atop her décolletage with a green ribbon. A red poppy-inspired pendant dangled from each strand. Zoom in to appreciate her bedazzled Christian Louboutin heels, inspired by Dorothy's ruby red slippers.

It's good to see Ariana Grande in custom Balenciaga, isn't it? No need to respond, that was rhetorical.

Grande and her Wicked: For Good co-stars landed in Singapore on November 13 to premiere the highly-anticipated sequel once again. They were welcomed by a familiar dress code—Oz-worthy black tie—which Grande followed in spades. Her beloved stylist, Law Roach, continues to outdo himself. This time, he enlisted the help of Balenciaga's Pierpaolo Piccioli to return Grande to her Glinda roots. After three back-to-back black dresses (each an impressive archival pull), Grande sparkled in bubblegum pink.

Piccioli crafted Grande's strapless gown from pastel sequined chiffon. Tiny sequins shimmered alongside oversize sheer pailettes, a subtle homage to Glinda's mode of transportation: bubbles.

The peplum bodice was even more striking from the back. Piccioli pinned a monochromatic bow at the center, which created subtle, skirt-like ruffles out of the peplum. From there, Grande's texturized skirt billowed out into a train, without breaking the synchronicity of the sequins.

Since the Balenciaga gown fulfilled the sparkle quota tenfold, Grande frosted herself with minimal accessories. Just one Swarovski ring, plus pearl hoop earrings earrings added to the effortless Glinda glamour of the evening.

The "thank u, next" singer's pre-premiere photoshoot kept her choice of stilettos a secret. But knowing Grande, platform pumps—likely in pale pink—added some height to the final look.

Grande's gown was custom-made just for the Wicked: For Good press tour, but its peplumed silhouette drew inspiration from Piccioli's Balenciaga debut. Last month, during Paris Fashion Week, the new creative director introduced tastemakers to his Balenciaga with a 53-piece runway show. Look 34 featured the same bubble-hem bodice as Grande's dress, except in vibrant purple. It swapped a cascading train for a shift-style mini skirt.

The Oscar nominee has a long history with both Balenciaga and Valentino, where Piccioli designed for over a decade. During the early 2020s, Grande was especially drawn to his neon dresses. (Remember her pink mini dress and matching accessories in April 2022?)

As for Balenciaga, the once Demna-led label played a major part in her oversize hoodie era. Pairing a baggy sweatshirt and thigh-high boots—both with Balenciaga tags—was her modus operandi back in the day.

Ariana Grande has been switching up her go-to hairstyle recently, and I’m personally very here for it. On November 10, the actress was seen in London for the UK premiere of Wicked: For Good. She wore a stunning vintage gown, which was an iconic pull made possible by the image architect extraordinaire, Law Roach. That being said, my eyes were squarely on her hairstyle, which felt fresh and new, given that the singer has long loved and worn her iconic ponytail hairstyle.

Grande stuck to her roots, opting for an updo, but that’s where the similarities to her signature hairstyle end. For this appearance, her hair was wrapped around the end of her ponytail and secured at the base of her updo, creating a sleek, high bun. Before styling the rest of the look, a deep side part created the appearance of a face-framing bang, which she straightened, slicked back, and tucked behind her ear.

The result was something akin to a ballerina bun, a style she has worn before, and one that trended heavily in 2023. She completed the look with a classic French manicure and gorgeous soft-glam makeup.

Slicked-back buns are a staple for a reason—they work for practically any occasion under the sun. Celebrities like Latto, Bella Hadid, and Paloma Elsesser have all been seen in some variation of the look. Still, even the everyday person has gotten in on the fun, and I can’t tell you how many slicked-back hairstyles I see every day in New York City on my way to work. Every star student at The Law Roach School of Styling graduates a Zendaya-level archival pro—Ariana Grande included. The actor's Wicked: For Good press tour doubles as her grand thesis, where her vintage pulls get rarer by the day. For the November 10 after-party, Grande traded her original Gilbert Adrian design for another 1950s noir ballgown.

As soon as the sequel's premiere wrapped at Cineworld London Leicester Square, Grande snuck away for an outfit change. An A-lister's after-party pick usually leans risqué, perhaps with a naked dress or underwear-as-outerwear. Grande, on the other hand, remained loyal to her vintage streak in her second anti-Glinda gown of the day. Instead of her character's polished pink color palette, which we all know and love, Grande turned heads in Elphaba-esque black tulle. The gown began with a strapless, ruched bodice, which billowed into a full, two-tiered tulle skirt.

Amarcord Vintage Fashion—a beloved New York boutique—originally owned the couture creation, hence its good-as-new condition. A single layer of tulle acted as a reversed, elbow-length cape, which buttoned in the back. Handmade, white peony-shaped flowers decorated the strapless bust, the skirt's top tier, and the cape's nape. "Surprisingly, there is no label within, but trust us when we say this dress is made to the levels of all of the greatest 1950s couturiers," the brand wrote on its listing.

Swarovski sparklers complemented Grande's Gilbert Adrian gown, but later, she went jewelry-free. The high-neck cape didn't call for a necklace, just the diamond stud earrings she's worn on repeat this promo trail.

Christian Louboutin's sold-out Cassia pumps peeked out from underneath her voluminous skirt. Satin ribbons laced up each ankle alongside squared toeboxes, both inspired by a ballerina's pointe shoes. Cynthia Erivo owns the same four-figure heels, except in Elphaba green.

With each vintage pull, Roach and Grande introduce fans to notable secondhand stores, including West Hollywood's Lily et Cie, Beverly Hills' Timeless Vixen, and now, Brooklyn's Amarcord Vintage Fashion. With the Wicked: For Good L.A. premiere still on the horizon, the city (and its top-tier vintage) could deliver her rarest find yet.

Ariana Grande wouldn't stray from Glinda's pink-centric color palette for just any look. She'll make an exception, though, when her stylist Law Roach tracks down an original gown by Gilbert Adrian, the costume designer of the original The Wizard of Oz.

On November 10, the Wicked: For Good cast gathered in London to premiere the highly-anticipated sequel. Grande set aside Glinda-ified glamour for the occasion, trading in bubblegum pink for Elphaba's signature shade. It wasn't just any black dress, though: The one-shoulder ballgown, dated to 1952, was designed by Adrian, the man behind the iconic costumes of many films, including The Wizard of Oz. Roach sourced it from Lily et Cie, a vintage boutique in West Hollywood (where Zendaya purchased her second 2024 Met Gala look). The piece of fashion history looked good as new, from the singular tulle shoulder to the bubble-hem tiers down the skirt. A ruffled satin underlay revealed itself as Grande walked.

The ballgown didn't mark a complete 180 from Grande's method dressing. In addition to the voluminous bubble hem, you can zoom in and see monochrome polka dot paillettes atop the sweetheart-shaped neckline, the hoop skirt, and the lone sleeve, which give the look dimension. To finish, the Grammy winner broke her no-necklace streak with a diamond drop sparkler from Swarovski. (She's a brand ambassador.) It complemented the diamond stud earrings she's worn on repeat during the Wicked: For Good promo tour.

For some, securing a gown as rare as a 73-year-old Gilbert Adrian original would happen once-in-a-lifetime. Not for Grande and Roach, though—in fact, just two weeks ago, the stylist dressed the actor in another Gilbert Adrian number to film the Wicked: One Wonderful Night special. The caped little black dress debuted in the 1940s, mere years after Adrian broughtThe Wizard of Oz costumes to life.

"Just a little piece of Hollywood history," Roach wrote on Instagram. "After leaving MGM, Adrian went on to launch his own fashion house, with many pieces now displayed in museums around the world and studied by fashion lovers. His vision for [The Wizard of Oz] kept elements of the work he had become so identifiable with, including bold shoulders, striking silhouettes, and expert tailoring."

Grande's Wicked: For Good run is already a master class in archival dressing—just as Arianators assumed it would be, once she announced she was linking up with Roach again.

"She is coming for that Oscar," Marie Claire's interim style director, Ana Colón, told me after seeing Ariana Grande's look at the Wicked: For Good Paris premiere. Though Grande missed the sequel's São Paulo red carpet, she more than made up for it in France.

Grande went all-out for her first Wicked: For Good screening on November 7. Her stylist, Law Roach, sourced a vintage Lili's Diamond gown from Timeless Vixen, a secondhand boutique in Beverly Hills. Its debut year? 1950, making it a find fit for an Old Hollywood star.

Grande channeled her co-star Cynthia Erivo's usual color palette through the black A-line gown, featuring spaghetti-thin straps, a concealed corset, and a matching cape. Glinda-esque details include the coat's peek-a-boo satin lining, in the character's signature shade of fuchsia pink. Vibrant poppy-inspired flowers decorated the dress's neckline. In this context, the embellishment read like a three-dimensional homage to the Wizard of Oz, when the Wicked Witch uses poppies to bewitch Dorothy and her companions on the Yellow Brick Road to sleep.

The dress wasn't a reference to L. Frank Baum's characters in its original heyday. The Lilli Diamond label was founded in early-1950s Los Angeles by Al Diamond, in tribute to his wife, the titular Lilli. Until the brand ceased production in the 1980s, it was known for glamorous cocktail dresses and eveningwear, like Grande's.

Grande let her moment of fashion history shine with delicate diamond stud earrings. (Over-accessorizing simply isn't in her vocabulary.) An effortless French manicure felt perfectly Parisian, while staying loyal to Grande's personal style.

Shortly after the premiere, Grande revealed a never-before-seen Givenchy gown on her Instagram. The satin select didn't make the cut for the Paris premiere, but the actor still modeled its bubblegum pink glamour. The skintight shift dress—though custom-made by Sarah Burton—mirrored the nostalgic charm of Audrey Hepburn's little black dress in Breakfast at Tiffany's (minus the pearl necklace and opera gloves).

An elongated cape cascaded from her shoulder blades into a train, which billowed ever-so-elegantly with each step. Grande relished in the gown's drama. (She is a former theater kid, after all.) So much so, she let it shine all on its own. The same diamond earrings, plus a pink hair clip atop her bun, acted as her only sparklers. Ultra-pointy stilettos from Gianvito Rossi peeked out from underneath the floor-length skirt.

One of the best things about tuning into Wicked's two-year press run has been witnessing the blossoming friendship between Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. The two actors have bonded over portraying Galinda and Elphaba, respectively, in the film adaptation of the acclaimed Broadway musical, and if their status as best friends wasn't official before, it certainly is now because they just got matching tattoos in honor of Wicked: For Good.

For Good is the sequel to last year's Wicked (it's the film version of the Broadway show's second act), and it's set to premiere in theaters on Nov. 21. Over the weekend, Grande and Erivo celebrated the approaching theatrical release date by sharing a joint Instagram post featuring a behind-the-scenes photo of both of them on set. That was followed by a second photo of their hands, which revealed that the duo got matching "For Good" tattoos on their palms to really cement their bond. "Happy wicked month @wickedmovie ♡," the caption reads.

"For Good" is obviously a reference to the title of the sequel, but it's also the name of the final song in the show, a duet between Galinda and Elphaba in which they sing to each other about how their friendship has changed both of their lives for the better.

This actually isn't the only matching tattoo that Grande and Erivo have gotten over the course of filming Wicked. Erivo revealed during an interview with The New York Times last year that they "got many tattoos" together, including one of a poppy flower on their hands, referencing the poppy fields that are used to cast sleeping spells on certain characters in Wicked and The Wizard of Oz. The film's director, Jon M. Chu, also joked about advising against the cast getting any tattoos until after filming had officially wrapped—but, of course, Erivo and Grande didn't listen.

“I cautioned them to maybe wait to get any tattoos about the movie until AFTER they see it…but they opted to ignore me and got them on like days 3 of rehearsals,” he said.

One of my favorite things about this franchise is that each actor commits to their role, and as she did with the first act of the movie, Grande was dressed in a Glinda pink dress. The color is a nod to her character from the famous musical, and of course, she nailed the look. Still, it was her manicure that felt like the cherry on top of the outfit. Seeing it has now made me change my mind about what I actually want to get at my next nail appointment—again. Let’s take a closer look at it, shall we?

On Monday, Oct. 27, Grande hard-launched what will undoubtedly be several weeks-worth of themed pink 'fits. While in New York City for a screening of the second Wicked film, Grande channeled her on-screen character once more. She arrived to the fan-packed event wearing a voluminous Barbie pink ball gown, the likes of which haven't been seen since—well, since the Barbie press tour.

The ball gown featured a voluminous fuchsia skirt made of what appears to be Banarasi silk. Its bodice, meanwhile, was made of a dusty rose waffle knit that's rarely utilized in the high-fashion space. The casual fabrication, raw edges, and artsy draping created a juxtaposed pleasant against Grande's intricately-embroidered train.

The number hails from Vivienne Westwood's latest collection, designed by Andreas Kronthaler. After debuting in the label's Womenswear Spring/Summer 2025 show at Paris Fashion Week in Sept. 2024, the gown apparently went straight into Grande's closet. Though it has yet to be released to the masses, the pop star was able to model the runway piece for this momentous occasion.

In the months since Grande's first Wicked tour, the "Thank U, Next" singer has put her method dressing on pause. She pivoted from all-pink to mostly black, wearing noir gowns for the MTV VMAs, CinemaCon, and the Oscars.

"We can't wait to get back on the road again," Erivo said, as reported by People. Grande added that they "already have our tissues packed," but Erivo said, "I promise less waterworks this time, but I'm not sure we can live up to that."

Grande then told the crowd at the event for movie theater owners, "Me neither, but you've seen it, so you get it, right? You cried." Erivo explained that now that everyone has seen Wicked, they should understand why she and her co-star were just so emotional in all those interviews. "You cried. Don't lie. We know. We saw," she said. "And we thank you, and we also forgive you for the hard time you gave us for doing it."

As a refresher: Last year's press tour saw Grande and W become overwhelmed with emotion in various interviews, whether it was about their bond with one another, their feelings about the themes of the movie, or their response to equally emotional interviewers. It all came to a head during an interview with Out magazine reporter Tracy E. Gilchrist, who told the pair that people were "holding space" for the song "Defying Gravity". Erivo and Grande appeared deeply moved and responded with such sincerity that people—many people on the internet—were both confused and astounded. A meme was born.

It's safe to assume that—even if Erivo and Grande live up to their promise of fewer tears—that their second press tour is still going to bring it when it comes to fashion and feelings. Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande kicked off the 97th annual Academy Awards on Sunday, March 2, with a gorgeous performance honoring not just Wicked but also the adaptations of The Wizard of Oz that came before it.

The show began with Grande, nominated for Best Supporting Actress, singing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," while standing inside a multicolored ray of light (courtesy of a screen effect). During the performance, she paid homage to the 1939 film in a glittering red gown evoking Dorothy's ruby shoes.

Then Erivo, nominated for Best Actress, emerged onto the stage for a rendition of "Home," from the Broadway musical (and subsequent 1978 film) The Wiz.

The pair completed the opening performance with their highly-anticipated rendition of Wicked's showstopper "Defying Gravity," beginning with both stars before Erivo completed the majestic song solo. By the final note, there wasn't a dry eye in all of the Dolby Theatre in L.A.

Tonight's performance marked the second year in a row that Wicked was represented at the Oscars, after Erivo and Grande presented the awards for Original Song and Original Score at the March 2024 ceremony.

Wicked: Part One, released in theaters on November 22, 2024, is nominated for 10 awards total tonight, including nods for both stars, as well as Best Picture, Best Original Score, Best Costume Design, Best Makeup and Hairstyling, Best Production Design, Best Visual Effects, Best Sound, and Best Editing.

Of course, fans know that Wicked mania is nowhere near over. The highly-anticipated second half of the epic story, Wicked: For Good, is set to come out on November 21, 2025.

While walking the red carpet, Jeff Goldblum, who portrays The Wizard in the films, teased what's to come in the second installment. "Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, Elphaba and Glinda, oh my gosh, will further thrill you and chill you and devastate you, yes." He also added of his character, "There might be some emotional complications and twists."

Jeff Goldblum didn't just show off his signature eccentric style on the Oscars 2025 red carpet—he delivered some carefully crafted non-spoilers about the upcoming Wicked sequel, too.

The actor, who stars as the Wizard of Oz himself in the film franchise, told ABC’s On the Red Carpet promised that Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo will "further thrill you and chill you and devastate you" in the sequel, which is slated for November.

"I don't want to be a tattletale or a spoiler," he continued before adding, "Well, I do something in it. I may be tuneful." Whether his "tuneful" moment has to do with the new song Erivo wrote for the sequel that brought people on set to tears, stay tuned.

His comments align with what director Jon M. Chu previously told Entertainment Weekly: "If Part 1 is about choices, Part 2 is about consequences."

Goldblum confirmed his character is indeed "involved" in the sequel and teased "emotional complications and twists" for the conclusion of the two-part musical epic. He spoke glowingly of his co-stars, calling Grande and Erivo "unbelievably fantastic and incomparable," while praising Chu's "fantastic" direction.

The Jurassic Park star admitted to his own emotional connection to the material. "Since I saw the stage show, I've been in tears and my heart broke wide open with love," he said.

As for his costars' Oscars style, Grande—who plays Glida in the movie—stayed true to her character in a pale pink Schiaparelli Couture confection, while Erivo—who plays Elphaba—stuck with the Wicked Witch's signature green in a velvet Louis Vuitton gown.

She’s celebrating the death of the Wicked Witch of the West, but I’m sharing a similar sentiment in response to Ariana Grande's 2025 Oscars dress. The actress just arrived at the 97th Academy Awards in a gown fit for a princess—or maybe just The Good Witch.

Grande—who is going by her full legal name, Ariana Grande-Butera, this evening—is nominated for her work as Glinda in the Best Actress in a Supporting Role category. She celebrated her nomination in a very on-theme pale pink gown with a floaty, sparkling sheer skirt and a fitted satin bodice by Schiaparelli Couture. Makeup artist Michael Anthony also mirrored the cherry blossom's petal-pink hue on Grande's cheeks. Per his Instagram breakdown of the look, her glassy flush comes courtesy of a new launch from the singer's skincare and makeup line R.E.M. "I thought I’d be hearing ‘Slightly Withering Star’ or ‘Drooping Star’ by now, so thank you.”

She went on to say that her work in Wicked “really does feel like the beginning of a new chapter" as she continued her speech.

“Though Glinda the good is full of frivolous humor and witty punchlines, comedy is just another way of telling the truth," Grande added. "She has an innate ability to make light out of darkness, even when there is pain, and I’m so grateful to have lived in that, to have learned so much from her over these past three years.”

Few people have had the sort of year that Ariana Grande did. After wrapping production on Wicked, the Grammy Award winner also put out a new album, hosted Saturday Night Live, and debuted a new relationship following a much-publicized divorce.

Now she's reflecting on it all in new Instagram post filled with many behind-the-scenes snaps from all of the above happenings, including a sweet photo of Grande with her new boyfriend, Ethan Slater. "A year full of art and heart 𖦹 ｡˚ฺ ｡˚·ꕤ.ﾟ!" Grande wrote in the caption. "Thank you eternally for your love and support, words truly don’t suffice. i love you always and am wishing you a all a very happy new year!"

The post drew comments from several friends and family members, including her co-star (and SNL staple) Bowen Yang, and her brother, Frankie. "What a beautiful gorgeous incredible year," the elder Grande wrote.

"So happy to have made so many beautiful memories together and get to watch you beam your light out all over the world in the most brilliant ways. I love you so much. Happy new year Ari. COME ON 2025! HERE WE GO! 🫧"

Grande also posted a few accompanying Instagram Stories with further reflective messaging about the past year of art and work.

"Somehow, all of my favorite projects happened this year," she wrote in one. "And I was able to create with so many of my favorite people."

Another Instagram Story was directed at her fans and their loyalty to her. "Thank you to my sweet, incredible angels for your love and support year round," she wrote. "You have made me feel so seen and held. I love growing with you and seeing where art, life and inspiration takes us together."

"Here's to another year with you," she wrote with a heart, "thank you for everything. I'll never ever take you, our bond, or our memories for granted."

With another Wicked film on the horizon, it feels all but certain 2025 will also be a banner year for Grande.

Ariana Grande must be into manifesting, because the lengths she went to in order to nab the role of Glinda in Wicked could only be described as such. I mean, how else are you going to categorize the fact that she stocked up on exclusively pink clothing—down to her own ding dang underroos—in the months leading up to even auditioning for the part?

Manifestation, my babies, that's how.

In a new behind-the-scenes interview clip from the film released exclusively to PEOPLE in the lead-up to the film's at-home digital release, Grande and director Jon M. Chu dove deep on what felt like a culmination of sorts for the Grammy Award-winning singer (and actress).

For her part in making the magic happen for herself, Grande explained that she, "had been chasing [producer] Marc Platt down for about 10 years, wondering when this movie was going to happen, when I would have the opportunity to audition."

"As soon as I heard that maybe in a few months they might start seeing people," she went on to add, "I was like, 'Great! Now's the time I'm starting.'" And that "starting" included wearing as much pink as her body and wardrobe would allow, going so far as to even buy and wear pink underwear to get herself into Glinda's magical-thinking mindset.

"I was like 'what underwear would Glinda wear today?' I had, like, a little portion of my closet that was all just little pink tops and stuff, just in case," she explained.

And though she always seemed destined for—and determined to land—Glinda's role, the director did not make it easy on her, making her audition several times, both for Glinda and for Elphaba.

"Strangely, I sang for both," she added. "I don't know why. I think we all kind of knew why I was going in, and it was for Glinda."

"I love Elphaba," Grande offered, before off-handedly adding, "but, you know..."

As we all learned during the Wicked press tour, any given moment, someone may be holding space for the lyrics of "Defying Gravity"—Timothée Chalamet and Elle Fanning included.

The stars of the new Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown, were completely starstruck to meet the reporter (Tracy Gilchrist) who brought new meaning to the phrase "holding space" when she did so with Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. So much so, they even held fingers about it.

"I'm starstruck, seeing you walk in," Fanning exclaimed before Chalamet put his finger out for her to clutch, causing the room to erupt into giggles.

"It's an honor to talk to you, I feel sort of starstruck, too," the actor added. It's a silly, perfect moment that shows just how ubiquitous the meme of Ariana and Cynthia has become.

As for her part in it, Gilchrist has previously noted that she meant for the moment to be a segue into a bigger question, but the circumstances in the moment moved it into this more meme-able direction.

If you've never been in a press junket before (I have done hundreds at this point), they're a particularly odd set-up: you (the journalist) wait hours on end in hotel hallways in order to pop into a room for 5 minutes or less and ask as many questions of the waiting actors/writers/directors involved in whatever film or television show you're all there to do press around, as you can. There's hot lights, tons of crew and/or studio press people (plus hair and makeup folks) all crammed into a tiny hotel room with you and the people you're interviewing. Everyone has been there for hours on end, with the talent involved often responding to variations on the exact same question over and over again.

In essence, it's a ticking time bomb for something silly and/or nonsensical to take place—particularly when there's a miscommunication, or misunderstanding of the question being asked (ask me about the time I interviewed Rob Corddry and Craig Robinson for a film called Rapture-Palooza).

Either way, it can be a wild, hurry-up-and-wait whirlwind of a time. And, truly, what's better than a silly meme coming out of all of it?

More than a year into their relationship, Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater are still saying "Thank Goodness" for their love.

A source close to the couple told Us Weekly that things are better than ever between the "inseparable" pair, who are "living in bliss."

“Ariana and Ethan have written a whole new book together,” the source said, adding that the actors, who connected on the set of Wicked, are “still in the honeymoon phase of pure bliss."

The co-stars have recently been juggling their relationship with the whirlwind press tour for Wicked, but the source says they've only grown closer while promoting the musical—and that “their friends are fully supportive" of their relationship.

“The Wicked press tour made their relationship ever stronger, and Ariana is over the moon about Ethan,” the source explained. “They have so much in common, which is something Ari never had with past relationships.”

A second insider told Us Weekly that Grande's relationship with Slater is “a new dynamic” for the "We Can't Be Friends (Wait for Your Love) singer—but she's still definitely content to take things slow.

“Ariana is not rushing to get married again,” the second source added. “She feels she is content with how things are now and it’s a really healthy situation. Ariana used to move really quickly in relationships and has learned to slow down.”

Even though Grande isn't ready for another walk down the aisle, the second source confirms that she and Slater have still been taking serious steps in the relationship, saying the “practically live together” in New York City and “have created a new life together.

“She needed a change of pace after her divorce," the source added.

What is Christmas for, if not to be silly and celebratory with the ones you love? That's exactly what North West and her mother Kim Kardashian did this holiday season, in a series of sweet new TikToks that saw the duo dancing and lip syncing their hearts out to Ariana Grande's "Santa Tell Me" and a Gossip Girl-introduced clip of Wham's holiday classic, "Last Christmas."

Filmed during the family's paired back Christmas Eve party, the clips feature North West in a sweet black mini skirt, and a white corset top under a black blazer. The whole look was tied together with a cheeky black tie and knee-high black boots. As for her mother, Kim Kardashian was sporting a snakeskin body suit and matching shoes, but kept the dancing to a minimum, given her broken foot.

It's a sweet glimpse into the life of a pre-teen in the Kardashian camp, who kept things a bit more intimate this year given all the construction going on at the family home. But just because things were a bit more "low-key" this year doesn't mean the Kardashian/Jenner women and their kids didn't still bring the glam out for the festivities. After all, it's what they do best!

Elsewhere at the party, North West's aunts Kendall and Kylie Jenner were both looking elegant and regal in complementary off-white outfits. Kendall opted for a stunning Old Hollywood-inspired Phoebe Philo dress and a pair of deeply covetable Bottega Veneta drop earrings. Kylie choose an allover ivory sequined Saint Laurent dress with pearl-accented, strappy heels.

And while Kourtney went the far more camp-but-sexy in a Santa-styled suit, sister Khloé unfortunately had to stay home with her sick kids. Here's hoping next year's festivities bring the whole crew back together again.

Ethan Slater's ex-wife Dr. Lilly Jay is speaking out in a big way.

Jay, who is a clinical psychologist specializing in perinatal mental health and child development, has penned an emotional, vulnerable essay for The Cut, in which she opens up about the deep pain caused by her divorce.

This pain is compounded by the fact Jay's separation from Slater happened in the midst of filming for Wicked, on the set of which he met his now-girlfriend Ariana Grande. And as anyone with an internet connection knows, Wicked promo is totally unavoidable these days, and has been for months—making Jay's grieving process extra thorny.

"No one gets married thinking they’ll get divorced, in the same way we don’t board a plane expecting to crash. But I really never thought I would get divorced," Jay began her essay.

"Especially not just after giving birth to my first child and especially not in the shadow of my husband’s new relationship with a celebrity. In this season of shock and mourning, over a year after the end of my marriage was made public, I deeply miss the life of invisibility I created for myself as a psychologist specializing in women’s mental health."

The therapist goes on to explain that she and Slater had to strike a balance between her job being very private and his being necessarily public, a balance which of course was completely thrown off when he started a relationship with one of the world's most famous people.

"Motherhood, I have learned, fills your time but not your mind," Jay wrote. "In the countless hours I spend rocking my son to sleep, pushing his stroller, marveling at his sweaty little hands grasping a crayon, I work diligently on my private project of accepting the sudden public downfall of my marriage."

She went on, "Slowly but surely, I have come to believe that in the absence of the life I planned with my high-school sweetheart, a lifetime of sweetness is waiting for me and my child.

"While our partnership has changed, our parenthood has not. Both of us fiercely love our son 100 percent of the time, regardless of how our parenting time is divided.

"As for me, days with my son are sunny. Days when I can’t escape the promotion of a movie associated with the saddest days of my life are darker."

Slater and Grande began dating sometime in the summer of 2023, with the timeline a bit murky as to when he and Jay actually separated.

In July of that year, Jay told Page Six in a moment of anger, "[Ariana’s] the story, really. Not a girl’s girl. My family is just collateral damage."
