Almost a year after finalizing her divorce from Ben Affleck last January, Jennifer Lopez is, apparently, 100% single and loving it.

Speaking to People, a source close to the 56-year-old multi-hyphenate star said she's not dating and is, instead, focusing all of her attention on her career and her family.

"It's all about work and the kids for her," the source said of Lopez, who shares 17-year-old twins Maximilian "Max" David Muniz and Emme Maribel Muniz with her ex-husband Marc Anthony. "She seems happy and content."

Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck in August 2024, just over two years after the couple, who ended their first engagement in 2004 and reconnected romantically in 2021, tied the knot in a July 2022 ceremony in Las Vegas.

Shortly after filing for divorce, Lopez opened up about her attitude about being single once against during an October 2024 conversation with Interview magazine, saying she was looking forward to being unattached again.

"Now I’m excited, when you say you’re just going to be on your own," Lopez said at the time. "Yes, I’m not looking for anybody, because everything that I’ve done over the past 25, 30 years, being in these different challenging situations, what can I f*cking do when it’s just me flying on my own ... what if I'm just free?"

Affleck opened up about his and Lopez's divorc e for the first time in a March 2025 interview with GQ, in which he stressed that he continued to have nothing but respect for Lopez, saying there was "no scandal, no soap opera, no intrigue" among the exes.

Referring to his appearance in Lopez's 2024 documentary, The Greatest Love Story Never Told, in which he seemed to have more reservations about fame than Lopez, Affleck made it clear that any differences they may have had in their approach to fame had nothing to do with the split.

"I think the thing that I said in that documentary or the piece that they used was where I said, You don’t marry a ship captain and then say, 'Well, I don’t like going out in the water.' You’ve got to own what you knew going into any relationship," Affleck explained. "And I think it’s important to say that wasn’t the cause of some major fracture. It’s not like you can watch that documentary and go, 'Oh, now I understand the issues that these two had.'"

"I guess there’s a tendency to look at breakups and want to identify root causes or something. But honestly, like I said, the truth is much more quotidian than probably people would believe or would be interesting," Affleck concluded in the GQ interview.

These day, the exes seem to be on great terms and were even spotted taking Affleck's son, Sam, out for lunch and holiday shopping in Los Angeles this month.

Their romance might be over, but Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck appear to have successfully pulled off the often-tricky transition from exes to friends.

Over the weekend, the former couple reunited for some last-minute holiday shopping and lunch with Affleck's son, Samuel, at the Brentwood Country Mart in Los Angeles.

"They met up and went shopping together. Jen and Ben seemed fine," an insider told People of the pair's public reunion. "The focus was mostly on Sam."

"He was excited and chatty," the People source added of the 13-year-old, who seemed to remain the center of attention throughout the outing. "They shopped for gifts in several high-end stores. Jen asked a lot of questions and picked up gifts for Ben's kids. They arrived and left separately."

As People reported, the exes were both photographed arriving at the Farmshop for their lunch, but, as the insider noted, they clearly weren't together, with Affleck and his son arriving separately from the singer/actress, who looked casual and cozy in an oversized, cream knit sweater paired with a long brown and white polka dot skirt and brown boots.

After high-end holiday shopping (at stores like Sezane and Doen) and lunch, the Lopez and Affleck parted ways, reportedly leaving separately, just like they arrived.

This isn't the first time Affleck and Lopez have put their friendship on display since they finalized their divorce in February. In October, both were beaming when they posed for photos together on the red carpet at screening of Kiss of the Spider Woman in New York City.

During their relationship, Lopez and Affleck's blended family grew close and, even after their split, they've made a point to maintain those bonds, especially when it comes to their kids—Violet, 19, Seraphina, 16, and Samuel, 13, who Affleck shared with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, and Max and Emme, the 17-year-old twins Lopez shares with her ex, Marc Anthony.

"The kids are still really close," a source close to the Affleck family told People in September. "They have the same groups of friends, they see each other and they talk all the time. They make sure the kids know they get along. The most important thing to both of them is raising their kids in a supportive environment, so they plan to stay in each other’s lives.”

As the film's October 10 premiere draws closer, Lopez's press tour is coming to an end. It seems she saved her best method dressing moments for last. The Maid in Manhattan star hasn't styled a look this spider-y since January, when Kiss of the Spider Woman premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. 2024 was a tumultuous year for Jennifer Lopez with her separation from Ben Affleck and her canceled world tour. But now, Lopez says she's doing better than ever, and she's glad her kids are witnessing the progress she's made. As reported by People, in a new interview with Spain's El País, Lopez shared what she told her teenage children about her divorce and the promise she made to them amid the split.

Lopez and Affleck got married in 2022, which was 20 years after they were engaged the first time around. But, two years later, Lopez filed for divorce in the summer of 2024. Their divorce was finalized in January of this year.

"Everybody goes through hard times in their life," Lopez told El País, though she didn't mention Affleck by name. "And it’s what you do in those moments that really does define you. Not the relationship, not the man: what defines you is what you’re doing with the experiences that you’re faced with."

Lopez was open about this hard time to her 17-year-old twins, Max and Emme, who she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony.

“I said, 'I promise you, this is a difficult time, but you’re going to see that I’ll come out the other side stronger and better.' I promised them that and I did it," the 55-year-old said. "And they feel it now. That gives me a great sense of peace in my life."

In the interview, Lopez explained that she took care of herself and tried to learn from the situation by reading books, meditating, praying, and doing some self-reflection.

"I’m happier that I’m a step further along than I was a year ago, two years ago, three years ago," she said. "I’m proud of myself for that and I’m proud that I was able to navigate my children through difficult times, that they’re stronger and better because of it."

She's also getting ready to go on tour again. While 2024's This Is Me... Live tour was canceled, she's set to begin the Up All Night: Live in 2025 tour in July.

Lopez's split from Affleck doesn't mean that her kids aren't still close with him. For instance, Emme and Max attended the premiere of his new movie, The Accountant 2, in April.

"Kids are here, Jen’s kids are here. I'm very, very excited," Affleck told Entertainment Tonight at the premiere. "I love when all the kids come out. It’s really fun, it’s exciting."

Affleck also shared that Lopez has a great relationship with his kids— Violet, Fin, and Samuel, who he welcomed with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner—and he praised his ex personally.

"Jennifer Lopez is spectacular, great to my kids, great ongoing relationship with them," he said. "I love her kids. They are wonderful. She is enormously important, tremendous person of a lot of integrity, who I adore and am grateful to."

Even though their marriage is over, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez's families are still intertwined. At the premiere of his new movie The Accountant 2, Affleck talked about his relationship with his ex-wife's children and her relationship with his kids. Their divorced was finalized earlier this year.

In the interview with Entertainment Tonight, Affleck recognized that there is speculation in the media about where he and Lopez stand, but he wanted to set the record straight that they're still in each others' children's lives and that he still has a lot of admiration for her.

"Jennifer Lopez is spectacular, great to my kids, great ongoing relationship with them," the 52-year-old star said. "I love her kids. They are wonderful. She is enormously important, tremendous person of a lot of integrity, who I adore and am grateful to."

He added that he was "thrilled" that the kids were at the premiere, calling them "a joy in my life." He continued, "Those kids are amazing, and I’m glad that this is a movie they want to come to."

Similar to Affleck's account, a source told People in November 2024 that Lopez was in touch with her ex's children.

"Jennifer keeps in touch with the Affleck kids. Her whole family loves them," the source said. "She wants them to know that they can always reach out if they need anything at all."

Affleck opened up about his divorce from Lopez for the first time in a March interview with GQ. He made it clear that while people have questions about their split, there isn't some juicy gossip that they're hiding.

In an October 2024 conversation with comedian Nikki Glaser for Interview, Lopez talked about the split. She didn't mention Affleck by name, but talked about the difficult summer she'd experienced.

After putting out a new album, its accompanying film, and her documentary last year—all of which had to do with her relationship with Affleck—Lopez said, "I felt like, whoa, I got here. I’m good. I did all the work and look at where I am, and then it was like my whole fucking world exploded."

The source claimed, "Jennifer wanted to settle the divorce quickly...She didn't want to spend the year fighting Ben because this is now her time to reconnect with fans and thrive post-divorce."

Fans of the singer should reportedly prepare themselves for Lopez's magnum opus, with a source telling the outlet, "People close to her feel this will be her version of Beyoncé's Lemonade [about husband Jay-Z's infidelity]. She's working...to create the perfect comeback."

The source claimed Lopez would also love to tour in 2026, after being forced to cancel her summer 2024 performances amid her split from Affleck.

Meanwhile, the publication also cited alternate sources who said Lopez was "happy" and not planning "revenge" on her ex of any kind. As a previous report suggested Affleck was happily enjoying single life, too, perhaps these two are simply ready to move on once and for all.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez got back together—and got married and then divorced—about 20 years after they were first together. So, it is possible that a rekindling is also possible for the other Bennifer? The rumor mill is definitely churning, particularly after Affleck and his ex-wife Jennifer Garner were photographed together at a paintball birthday party for their son, Samuel, who recently turned 13.

On March 4, TMZ published a video from the outing in which Affleck hugs Garner around the waist while they're in their paintball gear. In a photo from the party, they're seen laughing together. Alas, this is enough to get people talking!

According to a source who spoke with People, the exes "have been on good terms for a while now and seem to enjoy chatting and hanging out." They added that the Air actor "usually acts happy around" Garner, but has been "extra giddy lately, though, and much more affectionate." The source said of Garner, "She doesn't seem to mind. She seems to enjoy spending time with Ben."

Adding to the gossip, a source told Page Six that Affleck "would love another chance" with Garner." They explained that he "would definitely be open to giving things another shot with Jen if the timing is ever right. At the same time, Ben knows it’s just not realistic at this time in their lives.”

Garner and Affleck were together for 10 years, from 2005 to 2015, and their divorce was finalized in 2018. They have three children together: Samuel, 16-year-old Fin, and 19-year-old Violet.

Affleck seeming "extra giddy" is obviously not concrete evidence that he and Garner are going to get back together. Also throwing a wrench in this idea? Garner has reportedly been dating John Miller, an investment company CEO, since 2018.

Responding to the claim that Affleck is interested another shot with Garner, a different source told Page Six , "The feeling is not mutual on Jen’s side. She’s happy with John and that’s just not where her head is at. She has a great co-parenting relationship with Ben, and that’s where things stand on her end at the moment.”

An insider also told Us Weekly that Affleck and Garner getting back together is "ridiculous" and that they are simply "good friends."

So, a lot from sources and insiders out here, but what have Affleck and Garner said? Not much, recently. In a 2020 interview with The New York Times the Tender Bar star talked about his divorce and his struggles with alcohol.

"The biggest regret of my life is this divorce," Affleck said. "Shame is really toxic. There is no positive byproduct of shame. It’s just stewing in a toxic, hideous feeling of low self-worth and self-loathing."

As for Garner, she keeps pretty private when it comes to her personal life, but a comment she made on a November 2024 episode of the Lipstick on the Rim podcast made a second Bennifer reconciliation sound very unlikely. Asked about the best advice she'd ever received, she said her mother told her, "Never expect a man—don’t marry a man thinking you can change him. She joked that she was "really gonna work on that one."

Following the news that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's divorce has been finalized, a source has suggested the Marry Me singer is relieved the "nightmare" breakup is finally over.

Speaking to People, a source claimed, "The fairy tale she was promised turned out to be a nightmare in the end." Despite enduring what sounds like a difficult breakup, J.Lo is reportedly "in a really good place," with the source claiming the singer "just wants to close the door on this crazy chapter."

On Jan. 6, it was reported that Lopez and Affleck had finalized their divorce. Lopez was the one to file for divorce on the two year anniversary of their Georgia wedding, after months of speculation about the state of the couple's relationship. At the time, a source told People that Lopez was "heartbroken," having "tried really hard to make things work" with Affleck.

Following their split, Lopez and Affleck were seen together on multiple occasions, usually for the sake of their children. "The kids are a top priority, as they always have been," People's source said.

Despite breaking up, Lopez and Affleck have been nothing but respectful of one another in the press. During a November 2024 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Affleck called his ex-wife "spectacular" while describing her performance in the movie Unstoppable. However, J.Lo has emphasized how crushed she was when her love story with Affleck ended for a second time.

While speaking with Nikki Glaser for Interview magazine in October 2024, Lopez explained, "I was thinking about this time in my life, and I'm like, 'That's not what I thought it was going to turn out like.'" She continued, "And then I thought, 'No, this is exactly where I needed to be, to lead me to where I want to go.'"

In spite of her obvious devastation, Lopez stressed that she didn't regret giving her romance with Affleck a second chance. "Not one second," she told Glaser. "That doesn't mean it didn't almost take me out for good. It almost did."

Ultimately, Lopez survived the monumental breakup, and is seemingly hopeful about the future. "But now, on the other side of it, I think to myself, 'F**k, that is exactly what I needed,'" Lopez explained. "'Thank you, god. I'm sorry it took me so long. I'm sorry that you had to do this to me so many times. I should have learned it two or three times ago. I get it. You had to hit me really hard over the head with a f**king sledgehammer. You dropped the house on me. Don't have to do it again.'"

They say life imitates art, and it's hard not to think of Jennifer Lopez's real-life struggles in 2024 while reading her most recent interview promoting her new movie, Unstoppable.

Unstoppable tells the inspirational true story of athlete Anthony Robles, who was born with one leg and defied expectations by becoming a champion wrestler in college. In the movie, Lopez plays Judy Robles, who overcame obstacles of her own (including financial hardships and domestic violence) while raising Anthony as a single mother.

The real Judy Robles has been joining Lopez in promoting the film and, according to Variety, has earned standing ovations at screenings of the movie.

“I tell her all the time, ‘You need to own who you are and what you’ve done,’” Lopez told Variety of the inspiring woman she plays in Unstoppable. “You’re inspiring every mother who has ever struggled. You really have triumphed. You’ve raised a son who has become a leader, and you deserve credit.’ But she’s very humble.”

Lopez also touched on the similarities between Judy's story and her own during the interview.

“We both grew up Latina in this country," Lopez said. "We both had children and have hopes and dreams for them. We both had challenging relationships, which left us holding our families together.”

While Lopez didn't elaborate on the "challenging relationships" she's dealt with in her own life, the comment came amid the actress and singer's divorce from Ben Affleck. Instead of lingering on the specific challenges she and Judy Robles have faced, Lopez turned the conversation toward the ways those challenges made them both stronger in the long-run.

“From the minute women are born, we’re always having to prove ourselves, to show we’re good enough,” she explained. “That creates a type of strength. And then a lot of us give birth—and there’s nothing that makes you stronger than doing that.”

In 2023, a source close to the situation gushed about the women's bond after Garner invited Lopez's child, Emme, to join her and Seraphina on a trip to Disneyland.

A high-profile divorce can't keep Jennifer Lopez down. The actress just spent the Christmas holiday in Aspen, Colorado, with her family, complete with designer duds and fur-trimmed boots.

Lopez shared photos from the winter wonderland getaway on Instagram Wednesday, and it's clear the whole family had a blast. The singer's sister, Lynda Lopez, and her daughter, Lucie, joined Lopez and her two children, Emme and Max, at the ski resort. The Christmas vacation was complete with matching pajamas and a perfectly snowy cabin view.

Days before her Colorado getaway, Lopez met up with her estranged husband in Los Angeles to exchange holiday gifts. But while the Gone Girl actor and "Jenny From the Block" singer appear to have a friendly enough relationship these days, one source tells Entertainment Tonight that they kind of only interact when they have to.

2024 has been an eventful year for Jennifer Lopez. Now, the superstar is opening up about what it's like being a single mother to her 16-year-old twins, Max and Emme.

In spite of her own feelings on the matter, Garner will reportedly remained tight-lipped around her kids. "[Garner] would never badmouth [Lopez] or speak negatively about her," the source alleged.

Ultimately, Garner apparently has veto regarding whether her children can see Lopez or not. "Everyone knows that if J.Lo wanted to spend time with her children aside from Violet, it would have to go through [Garner]," the source claimed.

Earlier this year, it was reported that Garner played "mediator" between Lopez and Affleck, which can't have been easy. According to another source (via DailyMail.com), "Jen [Garner] feels slightly used as a pawn in J.Lo's bid to repair her marriage." The source continued, "She doesn't believe it was intentional."

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck met in 2002 when they both signed on to star in the movie Gigli. They became a couple soon after, and even got engaged later that year. However, the movie, which was released in 2003, was a box office disaster, reportedly grossing just $7 million against a $75 million budget.

Now, Affleck has opened up about why Gigli "doesn't sit right with him" in an interview with Deadline. Discussing why Artists Equity, the production company he founded with Matt Damon, is so important, Affleck referenced the famous flop he made with his soon-to-be ex-wife.

"Look, I’ve been in movies like Gigli, that's a famous example," he explained. "I got a big cash payday for that. Well, it doesn't feel right in retrospect because they lost money. It wasn't the biggest money-losing movie in history even though it was the most famous bomb in history, perhaps."

Affleck also discussed the movie Unstoppable, which was produced by his company and stars Lopez. "So far, I’m really proud of everything we've done," Affleck told the outlet. "Small Things, Air, Accountant 2, The Instigators. Unstoppable, which Jennifer Lopez is terrific in."

This isn't the first time Affleck has discussed his involvement in Gigli. In a 2022 interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actor reflected on why the film didn't resonate with audiences.

"But really, the truth about that movie and what it taught me was how much everything around a movie sort of dictates the way people see it," Affleck told the outlet. "But for being a movie that's such a famous bomb and a disaster, very few people actually saw the movie. It doesn't work, by the way. It's a sort of horse's head in a cow's body."

As well as not necessarily "working" as a cohesive movie, Affleck knows that the press attention his romance with Lopez received also contributed to its failure.

"And the studio at the time, because I had begun having this relationship with Jennifer Lopez, which was selling a lot of magazines and appeared to generate a lot of enthusiasm, they just predictably latched onto, 'They want a romantic comedy,'" he explained. "'They want the two of them together. More of that!' And it was just like that SNL sketch: 'Bad Idea.'"

According to one source who spoke to Entertainment Tonight, "Ben has other priorities that are more important, but he's open to it."

DailyMail.com's source even alleged that Violet actually invited Lynda to visit her at Yale. "Violet said that she just reached out to her and said she wanted to come visit," the source claimed.

Unfortunately, Ben and Garner aren't necessarily on board with Violet's ongoing friendships with members of the Lopez family.

"The first time Ben saw this photo was online," the source alleged to DailyMail.com. "He wasn't aware that Lynda was visiting. But Violet is an adult, and she is allowed to do as she pleases and spend time with who she wants to."

The source suggested that the real issue might be that the selfie of Violet and Lynda was posted on the internet at all.

"Ben and Jen feel Lynda and Violet could have spent time together and even taken a cute photo together without it going online for the world to see," the source explained.

Back in July, a source told Entertainment Tonight that Violet's friendship with J.Lo placed him in a precarious position. However, Ben and his soon-to-be ex-wife were apparently "trying to make this transition as easy as possible and be gentle on their children." Jennifer Lopez's love might not "cost a thing," but her mega-mansion certainly does. The 38,000-square-foot Los Angeles home she once shared with Ben Affleck has been on the market for 100 days, as of Oct. 21, and it doesn't seem to be flying off the busy real estate market anytime soon.

Lopez and Affleck—who filed for divorce in August after two years of marriage—purchased the home, known as Crestview Manor, for the casual price of $60.8 million in May 2023. It features 12 bedrooms, 24 bathrooms, mountain views, a 12-car garage, pool, pickleball court and pretty much any other amenity you could dream up. The couple listed their property on Zillow for the jaw-dropping sum of $68 million in July, but as one can imagine, there aren't that many people out there clamoring to drop nearly $70 million on a house.

In September, TMZ reported that the couple almost had a sale, but the potential buyers backed out of the deal after making a $64 million offer on the property that was accepted by the "Let's Get Loud" singer and her ex. And now the home is still sitting on the market. Meanwhile, Affleck reportedly purchased a $20.5 million L.A. home over the summer while J.Lo is said to be considering buying the historic home of late BCBG founder Max Azria.

Even though Crestview Manor has been sitting for more than three months on the market, Selling Sunset star Jason Oppenheim told Realtor.com that in his professional opinion, the former couple shouldn't worry.

"It would have been surprising for the house to sell in less than 100 days," The Oppenheim Group co-founder said, adding, that in his experience, "most homes of this magnitude are on the market for six months, and in many cases significantly longer."

That being said, the luxury real estate expert pointed out that he doesn't think that the former power couple will get what they're asking. "It’s likely they will sell the house in the $58 million to $60 million range, thus they could lose several million dollars on the sale,” Oppenheim said.

Another issue is the home's location, which is subject to a special "mansion tax." The reality star noted that since Crestview Manor "is located in the Beverly Hills Post Office area, which is technically in the city of Los Angeles (not the independent city of Beverly Hills)" Lopez and Affleck "will have to pay a mansion tax of more than $3 million."

This means the exes "could lose more than an additional $5 million after commissions, taxes, etc.," Oppenheim told Realtor.com. Luckily, J.Lo is reportedly manifesting an Oscar and planning a major 2025 comeback including a tour and new album, so it seems like she'll be just fine.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner proved once again that they've mastered the art of putting family first as they attended a casual evening event in LA's Brentwood neighborhood on Friday, Oct. 18. But the exes—who were accompanied by their 15-year-old child, Seraphina—narrowly avoided an awkward run-in with Affleck's other ex-wife, Jennifer Lopez, who arrived just minutes later, per TMZ.

Page Six reported that J.Lo—who looked chic in a belted chambray jumpsuit—attended the unspecified event with her 16-year-old child, Emme, and several friends.

Affleck, who strolled alongside Garner, kept it cool and casual in a pair of jeans, topped with a film-themed burgundy graphic tee and a cozy maroon sherpa-lined jacket. Meanwhile, the Deadpool & Wolverine actress bundled up in a black scarf and jacket along with jeans and black Chelsea boots.

While TMZ noted that it was unclear whether the three exes had a conversation amid Affleck and Lopez's ongoing divorce, the former couple had a near run-in back in September when they were both working from the same office building where they have shared office space. However, a July report indicated that there's no bad blood between the Jens.

"She’s been helpful to J.Lo, and they’ve been relating to each other," a source told Us Weekly in July of Garner, who divorced Affleck in 2018.

As for Lopez, she filed for divorce from the Argo star on the couple's second wedding anniversary in August. Despite a difficult year for the Marry Me star, she seems to have her sights set on the future—and a major 2025 comeback.

"She wants next year to be her best year ever to show the world her crummy love life did not get her down. She will rise," a source told the Daily Mail.

Apparently, the "Let's Get Loud" singer is also manifesting a big win at the Academy Awards. "She wants an Oscar for Unstoppable," an insider added, noting that the actress "felt she deserved it" years ago for her role in Hustlers.

Ben Affleck is back at it amid Jennifer Lopez' new revelations about their divorce.

The actor was photographed on a movie set in Los Angeles on Wednesday, Oct. 9, as reported by People. His workwear for the occasion included an orange plaid jacket than can only be described as "pumpkin-spice chic," plus a casual dark gray T-shirt and jeans.

It's unclear which project Affleck was filming for this week, though People reports he has a bunch of movies in the works right now, including many with his and Matt Damon's production company, Artists Equity.

This latest Ben Affleck sighting comes just as Lopez broke her silence on the two's painful, and painfully public, divorce in an in-depth interview.

Speaking to Nikki Glaser for Interview magazine, the "Jenny From the Block" singer admitted that this second separation from Affleck, whom she thought was end-game, threatened to "take me out for good."

However, the superstar was also very philosophical about the whole thing, and chalked it up to a lesson learned at last.

"I was thinking about this time in my life, and I’m like, 'That’s not what I thought it was going to turn out like,'" she said, referring to the split. "And then I thought, 'No, this is exactly where I needed to be, to lead me to where I want to go.'"

She added, "But now, on the other side of it, I think to myself, 'F**k, that is exactly what I needed. Thank you, god. I’m sorry it took me so long. I’m sorry that you had to do this to me so many times. I should have learned it two or three times ago. I get it. You had to hit me really hard over the head with a f**king sledgehammer. You dropped the house on me. Don’t have to do it again.'"

These words were seemingly in reference to a number of her engagements and marriages that ended in a painful breakup: Lopez has been engaged six times total, and married four.

The star filed for divorce from the Gone Girl actor on Aug. 20, after two years of marriage. The filing followed months of speculation that the two were heading for divorce.

The spouses reconnected in 2021 after 14 years apart, then got engaged and married in 2022.

The superstar sat down with Nikki Glaser for a conversation in Interview magazine, and she got more candid than anyone possibly expected about the much-publicized split, how it affected her, and what she learned from it.

Lopez has famously been engaged six times, once to Ojani Noa in 1997, to Cris Judd in 2000, to Marc Anthony in 2004, and to Alex Rodriguez in 2019, plus twice to Ben Affleck, in 2002 and 2022. Out of the six, Lopez ended up getting married four times, to Noa, Judd, Anthony, and Affleck the second time.

Speaking to Glaser, she said, "I finally got it!"

Though Lopez is grateful for the lessons, of course that doesn't mean it hasn't been a really difficult time for her.

"It feels lonely, unfamiliar, scary. It feels sad. It feels desperate," she said. "But when you sit in those feelings and go, 'These things are not going to kill me,' it’s like actually, I am capable of joy and happiness all by myself.

"Being in a relationship doesn’t define me. I can’t be looking for happiness in other people. I have to have happiness within myself. I used to say I’m a happy person, but was still looking for something for somebody else to fill, and it’s just like, 'No, I’m actually good.'"

Lopez and Affleck reconnected in 2021 after 17 years apart, and quickly got engaged then married the following year. The "Love Don't Cost a Thing" singer filed for divorce on one of their wedding anniversaries, on Aug. 20, 2024, after just two years of marriage. In the divorce filing, she cited their separation date as April 26.

Say what you will about Ben Affleck, the man sure has a whole bunch of loyal friends.

His pal Kevin Smith, who is currently promoting his new project The 4:30 Movie, has once again expressed his deep admiration for Affleck amid the actor's divorce from Jennifer Lopez.

"I've always adored him," Smith explained to People, adding that the Gone Girl star is "just the goods."

Smith also went on to say that it's a shame most people judge Affleck based on his love life, rather than on who he is at his core.

"I know everyone is aware of his private life from the outside, but I just wish people could hang out with him for a day and know him the way I know him, the way [friend and collaborator] Jason Mewes knows him," the Clerks director continued.

"He's just a really funny sweetheart of a guy who's a great father—just like Jason Mewes, another great father."

It's the second time in just a matter of days that Smith has shared how much he loves Affleck, calling him "one of my favorite people on the planet" in an interview with People last week.

In that interview, he also explained that he hasn't reached out to Affleck amid the divorce because, quote, "that would be very threatening."

He explained, "That guy right now. He'd be like, 'Oh my God, Kevin Smith with his loose lips,'" calling himself Affleck's "least trustworthy friend on the planet."

Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck on Aug. 20 after two years of marriage and months of speculation that a separation was imminent.

The exes are reportedly keeping things friendly, and have been spotted grabbing lunch with some of their respective children as well as meeting with Hollywood's most sought after divorce lawyer.

Ben Affleck's friend Kevin Smith is devastated about the actor's divorce from Jennifer Lopez, but he hasn't reached out to him since it happened.

Though that statement may sound jarring, Smith's reasons are actually very thoughtful.

The Clerks star explained in an interview with People that his wife of 25 years, Jennifer Schwalbach Smith, had suggested he reach out to Affleck when they heard about the breakup, but he said, "that would be very threatening."

Smith added, "That guy right now. He'd be like, 'Oh my God, Kevin Smith with his loose lips.'" He then jokingly called himself the Gone Girl star's "least trustworthy friend on the planet." Basically, he's saying that he would probably inadvertently spread gossip about Bennifer if Affleck were to confide in him.

Smith hasn't spoken to Affleck since last year, but he says, "I'm sure I'll run into him again.

"Of course, there's always something that I'm like, 'Oh my God, I need a movie star. Let's call Ben.'"

Re: the divorce of it all, Smith explained that Affleck is "one of my favorite people on the planet" and that Lopez is "wonderful too."

He commented, "And if they're not going forward, that breaks my heart and stuff, but I've always adored him."

The spouses indirectly announced their divorce to the world when Lopez filed on Aug. 20, after just two years of marriage. Since then, they have spotted going out for lunch with their children, and meeting with divorce lawyer Laura Wasser in Los Angeles.

Divorce rumors had surrounded Lopez and Affleck since May, when the singer showed up to the Met Gala solo despite her important role on the night.

The two famously reconnected in 2021, 14 years after their original breakup in 2004.

Where the "Jenny From the Block" singer will live now that the breakup is official is still unclear, but TMZ previously reported that she was looking at the late Max Azria's former home—a $55 million estate in the Holmby Hills. Affleck moved to the home, which cost him an eye-watering $100,000 a month (per the Robb Report), several months back as rumors of an impending divorce with Jennifer Lopez gained traction.

Even before the divorce became reality with Lopez' Aug. 20 filing, the spouses had put their marital home—purchased just last year—on the market circa early June.

Reports then emerged in late July that the Gone Girl star had purchased a new home for himself for a whopping $20.5 million, located on the border of Brentwood and the Pacific Palisades in Los Angeles.

According to the Robb Report, Affleck's new home will make him neighbors with one Diane Keaton. It's also more convenient for him to see his ex-wife Jennifer Garner and their children who are still living at home, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12. Their eldest daughter Violet, 18, just started college at Yale.

While the filmmaker's new house is lavish, with horse stables and a screening room, it pales in comparison to the over-the-top home Affleck and Lopez purchased together in Beverly Hills. That property is on the market for some $68 million, per the Zillow listing, and boasts 12 beds, 24 baths (literally, why?), basketball and pickleball courts, a gym, a boxing ring...

The home actually had buyers, who had their $64 million offer accepted, but the deal fell out of escrow (Selling Sunset fans, did I say that right?), per TMZ.

On Sept. 14, the couple reunited for an outing with their blended family, causing many to speculate that the couple might be reconciling.

While their recent meeting got plenty of fans' hopes up, a source tells TMZ not to expect yet another reboot of Jen and Ben's relationship. "There's a lot of history between the two. They still have a lot of love for each other but the marriage just didn't work," the insider said.

"They both know they will be in each other’s lives because of the kids and are remaining friendly. But the divorce is still happening," another source told Us Weekly.

And while they might not be getting back together, we have a feeling there will be plenty more twists in the Bennifer divorce.

One source also told Page Six about the lunch, "Once they were together, [Affleck] could not keep his hands off. They have always had a lot of sexual chemistry. That was not planned. They are still attracted to one another."

Now, Us Weekly's second source has made a similar point, claiming that there's "a small chance" Bennifer 3.0 could become a reality in the future.

"J.Lo has stayed over at Ben’s place a couple times," the source alleged. "When it’s good, it’s really good, but when it’s bad, it’s really bad—and things are so good when they are friends. If things are better between them because they’re separated, that’s a reason the divorce would go through."

For the source, the reasons behind the couple's marriage breaking down are still valid. "A lot of their issues stemmed from lifestyle differences," they said. "They are just on completely different schedules—and nothing has changed [since breaking up]."

"Once they were together, he could not keep his hands off," the source alleged to Page Six. "They have always had a lot of sexual chemistry. That was not planned. They are still attracted to one another."

The source added, "It was Ben Affleck’s idea to meet there. He wanted to show that they are friendly exes. He wanted those photos. You go there when you want to be seen. Paparazzi hang out there."

As for the PDA, one eyewitness previously claimed to Page Six, "Ben and J.Lo are currently at the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel holding hands and kissing. The kids are with them, but at a separate table."

Still, one source told People that despite this "friendly" and "fun" lunch together, "They are still moving forward with the divorce though."

In her first red carpet appearance since filing for divorce on the embattled couple's 2-year wedding celebration anniversary, Lopez stepped out in what can only be referred to as a "revenge" dress—one she wasn't entirely sure she was going to wear—arguably kicking off her post-split fashion ensembles.

While attending the premiere of her new movie Unstoppable—produced by Affleck's company, Artists Equity—during the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival at Roy Thomson Hall, the actress told People there was "a discussion" as to whether or not she'd wear the silver Tamara Ralph gown, featuring head-to-toe slits on the side held together with large black bows.

"There was a discussion about whether I should or shouldn't," Lopez explained at the time. "And I was like, f*** it. It felt good."

The statement gown resembled a molten disco ball, with mirrored panels that dripped down her frame in a column silhouette. The bows, it turns out, were holding the dress together.

On Saturday, Sept. 14, Affleck and Lopez were spotted in Los Angeles, enjoying what appeared to be a blended family outing alongside their children.

Affleck shares Finn, 15, and Samuel, 12 with his ex, Jennifer Garner, while Lopez shares 16-year-old twins Emme and Max with her ex, Marc Anthony.

According to the Daily Mail, the pair were engaged in what appeared to be an "intense conversation."

At on point, Affleck "leaned in closely to speak" to Lopez while "gesturing with his arms," the publication reports, adding that "as they sat in their car, Jennifer seemed to wipe away tears."

The outing marked the first time the pair have reunited (at least publicly) since Lopez filed for divorce on Aug. 20, which happened to be the couple's 2-year anniversary of their wedding celebration in Georgia. According to reports, Lopez filed without a lawyer and requested that "Affleck" be legally removed from her last name.

For the occasion, Lopez wore a casual-but chic long-sleeve crop top, along with a pair of matching black jeans. Affleck also kept it casual, wearing a pair of simple blue jeans and a blue button-up shirt.

The outing may have also marked the first time Affleck and Lopez have spent time with each other's children. According to one source who previously spoke to People in the wake of the divorce filings, Affleck had "not been in touch" with Lopez's twins since the split.

"The fact that he has not seen her kids in a long time, it’s like he left, but she is especially close to his kids," the insider told the publication at the time.

The split came after months of rumors surrounding the couple's marriage. Since Lopez filed for divorce, additional reporting has surfaced, citing various insiders who have pointed to a number of alleged reasons for the apparent end of the couple's marriage.

According to one source, Lopez assumed Affleck was a "changed man," only to find out that the same issues that plagued their early aughts relationship remained.

"He sold her on him being a changed man, and that lasted a very short time," another source told Page Six, adding that Affleck allegedly changed during the couple's honeymoon on Lake Como in Italy in 2022.

"He was unhappy with paparazzi following them," the source continued. "She is an international superstar, and he acted like it came as a surprise that they would be followed around.

Other reports claim Lopez filed for divorce because she was tired of being "humiliated" by Affleck, while others say that Affleck "had a darkness to him" that ultimately contributed to the demise of their relationship.

The pop star — who filed for divorce from husband Ben Affleck in August — is said to be in negotations for her dream home, and it's certainly a whopper of a property.

Per TMZ, Lopez, 55, has set her sights on the former home of late BCBG founder Max Azria, and if you want to take a peek, the historic Los Angeles property is right on Zillow for your browsing pleasure.

Dubbed the Azria estate, the incredible 30,000-square-foot mansion is currently on the market for a cool $55 million.

According to TMZ, the actress "is trying to negotiate the price down to somewhere in the range of $30 million to $39 million" but is "close to striking a deal."

The estate — which features a "long, gated driveway" for "security and peace of mind," per its Zillow listing — was built in 1939 by famed architect Paul Williams, who designed homes for stars like Frank Sinatra.

With 14 bedrooms and 25 (!) bathrooms, the home would give J.Lo plenty of space for her friends and family, and additional features include an infinity pool, sauna, tennis court and greenhouse.

And when it comes to extra space, this mansion doesn't just have any old she-shed, with a separate 5,500-square-foot building housing an office, theater and game room.

Lopez would also be surrounded by famous neighbors like Tom Ford and Sean "Diddy" Combs, whose home (which is also up for sale) borders the estate.

This isn't the first time the Marry Me star has set foot on the Azria estate; she looked at the property with Affleck in 2023 and she also filmed on the grounds for her movie Atlas.

Unfortunately, the house comes with one catch, as there's currently a breach-of-contract battle between Max Azria's widow, Lubov Azria, and investor Ron Burkle, who placed a winning $30 million bid on the estate in the spring.

Sources tell TMZ that Lopez "started showing renewed interest in the home in August" despite the lawsuit and has "taken several tours."

As for Lopez and Affleck's own mansion, the property is also listed on Zillow, with the 12 bedroom, 24 bath home going for $68 million.

Whether or not the singer strikes a deal on the Azria estate remains to be seen, but just imagine the housewarming party.

It's not clear if Lopez had the tattoo permanently removed or merely covered it up with makeup for the event, but either way, the ink's absence made a clear statement.

Lopez and Affleck got tattoos dedicated to each other for Valentine's Day in 2023 as a symbol of their love and, specifically, their commitment—at least according to the Instagram post Lopez shared to debut the tats, which she captioned, "Commitment ♾️ Happy Valentine’s Day my love 🤍."

Lopez's commitment tattoo for Affleck was an infinity sign with a Cupid's arrow running through it and "Jennifer" and "Ben" written around the outline, which was located on her left ribcage. Affleck, for his part, got a tattoo of two crossed arrows with the initials "J" and "B" in honor of Lopez.

The singer and actress's appearance marked the first public outing for Lopez since filing for divorce from Affleck after two years of marriage and months of relentless rumors regarding their troubled relationship.

Affleck, however, was noticeably absent from the festivities. Instead, the actor as spotted in Los Angeles, where he currently lives and after moving out from his multi-million dollar marital mansion. (Damon and his wife, however, were in attendance.)

A source who recently spoke to People claims that the divorce could "get ugly," in part because Lopez and Affleck did not have a prenuptial agreement in place prior to tying the knot.

“There are some sticking points over financials," the source told the publication at the time, adding that the pair are handling their split in mediation with high-powered divorce attorney Laura Wasser (who People reports has worked with A-listers like Kim Kardashian and Kevin Costner in the past ).

As the exes continue to navigate their split, Lopez is reportedly looking to "remake her image," and after not only her marriage to Affleck but making their rekindled romance a focal point in her career via an album and a documentary.

“She is open to listening to new voices of those around her," a source recently told Page Six. "She needs advice from some new people to add a new layer and get some new suggestions."

The report comes after additional reporting claims that Lopez was tired of being "humiliated" by Affleck, which led to her filing paperwork to end their marriage.

"Jennifer said she was tired of being humiliated by Ben and she waited until the two year anniversary because she wanted to sting," a source told the Daily Mail. "But it did not sting him. He's been done for a long time and deep down she knows this. He let her have this so that she wouldn't look like the villain."

Jennifer Lopez made at least one very big compromise during her marriage to Ben Affleck—a $60 million compromise, according to a new report.

A source told People that Lopez was never really a fan of the 38,000 sq. ft. Beverly Hills mansion she and Affleck bought together for a reported $60.8 million in May 2023 (they listed the home for $68 million in July, shortly before Lopez filed for divorce).

"The $68 million mansion was Ben’s idea and a major compromise for her," the source told People of the 12-bedroom, 24-bathroom contemporary-style (read: ultra-modern) home, which was a far cry from the actress and singer's preferred aesthetic. "She loves the romantic, Spanish, European vibe."

As for why Lopez agreed to the purchase, the source suggested that the former couple's large blended family (which included Affleck's three children with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15 and Samuel, 12, as well as Lopez's 16-year-old twins Max and Emme, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Marc Anthony), played a big role in the decision.

"She agreed to it because of its spacious layout, accommodating both their families, a gym and a pickleball court, office space, plus it has two private entrances," the source said.

There are two sides to every story, though, and a second source told People that it was actually Affleck who made a sacrifice by agreeing to the pricey Beverly Hills mansion, since the commute to and from his kids' primary home in Brentwood was a lot.

“His life’s in Brentwood. His kids live there. It was such a pain and time consuming for Ben to navigate traffic from their house. He never liked it," the Affleck source claimed, citing the fact that the actor rented a house in Brentwood after his split from Lopez as further proof that he was never a fan of the Beverly Hills home.

Although Lopez and Affleck had not publicly announced their split when they listed the mansion for sale in July, industry insiders quickly pointed to the decision, along with Affleck's solo purchase of a $20 million home in Los Angeles the same month, as evidence that a divorce announcement could be imminent.

"Generally, people do not sell their primary residence a year after they buy it unless there is a divorce, a death, or some kind of desperation. I’m also going to take (a guess) that they’re not going to walk out of this making money," real estate agent Josh Flagg told People at the time. "They’re going to either break even or take a small loss."

Jennifer Lopez is reportedly ready to embrace change in a big way after her split from Ben Affleck.

According to Page Six, a source close to Lopez said that the actress and singer "is looking to make over her image” as she heads into the post-Affleck era of her life. This might mean bringing new people into the J.Lo inner circle, apparently.

This report comes just a few days after Lopez took to Instagram with a post captioned, "Oh, it was a summer," that many interpreted as a subtle comment the upheaval in her personal life this summer (she filed for divorce from Affleck on August 20).

Don't expect to see this image makeover change Lopez's professional pursuits though, as Page Six reports that this push for "new voices" will be focused on her personal life, and stresses that things are "still rock solid" between Lopez and her long-term manager, Benny Medina.

Adding to her personal support system could be a great idea, since another source close to the star recently told People that Lopez and Affleck's divorce "has the potential to get ugly" and that “there are some sticking points over financials," for the exes, who didn't have a prenuptial agreement.

As for why the lack of a prenup could lead the split to turn "ugly," things between the exes already sound tense, based on intel from People's source, who offered a little insight into the messy split.

“Ben began moving his things out of their shared home while Jennifer was in New York in April, effectively blindsiding her,” the source explained, adding that Affleck “wouldn’t answer texts or calls" from Lopez by May.

"Oh, it was a summer," she captioned the post, which featured four pictures including a mirror selfie of Lopez showing off a revealing all-white bathing suit. The entrepreneur also shared a photo of her enjoying an ice cream cone.

Lopez also shared a photograph of a t-shirt with the phrase "she's in bloom and unbothered out of reach and at peace," along with a photograph of sunflowers.

On Instagram, Lopez shared even more photos, including additional mirror selfies as well as the mom of two wearing a white babydoll dress, dark red Gucci Signoria slingback pumps and a matching Gucci Jackie Notte miniature bag.

On Aug. 20, Lopez officially filed paperwork to end her marriage from Affleck and after months of rumors regarding the state of their relationship.

Incidentally, or perhaps purposefully according to some reports, Lopez filed on the anniversary of the pair's 2022 wedding ceremony in Georgia, which served as a family and friend celebration after the pair got married in Las Vegas earlier that year, in July.

"Jennifer said she was tired of being humiliated by Ben and she waited until the two year anniversary because she wanted to sting," a source told the Daily Mail. "But it did not sting him. He's been done for a long time and deep down she knows this. He let her have this so that she wouldn't look like the villain.

"After four failed marriages, her friends feel that she should take a look inside and focus on herself instead of what others want her to be and finally figure out who she is and what she wants from her future," the insider continued.

Other sources who spoke exclusively to Page Six said that the "big love Jennifer believes in" is "not in (Affleck's) DNA."

"Ben has a darkness to him that no other person can fix," the insider told the publication. "Jen Garner (Affleck's ex-wife) couldn't fix it, all the success in the world couldn't fix it.

"She would have done anything to make this work," the source continued. "She opened herself up to criticism, ridicule and countless naysayers who told her this was a bad idea, that it was doomed, that there was a reason it didn't work the first time. But she didn't want to believe it— she truly believed love would conquer all.”
