It was 2022; the theme was "In America: An Anthology of Fashion," and I was obsessed.

Stark white ostrich feathers decorated the entire asymmetrical skirt, before becoming more concentrated toward the end.

The Gossip Girl alum hardly leaves her Tribeca townhome without a rare Chanel handbag in tow. On Monday, however, a logo-less crossbody bag gave her top flaps, minaudières, and clutches the evening off. Three-dimensional petals decorated the rectangular, envelope-style wallet. However, as TMZ reported in March the star planned to skip months in advance of the big night.

Lively's absence from the 2025 Met Gala isn't as surprising as it seems. She and Reynolds haven't actually attended since 2022, when they co-chaired the "In America: An Anthology of Fashion" installment. The duo met the "Gilded Glamour" dress code with a look that went down in Met Gala history—at least on Blake's part. She worked directly with Versace to craft a strapless dress honoring the Statue of Liberty: It first appeared in a bright, metallic bronze resembling the original statue, before it unfurled to reveal a second layer streaked with the turquoise defining today's monument.

Anyone with internet access and even a passing interest in pop culture is probably aware of the ongoing legal battle between Blake Lively and her It Ends With Us director and costar, Justin Baldoni. And now, thanks to Lively, we also know how she's been getting through the objectively stressful personal era she's currently living—with the help of the four children she shares with her husband, Ryan Reynolds.

“It’s no surprise, I have had a pretty intense year," the 37-year-old actress explained during her Thursday night appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, according to a Page Six report, which attributed the intel to an audience member who attended the taping. "They’re just my lifeline. No matter what day I am having."

Lively and Reynolds share three daughters—James, 10, Inez, 8, Betty, 5—and one son, two-year-old Olin and the Gossip Girl actress said that being a mom first has been vital amid the very public feud.

“I have to be Disneyland for them," she added. "It’s the best, it’s chaos."

This isn't the first report that Lively was leaning on family to get through the difficult ordeal with Baldoni. In late December, an insider said that Lively's famous husband was the pillar of her support system.

"Ryan is always her rock," the source told People two days after news of Lively's lawsuit against Baldoni, who also directed It Ends With Us, broke. "They have such a special relationship. He's very proud of her in so many ways."

Lively described her ongoing legal battle with Baldoni as one of the “lowest lows of my life," and it's public knowledge that the actress has been in the midst of this low period for a while now.

Rumors of a feud between Lively and Baldoni picked up steam last summer as the pair were doing press ahead of the release of It Ends With Us and, in December 2024, Lively filed a legal complaint alleging that Baldoni had enlisted a crisis management expert to spearhead a PR plan to attack Lively's reputation and discredit her after the actress complained of misconduct on the movie's set. Baldoni responded by filing a lawsuit of his own in January 2025, which Lively's legal team derided as "desperate" in a statement declaring it "will fail."

“I see so many women around afraid to speak, especially now, afraid to share their experience. Fear is by design, it’s what keeps us silent,” she added, per Page Six. “But I also acknowledge that many people don’t have the opportunity to speak so I do feel fortunate that I have been able to.”

In January, as the legal battle picked up steam, a source close to the actress made it clear that Lively has no plans of backing down or letting up—no matter how difficult the fight might be.

"She still believes she's doing the right thing," the source said. "She's ready to tackle whatever comes her way."

For the occasion, Lively kept her famous blonde strands out and swishing in the wind, and at certain angles, I could see her gorgeous short nails on display. Still, what I was convinced was a look filled with 3D gems or perhaps even nail crowns, was instead a rose quartz manicure, proving that the marble trend will never fully disappear.

She was outfitted in a short sleeve sweater top and matching belt, with a silk maxi in a slightly darker hue.

The three-piece set came straight off Sergio Hudson's Spring 2025 runway and the only difference in styling appeared in Lively's novelty accessories. The actress once again embodied her movie's Amalfi Coast theme, debuting second pair of lemon earrings and another novelty bag.

Earlier this month, she carried a Chanel camera bag to the London screening, but for this event, Lively chose a $5,795 clutch from famed novelty bag designer Judith Leiber. The creation was shaped like a lemon drop martini and covered entirely in gleaming crystals. Lively's final detail was a pair of ombre-hued Christian Louboutin pumps, which were likewise bedazzled.

Now, this is where Beyoncé comes into the picture. The pop star sported this exact same butter yellow look last fall, for Glamour's Woman of the Year event. She, too, chose to wear the set runway-style and finished with a theatrical outfit addition of her own. There were no lemons to be seen, but Beyoncé did wear a dramatic, '60s-style blonde wig to give the co-ord a mod feel.

The matching moment was a drastic departure from Lively's first look of the day. She walked the Another Simple Favor red carpet beforehand in a powder blue mermaid gown with lattice detailing across the bodice and a ruched tulle skirt. This time, the pop of yellow came in the form of the step-and-repeat she posed in front of.

Thus far, butter yellow has been Lively's preferred color story on the Another Simple Favor press trail. And given that promotion is just kicking up, fans will surely be seeing more in the very near future.

The 2025 Met Gala is quickly approaching and team Marie Claire is already in full prep mode. The stories have been assigned and the evening-of schedule has been set—now all there is to do is sit back and wait for the attendees to roll in. However, it seems that Blake Lively has begun the festivities early.

Last night, the Another Simple Favor star attended Time magazine's annual Time100 Gala alongside Serena Williams and Demi Moore. She walked red carpet like it was the Met's staircase. One of the evening's nominees, Lively was the picture of glamour in a corseted gown with drapey, off-the-shoulder detailing. The dusty mauve number had a narrow, column shape, made voluminous by a skirt-train hybrid that billowed out behind her.

Though the piece was actually created by Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad, it closely resembled a Versace dress she wore almost three years ago to the day.

On May 2, 2022, Lively walked the actual Met Steps for the Costume Exhibit's yearly soiree. Honoring the exhibit's theme "In America: An Anthology of Fashion," the actor arrived dressed as a high-fashion Lady Liberty. She wore a blue-green gown, inspired by the statue's rusted sheen, then quick-changed into a dazzling copper-colored look.

Created by former creative director Donatella Versace, the dress was meticulously embellished with ornate beadwork in shades of copper, gold, and brass. Like Lively's Time100 look, it too boasted a sweetheart neckline and a streamlined column shape, with a massive skirt-like taffeta train. Even the colors were somewhat similar—albeit, one was metallic.

Lively's red carpet accessories were also of a similar nature. For both events, the star chose statement earrings made of bright seafoam green stones. For Thursday's red carpet, she selected matching bangles and cocktail rings over metallic opera gloves.

Lively hasn't yet confirmed whether she'll be attending this year's Met Gala. If she ends up sitting out, this look might very well be the closest fans get.

As Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni's legal battle wages on, Taylor Swift is reportedly now being pulled further into the mix. According to a source who spoke with the Daily Mail (via Page Six), Swift will be subpoenaed in relation to the dispute this week. In addition, actor Hugh Jackman is also said to be getting subpoenaed.

Swift and Jackman will "definitely be served this week," the source told the Daily Mail in an article published Tuesday, April 22. "It could happen at any time," the source claimed, adding that Swift has been "waiting."

Marie Claire has reached out to reps for Swift and Jackman for comment.

Baldoni and Lively co-starred in the 2024 movie It Ends with Us, which Baldoni also directed. In December, Lively sued the actor, claiming sexual harassment and retaliation. Baldoni then filed a lawsuit against Lively, as well as her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and her publicist, Leslie Sloane, in which he claimed defamation. Lively, Reynolds, and Baldoni have denied the claims against them. Sloane has requested to be removed from the lawsuit.

Swift is involved, because in Baldoni's lawsuit, he claims that Lively tried to use Swift as leverage to get her way when it came to a scene in the movie. Lively allegedly invited Baldoni to her home where Swift and Reynolds were present, and they allegedly praised Lively's preferences for the film. Baldoni allegedly texted Lively after the visit, "I really love what you did. It really does help a lot. Makes it so much more fun and interesting. (And I would have felt that way without Ryan or Taylor)." As reported by Variety, elsewhere in the filing, Swift is seemingly referred to as Lively's "megacelebrity friend".

The filing also includes an alleged text from Lively to Baldoni reading, "If you ever get around to watching Game of Thrones, you’ll appreciate that I’m Khaleesi, and like her, I happen to have a few dragons. For better or worse, but usually for better. Because my dragons also protect those I fight for. So really we all benefit from those gorgeous monsters of mine. You will too, I can promise you."

Baldoni's lawsuit states, “The message could not have been clearer. Baldoni was not just dealing with Lively. He was also facing Lively’s ‘dragons,’ two of the most influential and wealthy celebrities in the world, who were not afraid to make things very difficult for him."

Baldoni's lawyer, Bryan Freedman, told TMZ in February could be deposed.

As for Jackman, his connection to the dispute is less clear, though he is friends with Lively and Reynolds, and co-starred with Reynolds in 2016's X-Men Origins: Wolverine and 2024's Deadpool & Wolverine.

A trial for Baldoni and Lively is scheduled to begin in March 2026.

Lively was outfitted in shades of cool-toned blue, abandoning her beloved floral prints in favor of a checked plaid shirt jacket.

Her playful outerwear acted as a focal point for her look, layered with an oversize turtleneck sweater in a matching hue and a pair of straight-leg jeans underneath. Ever the fan of early-2000s denim trends, Lively selected a light-wash pair, which came cuffed at the ankles—a Millennial style icon at work.

Taylor Swift is known for having famous friends—see: the "squad"—and one of the most notable and public relationships is with Blake Lively. After all, Swift is the godmother to Lively's children—the two are very close. But, according to reports, some tension arose between the women due to Lively's ongoing legal dispute with her It Ends with Us director and co-star Justin Baldoni. If true, this is understandable given that no one really wants to be part of an extremely public legal dispute that doesn't directly involve them. According to Page Six, though, Lively and Swift have now made up.

To quickly recap: Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni in December in which she claimed sexual harassment and retaliation; he then filed a lawsuit against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and her publicist Leslie Sloane claiming defamation. There are also other related lawsuits and more detailed claims. Sloane has requested to be removed from the lawsuit. Baldoni, Lively, and Reynolds have denied the claims against them. A trial is scheduled to begin in March 2026.

How does Swift fit in? As reported by Page Six, Baldoni claimed that Lively tried to use Swift as leverage to get her preferences for a scene in the film approved. Lively supposedly invited Baldoni to her home where Swift and Reynolds allegedly praised Lively's vision. Baldoni allegedly texted Lively afterward, "I really love what you did. It really does help a lot. Makes it so much more fun and interesting. (And I would have felt that way without Ryan or Taylor)." Baldoni's lawyer, Bryan Freedman, told TMZ in February that Swift could possibly be deposed.

In March, Us Weekly reported that, according to a source, Swift "wasn’t happy with being brought into the legal mess." A source told Page Six that Swift felt "used" in the situation. Meanwhile, another source told Us Weekly, "There’s no truth that this has hurt their relationship. They are still close friends."

Now, a source claims that Lively has apologized to Swift.

"It was important to Blake to be on good terms again with Taylor," they told Page Six. "It was never her intention to hurt Taylor or cause any harm to their friendship. Blake missed their friendship and she hopes they can put this whole thing behind them." The source added that Swift felt the apology was "genuine and heartfelt" and that she "has no hard feelings and is ready to move forward."

So there you have it: Taylor Swift and Blake Lively are probably cool now, and possibly were fine all along.

Blake Lively attended the premiere of her new movie, Another Simple Favor, at SXSW in Austin, Texas, on Friday, March 7. To promote the sequel to 2018's A Simple Favor, Lively wore a latex dress created by a designer who has worked with Lady Gaga.

Lively's blush pink latex shirtdress was designed by Reneé Masoomian, and cleverly features two layers. The top, sheer layer of the Gossip Girl star's outfit is removable, the latex's transparency hinting at the low-cut bustier and flowing skirt underneath.

The actress accentuated the dress's vintage silhouette with a back-pinned, retro hairstyle, and black peep-toe pumps adorned with pom poms and feathers.

Lively had a very quick costume change on the red carpet, removing the top layer of latex to reveal a blush pink corset, and a maxi skirt, which was adorned with black flowers and a black lace hem, and featured black belt detailing at Lively's cinched waist.

At the film's premiere, Lively opened up about returning for a sequel to A Simple Favor. "It's probably my favorite character I've ever been fortunate enough to play," the actress explained (via USA Today). "So when [director] Paul [Feig] asked us to come back I was so excited."

After admitting she was extremely nervous while making the first movie, Lively said of Another Simple Favor, "So I was like, 'OK, no nerves; I know what I'm doing this time.'" The It Ends With Us star continued, "And then right before we started shooting, [Feig] said, 'I have a little bit of a curveball idea.'" On Thursday, Jan. 16, Baldoni's lawyers filed a $400 million lawsuit against Lively as well as Ryan Reynolds, their publicist Leslie Sloane and Sloane's PR firm Vision PR, Inc. over events the actor and director says went on behind the scenes of It Ends With Us.

According to People, Baldoni is "suing on claims of civil extortion, defamation, false light invasion of privacy, breach of implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, intentional interference with contractual relations, intentional interference with prospective economic advantage, and negligent interference with prospective economic advantage."

"This lawsuit is a legal action based on an overwhelming amount of untampered evidence detailing Blake Lively and her team’s duplicitous attempt to destroy Justin Baldoni, his team and their respective companies by disseminating grossly edited, unsubstantiated, new and doctored information to the media. It is clear based on our own all out willingness to provide all complete text messages, emails, video footage and other documentary evidence that was shared between the parties in real time, that this is a battle she will not win and will certainly regret. Blake Lively was either severely misled by her team or intentionally and knowingly misrepresented the truth," Baldoni's attorney, Bryan Freedman, said a statement.

"Let’s not forget, Ms. Lively and her team attempted to bulldoze reputations and livelihoods for heinously selfish reasons through their own dangerous manipulation of the media before even taking any actual legal action," Freedman continued. "We know the truth, and now the public does too," the statement continues. "Justin and his team have nothing to hide, documents do not lie."

Clearly, Baldoni's team had a lot to say about the latest legal filings—but so did Lively's. In response to the defamation suit, Lively's legal team issued a lengthy statement of their own, in which they described the newest lawsuit as both "desperate" and another example of abusive behavior from the actor and which, they ultimately say, "will fail."

“This latest lawsuit from Justin Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios, and its associates is another chapter in the abuser playbook. This is an age-old story: A woman speaks up with concrete evidence of sexual harassment and retaliation and the abuser attempts to turn the tables on the victim. This is what experts call DARVO. Deny. Attack. Reverse Victim Offender,” the statement read. “Wayfarer has opted to use the resources of its billionaire co-founder to issue media statements, launch meritless lawsuits, and threaten litigation to overwhelm the public’s ability to understand that what they are doing is retaliation against sexual harassment allegations.

“They are trying to shift the narrative to Ms. Lively by falsely claiming that she seized creative control and alienated the cast from Mr. Baldoni. The evidence will show that the cast and others had their own negative experiences with Mr. Baldoni and Wayfarer. The evidence will also show that Sony asked Ms. Lively to oversee Sony’s cut of the film, which they then selected for distribution and was a resounding success.

“Their response to sexual harassment allegations: she wanted it, it’s her fault. Their justification for why this happened to her: look what she was wearing. In short, while the victim focuses on the abuse, the abuser focuses on the victim. The strategy of attacking the woman is desperate, it does not refute the evidence in Ms. Lively’s complaint, and it will fail.”

In December, a source close to Lively told People that she was prepared for what, even then, clearly had what the outlet described as "the potential to be an ugly legal battle"—and she has no intentions of backing down, no matter how ugly that battle gets.

"She still believes she's doing the right thing," the source said of Lively's attitude about the situation. "She's ready to tackle whatever comes her way."

While Nikki Glaser came out hilariously swinging at her first Golden Globes hosting gig, dropping zingers left and right at Hollywood's finest (she even made our beloved Timothée Chalamet laugh), there was one decidedly controversial topic she deliberately kept off her roasting menu on Sunday, Jan. 5.

The elephant in the room at the 82nd annual Golden Globes Awards? The ongoing drama surrounding It Ends With Us stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni (and their respective lawsuits). Glaser—who is the first woman to ever host the awards solo—cracked plenty of jokes about Ozempic, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo's "holding space" moment and the pronunciation of Chalamet's name. But she steered clear of Lively and Baldoni, explaining why in a pre-show interview.

When Yahoo Entertainment caught up with Glaser before the Globes, she served up some refreshingly candid talk about why she skipped the controversy. "I think the Blake Lively-Justin Baldoni thing is such a hot-button thing right now that even a mere mention of it will seem like I could be on the wrong side of things, even though I would never be," she said.

"I also don't want to give his name any—I'm mad I even know his name, to be honest with you, so I don't need to say it anymore," she added.

Elaborating on her monologue philosophy, the comedian said, "People at home feel disconnected from celebrities. Although that's a thing we like about them that we put them on these pedestals, we're really looking for some humanity from them. And I would really encourage celebrities to just laugh at jokes about you."

As for Lively and Baldoni—who both skipped the Globes this year—the Gossip Girl alum recently dropped a bombshell legal complaint against her It Ends With Us co-star/director Baldoni, accusing him of sexual harassment during filming. Meanwhile, the Jane the Virgin star filed a $250 million lawsuit against the New York Times for printing what he's calling "false" allegations by Lively.

The latest development? Fans think Lively's husband, Ryan Reynolds, was secretly trolling Baldoni with one of the characters in 2024's Deadpool & Wolverine.

Instead of wading into the Lively/Baldoni situation, Glaser smartly stuck to safer topics, like ballroom salmon, the Pope and ... Mario Lopez?

Even though most of the world has only recently become fully aware of the issues between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni that began on the set of their movie, It Ends With Us, those close to them would obviously have known about the tensions as they were happening.

One of those people, obviously, would have been Lively's husband, Ryan Reynolds, who was working on Deadpool & Wolverine during roughly the same time period that Lively was filming It Ends With Us with Baldoni, who co-starred in and directed the drama. Reynolds hasn't commented directly on the lawsuit, but did hint at the toll the issues between Baldoni and Lively took on him while he was working on the latest Deadpool film.

Now, some fans are convinced that Deadpool & Wolverine actually includes a moment trolling Baldoni in a reference that went right over viewers' heads when the movie premiered in theaters in July 2024, but that seems clear now as Lively's allegations about her experiences working on the film have come to light.

In the scene in question, Deadpool and Wolverine (played by Reynolds and co-star Hugh Jackman), encounter a Deadpool variant known as "Nicepool" (also played by Reynolds), who wears his hair in a man bun (a style that E! Online notes Baldoni famously wore his hair in for years until 2023).

Beyond the potential visual reference to Baldoni, Nicepool, offers some questionable commentary about a female variant called Ladypool (who Lively actually played in a cameo in the movie), saying, "Oh my goodness, wait til you’ve seen Ladypool. She is gorgeous. She just had a baby too and [you] can’t even tell."

When Deadpool reacts to the commentary on Ladypool's post-baby body by telling him, "I don’t think you’re supposed to say that," Nicepool puts a hand on his own chest and assures Deadpool, "That’s OK. I identify as a feminist."

The dialogue seems pointed in light of allegations in Lively's complaint, in which she describes an incident that she says occurred four months after she gave birth to her fourth child, when Baldoni asked a trainer on the film's set how much she weighed. She went on to say in legal filings, according to People, that she was "humiliated to learn" that he had "secretly called her fitness trainer, without her knowledge or permission, and implied that he wanted her to lose weight in two weeks. Mr. Baldoni told the trainer that he had asked because he was concerned about having to pick Ms. Lively up in a scene for the movie, but there was no such scene."

Following Lively's lawsuit, the scene took on new significance for many fans, who went online to share their theories about the Nicepool/Baldoni link.

This isn't the first time Reynolds has been pulled into coverage of the legal battle between Lively and Baldoni. In response to Lively's complaint, Baldoni filed a $250 million lawsuit against The New York Times for its reporting on what he says are Lively's "false" allegations, and his legal filings included claims that Reynolds "aggressively berated" him over the incident in which he asked about Lively's weight.

While Reynolds has yet to issue any formal comment on the legal battle, a source close to the couple said he's been a pillar of support for his wife behind-the-scenes.

"Ryan is always her rock," the source told People two days after news of Lively's lawsuit against Baldoni broke. "They have such a special relationship. He's very proud of her in so many ways."

Amid the fallout of the sexual harassment complaint filed against him by Blake Lively over incidents tied to their time filming It Ends With Us, Justin Baldoni has responded with a lawsuit of his own.

On December 31, the actor, who co-starred in and directed It Ends With Us, filed a $250 million lawsuit against The New York Times for its reporting on what he says are Lively's "false" allegations—and his legal filings for the lawsuit include new allegations against Lively's husband, Ryan Reynolds.

In court documents, Baldoni describes a confrontation with Reynolds in which he says the Deadpool star was "aggressive" while defending Lively.

"Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds, had aggressively berated Baldoni during a meeting at their penthouse in New York, accusing him of 'fat shaming' Lively," the lawsuit reads (per E! Online). "Baldoni, in an effort to avoid further confrontation with Lively and Reynolds and rebuild rapport with his co-star, continued to bend to her will."

While Baldoni admits he did ask a trainer "how much Lively weighed," the actor insists that he didn't intend the question as "fat-shaming" and that he had asked because of concern about his own "back issues" ahead of a scene in which his character was going to lift hers.

Baldoni's lawyers said that the trainer "relayed this information to Lively, who then informed Reynolds," which led to the "confrontation, according to People, which also reported that the actor's legal team described the incident as an "inappropriate and humiliating berating of Baldoni — delivered, perhaps intentionally, as other celebrity friends were coming in and out of their penthouse."

Lively described the incident (which she noted occurred four months after she gave birth to her fourth child), differently in her complaint, which stated that she "humiliated to learn" that Baldoni "secretly called her fitness trainer, without her knowledge or permission, and implied that he wanted her to lose weight in two weeks. Mr. Baldoni told the trainer that he had asked because he was concerned about having to pick Ms. Lively up in a scene for the movie, but there was no such scene."

For its part, the New York Times is standing behind its reporting on the piece and plans to "vigorously" defend against Baldoni's lawsuit.

"Our story was meticulously and responsibly reported," a spokesperson for the Times said in a statement to People. "It was based on a review of thousands of pages of original documents, including the text messages and emails that we quote accurately and at length in the article."

It's hard to even imagine the amount of stress Blake Lively must be dealing with amid her lawsuit against It Ends With Us director and co-star Justin Baldoni. It's even harder to imagine how she's managing the incredible headspace a source says she's been maintaining in spite of the ongoing drama.

Just days after the actress filed suit again Baldoni detailing the sexual harassment she says she experienced on the film's set and his alleged campaign to publicly "destroy" her reputation and undermine her credibility, a source told People Lively hasn't been letting the legal battle dominate her private life.

"She enjoyed the holidays and very much tries to live in the moment right now," the insider revealed.

Still, Lively isn't in denial about what lies ahead as her complaint moves forward and the source says that, even as she's been spending time with loved ones over the holidays, the actress has stayed "in contact with her team" and "knows she'll have an explosive start to the new year."

Lively is prepared for the long battle ahead of her. As People notes, her initial December 20 complaint with the California Civil Rights Department is a prerequisite to bringing a workplace harassment lawsuit in California—and could be the first step for what the outlet's report says "has the potential to be an ugly legal battle."

The insider says Lively is prepared for whatever ugliness pursuing the suit might bring though.

"She still believes she's doing the right thing," the source added. "She's ready to tackle whatever comes her way."

Since news of Lively's lawsuit broke, several of her friends, former co-stars, and others in the industry who say they've endured similar treatment over the years have spoken out in support of the actress.

And, at home, she has the constant support of her husband, Ryan Reynolds, another source recently told People.

"Ryan is always her rock," the source explained just two days after news of the lawsuit broke. "They have such a special relationship. He's very proud of her in so many ways."

Kate Beckinsale is speaking out. The actress has—like all of us—been following the news and discourse surrounding the Blake Lively/Justin Baldoni allegations, and is speaking out in support of the actress's claims. Because she knows first hand just how "the machine" (as she puts it) works in Hollywood. And she's tired of staying quiet about it.

For which we can only thank and commend her—because the experiences she details in the Instagram video posted below are truly harrowing and should not be endured by anyone who's simply trying to do their job at work.

From being physically harmed by a male co-star while filming a fight scene, a publicist forcing her to do a photo shoot while miscarrying, and being "felt up" by a crew member when she was barely 18, these are just a smattering of things the actress—and no doubt countless others—have suffered through. All because of the perception that everyone in Hollywood should be so grateful, and feel so lucky to be there (to say nothing of the millions of dollars it costs to make things), that bad behaviors should be ignored.

And they clearly, very often, are.

In the video, which runs over four minutes long, Beckinsale recounts several inappropriate—and downright illegal—experiences she's had while filming. Like the time she was physically harmed during a fight sequence and "ostracized" for speaking out about it.

"Sometimes there's a certain kind of actor who gets kind of a thrill out of legally being able to harm a woman during a fight sequence," Beckinsale explained. "And I was harmed, to the point where there were MRIs proving it. And actually what happened was I was gaslit and made to feel like I was the problem, blamed and ostracized, and left out of cast dinners, not spoken to, as soon as I mentioned there was a problem."

When it comes to how and why this relates to Lively's experience, Beckinsale explained that while she's, "never met either of them and I wasn't on the set, so I can't speak to any of that," she went on to add that the complaint "has highlighted ... this machine that goes into effect when a woman complains about something legitimately offensive, upsetting, harmful—or whatever—in this industry."

Her words speak not only that, but to the fact that if this machine exists in Hollywood and can successfully silence beloved celebrities with power, imagine what's happening to women in industries and positions where they do not have the same level of power and support.

For years, she and other actresses have essentially been told that you aren't supposed to talk about these things, you're supposed to "absorb it and somehow you're the homie. That has got to stop. That has to stop."

Beckinsale went on to add that she is "grateful to Blake Lively for highlighting this is not an archaic problem no one is facing. This is continuing. And then when it does happen, a machine goes in place to absolutely destroy you."

Former Summer House star turned comedian Hannah Berner is clarifying the timeline on her Blake Lively joke that appeared in Netflix's Torching 2024: A Roast of the Year.

In the comedy special that filmed earlier this year, Berner made a joke about how "the word 'c--t' was trending this year," she said, before quickly getting to the punchline: "I don't think Blake Lively was that bad."

The timing of the joke is more what's coming under fire, given that the special—which started streaming on Friday—is coming out in the days since Lively filed a lawsuit against her It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni.

In a post to her Instagram Stories later Friday evening, Berner posted an image of herself from the special and a caveat, "My joke in the Netflix roast was filmed before news of the [complaint]. To be 100 percent clear, I support Blake xoxo," she wrote.

The statement comes in the wake of a wave of support from Lively's friends, family, and collaborators—including her sister Robyn Lively, her A Simple Favor director Paul Feig and her sequel co-star Michele Morrone, Jenny Slate, Colleen Hoover, Amber Heard (whose ex-husband Johnny Depp used the same crisis management PR agency as Baldoni during their much-publicized trial), and her Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants co-stars America Ferrera, Alexis Bledel, and Amber Tamblyn.

In the wake of the complaint, Baldoni has been dropped from his representatives at WME, sued by his former publicist, and had an award he won earlier this year for being an ally to women rescinded. His Man Enough podcast co-host Liz Plank also walked away from the show. A new report from Deadline claims that Baldoni is planning a counter-suit against Lively once the new year begins.

Even though he hasn't made any official comments on Blake Lively's It Ends With Us lawsuit, Ryan Reynolds may still have found a subtle way to share a clue about how he's feeling amid the drama.

On Monday, December 23, Reynolds shared his first post to social media since news of Lively's sexual harassment lawsuit against It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni broke—a call to fans encouraging them to donate to the SickKids Foundation.

Although the post itself didn't have anything to do with his wife's legal issues, some who read it felt like it still offered insight into the actor's mood amid the legal action, thanks to a subtle line in which the actor references "a time I really didn’t feel like putting the [Deadpool] suit on."

“It’s almost Christmas Eve. Last day to donate to [SickKids Foundation],” Reynolds wrote in the post, which also included a promotional video the actor originally posted on December 12 encouraging donations to the organization that he made with his eight-year-old daughter, Inez, featuring the pair dressed as Deadpool and Kidpool (per People).

“Thank you [Bryan Rowland] for directing this amazing little piece during a time I really didn’t feel like putting the suit on,” he continued in the Instagram Story post. "Thank you [Lynda Carter] for your time, grace and talent. Thank you to my daughter for being such a good person despite your dad asking you to swear (for a good cause).”

Reynolds, who shares four children with Lively (in addition to the actor's "Kidpool" co-star Inez, the couple also shares two other daughters, James, 10 and Betty, 5, and one son Olin, 1), may being keeping any public references to the lawsuit cryptic, but sources say he's been nothing but directly and emphatically supportive of his wife behind-the-scenes as she's dealt with these issues, from what she describes in legal documents as "a hostile work environment" with Baldoni to the current stress that would naturally come with the lawsuit itself.

"Ryan is always her rock," a source close to the could told People just two days after news of Lively's lawsuit against Baldoni broke. "They have such a special relationship. He's very proud of her in so many ways."

And, FWIW, the lack of public comment from Reynolds about the lawsuit seems to be in-line with how Lively wants to handle the case for now. Going into the holidays, the People source said Lively's goal was "to just focus on making Christmas special for her children" and that "for now, she's said what needed to be said."

Liz Plank, one of Justin Baldoni's "Man Enough" Podcast hosts, is leaving the show.

In a statement posted to her Instagram, journalist and author Plank shared that she is leaving the popular podcast in light of the recent allegations against the actor/director, leveled by his It Ends With Us co-star Blake Lively:

The news comes on the heels of Blake Lively filing a complaint against Wayfarer Studios, run by Man Enough co-hosts Baldoni and Jamey Heath (president of the studio), who was also accused of misconduct by Lively. The podcast is a weekly discussion of "modern masculinity" and dismantling the toxicity society places upon the idea of what it means to be a man.

Plank is a popular Canadian journalist and author in her own right, having penned the popular book For the Love of Men: A New Vision for Mindful Masculinity, published in October 2019. She has also hosted and produced several shows for Vox Media and MSNBC.

She joins an ever-growing list of people rallying around Lively in the wake of her allegations, including Jenny Slate and her Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants co-stars.

Brandon Sklenar is adding his name to the list of celebrities supporting Blake Lively.

Following the news that Lively is suing It Ends With Us director Justin Baldoni for sexual harassment, Sklenar posted a link to the full complaint on his Instagram Story, writing, "For the love of God read this" and tagging Lively with a heart emoji. The actor starred in It Ends With Us alongside Lively and Baldoni.

Sklenar also posted in support of Lively in August, when negative reports about the star were circling online around the movie's release. "Vilifying the women who put so much of their heart and soul into making this film because they believe so strongly in its message seems counterproductive and detracts from what this film is about," he wrote at the time.

Additionally, Jenny Slate, who also starred in the film, shared a statement of support for Lively on Monday, calling the Gossip Girl star "a leader, loyal friend, and a trusted source of emotional support." And Colleen Hoover, author of the It Ends With Us novel, took to Instagram to call Lively "kind" and "honest."

As news of the lawsuit spreads, Baldoni's lawyer Bryan Freedman has denied the claims, calling them "false, outrageous, and intentionally salacious with an intent to publicly hurt." Baldoni has also been dropped by his talent agency and had his Man Enough podcast co-host resign.

Blake Lively's It Ends With Us costars have her back. Jenny Slate, who played Lively's business partner and sister-in-law in the August film, is showing support for her "loyal friend" and costar.

"As Blake Lively's castmate and friend, I voice my support as she takes action against those reported to have planned and carried out an attack on her reputation," Slate said in a statement provided to Today on Monday. "Blake is a leader, loyal friend, and a trusted source of emotional support for me and so many who know and love her."

Slate's statement comes amid the news of Lively's lawsuit against It Ends With Us director Justin Baldoni. Lively has accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and of causing her "severe emotional distress" on the set of It Ends With Us. Baldoni has also been accused of hiring experts to launch a "smear campaign" to discredit the Gossip Girl star.

"What has been revealed about the attack on Blake is terribly dark, disturbing, and wholly threatening," Slate's statement continued. "I commend my friend, I admire her bravery, and I stand by her side."

Baldoni's lawyer Bryan Freedman, meanwhile, told TMZ the claims are "false, outrageous, and intentionally salacious with an intent to publicly hurt."

Slate isn't the only one of Lively and Baldoni's coworkers defending Lively's character. Brandon Sklenar, who played Lively's ex-boyfriend in the film, posted an Instagram Story on Monday encouraging his followers to read Lively's full legal complaint against Baldoni on The New York Times' website. Sklenar also tagged Lively's Instagram handle with a heart emoji. Colleen Hoover, who wrote the novel that inspired the movie, also praised Lively for being "honest" and "kind" in an Instagram Story post.

Amid the fallout of the lawsuit, Baldoni's talent agency, WME, has dropped him. His Man Enough podcast co-host, Liz Plank, has also resigned.

Director Paul Feig and Italian actor/musician Michele Morrone are speaking out in support of their A Simple Plan 2 co-star, Blake Lively. The actress has received a bevy of support from co-stars, family, and friends alike in the wake of the sexual harassment and smear campaign complaint she filed against her It Ends With Us director and co-star Justin Baldoni.

The Bridesmaids director—who also worked with Lively on the 2018 film A Simple Favor as well as its forthcoming sequel—posted a statement on X on Sunday, joining a long list of folks who have come to her defense, including novelist Colleen Hoover, her sister Robyn Lively, co-stars Brandon Sklenar and Jenny Slate, as well as her longtime friends and Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants co-stars America Ferrera, Amber Tamblyn, and Alexis Bledel.

"I've now made two movies with Blake and all I can say is she’s one of the most professional, creative, collaborative, talented and kind people I've ever worked with," Feig shared. "She truly did not deserve any of this smear campaign against her. I think it's awful she was put through this."

In an Instagram Story posted on Monday, Morrone said that, "it is usually not my thing to make those kind of videos, but I think it’s time to stand up for a person that I really love, and this person is Blake Lively."

"I personally met Blake during A Simple Favor 2, we shot this incredible film together and I felt something was wrong. And I felt the pain. We had the opportunity to talk about [it] me and her. Blake was in pain. And I'm really tired to see those cruel and bad comments about her without knowing the situation. So that's why I want to link right here an article [from] The New York Times, just to make you understand, before commenting, what happened. That's all I ask, and that's all I want you to do. Alright?

He ended his story with a comment directed at Lively herself, saying, "Blake, I love you so much. Keep it up, and we’re going to see each other very, very soon."

It goes without saying (but we'll say it anyway), no one deserves to be mistreated or sexually harassed while at work. We commend anyone who stands up against this sort of behavior and the vilification of women who speak out against it.

While many celebrities have spoken out in support of Blake Lively since she filed her sexual harassment lawsuit against It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni, the real pillar of her support system has been her husband, Ryan Reynolds, according to a source close to the pair.

"Ryan is always her rock," the source told People two days after news of Lively's lawsuit against Baldoni, who also directed It Ends With Us, broke. "They have such a special relationship. He's very proud of her in so many ways."

Now that she's filed the lawsuit and gone public with the scope of her negative experiences working on the film, which her complaint says had a "hostile work environment that had nearly derailed production," the actress is taking some much-needed time to focus on her family—including her daughters James, 10, Inez, 8, and Betty, 5, and son Olin, 1—for the holidays.

"She's trying to just focus on making Christmas special for her children," the People source said of Lively, adding that she's unlikely to publicly speak about the harassment again for the time being. "For now, she's said what needed to be said."

Lively may not have anything else to add at the moment, but in the wake of the lawsuit, several other celebrities have spoken out in support of the actress, including her Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants co-stars, her sister, Robyn Lively, and actress Amber Heard.

"As Blake's friends and sisters for over twenty years, we stand with her in solidarity as she fights back against the reported campaign waged to destroy her reputation," Lively's Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants co-stars, Amber Tamblyn, Amercia Fererra, and Alexis Bledel, said in a joint statement released on Instagram. "Throughout the filming of It Ends with Us, we saw her summon the courage to ask for a safe workplace for herself and colleagues on set, and we are appalled to read the evidence of a premeditated and vindictive effort that ensued to discredit her voice. Most upsetting is the unabashed exploitation of domestic violence survivors' stories to silence a woman who asked for safety. The hypocrisy is astounding."

Heard, whose ex-husband Johnny Depp reportedly hired the same PR crisis manager as Baldoni during Heard and Depp's public legal battle, issued her own statement of support for Lively to NBC News, saying, "Social media is the absolute personification of the classic saying 'A lie travels halfway around the world before truth can get its boots on.' I saw this firsthand and up close. It’s as horrifying as it is destructive."

As for Lively herself, the actress issued her own statement about the lawsuit to the The New York Times, which reported on situation and Baldoni's crisis management team.

"I hope that my legal action helps pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak up about misconduct and helps protect others who may be targeted," she said.

They've also revived definable archival pieces from the early aughts—like the Louis Vuitton Speedy or the Balenciaga City Bag. And in a post-girlboss, post-cancel-culture internet, they can tune out the "Eat the Rich" criticism online to the sound of their Birkins' charms singing their own little tune.

So trust that the next time you spot Hailey Bieber in $90 Adidas or Selena Gomez in her Birkenstock sandals, their recognizable friends Louis, Fendi, and Prada will probably be nearby. Because they’re not just like us—and they can afford to make that perfectly clear.

Amber Heard is the latest star speaking out in support of Blake Lively in the wake of her lawsuit against It Ends With Us director and co-star Justin Baldoni.

The actress released the following statement to NBC News:

Heard knows exactly what she's talking about, too. Lively's legal complaint alleges that Baldoni retained the public relations crisis manager Melissa Nathan for services during the film's publicity tour. Nathan, as it turns out, is the same woman that actor Johnny Depp hired during his extremely high-profile defamation trial against his former wife, Heard.

During the trial, a jury found that Heard had defamed Depp, and he was awarded $5 million in punitive damages and $10 million in compensatory damages. Heard was also awarded $2 million in compensatory damages in her counterclaim against him.

Folks will no doubt remember the unending coverage and social media discourse surrounding the Depp/Heard case. At its conclusion, Heard released a statement via her own Instagram, which stated that, "the vilification I have faced on social media is an amplified version of the ways in which women are re-victimized when they come forward."

This time, it seems, social media and the world at large has a better understanding of just how easy it is to manipulate the discourse surrounding these sort of events—particularly when it comes to engineering negative press around the women involved. Society has, notoriously, been unkind to women who speak up for themselves. Particularly if they cannot be viewed as a "perfect victim."

As former Bachelor star Nick Viall said on his podcast back in August, "This PR team eviscerated Amber Heard online. It was, like, an all-out assault on her character." He added that people were not asking the right questions, with social media focusing on whether or not these women "deserved" the blowback given their alleged reputations, rather than asking themselves things like why "the entire cast has unfollowed Justin Baldoni" on social media.

According to Bryan Freedman—the lawyer representing Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios and all its representatives—the allegations in Lively's complaint are "categorically false," adding that Wayfarer and Baldoni only hired a crisis communications team because Lively allegedly threatened not to show up to set during filming, or to promote the film after its release.

Freedman told NBC News—in response to Heard's statement—that "TAG PR must be the most powerful group of publicists the world has ever seen for it to be able to completely change the perception of both Amber Heard and Blake Lively." He added that the only correlation between the two cases is that, "every move they have made has been out there for everyone to see, widely filmed and documented for the public to make up their own minds—which they did, organically."

In a fitting display of their eternal bond of sisterhood, Blake Lively's Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants co-stars, America Ferrera, Alexis Bledel and Amber Tamblyn are supporting her amid her sexual harassment allegations against Justin Baldoni.

The actresses released a joint statement on Instagram declaring their support for Lively, who recently filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against her It Ends With Us, who she claims Baldoni engaged in misconduct during the film's production and then made concerted efforts to undermine her credibility when she publicly spoke of the issues.

In their statement, Ferrera, Tamblyn, and Bledel wrote:

"As Blake's friends and sisters for over twenty years, we stand with her in solidarity as she fights back against the reported campaign waged to destroy her reputation. Throughout the filming of It Ends with Us, we saw her summon the courage to ask for a safe workplace for herself and colleagues on set, and we are appalled to read the evidence of a premeditated and vindictive effort that ensued to discredit her voice. Most upsetting is the unabashed exploitation of domestic violence survivors' stories to silence a woman who asked for safety. The hypocrisy is astounding.

"We are struck by the reality that even if a woman is as strong, celebrated, and resourced as our friend Blake, she can face forceful retaliation for daring to ask for a safe working environment. We are inspired by our sister's courage to stand up for herself and others.

"For anyone seeking more information or engaging in this important conversation online, please read the full legal complaint in the investigative reporting by Megan Twohey, Mike McIntire, and Julie Tate for the New York Times."

In a separate post on her Instagram Story, Tamblyn re-shared the group's joint statement and added that she was a "confidant" for Lively while she went through some of the experiences detailed in the lawsuit, adding "I remember how incredibly painful it was for her."

"I'm glad all of this has come to light with solid reporting and receipts. I ask you to please read the full article and specifically, the legal complaint at the link," Tamblyn added, along with a link to the New York Times report, imploring her followers to learn more about the case.

Amid the wave of Blake Lively backlash surrounding the It Ends with Us movie release in August, Bachelor Nation alum Nick Viall was asking tough questions.

In a newly resurfaced clip from his podcast, The Viall Files, Viall questioned why director Justin Baldoni hired a crisis PR manager, Melissa Nathan, in August. Viall noted that Nathan had previously represented Johnny Depp as he underwent legal battles with Amber Heard. "This PR team eviscerated Amber Heard online," Viall said on the podcast. The podcaster's months-old comments have new relevance as news of Lively's lawsuit against Baldoni rocks the entertainment world. Lively has accused her costar of sexual harassment and creating a "hostile work environment," per TMZ.

For his part, Baldoni's lawyer Bryan Freedman has issued a statement to TMZ and other outlets, calling Lively's allegations "false, outrageous, and intentionally salacious with an intent to publicly hurt."

It seems the two are standing strong despite the rumored feud between Lively and her It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni, and the backlash around Lively's approach to the press tour more broadly. It just goes to show that in hard times, joy can always be found in the simple act of getting dressed.

The star of Blake Lively's It Ends With Us press tour was her self-styled, maximalist wardrobe. Over the last few months, Lively was photographed in a parade of floral 'fits, from glittering, rose-covered red carpet gowns to jeans with flower-shaped cut-outs and leather suit sets painted with doodles of daisies. But now, as the weather changes and the interviews slow, Lively is going back to her signature street style with help from the double denim trend.

On Sept. 5, the actress was photographed on a walk around New York City with husband Ryan Reynolds, wearing one of her classic off-duty outfit recipes: denim and a trendy sneaker. She wore a pair of loose, low-rise patchwork blue jeans with off-white Nike Air Force 1s and a relaxed dusty blue denim blazer. She also pulled on a white knit sweater dotted with poppies, a floral crossbody phone holder "purse," and rounded John Lennon-inspired Garrett Leight sunglasses. The laidback look still pays subtle homage to It Ends With Us, the flower-patterned top and phone accessory referencing Lively's character Lily Bloom's flower shop, plus the patches on her jeans (Bloom wears a few patchwork items in the film).

Lively may have prioritized slim-fitting garments and more feminine silhouettes while promoting her movie over the summer, but this fall is all about baggy basics and Canadian tuxedos. Stars have been embracing roomy pant legs and doubling up on denim all year, but Lively is turning the trends into staples for the season.
