Blue Ivy isn't just Beyoncé's daughter. As well as winning her first Grammy at just 9 years old, Blue is a professional performer and currently dancing in her mom's Cowboy Carter Tour. Luckily, Blue's tenacity means she was fully prepared to deftly correct a mishap involving Beyoncé's hair onstage.

During a performance at Soldier Field in Chicago on Thursday, May 15, Blue Ivy, 13, encountered an issue while dancing behind her mom. As Beyoncé sang "Protector" seated with 7-year-old daughter Rumi, Blue could be seen sitting behind the pair and taking part in choreography with the other dancers. In a video clip shared by a fan on social media (via Billboard), Blue was seen reacting quickly after discovering her earring had gotten tangled in her mom's hair.

After unsuccessfully attempting to extricate herself from Beyoncé's hair, Blue decided to remove the earring altogether, enabling her to continue performing the dance routine.

Blue's fans were excited to see the performer spring into action during a stressful Cowboy Carter Tour moment. Referencing Blue's nickname as the "manager," one fan wrote on X, "BLUE MADE SURE NO EARRING IS GOING TO TANGLE ON HER CLIENT'S HAIR TONIGHT." Another commenter joked, "Anyone else would've ripped their mom's hair out, but blue ivy is special cuz she took that earring out instead!!!!" An additional fan's comment said of the moment, "Blue Ivy's quick thinking and professionalism during the earring mishap on stage truly showcase her growing skills and composure, making it a standout moment of the Cowboy Carter Tour."

A plethora of celebrities, including Kaia Gerber and Meghan Markle, have already attended the Cowboy Carter Tour, and more are sure to follow suit in the coming weeks. It's safe to assume Blue Ivy will be on hand to ensure no more mishaps occur during her mom's remaining tour dates.

At 13 years old, Blue Ivy Carter is already a multi-hyphenate. She's a singer. She's a voice actor. She's a dancer. She's... Beyoncé's manager? Well, that last one is how some Beyoncé fans view Blue Ivy. Clearly she's the one who really runs the show.

As reported by People, during a recent Cowboy Carter Tour show in Los Angeles, Blue acknowledged her "manager" nickname by pointing to a fan's sign. Eden, who runs the Instagram fan account @cozycarters, attended the show with a poster reading, "We love u manager Blue." Eden was pretty close to the stage, and at one point, Blue gave the sign her approval.

A video Eden shared on the account shows Blue dancing with the other backup dancers as Beyoncé sings "Texas Hold 'Em". As the performers start to move to another part of the stage, Blue points to the poster and gives a thumbs up twice.

"blue acknowledging my sign and her manager position!" Eden wrote in the caption. As reported by People, Beyoncé's mother, Tina Knowles, "liked" the post.

Blue has been referred to as her mother and grandmother's manager in the past. In April, Tina posted a video of herself getting her eyebrows dyed by Blue. She says in the clip, "My beauty guru and my manager, Miss Blue Ivy Carter has instructed me that I need to dye my eyebrows, because they have little gray streaks in them."

Blue has also been called the manager by fans. For instance, earlier this year, a clip of Blue reacting to Beyoncé winning the Grammy for Best Country Album went viral with people pointing out that Blue looked like the one in charge in the situation. While Beyoncé paused for a moment in her seat, shocked at the win, Blue gestured for her to get up to accept the award.

On a TikTok video about the moment, user @gigi_19896 called Blue the "manager, creative director, and PR" in a comment.

"Beyoncé really birthed her own manager," user @runreiyuji wrote.

The user @itsnotchidera commented, "Blue Ivy Management Ltd. runs a tight ship yall."

Currently, Blue splitting her manager duties with being a major part of the Cowboy Carter Tour. She is one of the backup dancers for her mom, and has also gotten even more in the spotlight with a solo dance to the 2006 song "Déjà Vu".

On Dec. 9, Beyoncé attended the premiere of ‘Mufasa,’ alongside a special guest—her daughter Blue Ivy Carter. The duo stars in the film as mother and daughter, so it likely comes as no surprise that they wore coordinated looks for the premiere. Beyoncé chose a strapless Balmain dress with a deep neckline and bustier cups, while Blue Ivy wore a form-fitting gold gown that was custom-designed by Christian Siriano. Some social media users praised the teen’s look, mentioning that she looked like a "princess" and a "spitting image of her mother."

That being said, over on X, formerly known as Twitter, some people are debating whether Blue Ivy wearing makeup was appropriate for someone her age. “Blue Ivy wearing that dress and makeup at age 12 . . . Do her stylist or her mom’s stylist know this?” one person wrote. “God forgive me but Blue Ivy is too young for this makeup and outfit,” said another. The makeup look in question? A soft smoky eye, a hint of blush, half lashes, and a glossy-tinted lip color, courtesy of makeup artist Rokael Lizama.

Never mind the fact that Carter is a child star in her own right (with parents like Beyoncé and Jay Z, this journey was written in the stars) and is therefore expected to look her best for her work events. She has also been showing interest in makeup for quite some time. At one point, she even did her grandmother’s makeup. The fact that people can look at this child and insist that the objectively dialed-down makeup that she was wearing is “inappropriate” for her age, completely baffles me. It’s not uncommon for little Black girls to hear that they’re “fast” or in too much of a hurry to grow up, when, like any other teenager, they want to experiment with their appearance.

It is a well-documented phenomenon that people tend to view Black children as much older than they are, even though they look and act just like their peers. In a report from the Georgetown Law Center on Poverty and Inequality titled “Girlhood Interrupted: The Erasure of Black Girls’s Childhood,” subjects admitted to seeing Black girls as in less need of protection, nurturing, and support, and they even claimed that they know more about sex and adult topics.

While Blue Ivy Carter is subject to a certain level of protection as the child of two of the biggest stars in the world, this pervasive stereotype affects young Black children who aren’t as lucky. Children who want to experiment with their beauty aesthetic deserve the space to do so without critique and without adults telling them at every point how horrible it is to do so. It’s high time that we all stop criticizing this young girl for the way that she looks and start being a safe place for her to figure out who she is in peace.

Tina Knowles is a proud grandma.

On Sunday, Tina's eldest granddaughter, Blue Ivy Carter, had cause for celebration after she won big at the BET Awards. The 12-year-old daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z went home with the YoungStars Award, which goes to outstanding young entertainers.

"Congratulations my Blue Blue!" Tina wrote on Instagram.

"I marvel at your talent your beauty your intelligence but I am most proud of your kindness and down to earth attitude . Never attention seeking , just cool and chill as a cucumberr all the time."

Tina went on to praise Blue for her many talents, including sports, piano, painting and dancing, and said she had a "voice like an angel."

She concluded her sweet message, "Congratulations BIC you deserve everything you work hard to get. Thank you BET #betawards for this honor."

Blue Ivy was nominated in the category alongside Bel-Air's Akira Akbar, The Deliverance's Demi Singleton, performer Heiress Diana Harris, Abbott Elementary's Jabria Mccullum, The Crossover's Jalyn Hall, Percy Jackson's Leah Jeffries, and rapper VanVan.

The little girl's mom Beyoncé also won on the night, taking home the Viewer's Choice Award for "Texas Hold 'Em."

At just 12 years old, Blue is already a multi-award-winning artist. At this year's BETs, she was ostensibly nominated for her appearance in the upcoming movie Mufasa: The Lion King, in which she voices Kiara.

Speaking about Bey and Blue's dynamic on the movie set, director Barry Jenkins previously said, "Beyoncé is this larger-than-life figure, but when she's working with her daughter, when she's in the room with her daughter, she's a mom first. So much of that energy bled into the film."

Blue already has a BET, which she won alongside her mom, Saint Jhn and WizKid in 2020 for their song "Brown Skin Girl." She also holds a VMA and a Grammy for the song's music video.

As for Tina, she's also grandma to Solange Knowles' son Daniel Julez J. Smith Jr., 19, and Beyoncé's twins Rumi and Sir Carter, 7.

Beyoncé's eldest daughter Blue Ivy Carter, 12, has joined her mom as a voice actor on upcoming live-action movie Mufasa: The Lion King.

Beyoncé already voiced Nala in 2019's The Lion King, and returns as the lioness, with Blue Ivy playing her on-screen lion cub Kiara.

This marks the pre-teen's movie debut, though she's already appeared on screen in a handful of Beyoncé's music videos, plus the visual album movie Black Is King.

Mufasa director Barry Jenkins spoke to Good Morning America about working with the mother-daughter duo, and it sounds like it was an amazing experience for him.

"Beyoncé is this larger-than-life figure, but when she's working with her daughter, when she's in the room with her daughter, she's a mom first," the filmmaker explained. "So much of that energy bled into the film."

It's not hard to see why it made sense for Bey and Blue to voice-act together in the movie.

"I think for them, too, they just approached it that they both wanted to perform and do the best they could," Jenkins said. "And yet, they didn't have to pretend very much because they really are mother and daughter."

He continued, "I was so glad that both Beyoncé and Blue Ivy were down to do it, and watching them work together was just really special."

The Moonlight director also explained that the 12-year-old is a consummate "professional," and that he realized she would be the perfect Kiara when he heard her narrate the audiobook Hair Love, a New York Times-bestselling children's book.

Mufasa will be released in theaters Dec. 20.

Blue Ivy Carter may have made a late entrance to the 2024 Grammys, but she should be sitting firmly on all our best dressed lists. The 12-year-old accompanied her parents Beyoncé and Jay-Z to tonight's ceremony, where she joined the rapper onstage as he accepted the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award. While her father gave a brutally honest acceptance speech, Blue looked like the epitome of grace—and showed off her striking resemblance to her mom—in a luminescent white ballgown.

The structured strapless piece featured an off-the-shoulder neckline, a cinched waist, and a full skirt that ended just below the knees, with extra fabric draped at the waist for a peplum effect. She added a pair of matching platform ankle boots from Larroude and held a pure white clutch. Her hair was styled in waist-length goddess braids with curly ends, and she completed her glowy makeup look with a glossy pink lip.

As he began his acceptance speech, Jay-Z jokingly referred to the trophy as a “sippy cup” for Blue. "I used to say it was a sippy cup for Blue, but Blue's grown now, she doesn't take sippy cups—and she has her own Grammys.”

In case you missed it, Blue became the second-youngest Grammy winner ever back in 2021. Then, she was just nine years old and sharing the honor with her mother for Best Music Video award for“Brown Skin Girl."

While Blue has often joined her parents at awards shows since she was little, recently she has stepped further into the spotlight. She joined her mother on most of the performances during the Renaissance World Tour, with Blue showing off her dance skills and the mother-of-three showing her pride at her eldest's bravery. In her documentary film chronicling the tour, Beyoncé shared how Blue was only supposed to perform once, but the preteen became determined to continue after seeing negative comments about her dancing. Blue “was determined to prove any naysayers wrong and devoted herself to working even harder on her dancing," per the film.

The annual Kardashian Christmas Party is always a night to remember — if you can!

This year proved no different, and plenty of photos and videos of the spectacular night are being shared. From North West and Paris Hilton making a TikTok together to hostess Kim Kardashian riding a sled down fake snow with Hilton, it seemed to be a great party.

There were plenty of famous guests in attendance, including Kylie Jenner's boyfriend, Timothée Chalamet and Anastasia 'Stassie' Karanikolaou. But now that more footage is being released, we're realizing just how many recognizable faces were in attendance, especially some that you wouldn't expect to see there.

For example, some keen-eyed fans noticed Blue Ivy Carter in the background of a video. The 11-year-old daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z can be seen comfortably chatting to people, before turning to notice the camera. She's dressed in all black, her dark hair styled in a sleek ponytail.

There's no sign of her famous parents at the party, but fans speculated that she is there with Beyoncé's mother, Tina, who has a close friendship with Kris Jenner.

It's believed that Blue is friends with North, and that might also explain why she came to the party. If these two are that close, then the world better watch out in a few years, as they'll be quite the dynamic duo.

Blue has shown her dancing prowess in her mom's RENAISSANCE World Tour, and North is debuting her rap talents on her father's upcoming Vultures album.

But that's not the only familiar face people spotted, as in that same video, you can see Academy Award winner Leonardo DiCaprio sitting on a couch. Dressed in all black with a baseball cap, DiCaprio is chatting to another man seated beside him.

What could have brought him to the Kardashian party? DiCaprio is reportedly dating Italian model Vittoria Ceretti, so perhaps his girlfriend is friends with fellow model Kendall Jenner. Or he could've been introduced to the Kardashians through Chalamet, who he starred in Don't Look Up with.

It takes a certain level of commitment, resilience, and grit to reach success like Beyoncé and Jay-Z have, and the couple’s eldest daughter Blue Ivy Carter has very much inherited that gene from her parents.

Blue performed onstage with her mom, Beyoncé, throughout most of the icon’s Renaissance World Tour this summer, dancing to thunderous applause from concertgoers. But, as is so often the case, the trolls of the Internet pounced—but Blue wouldn’t let critics get her down, even after reading their hateful comments. (Keep in mind, if you will, that Blue is just 11 years old.) In her new concert film about the Renaissance World Tour—which premiered this weekend—proud mom Beyoncé said that Blue used negative comments only to fuel her more, and that she used the criticism as motivation; Blue “was determined to prove any naysayers wrong and devoted herself to working even harder on her dancing,” People reports. (Blue joined Beyoncé for the songs “My Power” and “Black Parade.”) 

Beyoncé also admitted in the film that the idea of her daughter joining her onstage in the first place was not something she was excited about. Originally, the idea was that Blue would make just one onstage appearance, “and even that wasn’t a plan that the singer was exactly thrilled about,” People reports. “She said in the film that performing in front of thousands was no place for an 11-year-old.” Beyoncé added that she almost passed out the first time Blue joined her onstage back in May.

Of the early conversations, Beyoncé said in the film, “She told me she was ready to perform, and I told her no,” per The New York Times. But perform she did—and the improvement that Blue showed throughout her five months on tour, as well as an evident spike in confidence, was praised by fans. In September, a TikTok compilation shows Blue’s growth as a performer even in just four months; in May “she was quite timid with the moves,” People reports, but by September, it was obvious “how confident she appeared.” 

The New York Times wrote that it “thrilled her mother that instead of quitting, she decided to put in the work and train even harder for future stops.” 

Blue’s grandmother Tina Knowles said “She is 11 years old, and she had one week to prepare, and she’s just getting better and better. So I’m the proud grandma, always. This is a heels family. You’re trained early to walk in heels.” She added of Blue “She’s having the time of her life, and I couldn’t be more proud of her, because she really worked hard.”

Dad Jay-Z is proud, too, telling Gayle King on CBS Mornings “I still get goosebumps seeing her walk onstage.” He added “She’s been born into a life she didn’t ask for. So since she was born, she’s been in scrutiny and the public eye and everyone having an opinion of even a little girl—how she keeps her hair. So for her to be on that stage and reclaim her power, and the song [she dances to] is called ‘My Power’—you can’t write a better script.”

Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé hits theaters on Friday. 

It’s hard to imagine Blue Ivy Carter as anything but, well, Blue Ivy Carter, but her dad, Jay-Z, revealed that she almost had a completely different moniker.

Speaking to Gayle King on CBS Mornings, Jay-Z said of his eldest daughter with wife Beyoncé that her name “was supposed to be Brooklyn,” he said, an homage to where he hails from. But, throughout Beyoncé’s pregnancy, “We was calling her Blueberry,” he said. “Like, ‘Look at the little blueberry.’ You know, it was like a nickname. It was just natural. We just took the berry off and called her Blue.” 

Blue Ivy made headlines for appearing in nearly every performance of Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour, and Jay-Z said that, despite some early resistance, Blue has finally realized how cool her dad is, even turning to him for style advice: “She used to be frontin’ on me a little bit,” Jay-Z said, after King asked if Blue thinks he’s cool. “But [now] I catch her. I catch her in the corner, you know? Now she asks me, you know, if this is cool, if her sneakers [are cool].” King then asked “She wants your advice?” to which Jay-Z responded “Yeah, yeah, yeah.”

Of performing onstage for the Renaissance World Tour, Jay-Z said Blue “wanted to do it,” he said. “We was like, ‘Okay, if this is something you want to do, you can’t just go out there. You’ve got to go work with the dancers and go to work.’” The proud dad said he watched with “goosebumps” as his daughter faced the crowds, despite her nerves: “Blue’s been born into this world that she didn’t ask…she’s been born into a life she didn’t ask for,” he said. “So since she was born, she’s been in, like, scrutiny and public eye, and everyone having an opinion. I know how nervous she was. I know how frightened she was. And she wanted to do it.” Jay-Z recalled that Blue wanted to perform “the first night” and said “she worked every day, and we watched her work hard. She had a little icy pack thing on her back some days.” He added “So for her to be on that stage and reclaim her power, and the song [she performed on] is called ‘My Power’—you can’t write a better script.”

Of his wife, he gushed, “For me, this was her best tour,” he said. “It’s hard to really compare them because they all have different things of genius. But this one, to me, felt like the most complete.”

In addition to Blue, Jay-Z and Beyoncé are parents to twins Rumi and Sir.

Beyonce’s epic Renaissance World Tour just wrapped less than a month ago, but there’s already thought being paid to her next tour, at least by Beyoncé’s eldest daughter, Blue Ivy, and Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles. And, if Blue Ivy has her way, all three generations of women will be onstage together for the next ‘go round, Page Six reports.

Blue Ivy, 11, wowed crowds as a dancer on the Renaissance World Tour, and “Blue tells me all the time, ‘Grandma, you should come up there…’” Knowles said. “And I’m like, ‘When am I going to find time to practice?’ Because, you know, us old folks got to practice a lot longer than them. She learned it in, like, a week.”

Blue Ivy often took to the stage during the RWT during her mom’s performance of the song “My Power” from the soundtrack of Disney’s remake of The Lion King, specifically when she sings the line about her “bloodline.” And Blue Ivy has no bigger fan than her grandmother: after one performance, Knowles posted a video and wrote alongside it “Blue Ivy performed in the front [sic] of a huge audience!! And yes, I am a proud grandma. I am truly amazed by the courage that this brave, talented, beautiful 11-year-old exhibited last night!”

She added, “There were almost 70,000 people in that audience. She danced with professional dancers, grown folks, she did complicated choreography and moves that they rehearsed for months! She rehearsed and learned this in a little over a week. She was so smooth with it! Has such a smooth swag (reminds me of the great Aaliyah). So cool with it! She is the coolest most confident 11-year-old I know!!!!”

Would Knowles be down to hit the stage? “Maybe one of these times,” she told Page Six.

Meanwhile, Knowles jokingly told the outlet that she is glad the sold-out tour has come to a close—because it means her friends will stop asking her for tickets. “Oh God,” she said. “Every day people asked me for tickets to the concerts. Ten times a day. It’s not my tickets to give away! It is not my tour.”

Before the next world tour—possibly featuring three generations of women in Beyoncé’s bloodline—Beyoncé and Knowles have another collaboration in the works: a hair care line. “I can’t say much,” Knowles said of the venture. “We are going to deal with natural hair—every kind of hair.”

Kelly Rowland and former Destiny’s Child bandmate Beyoncé Knowles Carter have been more than just friends since both were little girls—they are more like sisters. And, when Rowland spoke of her biggest mistake, per People, it centered around Queen Bey.

It happened in 2011, when Beyoncé was pregnant with her first child—the baby that become dance phenomenon Blue Ivy Carter. On the latest episode of the “Yeah, I F—ed That Up” podcast, Rowland reflected on her biggest mistake, a moment when she accidentally revealed the sex of Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s first child on “Bang Showbiz.”

“Oh my God,” Rowland said. “When I made a mistake and told the sex of [Beyoncé’s] baby when she was pregnant with Blue.” It slipped out when, at the time, Rowland said Jay-Z was “going to buy that little girl every single thing possible.”

“That was the worst moment ever,” she said. “It was bad because it was no one’s business. I felt terrible because it’s not my news. It was honestly the worst. It wasn’t my news to share, and I didn’t mean it like that. The ‘she’ just kind of slipped out.”

Beyoncé ultimately welcomed Blue in January 2012, and in June 2017 welcomed twins Sir and Rumi.

And speaking of Beyoncé and gender reveals, a viral moment from the singer’s Renaissance World Tour saw her reveal the sex of a concertgoer’s baby. During her stop in Cologne, Germany, the performer paused her show to acknowledge a fan’s sign asking for her assistance: “I wanna do this right, because, since the beginning of the show, I’ve seen this sign that says ‘Do my gender reveal,’” Beyoncé said. “I just want to do it right! Do I have to open the envelope? Can somebody hand me the envelope, please?” As she opened the letter containing the sex, she gave a sly smile.

“The Grammy Award winner simply said ‘girl’ into the microphone in a tone similar to her 2011 hit single ‘Run the World (Girls),’" People reports. “She then gave her well wishes to the soon-to-be parents as the crowd cheered.”

“Congratulations!” Bey said. “Congratulations, beautiful! God bless you!”

Beyoncé has been on the road this summer with her Renaissance World Tour, and eldest daughter Blue Ivy Carter has been on the stage with her mom, dancing in the background and earning every bit of praise thrown her way. The two are in between tour stops and took their brief break to support another family member—Beyoncé husband of 15 years, Jay-Z, and Blue’s dad.

The rapper currently has an exhibition at the Brooklyn Public Library, “Book of HOV,” and Beyoncé and Blue made an appearance at its unveiling, People reports. The exhibition showcases Jay-Z’s archived and never-before-seen items and masters throughout his storied career. 

Beyoncé shared photos on Instagram from the night, “as she took time out of her busy schedule to show support for her husband, along with her eldest daughter,” People writes. The singer kicked off the U.S. leg of her tour this week.

At the exhibition, Beyoncé was seen “sharing a tender moment with Blue—who has been popping up during several shows on her mom’s tour—as the 11-year-old was seen looking up at her mom smiling with her arm around her waist,” People reports.

Beyoncé wore a full orange look: A sheer lace shirt with a plunging neckline tucked into a high-waisted sequin pencil skirt. The look was accessorized with a silver embellished choker, matching earrings, a gold shiny bucket bag, and sunglasses. Blue wore a denim dress and matching blue bag, along with a gold name-plated necklace.

Jay-Z was also on hand, naturally, wearing a brown suit, a white shirt, and black sunglasses.

The Renaissance World Tour kicked off on May 10 in Stockholm, Sweden and continued through Europe until the June 28 stop in Warsaw, Poland. After stopping off in Toronto, Canada on July 8 and 9, the tour moved stateside on July 12 with a performance in Philadelphia and, last night, in Nashville. The tour resumes in Louisville tomorrow and concludes October 1 in Kansas City.

Blue will be alongside her mom throughout, making an appearance during the dance breakdown of “My Power,” from the singer’s 2019 The Lion King companion album, The Gift, and “Black Parade,” a single from 2020.

Concertgoers to Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour in Paris last night got a special surprise—the singer’s 11-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, joined her mom onstage for two songs, “My Power” and “Black Parade,” People reports.

Blue performed during the dance breakdown of “My Power,” which is from Beyoncé’s 2019 The Lion King companion album, The Gift, as well as her performance of her 2020 single, “Black Parade.” Blue was dressed in a shimmering silver jumpsuit that matched her mother’s, and the outlet reports she “executed the choreography to both songs flawlessly alongside Beyoncé’s backup dancers.” 

“Give it up for Blue,” Beyoncé told the crowd, which immediately broke into applause.

Beyoncé’s mother and Blue’s grandmother, Tina Knowles-Lawson, took to Instagram to write “Last night I saw my beautiful grandbaby (11) dance in the front of almost 70 thousand people ! She killed it and was as cool as a cucumber! Blue Ivy Carter ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ No Fear❤️❤️.” She also shared another video of Blue performing, writing “Last Night !! Blue Ivy proud grandma ❤️❤️.” 

This isn’t the first time Blue has joined her mom onstage—in January, the two duetted on their song “Brown Skin Girl” when Beyoncé performed an hour-long set at the new Atlantis The Royal Resort in Dubai. “Dressed in a red, sparkling ensemble, Blue Ivy sang her portion of the Grammy Award-winning song, while her mom, wearing a yellow corseted dress that was topped with a feathered skirt and matching backpiece, sang her own parts,” People reports. At the end of the song, Blue hugged her mom and walked up the stage’s steps, where she then struck a pose and blew kisses at the crowd.

"What's better than 1 gift...2," she wrote. "Happy birthday Rumi & Sir."

Beyoncé spoke candidly about motherhood in her 2019 cover interview with Elle, opening up about navigating her career alongside her family life with Blue Ivy, Rumi, Sir, and husband Jay-Z. "I think the most stressful thing for me is balancing work and life," she said. "Making sure I am present for my kids—dropping Blue off at school, taking Rumi and Sir to their activities, making time for date nights with my husband, and being home in time to have dinner with my family—all while running a company can be challenging. Juggling all of those roles can be stressful, but I think that’s life for any working mom."

Beyoncé said the pregnancy losses she experienced before welcoming Blue Ivy changed her perspective on success, explaining, "Having miscarriages taught me that I had to mother myself before I could be a mother to someone else. And now, she's got a shot at a spoken word Grammy: Blue Ivy has narrated the audiobook for Hair Love, based on the short film by Matthew A. Cherry that won the Oscar for best animated short earlier this year. The film documents a Black father learning to do his daughter's hair; last year, it was made into a children's book, illustrated by Vashti Harrison, while it will soon become an animated series at HBO Max, Variety reports.

Cherry shared an introductory clip of the audiobook on Twitter Monday, debuting Blue Ivy's expert (and extremely cute) narration. "Dreamscape presents Hair Love by Matthew A. Cherry, narrated by Blue Ivy Carter," she says in the clip.

As the Beyhive (hello) exploded with delight on social media, Beyoncé's mom Tina Knowles-Lawson celebrated her granddaughter's achievement in a sweet Instagram post Monday, sharing a clip of Blue Ivy's narration alongside a congratulatory caption. "WOW !!! I heard My Grandaughter’s narration!! She killed it !!!!" Knowles-Lawson wrote. "I cannot wait to download her voice reading it !!!!!! This book was so great for our young black girls to love their hair!"

Back to Bey: She rang in her 39th birthday last week, spending the occasion with husband Jay-Z and children Blue Ivy, Rumi, and Sir on a yacht off the coast of Croatia. "The Carters celebrated Beyoncé's birthday with a sailing trip on the Adriatic Sea along the coast of Croatia. They spent most of their time on the superyacht, Lana, anchored in the Dubrovnik Riviera," an insider told E! News. The Knowles-Carters then "took a smaller boat to the heart-shaped island of Galešnjak for a birthday meal.

The family spent most of the trip on the yacht, the source revealed, though they "made a few trips to shore where they took photos of the coast and each other." Bey, if you fancy sharing that photo album, the Hive would be extremely grateful.

The Disney+ special, which will drop on July 31, was written, directed, and executive produced by Beyoncé, and was initially created to accompany last year's (incredible) Lion King: The Gift soundtrack. On Instagram last month, Beyoncé wrote, "'Black Is King' is a labor of love. It is my passion project that I have been filming, researching and editing day and night for the past year. I’ve given it my all and now it’s yours. It was originally filmed as a companion piece to 'The Lion King: The Gift' soundtrack and meant to celebrate the breadth and beauty of Black ancestry. I could never have imagined that a year later, all the hard work that went into this production would serve a greater purpose."

Blue Ivy took home the award for Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration for her collaboration with her mom, Beyoncé. The song, "Brown Skin Girl," which also features Wizkid and SAINT JHN, appears on The Lion King: The Gift album. And just to be absolutely, 100 percent clear, Blue Ivy fully deserves to share in any and all accolades the song receives, since she not only sings on the song's chorus, but also shares writing credit on the track.

I reiterate: What have you been doing with your life? 

Blue and Bey picked up the award Friday, during a non-televised ceremony, but Knowles family super matriarch, Tina Knowles Lawson, made sure the world knew about her granddaughter's impressive accomplishment in a gushing Instagram post on Saturday.

“Congratulations BLUE IVY on your NAACP award last night for [singing] and writing on 'Brown Skin Girl' from the Album The Gift," she wrote, along with a photo of Blue from the "Spirit" music video. "The youngest artist to win a major award👏🏾👏🏾Grandma is soo proud of you❤️❤️❤️ 8 years old!!!!🙏🏾❤️ You are giving all the beautiful little brown girls a voice."

Blue Ivy thinks watching the Super Bowl is a cool way to spend a Sunday, and now I, in spite of not quite understanding football, think watching the Super Bowl is a cool way to spend a Sunday. The eight-year-old took her parents, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, to the big game, tossing a ball with her dad around the empty field before the game started. In the clip, which was shared widely on Twitter, you can see Jay-Z hand Blue the ball while the two stand on the field; Blue puts her iPhone on the ground, and tosses the ball to someone off-camera (Beyoncé??) like it's no big deal. Now, I am no football expert—okay, that's putting it mildly—but it looked like a great throw to me!

In another clip, you can catch a sweet father-daughter moment between Jay-Z and Blue Ivy; Jay-Z slings his arm around his daughter and pulls her close as they walk.

But my favorite clip, by far, is of Blue Ivy animatedly texting someone (I assume texting?), thanks to the freaking memes that have accompanied it. Behold, please.

Tuesday marked the 8th birthday of the icon herself, Blue Ivy Carter, oldest daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z. And to celebrate the occasion, Bey's dad, Mathew Knowles, posted the sweetest video on Instagram, featuring a heretofore unseen photo of Blue. "Happy Birthday to my beautiful and oldest granddaughter Blue Ivy," Knowles wrote, signing off, "Love, Papa G." Adorable!

In the photo, Blue wears an outfit that puts my childhood ensembles to shame: cut-out shoulder sweater, cherry print skater skirt, and a backpack large enough to fit all her current and future trophies (more on that below).

It seems more than fair to assume that Blue Ivy will achieve big things in the year ahead, eight-year-old or no—after all, she did an awful lot at age seven. Allow me to refresh your memory, should you be in any (blasphemous) doubt about Blue's icon status. As E! reports, she made her debut on the Billboard Hot 100 chart last July with "Brown Skin Girl" from Beyoncé's album The Lion King: The Gift, alongside her mom, SAINt JHN, and Wizkid (plus, she made an extremely important appearance in the "Spirit" video.)

What's more, Blue secured her first ever songwriting award for "Brown Skin Girl," winning the Ashford & Simpson Songwriter's Award at the BET Soul Train Awards in November, alongside her parents. That's an award-winning songwriter at seven years old. And it's not even her only track—remember "Blue's Freestyle," first released on Jay-Z's 2017 album 4:44? When Blue was five? Please accept my apologies if I've made you feel extremely inadequate this morning, friends.

Here's the thing: Blue Ivy Carter was always guaranteed to be a polymath, being the child of one Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter. Just last month, she made her Billboard Hot 100 debut at the age of seven, and that's just the latest achievement in her already glittering career. According to her grandma Tina Knowles-Lawson, she's not just musically talented—she's a budding makeup artist, too.

Knowles-Lawson, whose Instagram account is perhaps the best on the whole platform, spoke to Entertainment Tonight at Beautycon LA Saturday, where she hosted a "fireside chat" about her career in the beauty industry. Asked whether Blue Ivy was interested in beauty, Knowles-Lawson said, "I’ve bought Blue so many makeup kits, much to her dad’s dismay. Because you know, dads don’t like that, but it’s just for playtime. We have fun."

"She’s quite a makeup artist. She’s amazing," Knowles-Lawson said. And this isn't just your average kid missing with their mom's lipstick, doubters: Blue Ivy has already mastered the cat eye, her grandma said. Here I sit, 26 years of age, unable to wing my eyeliner without a whole pack of makeup wipes and patience I just don't possess, while Blue Ivy has got it down at seven. Again, she's Beyoncé's daughter. What else would you expect?

Knowles-Lawson also revealed the age she let Beyoncé and Solange wear makeup: The Knowles sisters were 13 when they first explored all Sephora has to offer. Knowles-Lawson let them try out "a little lipgloss, maybe a little blush — and I always believed in mascara, that’s so fun," she said. "But not any base and all that stuff, that’s a little much."

Allow me to leave you with another reminder of Blue Ivy's excellence: as Essence reported, she became the youngest artist to place on the Billboard charts at just a few days old, when her cries appeared on dad Jay-Z's track "Glory." Her first real foray into singing, meanwhile, saw her enter the Hot 100, when she featured on Beyoncé's "Brown Skin Girl" from The Lion King: The Gift. I'm calling it now: In a decade, Blue's going to collect her first Grammy—and she'll do her own makeup for the ceremony.
