Earlier this summer, the sheer V-shaped straps on the supermodel's flip-flops gave the staple sandal the jelly treatment.

Take it from Barbara Palvin: Jelly shoes aren't to be overlooked in the maternity dressing department. As a fashion girl in my 20s who's constantly receiving Save the Dates, I'm always on the hunt for my next wedding guest dress. On August 17, a few weeks before my next nuptials, style inspiration struck during the most unlikely press tour. For Coyote vs. ACME, the newest film in the Looney Tunes universe, Lana Condor debuted a '90s-inspired slip dress that would make anyone the best-dressed guest at any wedding.

Since the To All the Boys I've Loved Before actor portrays a law intern in the live-action animated movie, method dressing wasn't really an option for Condor and her new stylist, Maren Taylor. (I mean, unless she wanted to wear blazers, hair bows, and jeans on repeat.) Instead, she seems to be prioritizing pretty elegance, as implied by her maxi dress from the Italian label Taller Marmo.

The vibrant green-yellow hue turned glamorous in an instant, thanks to lavender flowers that blossomed sporadically atop the spaghetti-strap silhouette. Short feather fringe lined the dress's sidewalk-sweeping hem, while a cascading scarf (which was shade-matched to perfection) added even more movement to the final 'fit.

Condor's green-and-purple gown nails my next wedding's black-tie dress code, but later this year, other couples called for more relaxed minis. The 29-year-old has me covered in the Dressy Casual department, too.

While en route to another Coyote vs. ACME event, her cape-sleeve style from Silvia Tcherassi made a strong case for little taupe dresses this wedding season. The chiffon shawl, draped across her décolletage, gave hints of the sheer shirt trend. But from the back, it floated through the wind as effortlessly as a bride's veil.

To finish the neutral look, Condor accessorized with a black top-handle tote, slim sunglasses, and the peep-toe pumps trend.

I wouldn't dare wear white during a wedding—unless it's my own. So, I immediately added Condor's ivory mini dress, adorned with itty-bitty black polka-dots, to my bridal moodboard. By pairing it with gold hoop earrings, a compact clutch, and suede mules, Condor proved I can rewear the black-and-white number long after I say "I do."

And just like that, Condor curated an entire weekend's worth of wedding looks so I didn't have to. If I've learned anything from her matrimony-ready marathon, it's that I would've missed out on some stellar dresses had I overlooked the cartoon's press tour. I'll never make that mistake again.

Turns out, the Olsen twins' most loyal clients share the same taste in knitwear, too. On August 17, the celebrity-beloved Ophelia Sweater, which first appeared in Jenner's closet years ago, returned to her Instagram feed—in a new, goes-with-everything color.

Jenner wasn't exaggerating when she referred to herself as a "lucky lady" in the caption: She secured the wool-and-cashmere blend crewneck before sizes started to dwindle. The $1,550 sweater comes complete with a ribbed collar, a matching hemline and cuffs, and bell-shaped sleeves. If the black-and-white filter isn't playing tricks on my eyes, Jenner's version is in the creamy white color called "Sand."

While the photographer (could it be Jacob Elordi?) cropped Jenner's pants and shoes from the picture, her oval-shaped sunglasses, canvas tote, and wine glass made the cut. Knowing the minimalist's personal style (and current fashion fixations), she might've stacked straight-leg jeans and high-vamp flats from The Row beneath the intentionally oversized, cozy silhouette.

At this point, The Row's repeat clients are as familiar with the Ophelia Sweater as they are with the Margaux, Park Tote, and Marlo bags. My (unscientific) research suggests the double-layered design has been infiltrating celebrity closets since the end of 2022.

Sofia Richie Grainge, Pamela Anderson, and Lawrence previously tested the "Grey Melange" color with a blazer, white jeans, and Adidas Sambas, respectively. Jenner, on the other hand, has the style in three neutral shades: gray, cobalt blue, and black.

Since launch, the sweater's styling potential has been tested. Back in 2023, Jenner's close friend, Bieber, transformed the thigh-sweeping sweater into a mini dress. According to Lipa's picture-perfect Instagram grid, she celebrated her friend's upcoming wedding with the "ultimate girls weekend." Paparazzi spotted the group getting gelato at the famous Gelateria Gepi, but the pop star's summer-whites look from Chloé was the real treat.

Embracing her friend's bridal era (or reviving her own), Lipa paired the French label's lace-trimmed camisole with the matching, $2,890 Fluid Drawstring Pants in the "Iconic Milk" shade. Translation: The boho-chic cotton pair, complete with eyelet cut-outs, was a creamy white color.

Peach pink ribbons cinched the billowy legs right below the knees, giving the pants the bloomers treatment. To finish her vacation 'fit, the newlywed accessorized with strappy brown sandals and the same supersized Chanel tote that she wore to the airport last week.

My fellow A-List Edit stand-ins, style director Sara Holzman and interim senior fashion news editor Irina Grechko, set a high bar for me this month, after testing the babydoll dress and track shorts trends. But as Marie Claire’s resident celebrity style spotter, all summer I had my eye on the It top of VIP fashion girls: the sheer shirt. If it could turn heads on the street style circuit, what would it do in my midwestern neck of the woods?

If I’ve learned anything from professionally waxing poetic about naked red carpet dresses, it’s that A-listers stay loyal to the sheer trend all year long. For me, however, August felt like the best time to dip my toe into transparent tops, because the forecasts are simply too sweltering for opaque options. Luckily, I already had a moodboard of my favorite celebrity looks.

The Nearly-Naked Shirt Trend

See-through shirts have been on my fashion bucket list for years, right next to underwear-as-outerwear and peekaboo boxers. But I didn’t gather enough courage until now, after Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Lawrence, and Katie Holmes made the trend look as effortless as a white T-shirt. Getting a new tattoo on my waist also helped seal the deal. How else could I showcase the teeny-tiny horses inked beneath my bust (without testing the bra top trend, that is)?

Hathaway first put sheer shirts on my radar two years ago, when she wore a Simkhai tank top that was two-thirds transparent. By this summer’s The Odyssey press tour, the actor gave the trend a maternity makeover in another partially see-through mesh Stella McCartney T-shirt.

Meanwhile, Holmes styled a navy tulle button-down, one of her go-to silhouettes, at a Ferragamo event in the Hamptons. (In addition to gauzy layers being one of summer’s biggest trends, they’re also one of the most carry-on-friendly.) Her fringe skirt and patent leather pumps added even more texture to the semi-sheer summer look.

How I Style It

Inspired by Holmes, I figured my first take on the trend should feature my favorite everyday silhouette: the classic crewneck T-shirt. I’ve had Dissh, an Australian brand beloved by Lawrence and Meghan Markle, on my radar since Kendall Jenner wore its sheer swimsuit cover-up back in 2024. Out of the 10 transparent options currently available, I selected the Sian Silk Organza Tee. After a slow-and-steady ironing session (it’s 100 percent silk, people), I slipped the light-as-a-feather find over a black bralette from my college days. (This Gap style is cut from the same lacy cloth.)

The second I realized two of my tattoos shone through Dissh’s silk organza, I became my sexiest self. Sure, between the wide boatneck and the double-lined cuffs, it’s an otherwise simple silhouette I’m used to wearing. But just by embracing the black silk’s sheerness, I felt as flirty as I do in my failsafe LBD.

I could’ve worn it with basically anything in my summer closet, including Gap x Hailey Bieber jeans, Bermuda shorts, or even capris. (I also can’t wait to stack it over my Kylie Jenner-favorited tank top from Guizio.) Instead, I took a go-big-or-go-home approach by pairing it with Dissh’s matching skirt. The column style’s opaque mini slip did all the modesty work for me.

As much as I love an all-black look in the summer, slingback sandals weren’t the vibe for a Monday evening. So, I chose Madewell’s take on the mesh ballet flats trend (another A-List Edit-approved style), which featured the trendy peony pink.

Earlier this year, Lawrence’s ability to style a sheer shirt so effortlessly blew my mind. ICYMI, she layered a vintage silk Dolce & Gabbana robe over her tried-and-true $225 jeans from La Ligne. That outfit became my blueprint for a more relaxed take on the trend. I layered a boho-chic mesh cape from Leau over another label-less bralette and cuffed dark-wash Old Navy denim. The under-$70 cape provided more coverage than the T-shirt in the first look, making it a family-friendly but still elegant choice.

While Lawrence accessorized with the leopard-print pumps trend, I slipped on Hailey Bieber-approved heeled flip-flops instead. For an even more casual co-ord, I could see swapping my vintage Manolo Blahnik sandals with end-of-summer shoe trends like white sneakers, high-vamp flats, or—if you’re more maximalist than I am—jelly shoes.

Turns out, this daring trend isn’t just for VIPs. In my closet now, sheer shirts are as versatile (if not more) than my well-loved white tees.

Last weekend, two of summer's most star-studded weddings fell on the same Saturday. Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, and Phoebe Bridgers celebrated recording engineers Oli Jacobs and Laura Sisk in London. In Malibu, California, gowns by Roberto Cavalli and Versace made Kylie Jenner and Hailey Bieber the best-dressed guests at the wedding of Jordyn Woods and Karl-Anthony Towns.

The It girl and New York Knicks star invited 250-plus guests to attend their black-tie nuptials, but Jenner and Bieber were unmissable in the crowd. First up? Jenner. Stylists Mackenzie and Alexandra Grandquist tracked down a 22-year-old gown from Roberto Cavalli's Spring 2004 collection. The halter-neck number boasted some of Jenner's favorite decorative elements: massive cut-outs that stretched from her shoulders to her hips, and bedazzled detailing, in the form of bands that encircled her bust and waist.

For her finishing touches, the Khy founder used the dress's thigh-high slit to showcase her take on the naked shoe trend. Meanwhile, her boyfriend and Knicks fan, Timothée Chalamet, challenged the formal dress code by pairing a black leather blazer with matching trousers and a blue shirt.

To match Jenner's energy, Bieber ditched fresh-from-the-runway designs for another Italian label's three-year-old collection. The Rhode founder's stylist, Dani Michelle, got her hands on the black column dress that Naomi Campbell modeled in Versace's Fall 2023 fashion show. While silver crystals and sequins adorned the triangular bust and its diagonal straps, the rest of the skirt remained embellishment-free.

Understandably, given the occasion, Campbell's original accessories (patent leather opera gloves and T-strap shoes) didn't make the cut. Instead, Bieber finished her wedding guest outfit with diamond stud earrings, her beloved vintage Gucci horsebit clutch, and peep-toe slingback stilettos. Her husband, Justin Bieber, wore a classic suit and tie.

Luckily for guests with more weddings to attend this year, celebrities have been delivering enough non-bridal style inspiration to last until the season slows down in October.

As the older sister, Dakota set the easy-breezy tone in Chloé's sold-out ivory slip dress, complete with spaghetti-slim straps and a ruffled neckline. She accessorized with velvet, blue Mary Jane flats and a black drawstring bag by the Italian label Venerdì Pomeriggio featuring sequin flowers, fringe hem, and tassel drawstrings.

T-strap shoes have been around since the flappers of the 1920s. Thanks to Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, and the stars of Gossip Girl, the silhouette experienced a red carpet renaissance in the mid-2000s. More recently, while pointy strap-free pumps reigned supreme, T-strap shoes stayed on the outskirts of VIP-approved shoe trends. Until, that is, designers showcased their It-shoe potential on Fall 2026 runways.

Calvin Klein was one of the first to endorse the trend's comeback in a timeless kitten-heel version. Once Paris Fashion Week rolled around, Dior debuted rose-adorned and lily pad-shaped T-strap sandals in butter yellow, peony pink, and cobalt blue.

Later on in Fashion Month, the T-strap shoe trend became borderline unrecognizable. Chanel's creative director, Matthieu Blazy, covered its front profile in red, black, and white fringe. Meanwhile, Dries Van Noten stacked paisley-printed socks beneath a floral brocade pair.

See? T-strap shoes have come a long way since the '20s, or even Season 1, Episode 10 of Gossip Girl. This year, the shape won over Halsey, as well as former Marie Claire cover stars Natasha Lyonne and Teyana Taylor (at the 2026 Met Gala, no less).

Still, its extravagance didn't outshine the shade of her designer maternity dress.

Hailey Bieber's ever-expanding flip-flops collection puts my single pair of thong sandals to shame. This summer, while I walked almost 100,000 steps on J.Crew slides, Bieber divided her step-and-repeats among almost 10 different flip-flops from fashion's biggest names like The Row and Toteme, as well as more emerging labels like A.Emery and Jude.

Sandals with V-shaped straps have been stuck to her soles since early 2025. For some celebrities, Jennifer Lawrence and Zoë Kravitz included, The Row's now-iconic Dune Sandal started their flip-flop fixation. But Bieber didn't debut the $750 best-sellers until March 29, 2025, one week after she already broke in Toteme's Leather Flip-Flops. By my (unscientific) count, the kitten heels have completed almost 30 of her street style looks.

Once the Totemes survived Bieber's Coachella test (they came out unscathed), she likely knew she could style the summer essential anywhere. The style isn't the French fashion house's only ludicrously capacious bag with a celebrity following. In fact, Dua Lipa carried Chanel's newest supersized style into New York's JFK Airport. If only the paparazzi captured her TSA agent's reaction.

The pop star has been in NYC since the premiere of her husband Callum Turner's new rom-com, One Night Only, earlier this month. Lipa wore a custom Ferragamo look on the red carpet, but for her flight abroad, she returned to her Chanel girl roots.

Boarding flights in airplane-proof loungewear has never been Lipa's MO. Wearing Matthieu Blazy's debut Cruise collection to check her luggage, however, is so on-brand for the frequent flyer. Two months ago, she traveled to her Italian wedding with a beach bag from Chanel's Cruise 2026 fashion show in tow.

Lipa's XXL vacation bag, a scene-stealer on the Cruise 2027 catwalk, defied any airport's personal item policy. It definitely didn't have any issues holding all of her travel essentials, though. The tapered trapezoidal silhouette was twice the size of any carry-on suitcase that could squish into the overhead bin.

As if the massive bucket bag wasn't unmissable enough, classic stripes in tomato red and indigo blue turned even more heads inside the terminal. Chanel's interlocking Cs ensured everyone within a two-mile radius knew she's still loyal to the atelier behind her dreamy wedding dress.

In true brand ambassador style, the purse wasn't the only Chanel piece of Lipa's look. To maximize summer's stripe trend, she also styled a black-and-white quarter-zip from earlier in the Cruise 2027 fashion show.

To finish her luxe airport outfit, the Grammy winner traded the fringed multicolor skirt and cap-toe pumps for straight-leg jeans and black boots. (The pointed pair seems to be at the top of her vacation packing list—she wore the same style after her honeymoon in late June.)

Believe it or not, Lipa's beach bag wasn't even the most spacious style on Chanel's Cruise 2027 runway. Mona Tougaard modeled a red, yellow, and black version alongside a leather maxi dress. The tote's raffia design stretched from her rib cage to below the knee. You could basically fit a folding chair, Chanel-branded towels, and Lipa's smaller size inside, with room to spare.

Chanel has always appreciated the spectacle of a larger-than-life bag. Thirteen years ago, Karl Lagerfeld's quilted Hula Hoop Bag, which borrowed from its namesake shape, caused waves at the Spring 2013 fashion show. It featured classic Maxi Flap details, including the brand's emblem atop the key-lock, and a circular black frame in place of leather straps. Fast forward to 2026, and Lagerfeld's jaw-dropping design sells secondhand for $75,000.

Chanel's Cruise 2027 carry-all might not be as wearable as the Maxi Flap or as expensive as Lagerfeld's archival piece, but once it launches later this year, it could become a hot ticket item, too. Here's to awaiting the return of Matthieu Blazy Mania.

While I haven't even touched my favorite trench coat since at least April, Kaia Gerber kept hers in regular rotation all summer long. No matter the weather, she found ways to wear the French-girl favorite with various denim trends, little black dresses, and ballet flats, of course. On August 13, one of the coolest days during L.A.'s heatwave, Gerber's classic trench and ballerinas looked ready for a perfect fall date night in Paris.

After weeks of promoting Ryan Murphy's new nostalgic TV series, The Shards, Gerber enjoyed a much-deserved dinner with her boyfriend, Lewis Pullman. The actor's off-duty outfit wasn't too different from her press tour style, which featured '90s-inspired slip dresses and statement scarves, too. Opposite Pullman's barn jacket and white jeans, Gerber dressed herself in a knee-length LBD, the khaki-colored trench she can't stop styling, and black suede shoes from her March 2026 collaboration with French footwear brand Repetto.

There must've been a chill in L.A. last night, because Gerber also wrapped a chocolate-brown sweater around her neck like a scarf. After she traded Chanel's new Maxi Flap Bag for a vintage navy blue version, the supermodel finished her French girl 'fit with silver hoop earrings and oval-shaped sunglasses.

This trench—complete with epaulettes, buckled cuffs, and a Peter Pan collar— seems to have joined Gerber's coat rack earlier this year. So far, it's been spotted with her beloved Gucci Jackie Bag, cropped Dôen cardigans, and no shortage of straight-leg jeans.

Gerber is an L.A. girl, through and through, but she shares the Parisian penchant for foolproof uniforms. However, I didn't expect to see so much of her trusty trench coat and ballerinas before switching my calendar from August to September.

This is The Close-Up, where the biggest names in entertainment explain the story behind their latest personal style statement.

According to Poorna Jagannathan, her wardrobe can be divided into “pre-Deli Boys” and “post-Deli Boys” eras. “My pre-Deli Boys wardrobe is a lot flowier, and that is not my vibe anymore,” the Never Have I Ever actor tells Marie Claire.

While starring as Lucky in the Hulu crime-comedy series, Jagannathan was introduced to a side of fashion—and a lot of Mugler— that changed the way she wanted to dress offscreen. “There was a certain way that Lucky dressed that I had never stepped into before, and I can never step out of now,” she says. “She just has a very structured, powerful look to her. It's a lot of shoulder… It's avant-garde, and I always want my red carpet look to have a tiny tinge of that.”

For the premiere of HBO’s highly anticipated DC Studios series Lanterns, Jagannathan considered a gamut of brands before ultimately landing on the French fashion house’s Fall 2026 runway. The moment felt full circle to her fashion reinvention. “[For Deli Boys], we got Mugler off, like, The RealReal,” she says. “To be able to wear this current season is beyond my wildest dreams.”

Designed by creative director Miguel Castro Freitas, the look has all the power-dressing hallmarks of Mugler—structured shoulders, razor-sharp tailoring, cinched waist—while its green color is an homage to Lanterns. “To step into a Mugler moment for this particular role seemed very apt,” she says. “‘The Commander’ collection plays with silhouettes that convey power and structure, and it's very much the character. She is an extraordinarily powerful woman and commands a lot of attention.”

Jagannathan doesn’t consider herself to be a strict “method dresser,” but she admits to liking a theme. “It helps me whittle all the stuff down,” she says. And once she commits to an idea, she is willing to go all in. After she discovered the Mugler look involved a sweater and a winter coat, she didn’t once consider switching to something more appropriate for L.A's August heat. “I am going to die,” she jokes ahead of the event. “But I am so willing to pay the price of that.” She did, however, draw the line at not wearing the green gloves shown on the runway: “It would just completely melt me.”

That willingness to commit is part of what makes fashion so fun for Jagannathan. She loves collaborating with costume designers on her characters’ wardrobes—“I come with not only costume suggestions, I also come with costumes”—and has developed a keen understanding of the labels that work for her. (In addition to Mugler, she considers Saint Laurent “a lighthouse brand.”)

Lately, she has also been diving deeper into vintage shopping, “splurging a couple of times a year” on archival pieces. Ever since her friend, television personality Tan France, lent her a 1986 Alaïa jacket, she has “been on the internet looking for anything from that collection.”

Jagannathan traces that instinct for fashion experimentation back to her upbringing in India. As a high school student in Delhi, she shopped on Janpath Street, known for export-surplus garments. “[You would find] stuff where one sleeve is shorter than the other or like the buttons are put on the wrong way,” she says. “I learned fashion on the streets of this ‘export-reject’ place where I'd have to mix and match and make really quick decisions and bargain someone down to close to zero.”

Her shopping habits may have changed since then, but her appreciation for the region’s craftsmanship and custom tailoring has only deepened. “South Asians designers have always been in the background at Western couture houses,” she says. “The craftsmanship is unparalleled.” With this in mind, Jagannathan makes a point to wear at least one South Asian designer on every press tour. (For Lanterns, she is planning a look from Indian designer Rahul Mishra’s latest Couture collection.)

Working directly with designers like Gaurav Gupta and Anita Dongre on custom pieces has made those fashion moments particularly meaningful. “To take a modern piece, like Mugler, it's such an honor to wear it,” she says. “But when you are also able to have a dialogue with a designer, there's something about your own imprint in it that makes it even more special.”

For Lanterns, Jagannathan let the Mugler look take the lead, pairing it with Christian Louboutin pointed-toe pumps and minimal jewelry, consisting of Misho earrings and Lié Studio rings. “It's such a commanding look that my instinct was to go very simple with everything else,” she says. Her beauty look followed the same logic. Jagannathan swept the wig she wore on Lanterns into a slicked-back style—a red-carpet ritual she has adopted across projects. “I'll try and wear the wig that the character is in,” she says.

With a particularly packed year of premieres, Jagannathan has “really upped” the attention she gives to getting red-carpet ready. “This year, pretty much back-to-back, I had Deli Boys [Season 2] premiere and press. And then Lanterns. And as soon as Lanterns finishes, I start Nocturne press,” she says. “I felt like I should invest in a beauty routine because there's so much public-facing stuff.”

In the months leading up to the premiere, that has included XERF treatments for skin tightening at Lean Lab and PicoSure laser sessions at Jour Hair & Skin Institute for her melasma. Closer to the event, she turned to her go-to facial at Osea and at-home red-light therapy with CurrentBody. Then there is what she considers the “pièce de résistance” of her beauty prep: “No matter what city [an event is in], I will get a spray tan.”

For all the planning that goes into a red carpet, Jagannathan’s approach comes down to knowing how she wants to feel once she gets there. “I think about the occasion. I think a little bit about the theme. I think about what I want to convey,” she says. “I just gravitate towards a very powerful structural look for the red carpet. That's just who I am and what I feel very comfortable in.”

So what would her Lanterns character, who spends much of her time makeup-free on a Nebraska ranch, make of the transformation? Jagannathan likes to believe she would be impressed: “[She would say,] You clean up well—farm to serving, baby.”

It's been 41 days since Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce tied the knot inside New York's Madison Square Garden. Still, photos of the newlywed's custom wedding gown by Christian Dior Haute Couture remain hidden in her vault. That's not to say Swift is lying low. On August 12, for her first public sighting since saying "I do," Swift traded bridal whites for a little lavender dress.

While we don't know much about Swift's wedding dress, her post-nuptials look is already available to buy. The lilac mini is from Delphine, a two-year-old, New York-based brand founded by Canadian fashion designer Tanya Taylor.

For a reservation at Annabel’s, a private members’ club in London, Swift styled the $995 Mini Isabelle Dress, which featured slim straps, a V-shaped neckline, and a thigh-sweeping skirt. Metallic pink flowers adorned the dress, which shares the signature color of Swift's Speak Now era.

While Swift has been MIA since her wedding, her summer style has shown no shortage of floral-printed pieces. Similar blooms blossomed on her Dôen maxi in May; an Erdem mini at the Toy Story 5 premiere; her Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction gown from Givenchy; a butter yellow Simkhai slip at Tight End University; and her wedding guest dress in mid-July.

While the dress marked an Eras Tour-esque shift from her newly minted minimalist persona, Swift's accessories were so on-brand. The pop star sourced her ever-expanding Aquazzura shoe rack for the metallic gold "Love Struck" sandals she wore with a Ralph Lauren dress in June 2026. To continue the gold color story, she carried a crystallized ombré clutch from Christian Louboutin as a crossbody.

Swift's finishing touches? A seemingly shorter haircut and the Cartier Santos Demoiselle Watch she's worn on many nights out with her husband, Travis Kelce. Weeks before walking down the aisle in custom Dior Couture, Swift rotated between bridal white and little black dresses. Some celebrity brides don't stop wearing white once the marriage certificate is signed—one of her best friends, Selena Gomez, wore a white summer dress from Dôen weeks after marrying Benny Blanco.

This year, each time a new rom-com was released, I left the theater with a little bit of popcorn and endless cool-girl style inspiration. Now, thanks to Emma Stone's fall fashion in The Catch, I am ready to start working on my style for next season.

Stone's three-month hiatus from Hollywood ended on August 12 in Brooklyn, New York. The plot of the "baseball romantic comedy," directed by Stone's husband, Dave McCary, and starring Chris Pine, is under wraps. But, according to the on-set sneak peek for the 2027 film, I'm certain that the "most hated woman in baseball" has a very good fashion sense.

Her outfit looked straight from a professional New Yorker's fall closet, complete with a navy blue sweater vest, worn over a white button-down, and straight-leg jeans from Still Here. The Oscar winner's accessories—the soft loafers trend (with white socks) and a brown suede tote bag—added an office-ready, preppy twist to the otherwise minimalist formula.

Using context clues from other The Catch sightings, Stone could be a sports executive, manager, or agent. Last month, she filmed a scene with Mets' Juan Soto, the highest-paid player in major league baseball, in Citi Field's dugout. She tried to maintain a low profile—in a white T-shirt, high-vamp flats, and a khaki-colored barn jacket by Still Here—but the paparazzi spotted her regardless.

When I saw Stone on set today, her look reminded me of Dakota Johnson in Materialists, whose New York City persona influenced her character's style. Built from everyday basics, the outfits in the Celine Song film similarly featured sleek accessories and outerwear that elevated them to effortlessly chic territory.

I completely underestimated the sneakerhead side of Camila Cabello. In true celebrity fashion, her shoe rack is stocked with Adidas Sambas. But this summer, she widened her horizons to the brand's leopard-print Taekwondos and, most recently, a new-to-me pair of slim sneakers.

Name any best-selling Adidas sneaker, and chances are, I have it. Even so, Cabello might be more loyal to the athletic label than I am. On August 12, she traded Sambas, Taekwondos, and Tokyos for the fairly overlooked Barredo Lo sneakers.

Cabello's low-profile pair launched earlier this year. The style resembles the Adidas Japan silhouette, with familiar features like suede T-toe boxes, perforated uppers, and slightly slanted outsoles.

Though visually similar, the styles differ in price. With a synthetic, rather than leather, upper, the $70 Barredo Los could give the $110 Japans some wallet-friendly competition. What's more: The "Señorita" singer's exact pair is currently on sale—for $53.

Running sneakers and Sambas were Cabello's Adidas uniform back in 2019. Recently, she has been stepping outside her comfort zone. Just last month, she showcased Taekwondo sneakers on Instagram, featuring Mary Jane-inspired lacing, burgundy trim, and pony-hair leopard print. Just like the Barreda Los, the sneakerinas were a far cry from the black-and-white Sambas she once wore nonstop.

All eyes were on the campaign star, dressed in colorful knitwear, denim capri pants, and the celebrity-beloved Chanel 25 Bag (in another bold, grass green hue).

Cardi took style cues from her on-screen self by wearing not one, but two cardigans. The first sweater was a "Bodak Yellow"-approved shade of lemon. Seemingly inspired by the primary color-blocking trend that appeared on the spring 2026 runways, Cardi B didn't stop at one eye-squintingly bright hue. She topped the yellow knit with a cobalt blue one.

Celine, Jil Sander, Dries Van Noten, McQueen, Nina Ricci, and Loewe splattered blue-and-yellow looks all over the season's runways. Designers played with contrasting pops of blueberry and butter, highlighter yellow and cobalt, and even aquamarine and mustard. But be warned: With such a vast shade range, it's easy to overcomplicate primary colors. Take it from Cardi B: The contrasting combination looks best with everyday basics.

Cardi B's launch party picks are perfect for minimalists looking to test brighter color palettes. If her cardigans are anything like her Old Navy jeans, though, they won't stick around for long. At this point, my denim drawer has become a big family reunion for sister brands Gap and Old Navy. I have the Old Navy jeans I wore nonstop in high school and my new Gap x Hailey Bieber denim. But which pair is currently my favorite child? The new curvy girl-friendly jeans that Cardi B modeled in Old Navy's new "Most Wanted Denim" campaign, starring Quenlin Blackwell, Paloma Elsesser, and more.

Old Navy won me over as early as sixth grade, when I finally found jeans that comfortably fit my premature curves. As an adult (and a fashion writer), I've sampled no shortage of designer denim brands, but I always end up coming home to wallet-friendly finds from the American label. There, jeans are trendy, stocked with a stellar size range (plus, regular, petite, and tall lengths), and easily accessible at my local mall. All that to say: I had high expectations for the latest celebrity-led collection.

Turns out, Cardi B and I have more in common than just our waist-to-hip ratios. According to the press release, the Grammy winner and Old Navy go way back, too: "I grew up shopping at Old Navy! I remember my mom would always get our 4th of July outfits from there, so being a part of the campaign felt like a full circle," she said, referring to the wide-leg, mid-rise, and barrel silhouettes showcased in the new campaign. "You can always walk in and find something cute, something for your body type, something that makes you feel good, and doesn't break the bank."

Cardi's style sold out within minutes of the initial launch on Aug. 6. When I found out there was a restock happening, on Aug. 13, I jumped at the opportunity to try them out.

The Curvy Extra High-Waisted Cuffed Wide-Leg Jeans feature a no-gap waistband and more room around the hips (though the $49.99 denim is also available in the standard shape). Standout details include contrasting cuffs and the dark "Dawn Cuff" wash.

For me, putting on jeans was a process that required a fair share of shimmying. But the struggle was worth it once I pulled Cardi's Old Navy pair over my hips. At this point in the denim dressing operation, I usually see a 2- to 3-inch gap between the button and my stomach (perks of my 36-27-39 measurements). With this pair, the high-rise waistline hugged my figure like a glove. I didn't even need a belt, like I typically do with other denim.

Styles this form-fitting around my midsection usually include wide legs that are, well, less than wide. I'm happy to report that this was a true wide leg that didn't taper toward the bottom. Most importantly: The jeans didn't require any tailoring. The hems stopped in line with my 5-foot-tall frame. (My fellow short fashion girls know that rarely happens.)

Cardi B wore her Old Navy jeans with button-downs in tomato red and dark denim. I see a lot of Canadian tuxedos in my midwestern neck of the woods, so I switched things up with a sheer shirt from L.A. label Leau, a lacy bralette underneath, and vintage Manolo Blahnik flip-flops. Later, I styled the denim more casually by trading my mesh cape for the white top trend fresh from Copenhagen Fashion Week.

Yes, I'm standing in these Instagram-worthy pics, but they're also the best "sitting jeans" I've worn in a while. I made it through an entire family dinner, drinks with my fiancé, and a sunset stroll with my dog without unbuttoning them once. For context, in any other brand-new jeans, I would've snuck away to the bathroom for what I like to call a "breathing break." (IYKYK.) I was inhaling and exhaling just fine, and there was no uncomfortable breaking-in period.

Cardi's cuffed jeans arrived on my doorstep days ago, and they're already starting to feel like second skin. So much so, I've worn them every day this week.

I did take one break to try the petite Arc Mid-Rise Barrel Jeans (styled by Brooks Nader in the campaign), which nudged me outside of my denim comfort zone. I've never given the barrel jeans trend a proper chance, always opting for flared or wide-leg options instead.

I was pleasantly surprised by how well the mid-rise, below-the-belly-button jeans formed to my figure. They weren't even from the Curvy catalog! Leaning into the cool-girl energy of the horseshoe shape, I paired the denim with my favorite white T-shirt from Old Navy and Bella Hadid's signature ballet sneakers by Vivaia.

While Cardi's jeans made me feel snatched and sexy, Nader's denim widened my horizons to a '90s-inspired, Katie Holmes-worthy shade and shape.

The new Old Navy campaign proved "you don’t have to overpay for great jeans." By keeping all the denim under $60 (with some styles on sale for $38 or less), there's something for everyone, even curvy and petite fashion people like me.

My jeans drawer already got the upgrade of the year, but you deserve one, too. So grab Cardi B's exact denim (as well as bottoms modeled by Elsesser, Blackwell, and Nader) before they sell out again. I'd say they're worth the investment, but for $49.99, they're more of a steal.
