For the past six weeks, Love Island USA has been a litmus test of the American public’s views on lustfulness and compatibility. This is a defining factor of dating shows, but the Peacock series’ record-breaking growth since season 6 has made its discourse inescapable. With season 8, however, a new bombshell is changing the course of the country’s biggest reality show: The manosphere has taken over Love Island USA, and it’s ruining the experience for longtime watchers who tune in to see, well, love.

LIUSA is the latest escapist reality hit that the mainstreaming of radical conservatism has altered in recent years. In both seasons 7 and 8, the younger cast members—who spent their late teens living through the COVID-19 pandemic—have reflected the talking points of the manosphere, the network of internet communities centered on toxic masculinity, gender essentialism, and opposition to feminism. Men who spent their formative years online at a time when social media algorithms amplified this content have adopted its views: that women should be “soft” and subservient to men, that men are entitled to their romantic interests’ bodies, and that women who challenge men should be humbled. Hegemonic masculinity and misogyny have since become systemic bugs in American dating culture—and now defining features among some of the men in season 8’s core cast, to the point where viewers wondered whether they even like their partners.

Most of season 8’s men have spent their time in the villa exhibiting manipulative dating behaviors, putting minimal effort into cultivating relationships, bonding over belittling and disrespecting the female Islanders, and resenting the women for harming their egos. Since the first episodes, KC Chandler and Corbin Mims have been dubbed red-pill poster boys for disparaging women who wouldn’t get intimate with them. Zach Georgiou, who has been coupled up with Kayda Bosse since episode 2, has become notorious for his criticisms of the female cast, his dismissive attitude towards Kayda, and his constant backtracking after showing emotional attachment (i.e., telling her he was “joking” when he said “I love you” in bed). Also, while Sincere Rhea has been shown compassion and understanding by his costars for exploring connections behind Melanie Moreno’s back, Kenzie Annis hasn’t received nearly as much goodwill.

It doesn’t help that the men have arguably been positioned with challenges and recouplings in their favor. Corbin received the unilateral choice to couple up with someone ahead of the girls’ choice recoupling in episode 5; he also chose whether to save Melanie or Beatriz Hatz in episode 9. (In the same dumping in season 7, all of the safe Islanders voted for whom to save.)

What was subtle red-pill influence became overt in season 8’s cruelest moment, when the Heart Rate challenge was revealed to be the start of Casa Amor. With this year's Casa twist being that the women were subjected to watching a livestream of the men meeting the new Bombshells—with the Casa men’s arrival delayed to the following day—some viewers argued the shameless behavior they witnessed was the push the girls needed to explore. Really, though, it served as a microcosm of the season: The men got to have their cake and eat it too, while the women were emotionally tortured for the sake of their growth.

The manosphere isn’t just influencing Love Island USA from within the villa; it’s also infecting the fandom through a new subset of viewers: the KC Defenders. KC was an early fan favorite this year for his meme-worthy reactions and admiration of dark-skinned women, and he spent the first three weeks of the show—a long-term relationship in the villa—coupled up with Aniya Harvey. But once bombshell Sol Dean entered the villa, discerning fans (and Aniya herself) began to see hints that he was sticking with her as a safe choice rather than pursuing Sol and facing possible rejection. KC eventually left Aniya for Tierra “Titi” Davis, a Casa girl who unabashedly pursued him and wasn’t a “grandma” in bed, as he’d called Aniya. The game plan of playing it safe with someone you’re lukewarm towards until someone comes along who you’re really interested in isn’t new. But KC’s blatant disrespect toward Aniya for not fitting into Titi’s “down for her man” mold inspired both extreme hate from some fans and extreme love from others.

While some of KC Defenders point to his natural chemistry with Titi, their “‘03 Bonnie & Clyde” arc, and a celebration of Black Love, the vocal majority of KC love stems from a hatred of Aniya. The tall former volleyball player and daughter of a former NBA star, Aniya has faced unnecessary hate throughout season 8, from criticizing her naturally textured wigs, calling her too insecure based on her (eventually validated) concerns about KC, to accusing Carl Schmidt of faking his interest in her because she’s a fan-favorite among female viewers. Even though KC himself owned up to disrespecting and resenting Aniya during their apology in episode 26, his defenders will swear up and down that his comments weren’t disrespectful in context, while also calling Aniya hypocritical for speaking badly about him in response to his actions.

What's more? Fan interaction has expanded beyond the show's voting process, Reddit, X, and Threads to perhaps the fastest-rising red-pilled spaces online: prediction markets. Platforms like Kalshi and Polymarket primarily appeal to fans of male-dominated subcultures, such as sports betting and crypto, and directly tie in to the get-rich-quick schemes popular in the manosphere. They’re also easily manipulated, with reports of users getting rich off insider information and rigging real-life situations to match their bets. As legalized gambling and prediction markets have surged in the past two years, competitive reality television has become a popular target. This year, Kalshi and Polymarket launched new Love Island markets, even promoting them through social media ads and collaborations, in hopes of attracting more women to their male-dominated user bases. While the viewership numbers of the rumored influx of straight men who watch LIUSA haven't been disclosed, fans have noticed an increase of online sports fans (who call themselves “KC FC,” as in football club) putting money on KC and Titi making it to the finale, sharing voting campaign threads, and lamenting Kalshi screenshots predicting that KC and Titi won’t make the final four couples. It’s no coincidence that the men who are crossing over from these spaces into Love Island USA are rallying behind a man whose arc has centered on misogyny. Nor is it a surprise that this is turning off female viewers.

The easiest way to dominate the attention economy is through outrage, and reality TV has this down to a science. Producers know how to contrive divisive storylines so their shows will ride the waves of online discourse to pop culture ubiquity. Though shows like Love Island USA and Love Is Blind have seemingly used this strategy to become too big to fail, we also know that outrage isn’t sustainable. Core fans are alienated, potential cast members get cautious, and viewers eventually succumb to either fatigue or boredom. This installment of Love Island has spurred a new kind of bleakness, beyond the typical angst and heartbreak of dating, to a fatalistic musing on whether this season’s men even really like the women. When the love disappears from Love Island and only misogyny remains, who will keep watching once the twists aren’t hitting and money can’t be made?

On July 9, Gigi Hadid wore the summer's polka-dot trend while on a date with her boyfriend, actor-director Bradley Cooper. See? Even tourists can't resist the French-girl-beloved pattern.

The power couple celebrated another glamorous Haute Couture Week at Le Stresa restaurant. As far as I know, Rowen Rose is a new designer for Gigi Hadid. She accessorized the midi with some of her signature styles from Miu Miu. The brand ambassador chose the Wander Matelassé Bag, known for its singular shoulder strap, decorative stitching, and yellow gold branding. (She owns it in black and Barbie pink, too, but white leather made the most sense with the ivory-accented dress.)

To round out her brown-and-white color story, the supermodel chose Miu Miu's take on the soft loafers trend. Each high vamp boasted the same gold branding as her Matelassé Bag; ruched heels hugged Hadid's ankles like ballet slippers.

While polka dot dresses never truly go away, the style is one of the season's biggest trends. During the Spring 2026 fashion show circuit, the design appeared on the runways at Dries Van Noten, Tory Burch, Khaite, and more. Dries Van Noten gave monochrome dots the naked dress treatment, while Tory Burch showcased an asymmetrical version of the look. Polka dots reached a new level of supersized at Khaite when Kendall Jenner modeled a printed maxi skirt.

The 18-carat-gold earrings are indeed stunning, but for those of us who don’t have royal titles, Tuckernuck offers a $48 pair that will give you princess energy without spending thousands.

For the price, you'd expect these statement earrings to be faux, but they're actually made from genuine freshwater pearls with a hypoallergenic titanium post. I'm incredibly impressed by the quality and the substantial size—they certainly don't feel cheap. I don't do well with heavy earrings, and although I wouldn't classify these as lightweight, they're comfortable enough to wear for hours.

Princess Kate has been wearing her Cassandra Goad earrings since 2018, pairing them with everything from wool coat dresses for formal church services to a lime green Self-Portrait dress at Wimbledon.

Nearly a century after the source novel's debut, Netflix's Little House on the Prairie offers a new take on an essential piece of American pop culture. Based on Laura Ingalls Wilder's autobiographical book series, the new show follows a young family in 1860s and 1870s America, as they settle in the burgeoning frontier town of Independence, Kansas. After one too many full-coverage outfits for the Office Romance press tour, I feared Jennifer Lopez might've left the naked dress trend in the past. On July 9, however, I breathed a sigh of relief. All Lopez needed to bring back her signature red carpet look was a Paris Haute Couture Week show.

It didn't take Lopez long to steal the show once in the French capital. Even before she found her seat in Greek designer Celia Kritharioti's front row, everyone was straining to catch a glimpse of the actress in the sheer dress—and for good reason.

Bhavitha Mandava

Matthieu Blazy's leading Chanel muse, model Bhavitha Mandava, represented the French fashion house at one of the biggest tennis tournaments. She chose a burgundy Mini Flap Bag to match the flowers atop her lace-trimmed camisole and midi skirt.

Princess Diana became internationally famous after marrying King Charles on July 29, 1981. However, according to one of her former royal staff members, Diana enjoyed sneaking out of the palace and wearing unexpected disguises to do so.

In his book A Royal Duty, former royal butler Paul Burrell opened up about some of Princess Diana's secret outings.

"When she was feeling particularly daring, she opted to wear an elaborate disguise, and kitting her out soon became part of my duty," the former butler wrote.

Burrell continued, "Once, I was sent out to buy a shoulder-length straight brunette wig from Selfridges. Then I had to go to an optician in Kensington High Street and purchase a pair of large, round-rimmed spectacles...When I got back to [Kensington Palace], the princess couldn't wait to try on her new look."

According to Burrell, Diana's transformation was so huge that she looked like "a different person."

The former butler shared, "She tried to keep a straight face but I couldn't help gawping. 'Nobody's going to recognize you! Look at you!'"

Per Burrell, the former Princess of Wales began "shrieking with laughter" and had "tears rolling down her face" following his reaction.

The ex-butler shared that Diana reportedly snuck into Ronnie Scott's jazz club in London, and she did so wearing a "wig, glasses, black Puffa jacket, and denim jeans."

Princess Diana was reportedly elated by how well her disguise worked, allowing her to enjoy a normal night out with friends.

The next day, Diana apparently told Burrell, "The smoke in that club got into my eyes—even with the glasses on!" She allegedly continued, "When we were standing outside, we queued far too long for my liking. I started to chat up a man next to us and he didn't have a clue who I was. It was so funny. I could be me in a public place!"

Basically, according to a former royal butler, Princess Diana loved wearing disguises to enjoy everyday experiences, which is completely understandable.

Prince William regularly makes jokes when conducting official royal engagements and his sense of humor definitely seems to help, even in more serious moments. On July 9, the Prince of Wales made a solo visit to Hastings, England, but one royal fan wasn't necessarily impressed after meeting the royal.

Prince William met a plethora of people during his visit to Hastings, including a baby named Sebastian. Per the BBC, a woman introduced the baby to William, saying, "This is Sebastian, he's been waiting for you."

According to the outlet, "when William crouched down, Sebastian burst into tears," which probably isn't the reaction the royal expected.

Not missing a beat, Prince William told Sebastian, "I know how you feel."

The Prince of Wales also remarked on how "hot" it was in the seaside town, and asked inhabitants if they were planning to go for a swim in the sea, via Hello! magazine.

Per the outlet, 4-year-old Arthur Turney—who was dressed as Spider-Man for the occasion—said he'd go swimming "when I get older." William responded by saying, "Today is the chance to swim. Go and make a big splash!"

On the Prince and Princess of Wales's Instagram account, a caption said of William's outing, "A visit to Hastings Commons, where neglected buildings have been transformed into homes, workspaces, and welcoming community spaces."

The caption continued, "Meeting young people at the youth club and spending time in the 'Public Living Room,' a place where anyone can find warmth, conversation, and connection. A powerful example of how community-led regeneration is creating opportunities and bringing people together."

Basically, Prince William's trip to Hastings appears to have been a huge success, even if one royal fan did start crying.

Despite losing his privacy case against Associated Newspapers earlier this week, Prince Harry is ensuring his visit to the U.K. is extremely productive and positive. On July 9, the Duke of Sussex made a trip to Birmingham Children's Hospital in honor of a specialist nursing program launched 20 years ago by the charity WellChild.

Prince Harry met with patients and their families, and he even opened up about his son, 7-year-old Prince Archie, who wasn't able to join him for the U.K. trip due to security concerns.

Per Hello! magazine, during a particularly memorable moment, Harry spoke to 12-year-old patient Alec Hill, saying, "Do you know who's obsessed with Lego? My son Archie—and he's a master builder."

It seems that both Prince Archie and Prince George enjoy building Lego sets. In January, Prince William visited the University of Bristol where he gifted "three small Lego figures of engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel for his children," per Hello!magazine.

At the time, the University of Bristol's vice-chancellor and president, Evelyn Welch, said on Instagram, "We were really delighted to give Prince William three little Lego models of Isambard Kingdom Brunel to take back home to his children. And he left saying that he knew where to come when George needed help with his homework!"

Prince Harry's hospital visit is especially important as the royal serves as a patron of WellChild, and was instrumental in helping launch the charity's nursing program.

As Prince Harry told staff members at the hospital, "I don’t know if you hear it enough, the difference that you make every single day is quite literally changing daily lives."

As honorary president of the nonprofit Ibercaja Foundation, Sofia gave a speech at the Monastery of Nuestra Señora de Cogullada, and her family put on a united front in smart trouser suits.

Per Royal Fashion Police on Instagram, Princess Leonor went for an affordable blue Easy Wear outfit from Spanish department store El Corte Inglés, wearing a $45 linen vest with a belted waist and matching blue wide-legged trousers retailing for just $41.

Princess Leonor wore her hair back in a neat braid, accessorizing with silver earrings, a Tiffany & Co. Elsa Peretti Open Heart pendant and a new striped clutch by Spanish brand Abbacino.

She added something borrowed and blue to her look, wearing the same pair of blue Alhamas espadrilles that Infanta Sofia previously wore to see the "Barbie" movie in 2023.

On July 9, The King paid a visit to London Zoo with Queen Camilla, and according to an expert, Charles displayed one of Queen Elizabeth's most valuable traits.

Body language expert Darren Stanton weighed in on the monarch's visit, telling Betfair Casino, "When he is looking at the penguins, Charles has his hands behind his back. That's almost his default posture."

Stanton continued, "It's clearly a comfortable position for him. If his hands were in front of him, you might sometimes interpret that as nervousness, but here he looks completely at ease in his surroundings with Camilla."

Charles and Camilla also had some fun when meeting the animals, which included helping a veterinarian take care of the penguins and feeding a 32-year-old Galápagos tortoise named Polly.

As for the one trait King Charles appears to have inherited from Queen Elizabeth, Stanton notes a moment the monarch spent with human beings at the zoo.

"When greeting a young woman, you can see he's fully engaged with her," Stanton told the outlet. "In many ways, he's very much like his mother. People often said that when they met Elizabeth II, they felt as though they were the only person in the room."

Stanton continued, "It seems Charles has either inherited or developed that same ability to build rapport and make people feel at ease."

According to the body language expert, King Charles was seen as "attentive" throughout the engagement, while "maintaining good eye contact."

Per Stanton, "Overall, Charles comes across as very self-assured, confident, and calm. We don't see any signs of pressure, stress, or a lack of confidence that we perhaps might have seen decades ago."

My boots have been collecting dust in my closet since 2026's first 60-degree day. I didn't plan on pulling them out of storage until at least September, either. But on July 8, Charlize Theron's Dior outfit convinced me to clear a spot for ankle boots on my summer shoe rack.

Much like her The Odyssey co-stars, Zendaya and Anne Hathaway, Theron has been living in sky-high stilettos during this high-profile press tour. But before the film's Paris premiere, the actress gave her soles a much-deserved break in moto boots from the Dior Fall 2026 collection.

The star wore a pair of suede, zip-up, calf-length booties. In addition to featuring a rich chestnut color, the flat, curved-toe boots also boasted Dior's logo in matte yellow gold.

To go with the boots, Theron and her stylist, Leslie Fremar, recreated the entire look from the Dior runway show, including the denim button-down and the asymmetrical mini skirt. Paul Burrell’s royal career ended when Princess Diana died in 1997, but the former palace butler originally worked as a footman to Queen Elizabeth before moving to Highgrove House in 1987. King Charles’s country retreat was a welcome escape for the then-Prince of Wales, but as Burrell tells Marie Claire, life in Gloucestershire became increasingly “difficult” as Charles and Diana led separate lives.

Burrell, speaking on behalf of Champions Speakers Agency, said Camilla would visit Prince Charles during the week, when Princess Diana, Prince Harry and Prince William were in London.

“Now, I was finding my job very difficult by this time because I realized that my duties were to be split between my princess and her boys at the weekend and Charles and his friend during the week,” Burrell says. “So it was difficult to keep those two worlds apart.”

When Diana came to stay at Highgrove, Burrell says he would join the family for “lovely outings to Alton Towers, to Bristol Zoo” and events like birthday parties. “William would drive his replica Aston Martin car down to our house to give my boys a ride around the estate,” he shares, describing his relationship with them as “kind of one big family.”

However, tensions between the prince and princess made working at Highgrove less “fun” for the butler. He describes one incident when Diana called “late at night” asking to speak to Prince Charles.

“I said, ‘I'm sorry, Your Royal Highness, he's not in,’” Burrell recalls. After Diana asked where her husband was, the butler said he wasn’t sure.

“She said, ‘You do know, Paul, because you know where he is 24-7. So either you're not telling me or you're lying for him,’” Burrell says, sharing that he asked her to not “drag” him into the situation.

“This was long before you knew there were troubles,” he says of Diana and Charles's marriage, sharing that the call put him in a tough spot because his “whole world” depended on his job.

After Diana called Charles the next morning, the now-King called Burrell in to speak with him. The former butler claims that Charles was livid, asking, “But why couldn't you lie? Why couldn't you say that you couldn't find me? Why couldn't you say I'd gone for a walk at 11 o'clock at night?”

After telling his boss that it wasn’t his “job to tell lies,” Charles allegedly showed off his “legendary temper” and “picked up a book and threw it” at the butler.

Following Charles and Diana’s separation in 1992, Burrell relocated to Kensington Palace to live with Diana and the boys, with Burrell sharing that the princess “rescued” him from the uncomfortable situation at Highgrove House.

“I thought, my time's up. My time is up. Diana rescued me,” he says.

Raise your hand if The Odyssey was on your school-mandated reading list. If so, you might remember that Athena, the goddess of war, never gets married. Yet, stylist Law Roach gave a wedding-worthy dress a starring role in Zendaya's The Odyssey press tour. On July 8, the star wore an angelic lace Louis Vuitton gown for the Paris premiere.

On July 7, Prince Harry learned that he’d lost his privacy case against Associated Newspapers, and after delivering a blistering statement that put The King in a compromising position, former royal butler Grant Harrold tells Marie Claire that he thinks a royal reunion is looking more uncertain than ever.

While royal sources have suggested that The King is still trying to arrange a meeting with his grandchildren, whom he hasn’t seen since 2022, Harrold says he doesn’t anticipate it being “happy families for a very, very long time.”

Prince Harry and six other claimants accused the publisher of the Daily Mail and the Mail on Sunday of unlawful information gathering, including phone hacking. In a joint statement released on Tuesday with fellow claimant Baroness Doreen Lawrence, the Duke of Sussex and the baroness said, “We came to Court seeking justice and accountability. But we have received neither.”

But as Harrold adds, “I just don't quite see how The King can come back from what's happened, and equally, I can't see how Harry can either. The gulf between them now seems deeper than ever.”

“To me, it feels as though the ship has sailed,” The King's former butler adds.

A lack of official police security has caused Harry to keep his children away from the U.K., but a source has told the Mirror that he's “frantically” trying to arrange a way to get his kids over safely. The insider added that Charles “would not pass up the opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren and if there is a way of making it possible, he will do it.”

Only time will tell whether Meghan and the children make it back to Harry's homeland, but the Duke of Sussex will be in Birmingham either way as he supports the events surrounding the 2027 Invictus Games.

King Charles traded his crown for a military helmet during a visit to the Royal Tank Regiment in Dorset, England this week, and body language expert Darren Stanton says that the monarch looked like he was having the time of his life while testing out one of the regiment's new tanks.

“You may be cool... but you’ll never be King Charles III riding in a Challenger 2 tank cool 😎,” the Tank Museum captioned a video of The King riding in the commander's seat.

Donning a helmet and microphone, the monarch removed his suit jacket and climbed into the military vehicle, and King Charles seemed to relish the opportunity to get into the driver's seat. "King Charles has a mischievous grin and he’s really loving being on the tank," Stanton shares, speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, adding that he looked like a "kid in a sweet shop."

Stanton continued that Charles "very much looks the part" in clips of him driving the tank, adding that the monarch "can be seen asking lots of questions, which probably takes him back to his career in the Royal Air Force and the Royal Navy."

The body language expert noted that King Charles appeared completely at ease despite the imposing equipment surrounding him. "Being on a tank can be quite scary and daunting, but there is none of that with The King," Stanton shares. "He looked genuinely happy and he's interacting with the other soldiers, with no masking smiles."

The King served in the military between 1971 and 1976, and Stanton says that Charles was able to tap into a different side of his personality and get "back to his grassroots" while visiting the regiment Monday. "This is a very rare glimpse of Charles that we don't often see," Stanton explains. "It's a rare opportunity for him to take a day off as a monarch without the fancy pomp and regalia."

Peter Phillips and his new wife, Harriet Sperling, have made their first Wimbledon appearance as a married couple, and the new Mrs. Phillips included a special nod to her June 6 wedding in her tennis dress.

Harriet, 45, chose a tennis ball green style with a windowpane check pattern by royally-approved designer Emilia Wickstead, who created Sperling's exquisite lace wedding gown. I would need buckets of black feathers and creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli on speed dial to recreate Gigi Hadid's Balenciaga Fall 2026 Couture runway look. On Wednesday, July 8, the tennis championships shared an Instagram Reel featuring Princess Kate chatting in the stands with former tennis players Tim Henman and Debbie Jevans—and in the video, Kate shared some of the secrets behind her recent charity climbing challenge.

Netflix's Better Late Than Single is back to bring another dose of fresh air into TV's dating show landscape. The Korean reality show debuted last year, with a refreshing concept centered on the 모태솔로 (which the show translates as an "eternal single"). Cast members in search of their first love story underwent makeovers ranging from wardrobe overhauls to communication coaching, before arriving at the "Solo Village" on Korea's Jeju Island. Choi Hyun-seo, 27, describes herself as a major otaku (an anime and manga fan); her favorite character is Toushirou Hijikata from Gintama. Since she went to arts school, she says she hasn't had a chance to meet men in real life, but she became interested in dating in her mid-20s after meeting a man who resembled one of her favorite characters. But she also says that guys don't tend to like her mellow, low-energy personality, and that guys have considered her a dongsaeng, or little sibling. She describes her "ideal 2D man" as someone with dark hair, cat-like eyes, and a serious personality.

Lee Han-ju

Lee Han-ju, 27, is a Korean medical doctor who uses acupuncture, herbal medicine, and Chuna Manual Therapy. She passed on applying to Better Late Than Single season 1, but she changed her mind after a year of failed blind dates and group dates. Though she enjoys drinking with friends, she admits that she has been rejected before due to her bluntness, such as a time she called a date a "man-whore" after he kept trying to brush her hair back. She also says that she's into pretty boys who look like K-pop idols, with a slight bad-boy edge.

Ahn Seung-hyun

Ahn Seung-hyun, 30, applied for the show after watching season 1 with a friend. He says that he feels he's falling behind because his friends are getting married. He also tends to ramble and trip over his words when nervous, so he works with a communication coach before entering the Solo Village.

Kim Soo-hyun

Kim Soo-hyun, 28, is at the age where her family is pestering her about dating and marriage. (Her mother even briefly hijacked her call with the producers.) Though her mother and sisters are quite nosy, Soo-hyun is confident that she'll be able to meet someone through the show.

Choi Hyuk-joon

Choi Hyuk-joon, 31, admits that he may be over-cautious about dating, after having his heart broken by an unrequited first love in college. His makeover consists of meeting with a dating coach, who encourages Hyuk-joon to be more proactive and drop the "dismissive-avoidant mask" he uses as a defense mechanism. Hyuk-joon also undergoes voice training to make his voice a bit deeper.

Yes, Spider-Man: Brand New Day and The Odyssey hit theaters within days of each other. But each press tour has highlighted its own style universe, thanks to Zendaya and image architect Law Roach. On July 7, however, Zendaya's intricate mask at The Odyssey premiere in Paris finally webbed the two aesthetics together.

Whether she's promoting The Odyssey or Spider-Man, Zendaya barely gives her fanbase a second to breathe. By the time they process her latest red carpet look, she's back where she belongs, stealing the show in an on-theme design.

24 hours after her hours-old Schiaparelli Couture gown dropped jaws, Z outdid herself in her second vintage find for The Odyssey. (Her Spider-Man: Brand New Day era also has two archival looks under its belt.) Zendaya and Roach tracked down a little white dress and a helmet-like mask from Givenchy Spring 1997 Couture, the latter created in collaboration with Philip Treacy.

Zendaya's 28-year-old mask looked made for her character, Athena, goddess of war. Spiraling floral motifs cascaded from the headpiece's triangular, gravity-defying peak, past her curly bixie cut, before covering 70 percent of her face. Its stand collar, ultra-padded shoulders, and skintight pencil skirt continued her Odyssey press tour's white color story. Then, elongated, knee-sweeping sleeves dramatized the LWD's sleek silhouette.

To finish, Zendaya slipped into her Jessica McCormack engagement ring, a few diamond bands from Tiffany & Co., and stark white Christian Louboutin "So Kate" stilettos, of course.

Speaking to Heart Bingo Online, McGrady used the example of Prince William’s favorite ice cream to show how “relaxed” it was at Kensington Palace versus Buckingham Palace.

When William had a craving for ice cream, it was available to him at the press of a button at Buckingham Palace, McGrady shared, but it entailed a rather long wait.

“When I worked for The Queen, Prince William loved dark chocolate and asked for chocolate ice cream,” McGrady said. “The Queen would press a button, the page would come, she’d ask for the ice cream, and it triggered a long chain: head chef, pastry chef, silver pantry, glass pantry, linen room. Finally, 20 minutes later, William got his homemade ice cream presented to him.”

However, Diana ran a more casual kitchen environment. “At Kensington, it was much more relaxed,” McGrady said. “William would walk into the kitchen and say, ‘Darren, can I have some chocolate ice cream, please?’ I’d say, ‘Help yourself.’”

McGrady continued that William would “grab Haagen-Dazs chocolate chip, that was his favorite, open it, and sit in the windowsill eating it.” Princess Diana was also known to have a kitchen catch-up with Darren and the rest of the staff, often hanging out for snacks and gossip.

As for Queen Elizabeth, the former chef said that the late royal “had a sweet tooth and loved dark chocolate, especially anything over 60 percent cocoa,” adding, “Any dessert with chocolate on the menu was sure to be chosen.”

King Charles, on the other hand, isn't so much a cocoa fan. “Charles doesn’t like chocolate, and goes more for the fruit options,” McGrady revealed. “He would much rather have an orange olive oil tea cake or banana bread.”

Queen Mary of Denmark and her 15-year-old daughter Princess Josephine proved that mother/daughter dressing never gets old as they stepped out in coordinating outfits ahead of the royal family's annual summer holiday. During their outing, the family met plenty of members of the public, including a furry friend with royal ties. The Danish royals own two border collies, Grace and Coco, and Queen Mary had previously met Coco's father, Eagle, during a 2024 visit to the island of Funen.

Eagle's owner was also there in Graasten on Monday, and all five members of the royal family enthusiastically greeted the border collie, who bears a striking resemblance to their own pup back home. Perhaps Eagle can get his own blazer for their next run-in.

Jennifer Lopez's return to Paris Haute Couture Week keeps surprising me. First of all, she hasn't attended a single Fall 2026 fashion show yet, jumping from one mysterious meeting to another. On July 6, I was equally stunned to see a T-shirt dress made her velvet skirt so summery.

J.Lo has been testing different textures all summer long, including glossy leather, stretchy spandex, gravity-defying feathers, and fluid silk organza. Prince Harry arrived in London on Monday, July 6 amid the ongoing drama surrounding his accommodations at Buckingham Palace, and on July 7, he received the news that he’d lost his High Court privacy case against Associated Newspapers, the publisher of the Daily Mail and the Mail on Sunday.

The Duke of Sussex was joined by six other claimants in the suit, including Sir Elton John and Elizabeth Hurley, and all 97 allegations made against Associated Newspapers were dismissed. Prince Harry appeared in court in January during the trial, during which the duke and his fellow claimants accused the publisher of unlawful information gathering from 1993 to 2011.

Harry and the other claimants alleged that the Daily Mail and the Mail on Sunday had used tactics such as phone hacking and bugging vehicles and homes in order to gain information for stories.

Per the Daily Mail, the judge’s ruling included comments on Prince Harry’s testimony, with Justice Nicklin stating, “it was apparent that he wished the court to understand the personal impact of the matters in issue. At times, this led him beyond giving factual evidence into advancing arguments on the issues.”

“As I indicated to Prince Harry at the time, that is not uncommon: many litigants feel a strong instinct to argue their case themselves,” the judge added. “Overall, this did not affect the quality of Prince Harry’s evidence, which I accept. As with each of the claimants, Prince Harry has limited evidence to give on the contentious matters in dispute.”

While speaking during an Invictus Games event at Chatham House shortly after the verdict was issued, the Duke of Sussex appeared upbeat as he joked about air conditioning and praised the “unconquered spirit” of Invictus athletes in a video shared by People's Simon Perry. Prince Harry will head to Birmingham, England later this week to celebrate one year until the 2027 games, which will be held in the city.

A statement from Associated Newspapers called the victory “a magnificent vindication of the Daily Mail’s journalism” and “an overwhelming victory for the Daily Mail and its journalists, and for a free press generally.” The Duke of Sussex's team has yet to issue a statement.

Legendary showrunner Mara Brock Akil has spent the past three decades creating TV shows that make Black women feel seen in all their humanity, ambition, and complexities. But for a story she hoped to tell but felt didn’t make sense on screen, the Girlfriends and Forever writer turned to literary fiction.

Brock Akil recently released The Revelation of Dionne Daphne, her debut novel about a magazine editor in early '90s N.Y.C. who's introduced while reeling from the end of her relationship with the man she thought she would marry. But when he shows up on her doorstep six months later with life-changing news, Dionne must face the trauma she has buried since her childhood.

Brock Akil explains to Marie Claire that writing Dionne for the page offered a medium that could “hold the full weight” of the character’s interiority, without compromise. “Television is a collaborative art form, and I love it deeply, but collaboration means negotiation—and what I was uncovering inside Dionne's life, the decades of shame and secrets that quietly authored her every choice, I wasn't willing to negotiate on that,” she says. “The novel let me hold all of it at once, without interruption.”

Brock Akil has always drawn from real-life experiences in her writing—but her debut novel is said to be her most personal story yet, as it examines the cultural baggage of past generations who often buried their pain under a perfect veneer. Dionne Daphne explores what ruminates beneath a Black woman's pursuit of perfection and shows the reader what can be found on the other side of self-discovery.

“Dionne hides behind a carefully crafted mask, but eventually she has to stand in the rubble and confront the messy parts of herself,” Akil explains. “What I love about her is that she's not a cautionary tale and she's not a redemption arc. She is a woman who understands she can no longer outrun her storms, that it’s better to be engulfed by them to be made whole; that is the revelation.”

To coincide with the release of her highly anticipated novel, which hit shelves on June 30, we asked the author to share which other books inspired it, from classic Black literature to recent bestsellers.

Royal nicknames are an endless source of fascination, with everyone from Queen Elizabeth (a.k.a. Lilibet) to Prince George (PG Tips) going by some adorable aliases. But when it comes to Queen Camilla, she has a rather unexpected nickname, according to royal author Gyles Brandreth.

Writing in his biography of the late Queen, Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait, Brandreth shares that King Charles “sometimes calls” his wife Camilla “Mehbooba,” noting the nickname is “Urdu for ‘my beloved.’”

Urdu is the official language of Pakistan and is also commonly spoken in India, a country Charles has a deep affinity for and has visited 10 times since 1975.

The King has even called Queen Camilla by her Urdu pet name during public speeches, like when he attended an event for the British Asian Trust in 2022.

“I cannot quite believe it is almost two years to the day that both my mehbooba and myself were able to be with all of you,” he told the crowd at the time.

Although King Charles doesn't speak fluent Urdu, he's proficient in French and can speak conversational German and Welsh, along with having knowledge of the Scottish Gaelic and Greek languages.

As for Queen Camilla's nickname, she also has another unusual one, although King Charles reportedly didn't care for it. According to royal biographer Robert Hardman (via the Daily Mail), some friends and family started calling her “Lorraine,” a play on the French word for Queen, “la reine,” when it seemed she'd never become Queen. “She always saw the funny side of that—even if Prince Charles did not,” a friend said.

As a busy mom of toddler daughter Athena, Lady Kitty Spencer might not hit the town as often as her younger twin sisters, Amelia and Eliza Spencer. But the 35-year-old daughter of Princess Diana's brother, Earl Spencer, made a stylish appearance in the South of France over the Fourth of July weekend while attending a dinner party and brunch for Aquazzura and Net-a-Porter.

If royal watchers (and the media) are feeling confused over Prince Harry’s visit to the U.K., it’s no wonder. First, representatives confirmed that Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet were coming to see King Charles for the first time since 2022. Then they weren't, and now the children may or may not come to Britain later this week. Regarding where Harry was planning to stay, Buckingham Palace has presented a different version of events than the Duke of Sussex’s representative—and as Queen Elizabeth once famously stated, it appears “recollections may vary” about the accommodation offered to the royal.

On Monday, July 6, multiple outlets reported that Prince Harry had accepted his father King Charles’s offer to stay at Buckingham Palace while visiting London this week, with Prince Harry’s spokesperson claiming that The King’s offer had been withdrawn after he had confirmed he’d be staying at the royal residence.

But sources at Buckingham Palace say that Prince Harry didn’t respond to the invitation by the deadline he was given, meaning they weren’t able to accommodate him with such little notice. As the Telegraph’s royal editor, Hannah Furness, wrote, “Buckingham Palace is not available on lastminute.com.”

It's understood that the Duke of Sussex rejected his father's office to stay at Buckingham Palace on Saturday after back-and-forth about security concerns, but then, as Furness put it, “changed his mind” before arriving in London on July 6.

Staffing requests had not been arranged in anticipation of Harry staying at the palace, with the royal editor noting, “The lack of courtesy to staff making such arrangements has raised eyebrows, as has the continued impression that the Duke considers the palace unsuitable for his needs.”

A court ruling about Prince Harry's privacy lawsuit is due to arrive Tuesday, presenting a tricky constitutional situation for The King, since he can't appear to be compromised in the litigation. The Duke of Sussex is understood to have secured his own security arrangements for his family during the trip after his request was denied by the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures.

Prince Harry is visiting London ahead of his visit to Birmingham for the One Year to Go celebrations surrounding the Invictus Games, and is reported to meeting with various charities close to his heart.

Princess Kate has been dubbed The Children's Princess for her affinity with young people, and the future Queen expertly handled one interaction as she spent the day meeting patients at Evelina London Children's Hospital on July 6.

Dressed in the same white Suzannah shirt dress that she wore to Wimbledon in 2019, the Princess of Wales leaned forward to speak to one little boy in a video shared by Hello! magazine on Instagram. When 10-year-old Ejran asked if Kate was The Queen, she smiled and said "No, I am the Princess of Wales," telling the cardiac patient that she had come to witness the "amazing work" happening at the hospital.

The Princess of Wales has been patron of Evelina London since 2018, and she told Ejran that she was happy to meet "special children, very brave children like yourself."

In particular, the late monarch apparently had a wicked sense of humor and many of her quips have been documented by royal biographers. For instance, when a former courtier turned down the chance to visit Balmoral with The Queen, she had a fairly brutal response.

In his book, Elizabeth II: In Private. In Public. Her Story, royal expert and biographer Robert Hardman shared, "A senior courtier was invited for a weekend at Balmoral but had to explain that he was already hosting a house party at home."

According to Hardman, Queen Elizabeth responded by saying, "Well, I won't be asking you again." Of course, most people would be horrified to be on the receiving end of such a comment from the literal monarch.

The biographer explained where Queen Elizabeth acquired her acerbic wit: "It was a dry, regal humor that she had inherited from her parents."

Hardman also noted that the late Queen "would not take herself too seriously."

Per the royal biographer, "A close aide fondly remembered how, late in life, she had a fit of giggles trying (and failing) to help a butterfly out of the window of her study at Balmoral."

He continued, "We need only look back to her Olympic appearance with James Bond in 2012 and her Paddington Bear Jubilee encounter in 2022 to realize how few, if any, world leaders would stoop to taking part in a comedy skit, let alone pull it off."

It seems that Queen Elizabeth truly was one of a kind and that included her penchant for delivering decidedly brutal comebacks.

Princess Kate recently completed the National Three Peaks Challenge to raise funds and awareness for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. As well as sharing her own insights about taking part in the activity, the Princess of Wales shared photos of her three children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—who greeted her wearing matching outfits.

The Princess of Wales underwent the physical challenge, which involved climbing three mountains in the space of 24 hours, alongside her brother James Middleton. Upon completion, Kate's husband, Prince William, their three children, and Kate's parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, were all present to celebrate the victory.

Notably, Princess Charlotte and her two brothers all wore dark jeans with trendy sneakers for their mom's emotional return.

In some of the photos, it appears as though Princess Charlotte was overcome with emotion when reuniting with her mom. When the young princess seemed to burst into tears, Princess Kate gave her a huge hug.

She also noted that she was taking part in the "National Three Peaks Challenge, not simply as a physical endeavor but as a chance to explore life beyond diagnosis and to give something back."

He continued, "My son was there too, so I've seen it quite recently. You're very, very privileged to go there and there are all sorts of amazing things you can do."

Discussing the real benefits of attending Eton College, Lowther-Pinkerton explained, "[Y]ou can do anything you want. And they have these amazing societies—debating societies, history of art societies, where incredible people come down. Now that is a real privilege."

Lowther-Pinkerton—who previously served at Princess Kate and Prince William's private secretary—also noted, "I'm not saying this to lecture poor old George, but I'm saying if anybody goes to that sort of place, then you've got to take the opportunity to live it."

He continued, "And actually, dare I say, you've got to then realize how lucky you've been, and you've got to pay back in some way. Whether it's through public service, the military or whatever, you've got to pay back. But it is a great privilege, and you don't want to waste it."
