For Cynthia Erivo, the days of typical press tours are over. Wicked has changed the way she views promotional dressing for good. Now, her approach is full method mode or bust. On February 17, Erivo celebrated Dracula's opening night in an elongated leather coat, color-matched to the project's blood red playbill.

After a month of rehearsals spent transforming into Bram Stoker's vampire, Erivo looked every bit her on-stage character at the post-show party—minus the fangs, of course. Stylist Jason Bolden—the same creative behind her Wicked and Wicked: For Good press looks—dressed Erivo in a black turtleneck bodysuit as the outfit's base. Its only purpose was to spotlight the layers on top, including the main event: a shoulder-padded, ankle-grazing coat.

Every element—from the slim lapels and pocket square to the single-breasted bust—was molded from buttery-soft lambskin leather. Slightly oversize sleeves added even more visual interest to the coat's already-cinched waist, held together by one lone button. When closed, it mimicked the sealed-shut look of Dracula's cloak, right before the monster flings it back to attack a victim.

You might assume the coat is Erivo's outfit, but the shoes beneath its cape-like closure deserve a close-up, too. The Tony Award winner stacked knee-high leather boots over her catsuit's skintight leggings. Each ribbed shaft matched the blood red hue of her coat to a T. Even the pointed platform soles—her signature stiletto silhouette since long before Wicked—continued the Dracula-centric color palette.

The designer behind Erivo's coat and boots remained a mystery at pub time. But Givenchy's $2,350 Mini Pinch Bag took no time at all to ID. (The widely-available Deep Red shade couldn't have complemented her trench better.)

Carrying creative director Sarah Burton's debut handbag at Givenchy suggested her outerwear boasted matching tags. Plus, Look 23 in the Spring 2026 show features the same luscious, crimson-colored leather, except in mini dress form. If Burton claims the coat, it would signal a surprisingly opaque detour from her recent naked dress series, as seen on Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Lawrence.

Even so, there's a high chance she sourced Givenchy. The atelier dressed Erivo for 2025's Met Gala and Governors Awards. She even gained access to Givenchy's archives for the 2025 SAG Awards and Academy Awards Nominees Dinner. She pulled a metallic Fall 1997 Couture gown and a green Spring 1998 Couture skirt set, respectively.

Despite the color red's legacy in the world of Wicked (Dorothy's ruby slippers, of course), it didn't earn even a supporting role in Erivo's latest press tour. Green and black—witchy shades straight out of Elphaba's wardrobe—grounded her style streak in method dressing. Still, she did flaunt a pair of crimson Christian Louboutin pumps from time to time. Clearly, Erivo was reserving her bloodiest selects for Dracula.

It's not every day that Cynthia Erivo portrays 23 roles in London's West End production of Dracula. Her once-in-a-lifetime, one-woman show is summoning everyone to The Noel Coward Theatre, even Florence Pugh. On February 17, Erivo's Dracula hypnotized the actor into ending her 10-month red carpet hiatus, with fresh-off-the-runway Patou as her plus-one.

Two weeks after Patou presented its Fall 2026 collection, the closing look landed in the hands of Pugh's stylist, Rebecca Corbin-Murray. It was the perfect blend of gothic and glamorous for a ticket to Dracula's opening night. The Don't Worry Darling actor posed for photographers in Patou's carpet-grazing shift dress, featuring cap sleeves and a sleek mock neck. Victorian-era elements continued with two-tone black fabric, featuring less-than-average cutouts from neck to hem. Pugh has been a Patou girl since 2023, so she had first dibs on artistic director Guillaume Henry's final runway show. (Not a single celebrity sourced the 42-piece line before Pugh, though Henry stepped down just 11 days after its Paris debut.) Before his last Patou presentation, he described his Fall 2026 woman as "medieval cool," hence the dress's mid-battle velour motifs. It seems the Parisian designer purposely ended the show with a funeral-worthy dress, a farewell to his eight-year run at Patou's helm.

While the dress signaled the end of Patou as we know it, Pugh's Dracula styling confirmed her long-awaited return to red carpets. Her last step-and-repeat was at the April 30, 2025, premiere of Thunderbolts. She arrived at Marvel's New York City premiere in a custom leather dress from Loewe. Similar to her Patou slip, Pugh's midi began with a high-neck bodice, minus the cap-sleeves. A thigh-high slit revealed matching black Christian Louboutin pumps.

With that said, don't expect Pugh to embark on a Margot Robbie-level press tour anytime soon. Her next project, Netflix's East of Eden, has yet to narrow down an exact release date this year. Judging by the Dracula select, her East of Eden attire could spotlight the best of Fall 2026 designs. In the meantime, Pugh in weeks-old Patou will tide photographers over until her next press run, whenever that may be.

Tate McRae wasn't the only nominee decked in custom Balenciaga on Grammys night. Creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli dressed Cynthia Erivo on February 1, too, just not at the 2026 Grammys. Instead, the Balenciaga-wearing Wicked star accepted a 2026 Critics' Circle Film Award all the way in London.

Erivo spent the latest awards season Sunday at The May Fair Hotel, where she accepted The Derek Malcolm Award for Innovation. It's only right she delivered an innovative red carpet look, courtesy of Balenciaga's atelier. (She and Ariana Grande won a 2026 Grammy for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance around the same time, though neither attended the actual ceremony.) What started as a strapless, bone-in bustier stretched into a delicately-draped column skirt, which became droopier with each cascading row of ruching.

Last summer, the fashion girl-beloved chocolate brown tint competed for It shade of the season on Spring 2025 runways including Isabel Marant, JW Anderson, LaQuan Smith, and more. If anyone can extend the shelf life of the Hershey-ish color trend, it's the Wicked Witch with several chocolate gowns in her post-Wicked archive. Plus, Spring 2026 lines were stocked with complementary tones, including in Elie Saab, Vetements, Ferragamo, and Saint Laurent's shows.

Former Valentino lead Piccioli couldn't create a simple brown dress even if he tried. This time, he Piccioli-ified the otherwise understated silhouette with curved feather trim along her corseted waist: a consistent motif throughout his debut 53-piece line. Erivo's in particular created bustle-like height above her bum. Then, a vertically-stitched strand cascaded down the skirt's center. That way, it flowed from side-to-side with each pose.

Knowing Grande and Roach, it's on display in her mansion now that Wicked has wrapped.

As the rest of us were filling our plates and getting into political arguments with our relatives, Cynthia Erivo was throwing a 'fit—three, to be exact.

The Wicked: For Good star ended her press tour last week, but when it comes to serving looks, she didn't pause for a second. On the contrary, Erivo continued right on serving looks, styling several menswear-inspired ensembles the week of the release. Naturally, when this year's Thanksgiving celebrations rolled around, the actor came armed with three more stylish fall 'fits.

On Nov. 27, Erivo was the star of this year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. She performed several songs for the cameras, dressed head to toe in plush marsala (the unofficial color of the wine-heavy holiday). She layered dual faux fur trench coats over a matching burgundy turtle neck, all from Max Mara.

She finished the monochromatic moment with a wide-brim hat and bedazzled platform boots in the same rich hue. The only part of her outfit not on the wine-colored beat, was Erivo's cherry red belt.

Following her performance, the actor pivoted to another color story entirely. The second outfit was equally monochromatic, but highlighted shades of cool-toned gray, instead.

On top of that, she wore another statement belt (this time in black) and a shearling-lined coat, which fell all the way to the floor. The element of color-contrast here came in the form of tan suede red-bottoms from Louboutin.

Erivo closed out the day in yet another cozy-chic winter look. She reprised her wide-brim hat, styling it with a paisley printed silk scarf. Her outerwear of choice was a plaid trench coat. She cinched it with the matching belt, effectively covering everything except her white-bright platform booties.

It's Wicked Week in New York City, before the highly-anticipated sequel hits theaters on Friday. On November 19, Ariana Grande passed the sartorial torch to Cynthia Erivo, who delivered a three-part masterclass in movie star style.

The Oscar nominee's night began behind-the-scenes at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon with a polished pre-show set. Stylist Jason Bolden dressed her in a a scene-stealing leather trench coat. The shoulder-padded piece was as suave as it was butter-soft—lambskin leather layered the military jacket-esque epaulettes and oversize lapels. Erivo pulled the fitted coat over a Wicked Witch-worthy turtleneck and an elongated midi skirt made entirely of luxe leather. The black midi stretched to Erivo's ankles, revealing her sky-high PVC platform pumps.

Both Wicked press tours displayed Erivo's affinity for statement accessories—a streak that will no doubt continue when this promo cycle ends for good. This time, the Bayswater Tote from Mulberry—a Brit-beloved brand—made the cut. The dark gray top-handle bag rings up for $1,485.

Once it was time to film The Tonight Show, Erivo traded her winter outerwear for a fresh-off-the-runway Schiaparelli suit-inspired skirt set. Its bubble-like shoulder pads and matching headpiece first debuted in Daniel Roseberry's Spring 2026 collection at Paris Fashion Week. Erivo pulled the hat off with ease—a challenge she's aced before.

Last November, while promoting Wicked, she wore a feather duster-inspired topper. With help from a well-meaning fan, she recently reunited with the once-lost Fall 2024 Couture hat on this year's promo trail.

Some stars head straight home after an after-hours appearance, but not Erivo. Like Grande, she gifted fans one last fashion girl 'fit before calling it a night. In a styling twist, Erivo paused Elphaba-esque fashion for a major menswear co-ord.

First, the actor layered a white button-down underneath an oversize bomber-blazer hybrid. It mirrored the epaulettes and collar seen on her initial leather trench. Next, wide-leg trousers continued the beige color story. A navy polka-dot tie married the two suit selects together. To finish, the aforementioned Mulberry bag made its grand return.

Wicked Week may be nearing its end, but it was a treat while it lasted. The night prior, Grande joined Fallon on The Tonight Show in her oldest vintage pull yet: another anti-Glinda black gown from the 1930s. On Nov. 17, Michelle Yeoh stopped by NBC studios in a bold bra and matching skirt, courtesy of Givenchy Fall 2025. Clearly, Studio 6B was a destination for styling magic this week.

The day Wicked fans have dreaded since 2021 has tearfully arrived: the final Wicked: For Good red carpet premiere. Director Jon M. Chu's highly-anticipated sequel hits theaters this Friday, meaning the internet's favorite press tour is nearing its end.

But first: a New York City grand finale. Following stops in London, Paris, Singapore, and Saõ Paolo, Wicked: For Good landed just a subway ride away from the Gershwin Theatre, the birthplace of the Broadway musical. On November 17, the Upper West Side's Lincoln Center transformed into the Emerald City, down to the on-theme green carpet.

Before breaking down Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, and their co-stars' looks, let's take a trip down the yellow brick road to Wicked's last premiere in 2024. Almost a year ago to the day, the first film's promo tour ended at the NYC's Museum of Modern Art instead.

Grande and Erivo arrived arm-in-arm. Grande, for one, channeled Glinda in a bubble-hem, fuchsia pink gown, created just for her by Louis Vuitton. Erivo, on the other hand, chose a custom black ballgown from Dior, featuring a semi-sheer turtleneck bodice. After three back-to-back black gowns, Grande blended the surprising shade with Glinda pink in a two-tone ballgown. Fans assumed it was another impressive archival pull from the mind of Law Roach, with a delightful tie-in to The Wizard of Oz universe. However, the atelier behind the peplum corset and tulle skirt was Schiaparelli Haute Couture. Her pear-shaped diamond drop earrings were undeniably a Swarovski select. (She is a brand ambassador, after all.)

Erivo's stylist, Jason Bolden, did his big one at Wicked: For Good's NYC premiere. Thanks to Bolden, the multi-hyphenate walked the black carpet in custom Balenciaga by Pierpaolo Piccioli. The sculptural ballgown was every bit an Elphaba-inspired dream, from the leather long-sleeve turtleneck, to the curved fur bust embellishments. She even added Balenciaga's signature shield sunglasses for some fashion girl flair.

Erivo's custom Balenciaga gown came one week after the new creative director gifted Grande a Glinda-esque gown. However, the "thank u, next" singer's featured bubblegum pink sequins from top to bottom.

Michelle Yeoh

Madame Morrible, a.k.a. Michelle Yeoh, was a vision in a butter yellow ballgown at the Wicked: For Good premiere. The Givenchy Fall 2025 find felt surprisingly un-Wicked for her character, especially compared to her tornado-looking Iris Van Herpen gown in Singapore. However, the skirt-turned-gown's pastel tulle still would've looked right at home in the Emerald City.

Jonathan Bailey

If anyone can pull off a beanie on the red carpet, it's America's Sexiest Man Alive, Jonathan Bailey. He paired the winter staple with an all-black Loro Piana suit, curated for him by stylist Emma Jade Morrison. It felt like something his character, Fiyero, would wear in Oz, during the "serious" sequel.

Marissa Bode

Marissa Bode, who portrays Nessarose in the Wicked movies, looked ready for an evening out in Oz. Stylist Alexandra Mandelkorn outfitted Bode in a voluminous strapless gown—its emerald green silk as pigmented as ever. She filled the negative spade atop her décolletage with a green ribbon. A red poppy-inspired pendant dangled from each strand. Zoom in to appreciate her bedazzled Christian Louboutin heels, inspired by Dorothy's ruby red slippers.

Let us be glad, let us be grateful: The Wicked: For Good press tour has begun. On November 4, Cynthia Erivo and company jetted to Brazil for the sequel's first official premiere. A Glinda-ified Ariana Grande was noticeably absent from the red carpet, but Erivo held down the fort in Jean Paul Gaultier.

São Paulo's Suhai Music Hall transformed into the Emerald City for one wonderful evening. "What a dream to start this journey with you, Brazil," Erivo wrote on Instagram. It wasn't your regular Wicked screening with the entire leading cast, however. Erivo and Jonathan Bailey's arms were noticeably Grande-less—her flight was grounded last minute to address a "safety issue." The Grammy winner was "beyond devastated" to miss the soirée, but encouraged fans to "shower my incredible cast-mates with all of the love."

Brazilians certainly understood the assignment—the crowd erupted with cheers as soon as Erivo took center stage. Stylist Jason Bolden enlisted the help of new Jean Paul Gaultier creative director Duran Lantink to reimagine a Spring 2026 look. Bolden and Erivo paired its sculptural turtleneck with a never-before-seen drop-waist skirt.

Only one element of the crop top—the stiff stand collar—graced Erivo's décolletage. The rest of the sleeveless style literally defied gravity, including two curved busts separated by a collarbone-high slit. On the runway, the structured turtleneck debuted alongside low-rise leggings. The dark gray textile resurfaced lined the model's outer hips, knees, and calves, while a burgundy strand added dimension down the center.

Erivo, on the other hand, traded in the skintight bottoms for a drop-waist skirt. The same gunmetal wool stretched from the belted hip-hugger to a pleated hem. It cascaded out and down from the faux-waist—a striking silhouette she had yet to test during her Wicked run.

Erivo's creative liberties just kept coming. She left the model's hat to the side, the better to show off sparklers from David Webb: diamond Light Beam Earrings ($48,000), the Palace Bracelet ($136,000), and the White Tuxedo ring ($19,500).

Erivo isn't an official David Webb ambassador, but clearly, the brand considers her valued collaborator. The Tony winner has sparkled in David Webb diamonds since 2019.

Erivo's top—a standout style in Lantink's JPG debut—was just one of many headline-making moments. The 59-piece collection went viral for interpretations of human anatomy. So far, Emily Ratajkowski, Jodie Turner-Smith, and now, Erivo, have tapped the Spring 2026 collection for various red carpets. But not before adapting the structural silhouettes exactly how they'd like. If only Ariana Grande had been there to see Erivo's in person.

One of the best things about tuning into Wicked's two-year press run has been witnessing the blossoming friendship between Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. The two actors have bonded over portraying Galinda and Elphaba, respectively, in the film adaptation of the acclaimed Broadway musical, and if their status as best friends wasn't official before, it certainly is now because they just got matching tattoos in honor of Wicked: For Good.

For Good is the sequel to last year's Wicked (it's the film version of the Broadway show's second act), and it's set to premiere in theaters on Nov. 21. Over the weekend, Grande and Erivo celebrated the approaching theatrical release date by sharing a joint Instagram post featuring a behind-the-scenes photo of both of them on set. That was followed by a second photo of their hands, which revealed that the duo got matching "For Good" tattoos on their palms to really cement their bond. "Happy wicked month @wickedmovie ♡," the caption reads.

"For Good" is obviously a reference to the title of the sequel, but it's also the name of the final song in the show, a duet between Galinda and Elphaba in which they sing to each other about how their friendship has changed both of their lives for the better.

This actually isn't the only matching tattoo that Grande and Erivo have gotten over the course of filming Wicked. Erivo revealed during an interview with The New York Times last year that they "got many tattoos" together, including one of a poppy flower on their hands, referencing the poppy fields that are used to cast sleeping spells on certain characters in Wicked and The Wizard of Oz. The film's director, Jon M. Chu, also joked about advising against the cast getting any tattoos until after filming had officially wrapped—but, of course, Erivo and Grande didn't listen.

“I cautioned them to maybe wait to get any tattoos about the movie until AFTER they see it…but they opted to ignore me and got them on like days 3 of rehearsals,” he said.

At this point, there's no telling how many tattoos the duo has gotten together or when the "For Good" tattoo even officially happened, but I'm hoping we'll get to see more of them once the sequel officially premieres.

As evidenced by her Wicked press tour, Cynthia Erivo is no stranger to outfit changes. While promoting the musical phenomenon, she frequently wore multiple designer looks in under 12 hours. So, it's no surprise that she delivered a quick-change marathon as the host of the 2025 Tony Awards.

All while singing, dancing, and presenting awards, Erivo outdid herself at the Tonys in 11 different designs. With help from her longtime stylist, Jason Bolden, she secured a blend of custom and fresh-off-the-runway designs from Marc Jacobs, Schiaparelli, Valentino, and even Zac Posen's GapStudio. Divine diamonds from Marli's Lady Liberty and Twilight collections enhanced every single onstage outfit.

Before taking center-stage at Radio City Music Hall, the multi-hyphenate walked the red carpet in Schiaparelli Spring 2025 Couture. If you look closely enough, you'll see the rhinestones mimicked the shape of roses, while cartoon-ish feather cutouts cascaded down the ankle-length skirt.

Next, Erivo channeled Ariana Grande's Wicked character, Glinda, in a voluminous Marc Jacobs moment. Seen on the Spring 2025 runway, the hot pink midi dress was covered head to toe in oversized sequins. Meanwhile, her ankle-length skirt channeled the popular bubble-hem silhouette.

Always on board for a menswear-inspired 'fit, Erivo's next set took cues from the 2025 Met Gala dress code, "Tailored For You." On top, she layered a white button-down underneath a white Dolce & Gabbana suit jacket, adorned with statement lapels. Her undone satin bow tie upped the overarching masculine energy.

Marking her second velvet style of the night, the Tony Award winner next stole the show in a strapless peplum top and matching trousers, with a bejeweled cape overtop. The chocolate brown combo debuted on the Ashi Studio Spring 2025 Couture runway in late January.

While singing "Tomorrow" from Annie with Sara Bareilles, Erivo shined in two-tone sequins from Valentino Fall 2025. The shoulder-padded, long-sleeve dress was mostly black with the occasional metallic gold panel. It was a dramatic, yet demure choice during the livestream's "In Memoriam" section.

Just hours after e.l.f. announced it officially acquired Bieber's eponymous skincare label, Rhode, for $1 billion, the founder celebrated the news in L.A. She looked like a billion bucks in a Saint Laurent mini dress—a fitting selection for the brand ambassador.

Bieber's strapless design was custom (surprise, surprise). But lucky for me, there are similar micro-mini styles on the market. I popped on my highest heels, oval-shaped sunglasses, and voilà: my Bieber-core combo was complete.

Taylor Swift's Little Black Matching Set

Swift's nights out in New York are some of the year's most stylish soirées—whether or not her celebrity friends are on the guest list. On May 31, the Grammy winner grabbed dinner at Midtown's Monkey Bar with her close pal Selena Gomez. The Rare Beauty founder went with a monochrome Ulla Johnson suit. Then, Swift followed her lead in all-black attire. She wore head-to-toe Gucci, including a bejeweled skirt set. Minutes after the photos dropped, the two-piece sold out. So, I shopped these LBDs instead.

Jennifer Lawrence's Semi-Sheer Black Dress

Even though I'm infatuated by the sheer trend, I haven't given it a go myself yet. That's about to change, thanks to Lawrence's recent LBD.

On May 2, the Hunger Games alum was spotted in New York wearing Lemaire's transparent column dress. Complete with short sleeves, sheer viscose, and slits up each leg, the style was practically made with summer weather in mind. She accessorized it with a $30,000 The Row bag, but my trusty Aupen purse will do.

Rihanna's Fringe Black Dress

Off the red carpet at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, Rihanna ditched French Riviera fashion for a laidback LBD. Her fringe-embellished Khaite dress immediately earned a spot on my summer mood board. Once it was time to style it, I channeled my inner RiRi with naked shoes and Ray-Ban sunglasses.

Miley Cyrus's Ruched Black Dress

If my younger self could see me now, she'd be glad to learn Cyrus is still my fashion blueprint. My new favorite look of hers? A smocked mini dress from Saint Laurent. Once or twice every summer, the forecast surprises me with a slight breeze and cooler temperatures. I look in my closet of micro shorts and tank tops, and suddenly I have nothing to wear. Turns out, I just needed a sheer, long-sleeve style à la Cynthia Erivo. She sourced Balmain's Pre-Fall 2025 collection for her belted LBD, but these options from Cinq à Sept and Rebecca Taylor are just as wicked.

It seems Swift's not the only A-lister in her skirt set era. On May 30, Kate Hudson attended a Netflix event in a long-sleeve blazer top, plus the coordinating pencil skirt. Her polished two-piece is a summer-friendly option for more elevated events, perhaps a work party or a date night.

Pamela Anderson's Tweed Black Dress

Who says tweed is reserved for the winter months? Pamela Anderson just proved the charming fabric deserves a spot in my current rotation. The Last Showgirl star paired her Marc Jacobs LBD with sheer tights and pointy pumps, but I plan to summer-ify it with strappy sandals. I might even add a sun hat, if I'm feeling flirty.

Cynthia Erivo and Taylor Swift almost broke the internet when they recreated the famous "holding space" Wicked meme at the 2025 Grammys. Now, Erivo is opening up about how she ended up sharing a seat with the "Getaway Car" singer at the prestigious ceremony, and what it was like spending time with the tortured poet.

During an appearance on SiriusXM's The Morning Mash Up (via Entertainment Weekly), Erivo said of Swift, "She caused absolute mischief and it was hilarious and fun."

Recalling the start of the night, the Tony Award winner explained, "It took a really long time to get in because I feel very guilty if I miss people on the carpet, so I tried to do every interview and those interviews ran a little bit long." When Erivo finally made it into the ceremony, the event had already started, meaning she didn't have time to find her assigned seat.

The British actress elaborated, "I was trying to get to my seat and didn't have a lot of time to pass by, and Trevor Noah was over there doing his intro." According to Erivo, Swift spotted her predicament and told her, "Just come over here. Sit here."

Erivo continued, "So I was like, 'Okay,' and then just came and sat next to her and just waited."

Erivo's revelation about Swift causing "mischief" comes after the singer announced she'd purchased the master recordings of her first 6 albums. In a social media post sharing the news, Swift wrote, "To say this is my biggest dream come true is actually being pretty reserved about it." She continued, "I've been bursting into tears of joy at random intervals ever since I found out that this is really happening."

Last year, the Wicked press tour brought us endless pink and green outfits from stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, the "holding space for 'Defying Gravity'" meme, and lots and lots of theater kid energy. And while it really felt like a moment in time, it's not over. Because what's that flying in the western sky?! Why its the Wicked sequel, which is bringing with it another Wicked press tour. Wicked: For Good doesn't hit theaters until November 21, but Erivo and Grande have already teased their upcoming press tour... which is also providing press for the film, creating a sort of conundrum about what defines the start of a press tour. Anyway, while presenting an unreleased-to-the-public trailer for Wicked: For Good at CinemaCon on April 2, the actors made a promise about the new press tour—a promise they already admit they might not be able to keep.

"We can't wait to get back on the road again," Erivo said, as reported by People. Grande added that they "already have our tissues packed," but Erivo said, "I promise less waterworks this time, but I'm not sure we can live up to that."

Grande then told the crowd at the event for movie theater owners, "Me neither, but you've seen it, so you get it, right? You cried." Erivo explained that now that everyone has seen Wicked, they should understand why she and her co-star were just so emotional in all those interviews. "You cried. Don't lie. We know. We saw," she said. "And we thank you, and we also forgive you for the hard time you gave us for doing it."

As a refresher: Last year's press tour saw Grande and W become overwhelmed with emotion in various interviews, whether it was about their bond with one another, their feelings about the themes of the movie, or their response to equally emotional interviewers. It all came to a head during an interview with Out magazine reporter Tracy E. Gilchrist, who told the pair that people were "holding space" for the song "Defying Gravity". Erivo and Grande appeared deeply moved and responded with such sincerity that people—many people on the internet—were both confused and astounded. A meme was born.

It's safe to assume that—even if Erivo and Grande live up to their promise of fewer tears—that their second press tour is still going to bring it when it comes to fashion and feelings. As the lyrics to "For Good" go: "Who can say if the Wicked press tour changed us for the better/But because we knew it/We will be changed for good." Those are the lyrics, yeah?

We'd bet the 2025 Oscars broke a record for making the most people cry within the first five minutes of the ceremony. It undoubtedly inspired sobs from Wicked fans everywhere.

Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande kicked off the 97th annual Academy Awards on Sunday, March 2, with a gorgeous performance honoring not just Wicked but also the adaptations of The Wizard of Oz that came before it.

The show began with Grande, nominated for Best Supporting Actress, singing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," while standing inside a multicolored ray of light (courtesy of a screen effect). During the performance, she paid homage to the 1939 film in a glittering red gown evoking Dorothy's ruby shoes.

Then Erivo, nominated for Best Actress, emerged onto the stage for a rendition of "Home," from the Broadway musical (and subsequent 1978 film) The Wiz.

The pair completed the opening performance with their highly-anticipated rendition of Wicked's showstopper "Defying Gravity," beginning with both stars before Erivo completed the majestic song solo. By the final note, there wasn't a dry eye in all of the Dolby Theatre in L.A.

Tonight's performance marked the second year in a row that Wicked was represented at the Oscars, after Erivo and Grande presented the awards for Original Song and Original Score at the March 2024 ceremony.

Wicked: Part One, released in theaters on November 22, 2024, is nominated for 10 awards total tonight, including nods for both stars, as well as Best Picture, Best Original Score, Best Costume Design, Best Makeup and Hairstyling, Best Production Design, Best Visual Effects, Best Sound, and Best Editing.

Of course, fans know that Wicked mania is nowhere near over. The highly-anticipated second half of the epic story, Wicked: For Good, is set to come out on November 21, 2025.

While walking the red carpet, Jeff Goldblum, who portrays The Wizard in the films, teased what's to come in the second installment. "Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, Elphaba and Glinda, oh my gosh, will further thrill you and chill you and devastate you, yes." He also added of his character, "There might be some emotional complications and twists."

Jeff Goldblum didn't just show off his signature eccentric style on the Oscars 2025 red carpet—he delivered some carefully crafted non-spoilers about the upcoming Wicked sequel, too.

The actor, who stars as the Wizard of Oz himself in the film franchise, told ABC’s On the Red Carpet promised that Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo will "further thrill you and chill you and devastate you" in the sequel, which is slated for November.

"I don't want to be a tattletale or a spoiler," he continued before adding, "Well, I do something in it. I may be tuneful." Whether his "tuneful" moment has to do with the new song Erivo wrote for the sequel that brought people on set to tears, stay tuned.

His comments align with what director Jon M. Chu previously told Entertainment Weekly: "If Part 1 is about choices, Part 2 is about consequences."

Goldblum confirmed his character is indeed "involved" in the sequel and teased "emotional complications and twists" for the conclusion of the two-part musical epic. He spoke glowingly of his co-stars, calling Grande and Erivo "unbelievably fantastic and incomparable," while praising Chu's "fantastic" direction.

The Jurassic Park star admitted to his own emotional connection to the material. "Since I saw the stage show, I've been in tears and my heart broke wide open with love," he said.

As for his costars' Oscars style, Grande—who plays Glida in the movie—stayed true to her character in a pale pink Schiaparelli Couture confection, while Erivo—who plays Elphaba—stuck with the Wicked Witch's signature green in a velvet Louis Vuitton gown.

But I come bearing good news: We have another moment to think about until Wicked's second half drops into theaters: Erivo’s 2025 Oscars red carpet look. The actress just arrived on the carpet at the 97th Academy Awards looking positively Wicked—in a good way, of course.

Erivo, who is nominated tonight in the Best Actress category for her portrayal of Elphaba Thropp in the film adaptation, donned a voluminous dark forest-green Louis Vuitton dress with an exaggerated off-the-shoulder neckline, a spiky collar, and a structured, bubble-like skirt. Wicked costars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande seem to have developed an impenetrable friendship, which might just include copying each other's fashion choices. Erivo arrived at the 2025 BAFTAs red carpet without Grande, but the pop star's influence was very much evident in the actress's outfit details.

For the prestigious awards ceremony, Erivo wore a dramatic, floor-length custom Louis Vuitton gown styled by Jason Bolden made from white lace, and featuring a sheer breastplate. Having arrived wearing a long white coat over her shoulders, Erivo removed it to reveal her strapless gown and the sculptural breastplate attached to the bodice. In the clip in question, Noah recounts Beyoncé's win three years ago for Best Dance Album before listing her nominations at the 2025 Grammys. Behind him, Erivo and Swift sit together at a table and casually re-enact the viral "holding space" moment from the Wicked press tour.

Swift delicately grasped at Erivo's outstretched, perfectly-manicured fingers, calling back to a moment when Erivo's Wicked co-star, Ariana Grande, did the same during a joint interview the pair did with journalist Tracey E. Gilchrist for OUT magazine during the musical's press tour. The moment, which became known as the "holding space" moment, went viral and achieved meme status.

In the original "holding space" interview clip, Gilchrist talked to Erivo about the song "Defying Gravity," telling the actress that people were "really holding space" with the song's lyrics and "feeling power in that.”

In the clip, Erivo seems surprised by this fact, but says that even though she "didn’t know that that was happening," and added "that's really powerful—that’s what I wanted.”

At this point in the clip, Erivo turned to Grande, who was sitting next to her, and gave her a meaningful look, which prompted Grande to reach over and hold Erivo's fingers, presumably for support as both actresses seemed overwhelmed by the moment.

For her part, Grande later confessed to being confused in the moment.

“So I had no idea what any part of it meant,” Grande told Variety of the interview moment that went viral. “I didn't understand the first sentence."

After a whirlwind Wicked press tour with stops in Australia and Mexico City, Cynthia Erivo has just arrived on the red carpet at the 2025 Golden Globes in Los Angeles, California. Erivo’s ensemble is yet another on-brand look that furthers her A-list dressing agenda, and we have all the details of her certifiably “Wonderful” gown. It has just landed her a spot on our best-dressed list to boot.

Erivo worked with longtime stylist Jason Bolden to create the iconic look that will go into her red-carpet repertoire's best-of archives. The custom Louis Vuitton gown featured a deep V-neck silhouette and shimmering silver floral embroidery. A dramatic peplum silhouette and a sweeping ballgown skirt added to the statement-making print.

Louis Vuitton has been a go-to for Erivo over the last few months while promoting the film, and she's worn it to several premieres, including her stop in New York City. Many of her previous ensembles from the brand have come in shades of Elphaba-approved green, so this black number is an oh-so-chic change of pace. But the dramatic silhouette is still wholly reminiscent of Wicked's most dramatic character.

Her accessories included a stack of bejeweled hoop earrings (including options from celebrity-adored brand Foundrae) and a show-stopping ring.

As for her beauty look, Erivo landed on a soft-focus all-over glow created by makeup artist Joanna Simkin using Benefit Cosmetics. Full, thick lashes and a softly-lined matte lip that perfectly complimented her gown. Her tattoos, including an Elphaba-themed broom on her forearm, were on full display.

While her glam was kept simple and clean, Erivo's nails were anything but. The near-EGOT winner’s nails have taken center stage along the Wicked tour (and have landed her in some very awkward interview moments in the process), and tonight is no exception. Her crystal manicure, created using OPI shades by nail artist Mycah Dior, included an array of colors and outsized jewels—perfect for tonight's occasion.

Erivo is at the Globes celebrating her nomination in the “Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy” category. But she’s no stranger to the Globes, with three prior nominations in 2022 and 2020.

The Globes were held privately three years ago, so her only other red carpet look to date came in 2020 when she was nominated twice for her role in Harriet. She donned a black-and-white jewel-encrusted custom Thom Browne gown to celebrate the nominations, which, according to a post on Bolden’s Instagram, took over 800 hours of work to create. Her jewels—a full ear stack (her signature!) and a statement-making choker-style necklace—came courtesy of Bvlgari and cost over three million dollars.

File those rumors about a troubling salary gap between the stars of Wicked under "totally and completely false," because they've been very officially debunked.

Wicked stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande were paid the same for their work on the adaptation of the hit musical, according to The Hollywood Reporter, which reported that "multiple sources familiar with the situation" had confirmed the equality of the salary situation, in addition to an official statement from Universal formally debunking the rumor.

“Reports of pay disparity between Cynthia and Ariana are completely false and based on internet fodder. The women received equal pay for their work on Wicked,” a Universal spokesperson told THR, definitively putting the rumors to rest.

Rumors of a significant gap between the Wicked stars' paychecks made the rounds on TikTok and Reddit this week, with users discussing (and thereby spreading) unsubstantiated claims that Grande that was paid $15 million for her work in the film, while Erivo earned $1 million.

Although some news outlets picked up the story, The Cut reports that the rumors traced back to a site called Showbiz Galore, and pointed out that the original report on that website reads as being AI-generated and, well, worthy of healthy skepticism at best.

"All punctuation, capitalization, and lack of italics is Showbiz Galore’s," The Cut noted before sharing the bulk of the "reporting" from the original Showbiz Galore post, which read:

"Wicked is a Hollywood musical fantasy movie, Which is directed by Jon M. Chu. Movie Wicked is produced by Marc Platt and David Stone. Movie star Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum and Jonathan Bailey. This movie is based on the 1995 novel Wicked, which is written by Gregory Maguire. The movie Wicked is released on 27 November 2024 on theatre. Here is the Wicked Cast And Their Salary."

As for the actual pay gap rumors, the Showbiz Galore report includes the following statements (sans any punctuation, let alone details or sourcing): "Salary of Cynthia Erivo in Wicked is $1 Million" and "Salary of Ariana Grande in Wicked is $15 Million."

So, for the record, if you're currently asking yourself, "what is this feeling," the answer would be "complete and total confidence that this rumor about Wicked movie pay gap is one million percent false."

Dax Shepard has once again asked a question which he himself deemed to be "inappropriate," but thankfully Cynthia Erivo took it on the chin and gave him the most graceful response ever.

The Wicked star appeared on the Armchair Expert podcast with Shepard and Monica Padman for a two-hour conversation recently, and about halfway through the recording, the Idiocracy actor commented on Erivo's very long, very iconic nails.

"Can I ask you a really crazy question that's inappropriate?" he said. When the actress gave him permission, he began, "When you're wiping your butt..."

Erivo cut him off, "I knew you would ask that question!" She added, "Everybody asks that question," before explaining, "My answer is that nobody uses just their fingers to wipe their backside. You use tissue, correct? And you wipe!"

Shepard further enquired, "Does the tissue go on the tip of the fingernails, or do you try to get the tissue on the…" with Erivo telling him, "Pads of the fingers."

The dad of two said, "Okay, great, great, great. We’re getting somewhere. And then you’re just feeling the little tickle of the nails on the crack of your butt sometimes?"

Erivo told him, "No, because the tissue's there!"

Shepard then said that his technique if his nails were very long would be to make a "mitten" with the toilet paper, but Erivo revealed, "I fold."

Padman then piped up, "I bunch."

Shepard went on to ask if Erivo is annoyed by this question, especially since she gets it so often, and she said, "I get it. I'm annoyed by it. I'm, like, 'Come on, guys.' But I get it, but it's also, like, 'I'm a functioning adult, and I've never walked around smelling like, you know…'"

She continued, "Here’s the thing, there are people who do not have nails who need to check how they’re wiping."

When she's asked the question, Erivo added, "I’m like, 'I mean, I’m here! I’m dressed.'"

The Harriet actress always has the most beautiful, most intricate manicures, and makes sure to center them in her red carpet looks, such as when she showed up with not one but two stunning manis at the Mexico City Wicked premiere earlier this month.

The highly anticipated movie hits theaters on Nov. 22.

Cynthia Erivo was a hardcore nail art enthusiast long before landing her leading role in the Wicked movie, but the elaborate Elphaba-inspired manicures she's been sporting on this press tour have me under their spell. It started with the bejeweled green and burnt orange beetle shell manicure she wore to the launch of Wicked x OPI nail polish collection in New York City. Next came the mint green and black stiletto nails crawling with flames and serpents she wore to the Academy Museum Gala and the 2024 CFDA Awards in October. And I would be remiss not to mention the black lace-tipped nails she wore to the film's Sydney premiere, complete with silver cross charms and giant emerald gems.

So far, most of Erivo's witchy manicures have been the work of nail technician Rose Hackle, with whom the star has worked for five years. For Wicked premiere in Mexico City on Nov. 11, however, the Grammy Award-winning singer tapped 19-year-old Dior, a.k.a. Clawz by Dior: a Los Angeles-based nail artist whose client list also includes Olympians Jordan Chiles and Sha'Carri Richardson.

Arguably, it was Erivo's most nail-centric ensemble yet. Whereas her co-star Ariana Grande stepped out in an iridescent strapless ball gown, Erivo hit the yellow carpet in a hooded Thom Browne bolero jacket that literally had an extra set of hands growing out of the shoulders. Topping off the two-piece set was a black and green sequin strapless dress with an exaggerated, angular hip silhouette styled by Jason Bolden. Unlike the fabric faux hands that framed her face, which were adorned with pointy dark green tips, Erivo's actual hands were decorated with glittery blood red paint spills, sharp silver spikes, and ominous black swirls.

Erivo even channeled her love of nail art into the styling of her character, Elphaba: Wicked's green-skinned, sorely misunderstood protagonist.

“I knew I wanted her to have micro braids, and I knew I wanted her to have a full set,” Erivo previously told Marie Claire, calling those creative choices “a nod to my culture and a nod to the character."

Extravagant nails, she continued, will play an important role in both Wicked: Part One, out on Nov. 22, and Wicked: Part Two, which is due for release in 2025. In the first installment, Elphaba's nail journey begins with a makeover scene where she gets a sparkly set of black and metallic green nails.

“In the second movie, they're much longer, much more expressive," Erivo added. "We're playing with the marbling of it, we're playing with ombré...It’s a realization of the magic that she has."

Cynthia Erivo has been method dressing for the role of Elphaba in the highly anticipated Wicked movie for weeks. That said, her best look yet was actually designed for her hosting gig at the 2024 CFDA Awards. On Monday, Oct. 28, the British actor graced the event's white carpet in a custom black velvet mermaid gown with a dramatic sorcerer's hood. Dreamt up by Gap creative director Zac Posen, the dress was a pitch-perfect blend of Elphaba's soft goth aesthetics and Erivo's own sense of style, which tends to favor voluminous, sculptural silhouettes.

Erivo and stylist Jason Bolden accessorized the gown with burgundy eyeliner in a nod to the wine-red color trend, plus a yellow gold collar necklace featuring a jade green claw and a curled serpentine tail. The choker, which was designed for Tiffany & Co. by Elsa Peretti, retails for a whopping $21,000.

Her best accessories, though, were her long green, red, and black stiletto nails covered in flames, serpents, and gems. Created by nail artist Rose Hackle, Erivo originally debuted the set at the Academy Museum Gala on Oct. 19. Since then, it appears a couple of crosses were added to her ring fingers for dramatic effect. Although it's hard to say for sure without confirmation from Hackle herself, I'd wager several of these nail shades came from the Wicked x OPI nail collection. Erivo became a global ambassador for the brand about a month before the collection's drop, so it's safe to say most of the polishes you'll see her wearing for the foreseeable future are OPI.

Although she's not American, it was still an apt choice to have the Tony, Emmy, and Grammy award-winning singer host the 2024 CFDA Awards.

“As a born and bred Londoner, I can safely say that the U.K. has its own sense of style, but when I moved to New York almost 10 years ago, I was welcomed into the open arms of the New York fashion industry,” Erivo explained in a press release ahead of the event. “I was blown away by its ingenuity and its flair, and I felt right at home. Style in America has clearly influenced me in the years that would follow my arrival and style in New York has held me in the warmest of embraces."

Indeed, whether it's a fantastical hooded number or the high note in "Defying Gravity," there seems to be nothing Erivo can't pull off.

As part of her birthday celebrations, Kim Kardashian hosted a Wicked watch party for the ages—with a little help from stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, who set up the whole thing and were on hand to celebrate with the Kardashian clan.

The SKIMS founder shared videos and photos from the evening on her Oct. 22 Instagram Stories, starting with the over-the-top décor. The entrance to the watch party was flanked by tons of pink balloons and flowers, plus Wicked posters, while the inside was decorated in thematic pink and green soft furnishings and finishing touches.

"I just came home. Look what we’re watching tonight," Kim narrated, adding, "Look what Cynthia and Ariana set up for us. My gosh. I’ve never been more excited."

Cynthia Erivo has condemned "offensive" fan edits of the Wicked movie poster.

On her Instagram Stories on Oct. 16, the actress reposted fan art originally posted by the account @wickedmexicofans, which is an edited version of the official movie poster. The edits modified the real poster to make it look like the Wicked Broadway poster, in which Elphaba's eyes are covered as Glinda whispers in her ear.

Alongside the edits, Erivo wrote, "This is the wildest, most offensive thing I have seen I have seen equal to that awful AI of us fighting, equal to people posting 'is your ***** green?'

She continued, "The original [Broadway] poster is an ILLUSTRATION. I am a real life human being, who chose to look down the barrel of the camera to you, the viewer ...because without words we communicate with our eyes.

"Our poster is an homage not an imitation, to edit my face and hide my eyes is to erase me. And that is just deeply hurtful."

In a second Story, Erivo posted the movie's actual poster with the words, "Let me put this right here, to remind you and cleanse your palette" along with two green heart emojis.

The movie's director, Jon M. Chu, reposted the actress' message with the words, "@cynthiaerivo is my superhero."

Ariana Grande just revealed exactly what cosmetic work she has and hasn't done—while hooked up to a lie detector.

The actress took Vanity Fair's lie detector test with her Wicked costar Cynthia Erivo, with the latter asking Grande, "You sing 'Popular' in our film. Did you ever get any work done to make yourself feel more popular?"

Grande was super excited to answer specific questions about cosmetic work, because she knew she was finally going to be able to put fan rumors to rest.

She answered "no" to having got her nose done or a boob job, and on the matter of a face lift, she said, "No. Not yet. I'm open."

The lie detector administrator confirmed that the star was being "truthful" on all counts, which delighted Grande to no end. "This is the best day of my life," she said. "Take that, you YouTube people!"

Asked about a fox eye lift, she said, "No, but I've discovered it through people who thought I did, and I said, 'Thank you.'"

"What about a chin implant?" Erivo asked.

"How do they do that? No!" Grande replied. "I've had fillers in various places and Botox, but I stopped like four years ago, and that is the extent. But also, like, in full support of all people who do these things. Work! Whatever makes women, men, non-gender-conforming people feel beautiful should be allowed! Why do we care?"

It's not the first time Grande has gotten candid about her use of Botox and fillers—and why she stopped getting them.

"[I’ve] had a ton of lip filler over the years and Botox," she said as part of Vogue's Beauty Secrets series in 2023. "I stopped in 2018 because I just felt so—too much. I just felt like [I was] hiding, you know?"

She continued, "I think of it as self-expression now and accentuating what is here. Our relationships to beauty are so personal. Like, we’re here talking about beauty secrets. Isn’t the secret that we all just want to feel our best and be loved?"

Echoing her words to Vanity Fair, she told Vogue at the time, "To each their own. Whatever makes you feel beautiful, I do support, but I know for me I was just like 'Oh, I want to see my well-earned cry lines and smile lines.' I hope my smile lines get deeper and deeper. And I laugh more and more, and I just think aging can be such a beautiful thing."

Wait a minute, does Ariana Grande... not believe in the moon landing?

The star took a lie detector test alongside her Wicked costar Cynthia Erivo for Vanity Fair, and she was asked some "dangerous" questions—one of which being whether she thought the moon landing was fake.

"Jesus Christ! What do you take me for?!" was the first thing Grande said to that. She then added, "No...? No!"

The person administering the lie detector, Stephanie, then said, "Inconclusive."

Erivo cracked up, saying, "That's hilarious!" She then asked again, "Do you think the moon landing is fake?"

Grande protested, "No, not till now! Not till Stephanie put that in me!"

But Stephanie twisted the knife, telling the two actresses, "The machine is showing deception."

The Harriet star then asked the Dangerous Woman singer whether she thought the Earth was flat, which of course she doesn't, but she still seemed out of sorts, with Erivo pointing that out.

Then it was Grande's turn to ask Erivo if she believes the moon landing is fake, to which the British actress calmly replied, "No, I don't," adding, "I've never, ever questioned it."

Grande then asked why there weren't more videos of people walking on the moon since so many people have been there now.

Still, the actress and singer made it clear that, though she has questions, she really doesn't believe the moon landing was fake. She cried, "I don't know why Stephanie f***ed me up like that! She really got me! Oh God, the whole world's gonna think that I think that! And I'm from Florida, you know what I mean? This is a nightmare! This is a nightmare!"

She then further protested that she definitely thinks the moon landing happened. Erivo then stepped in and told the camera, "Ariana Grande believes that the moon landing is real."

One X user reposted a clip of this whole ordeal, which has 1.5 million views at time of writing, with fans losing their minds over how funny the whole situation was.

Under the Eiffel Tower at the 2024 Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo weren't playing by the rules of someone else's style game.

While hundreds of athletes sailed down the Seine in their official uniforms—including Team USA in Ralph Lauren—the stars of Wicked ignored the sporty dress code and decided to method dress as their characters, Elphaba and Glinda the Good Witch, instead.

Working with longtime stylist Jason Bolden, Cynthia Erivo looked ready for the Emerald City in a custom deep green, strapless dress by Louis Vuitton. The high-shine satin number featured a corseted bodice and a full skirt with exaggerated, angular bustling at the hips. Erivo took her color-coordination seriously, matching her dress to a wide-brim, slanted hat, pointed-toe pumps, and a swirling green manicure.

Ariana Grande, meanwhile, tapped into Glinda the Good Witch's bubbly pink wardrobe. She and stylist Mimi Cuttrell pulled a Thom Browne dress with a high neckline, drop waist, and a demure bow detail. Grande accessorized with demure white gloves, pointed-toe pink heels, and Swarovski jewelry. The tiny bow on the front of her dress matched a hip-length ribbon tied to the back of her low bun.

For Grande and Erivo, it's not too early to start promoting their November film with their fashion. Ahead of Wicked's fall release, the pair have made several red carpet appearances in pink and emerald outfits referencing their characters.

We almost didn't get treated to Michelle Yeoh's appearance in upcoming movie Wicked, and apparently we have Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo to thank for her change of heart.

The Everything Everywhere All at Once star just appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and explained that she was originally dead set on refusing the role of Madame Morrible because it meant she would have to sing.

"I didn't know you could sing," Fallon told her after he brought up Wicked.

"Neither did I!" Yeoh fired back.

The actress recalled director Jon M. Chu calling her to offer her the role, and how excited she was until she looked further into it.

"I read the script. I call him, 'Jon, you realize she sings, right?' And he goes, 'Uh huh.' I don't sing! He's like, 'Eh, don't worry,'" Yeoh explained. "Then, the next day, I get this video, and I look at it, and it's like, 'Hi, Michelle. I just have two people here who really want to talk to you and tell you why you should be here.' And it was Ariana and Cynthia."

Grande and Erivo, who play Glinda and Elphaba in the movie respectively, told Yeoh that it was "imperative" she come on board.

"Imperative was the royal word," Yeoh continued. "Cynthia and Ariana are like angels—when you walk on and you hear them sing, it's like you've gone to heaven."

Before Wicked comes out on Nov. 27, Yeoh is starring in Netflix series The Brothers Sun, whose first season was released on Jan. 4. She continues to do great things!

"Something is not the same" for Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, and it's the new ink they've added to their bodies! Or rather, it's the same design for both of them, as the two Wicked co-stars got matching tattoos!

Wicked is the origin story of Glinda the Good and Elphaba the Wicked Witch before the Wizard of Oz, and follows their complicated relationship. Grande plays Glinda, and Erivo plays Elphaba, so it's only fitting that the two have become fast friends — and now ink buddies!

Grande shared a photo on her Instagram of the pair's hands on her Instagram story, revealing their matching tattoos. They both got "For Good" inked on their palms. This is the title of one of the duets their characters sing in the musical, and one of the most popular quotes of the musical.

The photo included the date of April 24th, 2023, which we assume to be when the stars got the tattoos.

Wicked: Part One is set to premiere on November 27, 2024, with the second instalment coming over a year later on December 25, 2025.

This is not Grande's first tattoo, far from it. It turns out that Grande has over 60 tattoos by now! She got the first one at eighteen years old. Am I the only person who was shocked by this? How are they not more noticeable? Looking back at photos, they're often displayed, and yet somehow I always missed them.

On her Instagram Story, she also posted a note discussing how this was "one of the most transformative, most challenging, and yet happiest and most special years of my life," further specifying that she had been "deeply misunderstood."

This note was placed over a photo of what appears to be two more tattoo prints, one of a bubble and the other of Glinda. The latter is Grande's character in Wicked, and so we love her commitment to the role. It's unsurprising given that Grande has spoken openly about how much she yearned for the role of Glinda.

The combination of revealing this tattoo now and the note suggests that perhaps this "For Good" quote is about more than just the song.

Now we'll have to wait and see if she got any other matching tattoos with Wicked co-stars... such as her new boyfriend, Ethan Slater?
