To end the year, Lipa wore oval-shaped nails with confetti nail polish that featured colorful, chunky glitter. Per Instagram, her nails were the work of London-based nail artist Michelle Humphrey.

It's not unheard of to wear glittery or shimmery nail polish around the holidays (New Year's Eve, specifically), but in 2026, the shimmery look isn't just reserved for special occasions. Celebrity manicurist Natalie Minerva previously predicted that glitter nail polishes will be go-to nail colors in the winter and spring, since wearing them is a great way to add some excitement to your nails and offset the gloominess and low energy of the season.

"There’s an edge to [shimmers] that I love," Minerva said. "It's a great color to wear on long or short nails." As the 2026 trend reports drop, Dua Lipa is giving fans a sneak peek of what will surely be this year's most popular trend. The "Dance the Night" celebrated New Year's like any fashion girlie: with an envy-inspiring outfit dump.

On Dec. 31, Lipa shared some of her best holiday looks. Among butter yellow knits and Santa-red suiting was a boho-esque ensemble of the chicest variety. Her outfit was comprised of all the traditional marks of the boho-chic aesthetic: billowing sleeves, lace trim, and, of course, Chloé's Paddington bag—the official mascot of boho style.

The handbag has been trending since its re-release last fall, returning from the vault with that same lock detail and a new-and-improved silhouette. While the original bag had a bulky shape that reflected the oversized handbag boom of 2005, it's new iteration has slimmed down dramatically. Modern versions have a streamlined look, with a trendy east-west frame and a $2,750 price tag to boot.

Lipa was dressed almost entirely in Chloé, wearing a $2,500 flouncy, puff-sleeve blouse with a lace-trimmed neckline, also from the brand. The only deviation to be seen was an ivory balconette bra, which doubled as an accessory, and the serpentine statement watch glimmering on her wrist.

The silver sparkler is recognizable to anyone in the fashion industry (and probably many outside of it, too). The pop star was wrapped in Bvlgari's iconic Serpenti Tubogas Watch, a favorite of A-listers, like Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, and Priyanka Chopra. Lipa's choice style wrapped thrice around her wrist and featured a diamond halo around the face. It rings in at a stunning $14,000.

For those keeping track, that's $19,250-worth of designer goods. A happy New Year, indeed.

In a 2024 game of "I Spy," Adidas Sambas would have been the easiest pair of sneakers to spot. But by 2025, rarer models stepped up in the rankings.

All year, celebrity sneakerheads traded best-sellers for pairs only recognized by eagle-eyed enthusiasts (or Google Image Search). "Styles like Adidas Sambas or Onitsuka Tiger’s Mexico 66 may be fan favorites, but they are also everywhere," StockX's Brendan Dunne, senior director of customer community and engagement, tells me over email. "That ubiquity pushed consumers to seek out new releases that have yet to see widespread adoption, or exclusive styles that feel more unique."

So in 2025, A-listers' biggest flex wasn't simply finding a sneaker that coordinated with their five-figure designer bag or off-the-runway outfit. It was tracking down a new or retro sneaker that hardly anyone else had.

In early September, Rihanna got her hands on circa-1998 Spike Turf Sneakers from Puma's collaboration with Jil Sander. The white trainers stood out for their cleat-like soles, contrary to the Puma Speedcats and Avantis already on Rihanna's shoe rack.

It seems Rihanna—the brand's most loyal ambassador—debuted the cleat sneakers to tease the March 2026 return of Puma x Jil Sander. The labels announced their second collaboration just weeks after Rihanna took her archival pair for a walk.

A month prior, Rihanna pulled another sneaker out of retirement: Puma x Ottolinger Mostro sneakers, to match the yellow underlay of her vintage Issey Miyake Spring 2001. With neon-green soles, these are some of the more vibrant Pumas in her collection (right next to her blue Speedcat and Mostro Ecstasy sneakers, anyway). Rihanna first styled the metallic silver shoes in July 2024, four months after they hit shelves. The red-and-silver shade joined her closet shortly after.

Rihanna's rare Puma collection is something of a work requirement: As a fashion designer, she often releases pieces under the Fenty x Puma umbrella. But not every celebrity needed an official contract to trot out a rare collaboration. Take Jennifer Lawrence, who got her hands on a limited-edition pair of New Balance's 1906Rs designed with Aimé Leon Dore.

Lawrence wore her green and bronze pair on repeat during her second pregnancy. The Dore's preppy streetwear blended seamlessly with New Balance's best-selling silhouette; now, pairs from the collab fetch up to $325 on the resale market.

This isn't the last New Balance collab to enter the A-list arena. "Since then, the silhouette has continued to evolve through additional partnerships with Kith, Jack Harlow, Comme des Garçons, and Salehe Bembury, solidifying the 1906R as one of the brand’s most ubiquitous styles," Dunne of StockX adds.

Some celebrities, like Dua Lipa, tapped a close designer friend to build out their sneaker collection. In mid-November, she ended her five-year Nike hiatus with headline-making Moon Shoes—from a collaboration with her close friend, Simone Porte Jacquemus.

Dunne called the retro slip-ons "a Jacquemus-stamped answer to the recent slim sneaker trend." The original design, however, is 53 years old. The Moon Shoes have remained otherwise unmanufactured since Nike's co-founder Bill Bowerman presented them at the U.S. Olympics Trials in 1972. By the time Jacquemus and Nike were joining forces for a partnership nearly 50 years later, the French designer decided it was time to bring the archival style back.

It was a savvy move. The reworked sneaker "landed at a middle ground between sneaker nerds and fashion enthusiasts," Dunne explained. And, it sold out in minutes after two restocks.

Still, Lipa was able to secure the Moon Shoes in the Alabaster colorway. The once-$180 shoes are currently shoppable on StockX for $345.

In the midst of the Moon Shoe's takeover, Jennifer Lopez brought a seven-year-old Nike collaboration back into the conversation. This year, the circa-2018 Nike x Off-White Air Presto sneakers became her signature dance studio footwear.

Each shoe's block-letter Helvetica script, mesh monochromatic uppers, and red plastic zip-ties set them apart from the market's constant stream of white sneakers. Creative director Virgil Abloh deconstructed the Air Prestos in true Off-White form, 18 years after the model's original release.

Sure, she was six years late to the Nike x Off-White party. But Lopez made up for it in spades, having worn them over 15 times since April 2025.

The reign of the non-obvious sneaker is hardly nearing its end. Toward the end of the year, StockX noticed "impressive sales growth" in smaller, "more niche" brands like Saucony, Mizuno, and Brooks. It seems 2026's celebrity sneaker scene is on track to continue last year's streak. "This speaks to consumers’ desire to be early adopters of new brands and diversify their closets," Dunne said.

By this time next year, a sidewalk sneaker tally might even be Sambas-free.

Lipa confirmed her engagement to Turner in June, following months of speculation due to the diamond ring she'd been wearing.

"Classic white has that rare quality of feeling both understated and luxurious," nail artist Valeriia Telemaniuk previously told MC. "It’s clean, sharp, and naturally sophisticated, and the kind of color that makes nails look refined with minimal effort."

Pantone also just officially named "Cloud Dancer," a dreamy white, its color of the year for 2026, so with celebrities like Dua Lipa and Kerry Washington adding sheer whites to their winter nail lineup, it's clear that it's slowly becoming the unexpected neutral of choice this upcoming season.

The brands have collaborated since 2022 on various athleisure lines, but in late September, their partnership peaked with the Moon Shoe sneaker's debut. On November 19, photographers spotted Lipa wearing the collector's item in Rio de Janeiro, mere days after she debuted them on her Instagram Story. A leafy green sequin bra began Lipa's street style set, which peeked out from underneath a white button-down. Straight-leg, sky blue jeans were a few shades lighter than the dark denim she wore on Nov. 18. And yet, the jeans felt so aligned with Fall 2025 trends. In 2005, Chloé’s Paddington bag was in the crook of every fashion darling’s arm, from Kate Moss and Sienna Miller to Halle Berry and Jennifer Lopez. Cut to 2025, and the east-west style, with its distinctive chunky padlock front and center, has found its way back into the wardrobes of tastemakers, including Katie Holmes, who carries a Paddington on her movie sets, and Dua Lipa, who totes it in Instagram outfit dumps.

This case of It-bag déjà vu comes down to one woman and one woman alone: Chemena Kamali. One of only a handful of women designers at the top level of luxury fashion, she joined Chloé as creative director in 2023, having started her career at the French fashion house as an intern during its Phoebe Philo era. The Chloé Paddington was actually designed by Philo for the Spring 2005 collection. Kamali brought it out of the vault as part of her Fall 2025 show for the brand, with none other than Alexa Chung walking it down the runway.

“As I started working on this collection, I felt that moving forward is just as important as honoring the past,” Kamali said in a press statement. “I thought about how we romanticize the past through an intuitive lens, blending […] what we once loved with what we love today—the memories of bygone eras.”

When reminiscing on Chloé's archive, Kamali knew there were few silhouettes more beloved than its padlocked Paddington.

Kamali’s resissued Paddington adheres to the original silhouette. (If the German designer strayed too far from its Philo-era design, the Chloé cult would riot.) But her redux does come with a few key tweaks: a lighter padlock and hardware, a more spacious shoulder drop, and a secured zip opening to ensure your belongings don’t spill out when carrying the bag as a modern bohème would (effortlessly, without concern for whether your Chapstick rolls out onto the floor).

The Paddington reintroduces itself with a black-and-white, David Sims-shot campaign starring Kendall Jenner, Aimee Lou Wood, and Meovv's Anna.

“I wanted to capture the Paddington as it lives today, spontaneous, not precious, a bag that has become part of women’s lives, carrying both intimacy and character,": Kamali said, in a statement. "Captured in Paris, Chloé’s hometown, the images have a natural sensuality and ease, while paying homage to the spirit of 1970s French cinema.”

Like Philo, Kamali understands that the enduring allure of Chloé lies in its dynamic understanding of womanhood. “Chloé embodies a unique balance of soft strength, blending natural femininity, sensuality, and lightness with independence and freedom,” Kamali said, in the same press release. “This soft strength is really what I have always been drawn to.”

The Paddington bag is emblematic of this ethos. The focal piece of her ensemble was undeniably the midi skirt—a knee-length lace number adorned with 3D floral beads and sequins. Its spiced orange shade had a moment on Fall 2025 runways, thanks to fellows, like Ferragamo, Saint Laurent, Fendi, Miu Miu, and Gucci.

She swapped the retro heels for chromatic sandals, which matched her handbag to a T. Oversize hoop earrings from Jenny Bird and paparazzi-blocking sunglasses gave Lipa's outfit a proper Hollywood finish.
