There's no way Taylor—Schiaparelli's of-the-moment muse—would miss creative director Daniel Roseberry's soirée on January 26. KPop Demon Hunters has officially made Golden Globes history.

"Golden" took home the award for Best Original Song - Motion Picture at the 2026 Golden Globes, with EJAE—the hit's co-songwriter and the singing voice for the character Rumi—becoming the first Korean-American to win in the category.

After making her way to the stage, alongside her co-songwriter Mark Sonnenblick and producers 24 and IDO, EJAE reflected on her journey from being a K-pop trainee to writing the biggest song of 2025.

"When I was a little girl, I worked tirelessly for 10 years to fill one dream to become a K-pop idol, and I was rejected and disappointed that my voice wasn't good enough," she said. "So I leaned on songs and music to get through it. So now, I'm here as a singer and a songwriter."

"It’s a dream come true to be a part of a song that is helping other girls, other boys, and everyone of all ages to get through their hardship and to accept themselves. So, thank you, Golden Globes, for accepting my voice and our voice."

EJAE and Sonnenblick went on to thank their friends and loved ones, as well as the teams at Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation, and KPop Demon Hunters co-directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans.

EJAE then dedicated the award to people who have also found a new dream in life. "I just want to say this award goes to people who've had their doors closed at them and that I can confidently say rejection is redirection, and so never give up. And you know it's never too late to shine like you were born to be," she concluded.

Earlier in the night, the HUNTR/X singing trio, EJAE, Rei Ami, and Audrey Nuna walked the red carpet in coordinating black gowns. The voices behind the fictional KPop Demon Hunters group have become an in-demand live act, from making their debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last October to appearing alongside Snoop Dogg in Netflix's Christmas Gameday halftime show.

Best Original Song - Motion Picture isn't the only award KPop Demon Hunters took home at the Globes. The film won the Best Motion Picture - Animated award. The Netflix sensation—which became the streamer's most-watched movie ever—was nominated alongside Arco, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Infinity Castle, Elio, Little Amélie or the Character of Rain, and Zootopia 2.

This likely won't be the last we hear of KPop Demon Hunters this awards season. The animated blockbuster is expected to continue to win big throughout the season, as "Golden" received four Grammy nominations, making EJAE the first Korean-American female songwriter to be nominated for Song of the Year, and it's sure to take that fervor to the Oscars.

Speaking to Variety about the Grammy nomination, EJAE expressed the importance of representation. “You’re going to see three Korean faces. To think about the kids who are going to see that, and hopefully for that to shape their understanding of what they can do in this world, is the stuff that is giving me chills up my spine.”

Interim style director Ana Colón correctly predicted the 2026 Golden Globes would be a big night for Matthieu Blazy's Chanel. No one on the Marie Claire team was ready, though, for the way we collectively sighed over Ayo Edebiri's dress from Métiers de Art collection, styled by Danielle Goldberg.

Like us, Edebiri told E! she was blown away by the collection. Unlike us, she got to take the velvet, off-the-shoulder gown off the runway and on to athe red carpet. "It was the most beautiful, cinematic show," she said. "Me and my stylist saw this gown and we were like, 'That's the one.'"

One-half of everyone's favorite (fictional) hockey rivalry arrived at the 2026 Golden Globes early—and made editors grateful they tuned in before the main broadcast.

Heated Rivalry took over pop culture so quickly, star Hudson Williams likely had his pick of designers for his big night. He and stylist Anastasia Walker landed on a slick Giorgio Armani tuxedo jacket (open over a matching cummerbund and shirt, natch) and black trousers. His unbuttoned shirt gave a sneak-peek at his Bvlgari necklace, a sign of the many megawatt fashion partnerships to come for the rising actor.

Sorry, Baby writer and actor Eva Victor used their first Golden Globes nomination to share the debut spotlight with Loewe's newly-minted creative directors, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez. It's hard to pull off red on a red carpet, but, styled by Danielle Goldberg, the chili pepper tone was bright enough to stand out amid a sea of black dresses.

Tessa Thompson's brand of method dressing is more subtle than her Hollywood peers'. To the naked eye, this looks like a second-skin Balenciaga gown comprised of miles of sequins. But according to Thompson, it was her homage to Hedda, the character who earned her a nomination tonight.

"My character, she slinks around throughout the film in a green dress," she told E!. Live and in person, Thompson (and stylist, Karla Welch) let the dress shine underneath beachy waves.

Amy Madigan and stylist Andrew Gelwicks are on a custom suiting tear. Last week at the Critics Choice Awards, she took home the Best Supporting Actress trophy in an intricately embroidered Dior suit. Seven days later, she's running it back in a dapper Thom Browne coat (with tails!). Maybe it's too early in the night to say, but it seems to me she's manifesting around win with this all-out tailoring moment. Or, to quote Colón: "She's taking it!"

As promised: your second helping of Heated Rivalry excellence. Connor Storrie isn't here just because, as one team member noted, "his jawline is made for the red carpet." Storrie and stylist James Yardley secured Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello for his debut Golden Globes. In fashion circles, that's nearly as impressive as scoring a hat-trick in the NHL.

Several Marie Claire editors were typing the same Slack message when Selena Gomez arrived on the 2026 Golden Globes red carpet. Specifically, they were typing the same word: "Feathers!" 323 hours of work in Chanel's atelier resulted in this custom gown set with "200 embroidered elements," according to the brand.

A black column silhouette is a red carpet classic, seen at ceremony after ceremony. Topped with those rows of feathers—and Gomez's still-dazzling engagement ring—it's something completely new, thanks to Erin Walsh's styling.

Before Best Supporting Actress winner (and former Marie Claire cover star) Teyana Taylor collected her trophy, she had to call-out her custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture dress. "Wait—the party in the back!" she said, turned around to show the Beverly Hilton ballroom the centerpiece detail: a "silver-rhinestone bijou thong" peeking out from a cut-out at the back of her gown.

Earlier, on the red carpet, Taylor said the Wayman and Micah-styled ensemble looked "expensive." Contrasting the sculpted bodice and long, black train of her gown, her description is right on the money.

When she stopped by Marie Claire's Close-Up column beforeThe Studio's official premiere, Chase Sui Wonders told us how much she loves to shop vintage. She and stylist Thomas Carter Phillips didn't go the secondhand route for the 2026 Golden Globes, but they did work in her affinity for style eras past in this stunning Balenciaga gown.

While her day-to-day style can lean '90s-inspired, she harkened back to Old Hollywood in a jewel-tone green strapless number. New creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli has spent the start of his tenure diving back into Cristóbal Balenciaga's archives for heritage silhouettes and tones. The move is a perfect match for Wonders's old-is-new-again approach to the red carpet.

Pluribus star Rhea Seehorn earned her Best Actress in a TV Series – Drama nomination fronting a series where her enemies all think, act, and dress the same. (That is, without any personal style.) On the show and on the 2026 Golden Globes red carpet, the actor prized individuality. She told me this Louis Vuitton dress—crafted from gold brocade in the label's Paris atelier, with tailoring by stylist Jessica Paster—made her feel like a "superhero." She'll share more details in our upcoming edition of The Close-Up. For now, I have to agree that this one looks like it could channel a Golden Globes trophy...or save the world.

The end of Love Island USA season 7 was the start of Olandria Carthen's ascent in fashion. Styling duo the Reismans followed up their star client's recent tour through Golden Globes weekend parties with the main event: a corseted Christian Siriano trumpet gown.

Commentators online have been asking if Carthen is "fashion's next It girl," and this look says an emphatic "yes." From the sculpted tailoring to the eye-popping shade of green and rows of Anabela Chan diamonds, it's the sort of red carpet moment that reads like an arrival.

Truly timeless and oh-so sophisticated, Amal Clooney’s red carpet style is the epitome of Hollywood glamour. So, it’s only right that tonight, at the 2026 Golden Globes red carpet, she make her grand return to the award show's red carpet in a striking vintage-inspired gown.

Clooney arrived at the Beverly Hilton Hotel alongside her husband George in a vibrant cherry red Balmain dress that instantly made heads turn. The stunning column style featured a sweetheart neckline, a mermaid train, and ruched detailing. She elevated the look with a matching clutch, diamond drop earrings, and a radiant bracelet that could have easily been spotted from a mile away.

George—who's nominated for his work Jay Kelly—also came dressed to impress in a Giorgio Armani tuxedo and a pair of sleek oxfords.

On the glam front, Clooney kept things au naturel with soft pink blush, nude lipstick, and a subtle smokey eye. She also opted for her usual hairstyle: voluminous waves parted to the side.

This is Clooney's first appearance at the Golden Globes since 2015, when she stole the show in a black Dior Haute Couture featuring a one-shoulder cape, a flattering bodice, and a floor-grazing hemline. She amped up the volume with vintage-inspired white opera gloves, a structured clutch, and scintillating diamond earrings.

While we’re not sure when Clooney will serve another stunning look, we have hope that we’ll see her again soon. After all, awards season is officially underway, so there’s certainly a chance she’ll accompany George to another red carpet down the line.

The 83rd annual Golden Globes kicked off with an exciting surprise win for Teyana Taylor—and she took the moment to sing praises of Black and brown girls watching at home.

The actress/singer took home the first award of the night, winning Best Supporting Female Actor in a Motion Picture for her performance as Perfidia Beverly Hills in One Battle After Another. She was visibly emotional, tearing up as she made her way to the stage to accept the trophy for her first-ever Golden Globe nomination.

"I almost didn't even write a speech because I didn't think I would win," Taylor said, before speaking directly to her two daughters. "My babies are upstairs watching. Y’all better be off them damn phones and watching me right now."

The star continued, "First, in the name of Jesus, I thank you, and I praise you for every part of this faith walk, every lesson, every test, and every blessing. Thank you to the Golden Globe voters for seeing me and reminding me that purpose always finds its moment. To my mommy and my daddy, it's all for y'all anytime. I love y'all so much. Thank you for being here with me tonight. To my tribe, oh my God, my grounding force, my joy, and my daily reminder that love is an action, not just the word, and everything I do is rooted in that truth."

She went on to praise the team behind One Battle After Another, including writer/director Paul Thomas Anderson and the comedy's ensemble cast. "To Paul "Let Him Cook" Thomas Anderson, thank you for your vision, your trust, and your brilliance. My gratitude is endless. I love you. We love you and thank you so much for holding space for me and our entire cast. Leo [Dicaprio], Sean [Penn], Benicio [del Toro], Chase [Infiniti], Regina [Hall], everybody, the crew, every single person who has touched this project, none of this is taken lightly."

Taylor concluded her speech in a moving moment by dedicating it to women and girls of color. "And last but most importantly, to my brown sisters and little brown girls watching tonight, our softness is not a liability. Our depth is not too much. Our light does not need permission to shine. We belong in every room we walk into. Our voices matter, and our dreams deserve space. Thank you so much, everybody," she concluded.

Ever the fashion star, Taylor also took a moment to highlight her look of the evening, a black Schiaparelli gown featuring a rhinestone-embellished thong topped with a bow. "Wait till you see my party in the back!" she said, turning around to show the bling.

Tonight's win is Taylor's biggest honor for acting, after she broke out with her acclaimed performance in 2023's A Thousand and One. Earlier this year, during her September 2025 Marie Claire cover story interview, she said of her acting journey, "That's one thing that I can say I’m really proud of."

"When I was taking that risk, and nobody else believed that I would make these things happen if I took that risk, that’s one thing that I get to sit here today and say, 'I’m proud of that.' And did, and did, and did, and did. I said I would do it, and not everybody believed that," she shared.

Taylor was nominated alongside Emily Blunt for The Smashing Machine, Elle Fanning for Sentimental Value, Ariana Grande for Wicked: For Good, Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas for Sentimental Value, and Amy Madigan for Weapons.

One Battle After Another, meanwhile, is the most-nominated film of the night, with a total of nine nods.

Few things are guaranteed in this life, but Kylie Jenner showing up for her man is one of them. The mogul has been glued to boyfriend Timothée Chalamet's side as he's promoted Marty Supreme, from the Los Angeles premiere to the recent Critics Choice Awards. Naturally, she was expected to be his plus-one to the 2026 Golden Globes, as well.

For each of the couple's three years together, Jenner has attended the awards show in support of Chalamet. Like clockwork, she'll sneak in while the ceremony is already underway, dressed by stylists Mackenzie and Alexandra Grandquist for the red carpet she intentionally missed.

For the Golden Globes, she at least gave us a look at her custom Ashi Studio gown on Instagram ahead of the ceremony.

The mogul dressed to stun in a champagne-colored bustier gown, made with antique metallic sequins in brushed gold, and a glitzy vintage Gucci box clutch to match. She further accessorized with Lorraine Schwartz cluster earrings and rings, plus Christian Louboutin shoes.

Though she and Chalamet are known to coordinate their red carpet outfits (see: this viral orange look), their ensembles couldn't have been more different. While Jenner embodied glitz and glam, Chalamet was dressed all in black Chrome Hearts.

Last year, Jenner snuck into the Globes in an equally shiny ensemble: a vintage silver chainmail Versace dress.

In 2024, Jenner and Chalamet matched in black textured looks, her in a vintage lace gown designed by Hanae Mori.

Naked dresses are not a trend or new phenomenon—rather, they're a part of fashion history. Jennifer Lopez proved as much in her sheer, 23-year-old vintage gown at the 2026 Golden Globes.

Styling duo Rob Zangardi and Mariell Haenn tracked down the Jean-Louis Scherrer Haute Couture design, which dates back to 2003, from Lily et Cie, the L.A. secondhand boutique beloved by celebrities. (It's behind Ariana Grande's archival Gilbert Adrien dress from last November.) The turtleneck trumpet dress didn't look a day over 20: Nude tulle served as a foundation, before brown, rhinestone-embroidered lace decorated her bust and bottom, dispersing below her knees to allow for butter yellow tulle to flare into a mermaid-shaped hem.

The deep-cut dress was part of a collection filled with naked gowns. Even so, it looked surprisingly different on the catwalk: The intricate turtleneck stretched beyond the model's nose in mask form.

Once you're done ogling at Lopez's Golden Globes gown, feast your eyes on her brown diamond drop earrings, plus her clutch covered in gemstones of the same hue.

Lopez hasn't dressed this risqué at the Golden Globes since 2013, when she arrived in a nude Zuhair Murad gown. Similar to her latest Scherrer long-sleeve look, floral lace decorated the sheer illusion lace number from top to bottom.

Jean-Louis Scherrer is a favorite IYKYK designer among vintage-loving celebrities. Last August, Amal Clooney (another Golden Globes guest) styled herself in a vintage Scherrer mini dress at the 2025 Venice Film Festival. The strapless, high-low dress—made of fuchsia taffeta—hailed from the Fall 1995 line. Its delicate drapery ended once the elongated train took over, which floated effortlessly during Clooney's step-and-repeat.

All this to say? Study up on Scherrer's catalog, because at this rate, celebrities are giving his label a second life at award shows.

Emma Stone is back on the red carpet at the 83rd Golden Globes in Los Angeles, and I, for one, am rejoicing. After debuting a head-turning pixie cut at last year's show (she was in the process of growing out a buzz cut, fun fact), Stone is back and isn’t giving up on the butter yellow trend just yet. When she looks this good, I don’t blame her.

Tonight, Stone is in the running for the Best Female Actor in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy, thanks to her role in Bugonia, her fourth film with director Yorgos Lanthimos (remember, she won a Golden Globe for her 2023 turn in Poor Things, among many other awards).

The actress arrived on the carpet wearing a stunning Louis Vuitton look, which featured a long skirt and a cropped belly shirt. She kept her makeup minimal, opting for fluffy brows, satin skin, and a soft pink shade on the lips and cheeks. Her hair had to be my favorite part of the look, however, especially given that it looks nothing like it did this time last year.

Her latest look is a blunt bob that stops about two inches above her shoulders with razor-sharp ends. She kept her signature copper red color intact and added slight waves toward the front of her head, giving the look tons of extra volume to frame her face perfectly (which it did). She wrapped everything up with a short, square manicure, opting for a translucent pink color that showed a bit of her natural nail beneath.

While some of our favorite actors and actresses will be taking home some pretty covetable trophies tonight, at MC, we’ve already been spotting some of our favorite beauty moments of the night via our live blog. First up? The Bama Barbie herself, Olandria Carthen.

​Dressed in a stunning Christian Siriano gown, Carthen was a vision in green and dripping in diamonds, as she should, given that she is America's Sweetheart. That being said, my eyes are drawn to her glam, and, as per usual, it’s perfect. A brown-toned supermodel lip was the star of the show, and the TV personality added a gloss on top for a glassy shine. She paired the lip with blushing pink cheeks, long half lashes, and the most sultry body glow I’ve seen on the carpet so far. In addition to this, she’s also wearing a gold, abstract, French tip-inspired nail design. In short? She has yet another 10/10 look under her belt, and 2026 has only just begun.

While exact details about the look have yet to be revealed by her team, if you’ve been a fan of the Love Islander since last season, you might already know what it is. The Golden Globes don't often get the fashion credit it's due. But with stars like Zoë Kravitz on the presenters' list, the 2026 red carpet practically guaranteed memorable style moments. And did she deliver...

The actor walked the carpet in a silken Saint Laurent creation. Rebuffing her usual Golden Globes look—historically, she's loved a little black dress moment—Kravitz went for a boudoir-inspired gown in a delectable shade of princess cake pink.

The design featured a cream-colored lace trim at both the neck and hem, which gave the lingerie-inspired gown a sheer detail. Its embroidered sage-colored spaghetti straps and a butter yellow bow tied at the waist added subtle contrast. She finished the look off with Jessica McCormack jewelry, her go-to.

Kravitz has only attended the awards show twice previously, but each appearance has won her a place on the best-dressed list, without fail. That's because the actor has an unfailing sense of style, always hitting the bullseye of the present-day zeitgeist. The fact that she's currently working with It-girl-favorite stylist Danielle Goldberg is icing on the cake.

For the 2025 Globes, the star, then styled by Andrew Mukamal, reached for one of her most-worn styles: a strapless black Saint Laurent gown. This rendition featured a low-cut take on the classic sweetheart neckline and a white satin sash at the waist. Jessica McCormack chandelier earrings added a glamorous finishing touch.

Five years earlier, in 2020, Kravitz made her Golden Globes debut another black-and-white gown by Saint Laurent. The look was more feminine in nature, featuring a ruffled neckline, polka dots, and 3/4-length sleeves. It too had a slim-fit silhouette (Kravitz loves a column dress) and a silky tie around the waist. She styled this particular dress with a ruby red lip, shade-matching the carpet.

Could this signal a more (relatively) colorful red carpet direction for Kravitz? Time will tell.

Keri Russell has come a long way from wearing flip-flops at the 1999 Golden Globe Awards. On January 11, the five-time Best Actress nominee returned for the 2026 ceremony, dressed in the antithesis of her debut look: a Stéphane Rolland select.

As she's done since 1999, Russell arrived at her sixth Globes on time and ready to walk the red carpet. Stylist Frank Fleming—the same creative behind her The Diplomat press tour looks—brought the Stéphane Rolland dress to life, beginning with a diplomatic turtleneck. Its silky satin exterior stretched vertically toward the ankle-length hem. Side angles bared some skin, before the back appeared entirely open. A marquise-shaped brooch atop her waist added some dimension to the cropped couture.

Black earrings from Tiffany & Co. marked a moody shift from her diamond collection. To finish, the monochrome continued onto a satin clutch and Saint Laurent stilettos.

Russell made her Golden Globes debut at 23 years old, following a "Best Actress" nomination for Felicity. Before method dressing became an internet-famous trend, she channeled her character's care-free costume rack in a muted skirt set, courtesy of Armani. Her orange tube top was a perfect shade match to the underlay of her side-slitted skirt. A semi-sheer blue slip—embroidered with blue florals—added some dimension via an unlikely color combination.

The red carpet look's pièce de résistance was, of course, her strappy turquoise flip-flops. Her bedazzled pair would've looked right at home among last summer's street style circuit, but at the Golden Globes, it was widely considered "bold."

The next year, Russell gave her flip-flops the evening off in favor of white stilettos, which peeked out from beneath her fuchsia slip dress. The brand behind the Globe winner's gown still remains a mystery, but either way, it rang in the new millennium in Y2K form. Its U-shaped neckline paved the way for Russell's plunging picks at the 2017, 2019, and 2025 Golden Globes.

Fast forward two decades (and some change) to the 2024 Golden Globes, when Russell perfected award show styling with ease. Striking column silhouettes are her signature, as proven by her Jil Sander Spring 2024 select. What started as a classic, stark white tank turned into a statement skirt, featuring tiered layers of fringe. Blink and you'll miss the feather clutch, which blended into the maxi's eye-catching shade.

Always on board for a stark white select, Russell returned to the Golden Globes in 2025, dressed in suit-inspired Stéphane Rolland couture. Hollywood's largest shoulder pads triggered the navel-plunge neckline, which complemented the skirt's hip-high, center slit. A square-shaped belt buckle—made of yellow diamonds—felt like something her The Diplomat character would wear (but not until her fashion evolution in Season 3). Plus, the dress's hidden pockets just screamed Kate Wyler-core (IYKYK).

Russell has scored Golden Globes nominations after all three seasons of The Diplomat, including the latest one. Now that the Netflix hit is confirmed for Season 4, trust her red carpet streak will continue come 2027. Fans certainly wouldn't say no to another round of diplomat-inspired dressing from the show's leading lady.

On Jan. 11, the actor graced paparazzi with the shot of a century, stepping onto the Golden Globes red carpet in a custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture cut-out gown that matched famously fearless aesthetic. From the front, the Daniel Roseberry-designed look, styled by Wayman and Micah, was fairly classic-seeming: a little black dress, with an asymmetrical neckline and a trendy scarf detail at the neck, which trailed behind her like a train. Overall, it read polished and elegant.

The back, however, supplied that white-hot spice Taylor is known to bring on the carpet. It boasted one additional cut-out—a slash across the lower back, which made way for what the brand calls a "silver-rhinestone bijou thong."

Taylor's bijou thong was embellished with a bedazzled bow, which acted as the focal point of her entire outfit. "The crack is covered in diamonds," she told E! News on the carpet, later dubbing the look "expensive"

Though the Golden Globes red carpet is typically a parade of ultra-conservative ball gowns, attendees got wild with their award show wardrobes this year. In addition to Taylor, stars like Jennifer Lawrence have also eschewed the stuffy dress code. It's the Golden Globes like we've never seen it.

The 2025 CFDA Fashion Awards, the 2025 Governors Awards, and the 2025 Gotham Awards all teased Jennifer Lawrence’s first full-fledged award season in years: 2026. At the 2026 Golden Globes, her red carpet look got the ball rolling in her most naked dress yet.

The January 11 ceremony marked Lawrence's debut Golden Globes with stylist Ryan Hastings. Even so, the pair's illusion slip proved they're a perfect match with Givenchy by Sarah Burton. J.Law sent jaws dropping in an entirely see-through dress, embroidered with flowers in pink, ivory, and green. Waist cut-outs paused the carefully-placed botanicals, before resuming atop the skirt's nude tulle. Even her pillow-like shawl boasted similar floral motifs, except its satin pink base appeared completely opaque.

Lawrence hasn't gone this risqué since 2017 at the London premiere of Mother. Back then, fans were equally shocked to see her skin peek through a distressed Atelier Versace Fall 2017 Couture dress. Still, her Golden Globes gown took home the trophy for most naked moment of Lawrence's career.

In the 2010s, Lawrence was every bit a Globes regular, RSVP’ing “yes” to the 2011, 2013, 2014, and 2016 ceremonies. She scored her first nomination in 2011 for Winter's Bone, plus fresh-off-the-runway Louis Vuitton for the red carpet. Ombré black and gray ruffles decorated the entire Fall 2010 gown, beginning with the belted sweetheart bodice, beyond the asymmetrical train.

A Judith Leiber clutch co-starred in Lawrence's step-and-repeat—a celebrity status symbol at the time. That year, she carried similar styles to the BAFTA Film Awards and Screen Actor Guild (now Actor) Awards.

And just like that, the 2011 ceremony became Lawrence's first and last non-Dior Golden Globes dress, until 2026, of course. Her 2012 appointment to brand ambassador secured her Dior designs at the 2013, 2014, 2016, and 2024 fêtes. First up? A strapless, Fall 2012 Couture bustier gown, featuring a drop-waist bodice and an elongated train. It's not the only reason Lawrence won her first Golden Globe for Silver Linings Playbook, but it certainly helped.

Her affinity for statement belts stretched into 2014, when J.Law arrived in a cinched white tulle gown, courtesy of the Fall 2013 Couture collection. Its fit-and-flare silhouette was almost identical to its predecessor, except with a second black strap around her thighs. What's more, it was the dress she took home her second Golden Globes trophy in. To finish, Roger Vivier's clutch picked up where Judith Leiber left off.

Since then, Lawrence has only attended three Golden Globes, including in 2016 on behalf of Joy. She returned to the post-win trophy room wearing custom Dior, crafted just for her by then-creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri.

The crimson-colored column dress broke up her ballgown streak with blink-and-you'll-miss-them side cutouts. A 157-carat diamond Chopard necklace looked perfectly tailored to the sleeveless style's U-shaped décolletage.

It would be eight years before the three-time winner ended her Golden Globes hiatus, dressed in (you guessed it) custom Dior. The 2024 ceremony hosted her most minimalist Globes gown yet: a black slip with a V-neck, ruched shoulders, and a simple column skirt. The plunge neckline allowed her five-figure, Tiffany & Co. diamond pendant to shine uninterrupted. Sapphire earrings—also from Tiffany & Co.'s catalog—cascaded up each ear in the shape of bird wings.

Of course, fashion girls were shocked to see Lawrence's Dior dress series end at the 2026 Golden Globes. But her Givenchy by Sarah Burton design proved she's still evolving as a style muse, so it's best to buckle up and enjoy the ride.

The 2026 Golden Globes marks a very special moment for Hailee Steinfeld. To start, her latest film Sinners, directed by Ryan Coogler, is up for seven nominations. Furthermore, she's a presenter this evening, alongside A-listers like Ayo Edebiri, Miley Cyrus, and Zoë Kravitz. And last but not least, this is Steinfeld’s first red carpet appearance since confirming her pregnancy last month.

The mother-to-be kicked off her maternity fashion era in a pink Prada gown, crafted with a polished crew neckline, a trailing silhouette, and sparkling embellishments for an extra dose of drama. Her bubblegum pink dress featured a fitted bodice, a high neckline, and a bow-adorned train. Paired with sheer black opera gloves and shimmering Boucheron jewels, Steinfeld’s outfit perfectly channeled Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's.

While the actress is partial toward timeless pieces, she’s not afraid to switch things up every now and then. Take, for example, her recent Stephane Rolland Couture look that she wore to the 2025 Governors Awards. Designed with a sculptural silhouette, sheer detailing, and scintillating beads, her dress embodied a true work of art.

Similar to her acting portfolio, Steinfeld’s red carpet wardrobe has range. In the same way that she can star as both a songwriter in Pitch Perfect 2 and a bloodthirsty vampire in Sinners, her style can transition from classic to experimental. Whether on or off the screen, Steinfeld is undoubtedly dynamic.

Fans couldn’t be happier Wicked hit theaters in two parts: It confirmed Ariana Grande’s presence at the Golden Globe Awards in 2025 and 2026. Tonight, the two-time “Best Supporting Actress” nominee returned with one last anti-Glinda-coded Globes look up her sleeve.

Earlier this week, Variety reported Cynthia Erivo would miss the January 11 ceremony due to Dracula rehearsals in London’s West End. (She’s busy prepping to play 23 characters in the one-woman show.) Thankfully, her co-star held down the sartorial fort on the red carpet—in Elphaba Noir, no less. Stylist and image architect Law Roach sourced an off-the-shoulder black dress on Grande’s behalf from Vivienne Westwood Couture. A crimped chiffon covered the corseted foundation, before cascading into a voluminous ballgown.

Sure, the shade channeled Elphaba's aesthetic more than Glinda's, but the bubble-like train still revived the Good Witch's signature silhouettes. She's no stranger anti-Glinda gowns: see her Wicked: For Good after-party pick last November. Another angle revealed the pleated gown's plunging V-neck back, plus the skirt's bustled bum. The textured fabric called for few accessories, including diamond studs and a matching necklace, both from Swarovski.

Grande seems like the star to own shelves stocked with Golden Globes, but she made her debut just last year. Before the Sunday evening soirée, Grande scored an invite to the first-time nominee luncheon, alongside Mikey Madison, Zoe Saldaña, and more.

Still, she looked every bit a veteran in a vintage tea-length dress, courtesy of Dior's Fall 1959 collection. The 65-year-old dress was her oldest archival look, until she attended November's Wicked: For Good London premiere in a circa-1952 design crafted by Wizard of Oz costume designer Gilbert Adrien himself. Just like magic, the satin Dior dress didn't look a day over 50.

Fans should've known Grande's vintage streak would stretch onto the actual 2025 Golden Globes red carpet. (The luncheon was, for all intents and purposes, her practice round.)

On Jan. 5, she took a more subtle approach to Glinda method dressing in a butter yellow, empire-waist column dress from Givenchy's archives. The Spring 1966 Couture slip started with a strapless, hand-beaded bodice, before cascading into a petal-like skirt. Opera gloves, a Swarovski tennis necklace, and matching diamond drop earrings added that Old Hollywood charm you know and love her for.

Wicked: For Good may be out of theaters, but Glinda will live on in Grande's glamour forever. Take her Golden Globes look as proof: Fans would've never seen her in Vivienne Westwood Couture without the Good Witch's preppy, yet poised influence.

Teyana Taylor has walked enough red carpets for me to know that she is well-versed in the art of serving a look. That being said, nothing could have prepared me for how stunning she looks tonight. The 83rd annual Golden Globes is currently underway in Los Angeles, and I've already been spotting (and swooning over) some of the best beauty looks of the night via Marie Claire's beauty live blog.

Taylor, nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in One Battle After Another, looks absolutely stunning in an asymmetrical black gown featuring striking cutouts. Still, it's her beauty details that have completely captured my attention this evening.

Not only has Taylor perfected the ethereal pixie haircut of everyone's dreams, but she's also paired it with sex kitten makeup. A juicy brown lip, an editorial glossy cheek, and a dramatic winged eyeliner moment all paired beautifully with her glowing skin. She finished everything off with a milky pink manicure. In short, she's a walking lesson in the art of having main-character energy.

Most Amanda Seyfried fans will say they've been following her since Mean Girls. Not to brag, but I've been along for her ride since way before that. We're both from Allentown, Pennsylvania (she went to my rival high school), so I paid a little extra attention when a girl from my small suburb landed a role on All My Children, the soap I watched religiously with my mom growing up.

Then came Karen Smith, Mamma Mia, Jennifer's Body, Letters to Juliet, and The Dropout. But this past year, her starring roles have landed her not one, but two (!!) 2026 Golden Globes nominations. The first is for Best Actress in a Motion Picture for her work in The Testament of Anne Lee, and the second is for Best Actress in a Limited Series for her role in Long Bright River. That said, it's no surprise she pulled out all the stops for her beauty look.

Her manicure was my personal favorite part. Working with celebrity manicurist Emi Kudo, she landed on an absolutely perfect winter chome shade: Dazzle Dry's Artisan, an off-white iridescent polish with a blue undertone.

"I envisioned Amanda in something chic—classic, yet hinting at a new red-carpet direction through a soft iridescent shimmer," Kudo exclusively tells Marie Claire. Seyfried's stylist, Elizabeth Stewart, had the same vision. "She immediately loved the soft white, iridescent shade “Artisan” from my kit—it paired beautifully with Amanda’s white, angelic gown. I was excited that Elizabeth wanted to elevate the look rather than stay traditional."

Add a clean, square shape, trimmed cuticles, and the high-shine finish of Dazzle Dry (it has a five-minute dry time, which couldn't be more perfect for red-carpet chaos), and her mani was Golden Globes-ready.

She completed the look with a sleek, side part updo (she went for a sleek approach when the rest of the red carpet was embracing a messier aesthetic), and soft, natural makeup.

For the last three years, fans have missed Jenna Ortega at the Golden Globe Awards. Her Gucci-clad debut made quite an impression in 2023, but since then, she's been noticeably absent from the celebrity guest list. This year, Ortega finally returned with a "Best Actress in a TV Series—Musical or Comedy" nomination.

The January 11 ceremony was the culmination of another shockingly easy fitting with her longtime stylist, Enrique Melendez. Before finding her seat inside The Beverly Hill Hotel, Ortega posed for photographers in a Dilara Findikoglu Spring 2026 gown: a look fit for the two-time nominee. It was the first and last Golden Globes look she tried on, Melendez tells Marie Claire. "[We] knew it was it."

The all-black gown—especially its turtleneck top—was "a little nod" to Wednesday Addams. After two seasons of Netflix's Wednesday, it's a shade Melendez and Ortega "naturally gravitate to." Distressed satin decorated the short-sleeve style, before rhinestone fringe dangled off each ultra-padded shoulder. Both the side cut-out top and low-rise velvet skirt came with a no alterations stipulation, due to the "structure of the [dress's] front panels," Melendez reveals. Thankfully, it fit Ortega like a glove.

From the jump, Ortega told Melendez to "let the dress be the moment," as it has "so many delicate details." See the bust's ruffles, the collar's embroidery, and the scarf-like center, to name a few. So, the actor's longtime makeup artist, Mélanie Inglessis, "suggested a "no-makeup makeup look," Melendez shares. Hair stylist Cesar DeLeon Ramirez originally planned on adding mini braids as an homage to Findikoglu, but last minute, they chose a loose bun instead.

Ortega made her Golden Globes debut at just 21 years old: Season 1 of Wednesday scored the actor her first nomination. At the 2023 Globes, she gave method dressing the evening off in favor of a Gucci Spring 2023 gown. Sure, the cut-out-heavy design wasn't Wednesday Addams black, but the shift wasn't too far from her character's aesthetic.

Its pleated bell sleeves, asymmetrical skirt, and distressed train exuded the ethereal gothic glamour her character knows and loves. Tiffany & Co.'s $8,900 snake necklace looked straight from Wednesday's wardrobe, too. She (and Melendez) accessorized further with sky-high, metallic silver sandals from Jimmy Choo.

Ortega isn't a Golden Globes regular, but make no mistake, she's an award season aficionado through and through. Best-dressed lists at the Emmy Awards have bared her name for two years running, including at the 2025 ceremony in fresh-off-the-runway Givenchy. Once creative director Sarah Burton presented the bejeweled bodice, Melendez knew Ortega was destined to wear it.

In a recent interview with Marie Claire, Melendez revealed the illusion top—made of mismatched rhinestones, pearls, and gemstones—arrived in a coffin-like box with a strict no-alteration stipulation. "It just fit perfectly," Melendez said. Ortega suggested they trade the runway's trousers for a low-rise slip skirt, featuring a thigh-high slit. The in-the-moment swap made her set "a little more elegant for the Emmys," she told her stylist.

Once again, Melendez revived the pair's signature red carpet formula: he didn't plan her Golden Globes gown too far in advance. "If people love it, great. If they don't love it, that's OK, too," he added. Thanks to Melendez, Ortega's 2026 Golden Globes look is already sharing the former fate.

I can always count on Sheryl Lee Ralph (aka the original Dreamgirl) to turn out a look on the red carpet. The Abbott Elementary star showed up tonight wearing a stunning, textured bouffant with a braided crown.

I simply HAVE to know what body moisturizer Olandria Carthen used to achieve her glow tonight. She just made her Golden Globes red carpet debut, and everything about her look was perfect, from the gelled-down finger waves to the '90s supermodel lip to the French manicure with 3D chrome tips. 10/10, no notes.

Audrey Nuna's red carpet look includes so many dramatic details and I'm here for them all. The bold brow! The braided updo! The black lip! The clear gel nails with 3D designs! It's all so good.

Really hoping to see more gray hair moments like this one from Nikki Boyer, the executive producer of FX's Dying For Sex, on the red carpet tonight.

The White Lotus's Natasha Rothwell has arrived—and she came wearing a stunning chin-length bob with blunt bangs.

Teyana Taylor is up for the best supporting actress award for her role as Perfidia Beverly Hills in One Battle After Another. It's her first-ever Golden Globe nomination, so obviously, she brought out her best glam. The actor wore sultry, black winged eyeliner with her signature pixie cut styled in mini curls. She pulled the whole look together with a '90s supermodel lip.

Song Sung Blue star, Kate Hudson, let her stunning beaded, silver gown do all the talking and kept her glam simple with a sleek low bun and a nude manicure.

Hedda's Tessa Thompson showed up wearing long, black mermaid waves, proving that the crimped look deserves to make a comeback in 2026. And are those milky pink nails I see? Gorg!

Alison Brie is serving up a '70s glam moment with a long, silky blowout and blunt bangs.

My gothic queen! Wednesday's Jenna Ortega (unsurprisingly) stayed on brand tonight, wearing her signature bleached brows along with a flesh-toned lip color and a messy, low ponytail.

Another gray hair moment from the legend herself, Kathy Bates. This updo proves that the silver look can be red carpet chic too.

You can never convince me that a messy high bun isn't a perfect red carpet hairstyle, and KPop Demon Hunters star, Ejae, manages to make it look extra elegant here with a chunk of hair wrapped around the base and a piecey bang.

Sinners star, Hailee Steinfeld, continued the Old Hollywood glam trend for the night with a head full of barrel curls and a side part.

The floral naked dress? Stunning! The honey blonde curls and soft waves? I die! Jennifer Lawrence is making me want to steal her entire look.

Miley Cyrus gave her brand new curtain bangs a break for the night. The best original song nominee instead opted for soft curls with her hair slightly coiffed at the front. She paired the show-stopping look with a smokey eye.

This time last year, Emma Stone took us all by surprise by hitting the red carpet with a pixie cut (she shaved her head for her role in Bugonia) and now she's here again with a fully grown-out bob. The cunty little bob club welcomes her with open arms!

The only thing more mesmerizing than Wunmi Mosaku's performance in Sinners (which is up for seven awards tonight) is her sculptural, faux loc hairstyle. I absolutely love when protective styles make red carpet appearances, since they're the perfect opportunity to showcase how versatile they truly are. The actor paired the look with a gorgeous, bright yellow gown and a wine red manicure.

Parker Posey appeared looking the part of the southern belle we all came to know and love on season three of The White Lotus. She wore her hair in bombshell curls and a side part.

Not only has Zoë Kravitz not run out of ways to style her micro braids, but she also always manages to make them look just as effortlessly cool as she is. Tonight she styled them in a messy bun with chic silver accessories.

Breakout star, Chase Infiniti, is up for her first-ever Golden Globe for her role as Willa in One Battle After Another, and she hit tonight's red carpet with her hair styled in a beautiful, textured blowout.

Happy awards season, folks! Tonight, we celebrated the 83rd annual Golden Globes, a moment to honor film and TV excellence and feast on red carpet greatness.

Actors have spent months building buzz (Timothée Chalamet, for one, climbed to the top of the Las Vegas Sphere) and preparing for tonight, the second stop on the 2026 award circuit. Audiences have also done their fair share, whether it was by imitating Parker Posey's North Carolinian twang or experiencing the two-hour and forty-two-minute adrenaline rush of One Battle After Another.

But before presenters started handing trophies out—and we made our best-dressed list—we pregamed on the 2026 Golden Globes red carpet with diamonds, suits, and plenty of glamour. Wicked: For Good’s Ariana Grande (sadly without Cynthia Erivo this time) wore a corseted black Vivienne Westwood gown, and Teyana Taylor's custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture featured, erm, "butt cleavage." Jenna Ortega's gothic Dilara Findikoglu dress, with side peek-a-boo panels and beaded fringe, and Jennifer Lawrence's Givenchy naked dress were also among the evening's highlights.

Lastly, let's hear it for the boys: Heated Rivalry stars Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams made quite the commotion in sharp Saint Laurent and Giorgio Armani suits, respectively. Chalamet showed up in custom Chrome Hearts and an unexpected plus-one that wasn't Kylie Jenner: a teeny-tiny mustache. The black gowns made me especially excited for future award shows. Everyone from Lisa and Ariana Grande to Miley Cyrus and Jenna Ortega gave the evening its signature color story. But tonight, once my head hits the pillow, I'll dream of Ortega's Dilara Findikoglu dress, in all its Wednesday Addams-coded glory (or should I say gore)." —MH

Calling an under-30-year-old runway look "vintage" started many a heated internet debate last award season. But no one could argue with Ariana Grande's circa-1950s selects on the Wicked: For Good press tour. On January 9, however, she got everyone talking in one of her youngest vintage looks yet, courtesy of a 2000s Vivienne Westwood line.

With the 2026 Golden Globes approaching on Jan. 11, Grande rehearsed her step-and-repeat at the AFI Awards Luncheon. Everyone from Gwyneth Paltrow and Teyana Taylor to Mia Goth and Laura Dern RSVP'd "yes," while Grande held down the Wicked: For Good fashion fort. (Cynthia Erivo isn't predicted to attend, because she's preparing to portray 23 roles in London's Dracula.)

Stylist Law Roach began Grande's Globes weekend with a strapless Vivienne Westwood skirt set, crafted entirely from pink Chantilly lace. A near-invisible corset added structure to the peplum top, which covered the skirt's waistline. Pleats atop either side of the layered, silk-and-tulle maxi added extra volume. Kerry Taylor Auctions styled the skirt the same way during its Dec. 2024 bidding, when the set sold for £2,470.

In true Grande form, she limited her jewelry stack to $7,610 pearl earrings from Irene Neuwirth. She bookended the studs with pointy ivory pumps—her only other accessory.

Technically, Grande is still in her Glinda stage. Wicked: For Good will soon compete for the Award for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement at the Golden Globes, while Grande is up for Best Supporting Actress–Motion Picture. Those nominations could soon be followed by more nods at the BAFTAs and, eventually, the Academy Awards. That means Grande's press tour vintage series is continuing in spades. Even so, she's no longer searching for the oldest look in the book. Grande in early-aughts Vivienne Westwood proves anything that matches Glinda's glamour is up for grabs, no matter how old (or young).

Her latest find came two months after the 2025 Governors Awards, where she arrived in another not-quite-archival 2000s number. The one-shoulder, asymmetrical satin gown hailed from Dior by John Galliano's Fall 2007 collection. Perhaps Grande and Roach were drawn to the bodice's botanical embroidery, in all its Glinda-coded glory.

Both the Dior and Vivienne Westwood gowns could be grand-dresses to her Wicked: For Good London premiere look, designed by Gilbert Adrien, the costumer behind The Wizard of Oz. The all-black, one-shoulder ballgown dated back to 1952, and yet, its bubble-hem skirt and oversize sequins didn't look a day over 50. (It's 72 years old, if you're curious).

Now that Grande's vintage repertoire has expanded to earlier decades and aesthetics, there's no predicting her 2026 Golden Globes look. Whether she goes 2000s-level vintage, or hidden-in-an-estate-sale-vintage, you better reserve her a spot on your best-dressed list.

You know you've made it in Hollywood when Louis Vuitton throws a pre-award season dinner in your honor. Such was the case for 2026 Golden Globes nominee Emma Stone, who executed the Louis Vuitton-driven dress code with ease.

Creative director Nicolas Ghesquière welcomed a few additional Louis Vuitton lovers (and award show front-runners) Elle Fanning, Chase Infiniti, and Teyana Taylor to the Beverly Hills affair held on January 8. The guests of honor all helped themselves to Ghesquière's Spring 2026 collection. Stone, for her part, chose Look 33 and a best-selling Louis Vuitton monogram bag.

Her matching set's stark white color story channeled spring styling to a T. However, the turtleneck and wide-leg trousers winterized the shade with ease. A soft satin sheen glossed over the high-neck blouse, which mirrored the look of a button-down worn backwards. She tucked it into matching oversize pants, which peeked out from beneath a $7,500 take on the scarf coat trend. Blink and you'll miss Stone's Louis Vuitton It-Bag beneath the wrap's oversize lapels.

While posing with other guests, Stone's Louis Vuitton bag got a proper close-up. She chose the $3,700 Alma Trunk PM: a zip-top, circa-Fall 2018 tote, which could be carried via top-handle or chainlink strap. The Alma's dome-shaped center dates back to the 1930s, while the center padlock and metallic gold corners are new additions.

Brown monogram canvas covered the entire main compartment, making it the perfect tribute to the pattern's 130th anniversary. It's the latest monogram handbag to join Stone's collection, following last summer's Express PM and CarryAll Vibe MM.

Stone's Alma was noticeably absent from the Spring 2026 catwalk. On the runway, structured trunks, bucket bags, and itty-bitty clutches reigned supreme. Ghesquière accessorized Stone's exact two-piece with a never-before-seen shoulder bag-turned-clutch. A floral white, blue, and pink print decorated its east-west exterior in lieu of Louis Vuitton's classic monogram. Zoom in to see the 130-year-old pattern still made the cut, but beneath the botanical overlay.

Stone's Spring 2026 set won't hit stores for a few weeks, but her Alma PM Bag is shoppable right now.

As for her next Louis Vuitton styling moment? It could come in a matter of days. Stone and stylist Petra Flannery almost always choose the house for her red carpet appearances. There's little chance Sunday's Golden Globes will be an exception.

If the 2026 Golden Globes awarded a Best Reality TV Star trophy, Love Island's Olandria Carthen would be a front-runner. On January 6, Carthen made her case at this year's Golden Globes Eve event, dressed in an award-worthy, semi-sheer gown.

Before the 83rd annual Golden Globes on Jan. 11, celebrity guests rehearsed their step-and-repeats a few days early in Beverly Hills. Even so, styling duo Matthew and Reginald Reisman ensured Carthen looked ceremony-ready. The Reismans enlisted Sevon Dejana, a Nigerian designer, to adapt a heavily-embroidered, Fall 2025 gown for Carthen.

Look 4 fit her like a glove, beginning with a free-standing, square-neck bodice. Black velvet served as a blank canvas behind floral beadwork and celestial gemstones. A drop-waist, olive satin train—centered by a 3D pink rosette—draped delicately over her hips. Then, the opaque bustier turned sheer, without abandoning the botanical motif. Earth-toned sequins and tear-drop appliqués sparkled atop the skirt's see-through, black tulle base.

In November, Carthen told Harper's Bazaar Vietnam she's drawn to "clothes that have a defined silhouette and a statement piece." The Sevon Dejana number checked every box, especially once the Reismans took creative liberties. On the Fall 2025 runway, the strapless style featured an elongated, face-covering neckline. (Similar gravity-defying contours debuted in Schiaparelli's Spring 2024 Couture collection.)

Carthen, on the other hand, squared off the bodice, as to not shield her face from view. This way, the neckline framed the star's fine-line collarbone tattoo. Blink and you'll miss Carthen's modest accessories, including diamond stud earrings and matching rings.

Carthen's rise to fame beyond the Love Island villa has triggered an onslaught of red carpet invitations. So far, she's approached every fitting with intention. In 2025, she continuously gave independent designers their flowers, including Brandon Blackwood, Patbo, LaPointe, Harbison Studio, and more.

Last November, Carthen attended Femme It Forward's 4th Annual Give Her FlowHERS Gala in a corseted gown from Turkish label Amor Garibovic. Its ultra-padded hips, peekaboo bra, and leather opera gloves declared she's an up-and-coming fashion girl to watch.

Zendaya's blush pink BIAB nails on the 82nd Annual Golden Globes red carpet weren't simply one of the best beauty moments of the night. They were also a classic choice for debuting her diamond engagement ring from Tom Holland on the step-and-repeat.

The Challengers star accompanied her custom Louis Vuitton gown and 48-carats of Bulgari jewels with a stunning, 5-carat diamond ring in an East-West setting. Zendaya likely sensed her sparkler, valued at around $120,000, would fetch plenty of headlines—so she and nail artist Lisa Kon took the understated route for her engagement manicure beneath it. Kon filed Z's nails into an oval shape and set them with a custom, bubble bath pink BIAB (Builder in a Bottle) shade for long-lasting shine.

Pale pink nails are one of the most timeless engagement manicures for brides-to-be, even among A-listers. In December, Selena Gomez revealed she would say "Yes!" to marrying Benny Blanco with a marquise diamond ring and a similar pink manicure crafted by Tom Bachik. One of the films to win big at the 2025 Golden Globes on Sunday, January 5 was The Brutalist—which few moviegoers have actually seen. Directed by Brady Corbet and co-written by him and his wife Mona Fastvold, the acclaimed A24 film and one of the best dramas of 2024 was among the most-nominated titles with a total of seven nods, just behind Emilia Pérez's 10. By the end of the awards show, The Brutalist nabbed three coveted prizes: Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for star Adrien Brody, and Best Director.

If the Golden Globes are any indication of how the rest of the 2025 awards season is about to go, this won't be the last we're hearing of The Brutalist. Unless you consider yourself a major cinephile whose ears perked when the movie premiered at Venice Film Festival in September, you're tapped into "Film Twitter" or Letterboxd, or among the audiences who've already gotten out to see it in New York and L.A., the Globes may be the first time you're hearing of the period piece. Or, perhaps, the one thing you've heard about the film that's stuck with you is its lengthy runtime of three hours and 35 minutes, plus a 15 intermission.

Because the post-World War II tragedy starring Adrien Brody and Felicity Jones is absolutely worth seeing (yes, even with its runtime!) and will likely only earn more attention as awards season goes on, here's a guide on how to watch The Brutalist and whether it's streaming.

What is 'The Brutalist' about?

The Brutalist is an epic about the American immigrant experience, set in the aftermath of World War II. Brody stars as the fictional, renowned Jewish-Hungarian Brutalist-style architect László Toth, who studied at Bauhaus and was an artistic visionary across Europe before he was forced into the concentration camps. After surviving the war, he moves to the United States in hopes of starting anew and reuniting with his wife Erzsébet (Jones) and niece Zsófia (Raffey Cassidy), after they were separated. Eventually, once somewhat settled in the developing Pennsylvania, his path crosses with the wealthy investor and industrialist Harrison Lee Van Buren (Guy Pearce), who recognizes how underused his talent has been in America and taps him for a project.

Told in two parts with an epilogue (and the 15-minute intermission coming after the first section), The Brutalist is altogether an astounding cinematic feat exploring the flaws of the American dream and how ingrained otherness and struggle is in the nation's fabric. The film's scale—made against a budget under $10 million—is rather impressive, and though Toth is not a real figure or based on a real person, Corbet's attention to detail and Brody's performance makes him feel immensely lived-in and real.

How to watch 'The Brutalist'

To see The Brutalist right now, you will need to carve out time to head to the movies. The A24 film is exclusively in cinemas and opened in just several theaters in N.Y.C. and L.A. on December 20, with some special presentations in 70 mm. (The film was shot in VistaVision, a widescreen format developed in the '50s.) Since then, the film has expanded to more theaters in N.Y.C. and L.A., and by January 9, it will open in more locations across the country. It's set to continue expand to additional cities by January 23. You can check online for local listings.

Every screening of The Brutalist has a 15-minute intermission included—it's literally a still that is part of the movie—likely so to not scare moviegoers away from its runtime. But seriously, do not fear the length: The drama moves and it's worth seeing on the big screen.

When will 'The Brutalist' come to streaming?

It's yet to be announced when The Brutalist will arrive on streaming. When it does, it should premiere on Max, since it's an A24 release and that's where the production house/distributor has an output deal.

Because the film was one of the most successful limited releases of 2024 and Corbet's intention was always to create a grand film with an intermission, it seems the movie still stay in theaters for quite some time. It may even continue to expand to more markets as awards season carries on and it ranks up more nominations. (Nominations for the 2025 Oscars will be announced January 17, ahead of the awards show on March 2.)

However, it may debut for at-home rental on platforms like Prime Video and Apple TV+ in the coming months, but a VOD release date has yet to be announced as well.

As for its Max release, we'd guess it won't appear on the streamer until at least late spring or summer.

Karla Sofía Gascón shared a powerful message at the 2025 Golden Globes when she and the Emilia Pérez team accepted the Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy award.

After the film's writer/director, French filmmaker Jacques Audiard, said via a translator that he did not have a speech prepared, star and transgender actress Gascón took over the microphone and shared a moving statement, seemingly directed at the trans community.

"I chose these colors—the Buddhist colors—tonight because I have a message for you: The light always wins over darkness," she said, referring to the yellow and orange hues of her Saint Laurent gown.

Gascón continued, "I have a lot of things to say to you because you can maybe put us in jail. You come beat us up, but you can never take away our soul, our existence, our identity."

The Emilia Pérez star then concluded with a message of hope and encouragement: "And I want to say to you, raise your voice…and say, 'I am who I am, not who you want.'"

Gascón made history this year as the first out trans performer nominated in a top film acting category at the Globes. She portrays the titular character in Audiard's controversial musical drama, which follows a Mexican cartel boss's gender transition.

The Spanish actress stars opposite Zoe Saldaña, Selena Gomez, Adriana Paz, Mark Ivanir, and Édgar Ramírez.

Emilia Peréz—which received a record-breaking 10 total nominations at this year's Globes—earned awards for Best Non-English Movie, Best Original Song, and Best Supporting Actress for Saldaña. Gascón was nominated in the same category as Saldaña, while Gomez was up for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her performance in the film (as well as Best Actress in a Television Series — Musical or Comedy for her work on Only Murders in the Building).

In the Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy category, Emilia Peréz competed against Anora, Challengers, A Real Pain, The Substance, and Wicked.

History, as they say, was destined to repeat. But Jenner was happy to provide shock value in another form: Her archival Versace dress for the evening, which had a first life supporting a major Hollywood couple of the 1990s.

(Chalamet's portrayal of Bob Dylan was nominated for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy.) Next to Elle Fanning in a voluminous Balmain gown and Monica Barbaro in shimmering Dior, the Kardashians star glistened in a nearly-backless chainmail dress. From the front, it featured a cowl neckline and a slim-fitting silhouette, all created from molten silver metal.

One fellow attendee, Hugh Grant, might have recognized the dress at the same moment fashion lovers did. Before Jenner's stylists, Alexandra and Mackenzie Grandquist, plucked it from the Versace archive, it was last seen on Elizabeth Hurley—when she wore it as Grant's date to a 1999 CFDA Awards dinner.

Nearly 30 years ago, Hurley styled the dress with bombshell waves and a glittering top handle bag. The Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Award-winning actress and producer has been a mainstay in the entertainment industry for decades, and is widely considered by many to be one of the greatest actors of her generation. But she's not only an EGOTer, she's a fierce advocate and activist for human rights.

And during the ceremony for the Cecil B. DeMille Award—an honorary Golden Globe Award bestowed for "outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment"—Davis brought the whole room to tears in an unscripted speech that showcased just how far she's come and how much she's overcome to become one of the most venerated actresses of her time.

"I was born into a life that just simply did not make sense," she explained. "I didn't fit in. I was born into abject poverty. I was mischievous. I was imaginative. I was rambunctious. But I was also poor. Growing up in a house with alcoholism and rage, infested with rats everywhere, and toilets that never worked," a younger version of Davis never imagined a life for herself as big as the one she now has.

But for all the material and other things that her young life lacked, "what I had was magic," she said. "I was curious, and you know what my magic was? That I could teleport. I could take myself out of this worthless world and relieve myself of it at times. I could go to a place where I could belly laugh, where I could have fun—and the biggest magic was? I could see people."

Zendaya only revealed the look to the world when she stood up for photos with Ayo Edebiri, who skipped the red carpet in a custom Loewe suit styled by Danielle Goldberg. The actress also appeared to have another surprise in store: Fans clocked what appeared to be a diamond engagement ring on her left hand. (While the sparkly accessory doesn't mean a thing until Zendaya says so, she had some telling reactions that seemed to confirm the news when approached inside the ceremony.)

With access like Zendaya's, one can't blame her for squeezing a few looks into a single awards night. When she hosted the 2024 Met Gala last May, she couldn't help but wear not one, not two, but three custom dresses over the course of the evening. Her looks began with a gothic blue Maison Margiela Artisanal by John Galliano gown, followed by a second lap up the Met steps in a voluminous second gown from John Galliano's Givenchy era—plus a hat resembling a bouquet. But in the years since, that lyric has proven to be 100 percent true in the most literal sense. For years, fans have honored the movie's most famous fashion moment, wearing their own versions of "the heart of the ocean" diamond necklace Kate Winslet owns in the film.

Before presenting at the 2025 Golden Globe awards, Kate Hudson used the event's star-studded red carpet to offer her own take on the iconic look. She attended the Dec. 5 event wearing a diamond necklace that she called "very Titanic." Reminiscent of Rose Dewitt Bukater's "la coeur de la mer," the extravagant piece featured a humongous, sapphire blue stone which was surrounded by dozens of tiny diamonds.

In the film, Rose's necklace was made of a "very rare" heart-shaped diamond that once belonged to King Louis XVI. Hudson's, however, was pear-shaped and notably smaller—though none the less dazzling. Hers also sat on an intricate choker-style design, while the original featured a delicate diamond chain and a sparkling halo.

Though Rose's on-screen wardrobe was comprised of beaded empire-waist gowns typical of the Edwardian era, Hudson's ensemble was far more modern. She wore a voluminous Carolina Herrera ballgown covered in 3D rose appliques. However, its midnight blue coloring made the dress feel in line with Hudson's Titanic-inspired theme.

Coincidentally, the real Rose DeWitt Bukater also made an appearance on the Globes red carpet. Kate Winslet, who played the main character on screen, was nominated for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture—Drama for her work in Lee, as well as Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, or a Motion Picture Made for Television for The Regime.

It seems that she, too, used the occasion to honor her breakout role. Winslet was dressed all in white, donning a custom Erdem suit embellished with black roses.

Demi Moore won her first major acting award at the 2025 Golden Globes and used her acceptance speech to honor women who struggle to "know the value of your worth."

As she took to the stage on Sunday, January 5 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in L.A. to accept the Golden Globe for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for her performance in The Substance, Moore said she was "in shock" at her win for the body-horror film, and pointed out that it was her first-ever prestigious acting award.

"I’ve been doing this a long time—like over 45 years—and this is the first time I’ve ever won anything as an actor," the star, 62, began. "I'm just so humbled and so grateful. 30 years ago, I had a producer tell me that I was 'a popcorn actress' and at that time, I made that mean that this wasn't something that I wasn’t something that I was allowed to have, that I could do movies that were successful, that made a lot of money, but that I couldn't be acknowledged."

"I bought in and I believed that. And that corroded me over time to the point where I thought a few years ago that maybe this was it, maybe I was complete, maybe I've done what I was supposed to do. As I was at kind of a low point, I had this magical bold, courageous, out-of-the-box, absolutely bonkers script come across my desk called The Substance, and the universe told me that you're not done."

She concluded by referring to how the themes of The Substance—which follows an aging fitness star as she undergoes a risky procedure that makes her a younger double—resonate. Stars like Anya Taylor-Joy and Ariana Grande made deliberate pulls from their favorite designers' archives; Zendaya, meanwhile, shut down the carpet in custom Louis Vuitton that payed homage to Old Hollywood in a completely fresh way. (She also ever-so-casually appeared to debut her diamond engagement ring.) Cynthia Erivo arrived in dazzling Louis Vuitton and Mikey Madison glittered in Bottega Veneta. And then there was Selena Gomez, looking like a vision in Prada (and her enormous engagement ring). Yeah, I was glad I tuned in.

Elphaba green might have flown for a final time in 2024. For her first awards season red carpet, Wicked star Cynthia Erivo left the Emerald City, and an emerald palette, behind. Instead, she and stylist Jason Bolden tapped Louis Vuitton for a custom black gown coated in floral-shaped crystal embellishments. There's still plenty of magic in the way her dress's accents reflect swirling galaxies from afar—and the way they complement the equally bright shine of her 6-carat diamond manicure. Bottom line: On-the-nose method dressing, like the wicked witch of the west, appears to be vanquished for good.

Elle Fanning and stylist Samantha McMillen love a vintage reference. Yet her 2025 Golden Globes Balmain gown wasn't quite as overtly a nod to the '60s as the Gucci and Dior she's previously worn on A Complete Unknown's red carpet tour. Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco were the couple of the night, but fans didn't see the pair's carriage pull up to the Golden Globes red carpet. Instead, they showed off their Disney princess and prince outfits inside the venue. Gomez was resplendent in Cinderella-blue Prada gown styled by Erin Walsh, while Blanco was dashing in a white suit. Weeks ago, Gomez's diamond engagement ring got all the headlines on account of its impressive size and value. But it looked positively demure next to her baby-blue, off-the-shoulder gown and dramatic side-parted bob. She also added a few new sparklers, courtesy of Tiffany & Co.: a necklace and rings via the Tiffany Blue Book Collection, Tiffany diamond stud earrings, and a second Tiffany ring. Compared to her recent billionaire white suit and slew of black dresses, this was a softer, sweeter number I loved like a love song. (And I hope she keeps styling looks like this on repeat throughout awards season.)

Years before she was nominated for a Golden Globe, Margaret Qualley closed one of Chanel's Paris Fashion Week shows as its bride. Cut to 2025: She attended this year's awards ceremony in a tiered confection of a dress by the same house, styled by Patricia Villirillo. Qualley often chooses Chanel for her red-carpet events, but this one hit different. Perhaps it was the stark-but-sweet bow belt at her waist, or the glisten of sparkler-like diamond earrings beneath her dark hair. Either way, I couldn't help but say "I do" to this look.

For most stars, referencing "Old Hollywood" amounts to pulling on some elbow-length gloves. For Zendaya and Law Roach, there's more homework involved. The actress arrived at the 2025 Golden Globes in a Louis Vuitton gown steeped in history. Her custom piece, Roach revealed on Instagram Stories, was both a hat-tip to the designs of Zelda Wynn Valdes, an African-American costume designer, and Joyce Bryant, a nightclub singer of the 1940s. In her mid-twentieth century heyday, Valdes designed pieces for Dorothy Dandridge, Ella Fitzgerald, and Gladys Knight; she was also the first Black woman to open a dress-making business on Broadway, and she is often credited with creating the Playboy Bunny look. Meanwhile, on the radio waves, Bryant challenged censors while styling herself in bombshell fashion. (She's often referred to as the "Black Marilyn Monroe.")

Z paid homage to these figures' signature glamour in her sculptural bodice, exaggerated train, and yards of luscious citrus satin. Topped with a Bulgari diamond and tourmaline necklace, the Challengers star expertly brought the past into the present.

Ariana Grande is nowhere near finished makingWicked references with her red carpet style—but she's branching out from bubbly Glinda pinks and "Popular" French manicures. She and stylist Mimi Cuttrell instead looked to the Yellow Brick Road, and the Givenchy archives, for their 2025 Golden Globes look. The result? A beaded, butter yellow gown with a sloping, ruffled skirt. Styled with a bouncy ponytail, a glittering crystal necklace, and elbow-length gloves, Grande reminded me of another vintage reference: Audrey Hepburn circa My Fair Lady.

Tilda Swinton wearing Chanel

Tilda Swinton's Golden Globe-nominated movie The Room Next Door explores the contours of a longstanding (and complicated) friendship. In its own special way, her collarless Chanel jacket and column skirt do the exact same thing. Swinton referred to the artisans at the house's Paris atelier as her "friends" in a red carpet interview with Variety. Friends who've dressed her for countless award ceremonies, dinners, and events; friends who know the star doesn't need more than a subtly shimmering jacket and an elegant skirt to look like an award-winner. Another close confidante brought the look to life: Jerry Stafford, who counts Swinton among his close-knit list of clients.

In Black Doves, Keira Knightley alternates between a loving mother and a lethal spy with a wardrobe to match each role. On the 2025 Golden Globes red carpet, she definitely dressed to kill. The actress worked with stylist Leith Clark to concoct a sleek and seductive look, starting with a Chanel slip dress featuring a sequined bodice and a feather-trimmed skirt. Paired with a sleek, short bob and a tough black manicure, Knightley looked more like a modern black swan than a demure dove.

I admit it: I grinned when I first saw her gown and bold red lip, too.

Where to start with Anya Taylor-Joy: her archival Dior dress, or the 64-carat Tiffany & Co. necklace she paired with it? Her slinky, blush pink dress, her coordinating fringe shawl, and her opulent floral collar necklace all conveyed the refinement defining her recent red-carpet style. Some vintage pulls are more about the history than the person wearing it, but this set fit Taylor-Joy to a T.
