While the $990 Vittorias were absent from Demna's first runway shows as creative director, they still achieved It-shoe status once released in stores. The 2-inch-tall flip-flops—made from nappa leather or monogrammed canvas—landed four months ago, alongside the rest of the Spring 2026 collection (Demna's Gucci debut). "GucciCore serves as a homecoming for the house, staged in Times Square, one of New York's most ubiquitous symbols, against the backdrop of its digital billboards and screens. It distills the essence of Gucci as a visual language into a collection built around a new core wardrobe."

The runway, which wound its way through Times Square itself, featured the likes of supermodel Cindy Crawford, sporting legend Tom Brady, and reality star turned entrepreneur (and ADHD advocate) Paris Hilton.

Demna's interpretation, which released with his surprise Spring 2026 collection, couldn't have been a more straightforward manifestation of the Italian phrase. Despite just launching in February, the Gucci Borsetto has already joined the closets of Dua Lipa, Demi Moore, Kate Moss, and more.

Dua Lipa's Gucci Borsetto made its Instagram debut on March 10, when she carried the "Dark Brown Suede" color clutch-style on top of The Attico's bomber jacket, a sheer feather-trimmed dress, and peekaboo underwear. The pop star hid the bag's horsebit and "Web" stripe under her shoulder, but its chocolatey suede and yellow gold hardware confirmed it was indeed the Borsetto.

Tyla, on the other hand, displayed her slightly-smaller Borsetto front and center. Why wouldn't she? It amplified her outfit's early-aughts aesthetic. By Paris Fashion Week, she paired the medium brown bag with an equally-nostalgic bandeau top and lace-up, army green capri pants.

Meanwhile in Milan, Demi Moore and stylist Brad Goreski had no issues tracking down a leather jacket, straight-leg jeans, and medium-sized Gucci Borsetto. The bag's horsebit emblem complemented the hardware atop her pointy Gucci pumps.

Back on L.A.'s street style scene, Kate Moss broke in the larger leather bag a month before starring in Gucci's Borsetto campaign. She styled it similarly, with black on top and '90s-esque cigarette jeans on the bottom. By the time the "Beauty and the Bag" photoshoot rolled around, Moss became acquainted with the monogram canvas and brown suede variations. Knowing Gucci, the latter two could be in her closet as we speak.

Speaking of the bigger Gucci Borsetto, it's become the go-to everyday bag for some of fashion's buzziest insiders, including Paris Hilton. Where else would she debut Demna's It bag than at his first runway show as lead designer? She chose the same black, $3,450 carry-all as Kate Moss. The tomato-red shade of her long-sleeve dress brought out the bag's matching stripe.

Supermodels Alex Consani and Vittoria Cerretti are proud large Borsetto babes, too. Two weeks before she strutted down Demna's Gucci runway, Consani modeled the east-west Borsetto in New York City. Like other A-list fans, she leaned into the bag's noughties vibe with flared, light-wash jeans and a cropped bomber jacket.

Last weekend, Ratajkowski dusted off her modeling shoes for Demna's debut runway show at Gucci. By Tuesday, she jetted from Milan to Paris Fashion Week, simultaneously putting her spectator cap back on. Photographers captured a pre-show EmRata outside the greenhouse-turned-catwalk Dior Venue, dressed in a full-coverage, minimalist set.

Look 41 from Dior's Pre-Fall 2026 show became her plus-one. Stark white satin wrapped halter-style around her neck, before meeting as two voluminous bows behind her mid-thighs. The February 27 runway show came with a lot of hype, after all. It was creative director Demna's first proper fashion show for the label, though he'd officially started designing in 2025. (Actors including Demi Moore modeled his first collection last September in a short film called The Tiger.) Now, with the initial 38-piece collection in stores, the brand turned back to the runway for a celebrity-filled affair. Familiar faces were everywhere, from Gabbriette and Alex Consani to Karlie Kloss, in her first Fashion Month gig since Schiaparelli's Spring 2024 Couture show two Januarys ago. Her khaki midi skirt—covered in Gucci's interlocking Gs—echoed the collection's '90s tone.

Elsa Hosk also ended her runway hiatus with Gucci, albeit in a more off-duty outfit. Her track pants and trench coat combination couldn't have been more different from Emily Ratajkowski's 'fit. Fresh off Tory Burch's Fall 2026 runway, EmRata showed the Gucci girl's party side in a micro-mini, crystal-covered dress. Rhinestones were a leading motif from beginning to end, too: Kate Moss's black turtleneck dress brought them back to close the collection. If that didn't feel Gucci by Tom Ford-adjacent enough, its open back revealed the new-and-improved Gucci thong, as teased by Hailey Bieber last November.

This time around, Demna gave her the honor closing his Fall 2026 show in a glamorous black rhinestone dress. What started as a sleek turtleneck bodice transformed into an entirely open back, which highlighted her whale-tail thong. A metallic silver clutch upped the post-1995 party feel of Moss's final look.

Karlie Kloss

The centerpiece of Karlie Kloss's set was, without a doubt, her khaki pencil skirt. Its recognizable "GG" monogram stood out alongside a black oversize sweater, horsebit-topped pumps, and a matching, patent leather top-handle bag. Kloss is used to pulling off the circa-1933 monogram: It enveloped her entire metallic gold mini at the 2017 Met Gala.

Alex Consani

Alex Consani—the blonde backdrop of Demna's $48,000 tiger-print Spring 2026 coat—is officially his runway muse, too. It's not a Gucci show without at least one naked dress. This time, Gabbriette had the honor of showcasing the short-sleeve, lacy mesh mini. A matching G-string thong emerged from beneath the Nasty Cherry singer's transparent, thigh-hugging hem. The eye-catching elements continued with peep-toe, sky-high mules.

The 21-year-old model left quite an impression on the Fall 2026 catwalk. Her single-sleeve, turtleneck gown proved she's one to watch this Fashion Month and beyond. She even executed two-tone accessories as effortlessly as Consani and Moss.

Amelia Gray

All signs pointed to Demna introducing pantaboots, or something like them, at Gucci. (He couldn't get enough of them in his former role at Balenciaga.) Amelia Gray was the model who got the honor of wearing them down the runway, paired to a skintight white T-shirt and black leggings-turned-socks, stacked into horsebit mules. A croc-embossed burgundy bag all but secured this set a spot in Kylie Jenner's closet.

Mariacarla Boscono

Being in Milan, it's only right Demna cast an Italian model in his Gucci show. Mariacarla Boscono re-joined the ranks in a black, Morticia Addams-esque gown. Her black semi-sheer tights peeked through the thigh-high slit. It marked Boscono's first Gucci runway walk since 2009, after years sitting in Alessandro Michele's front rows.

Rihanna turned 38 on Friday, February 20, and she did so wearing an immaculate Gucci leopard-print fur coat, which was designed by Tom Ford.

A$AP Rocky reportedly planned a surprise birthday dinner at Rihanna's favorite restaurant, Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, California. Throwing her outfit all the way back to the late '90s, Rihanna bundled up in a rabbit and fox fur cropped jacket from Gucci's Fall/Winter 1999 Ready-to-Wear collection, when Tom Ford was at the helm.

Pieces from this particular Gucci collection continue to trade hands for thousands of dollars, making Rihanna's birthday jacket a rare find.

Keke Palmer's press tour for Peacock's new TV show, The 'Burbs, is a series within itself. The pilot look, day one's archival Alaïa bodysuit, got rave reviews. By the February 5 premiere, fashion girls were hooked. How couldn't they be when Palmer arrived in head-to-toe Gucci monogram pieces?

Two days after Palmer wore a Dior by John Galliano Fall 2003 dress on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, she resurfaced in L.A. wearing her first non-archival look for The 'Burbs. Instead, stylist Molly Dickson sourced Demna's first Gucci collection as creative director: Look 16 from the Spring 2026 lineup, to be specific. The luxury house's circa-1933 emblem decorated every nook and cranny of Palmer's selects, beginning with a leather trench coat buttoned to the top. A nearly-invisible belt—plus a snake-shaped buckle—turned the coat into a fit-and-flare midi dress.

Demna named this look "La V.I.C." (the very important client), and no luxury shopper's look is complete without matching accessories. Therefore, Gucci's monogram motif stretched onto Palmer's pointy knee-high boots, which traded patent leather for matte canvas. Demna's reimagined Gucci Jackie 1961 Bag also nixed the lacquered garnish, giving the $2,950 shoulder style the vintage-y charm of yesteryear's Jackies.

The hero piece of "La V.I.C." turned Palmer's Gucci set into a method dressing moment. Following the model's lead, the actor wrapped a monogram hair scarf around her copper pixie cut. Tying its chocolate brown trim beneath her chin was a move straight out of 1950s suburbia. Similar kerchiefs—minus Gucci's recognizable logo—shielded Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Jackie Kennedy, and even Marilyn Monroe's hair in the nostalgic, rich-mom way. Palmer's oversize, tortoiseshell sunglasses really drove the anti-tradwife theme home.

Not just any fashion muse gets to loan looks from Gucci's unreleased lines. Luckily for Palmer, she had an in with Demna. Last September, directors Spike Jonze and Halina Reijn cast the actor in Gucci's short film, The Tiger, alongside Demi Moore, Kendall Jenner, Alex Consani, and more.

Palmer portrayed Monica Gucci in three contrasting—yet equally cinematic—looks, including a $15,000 shearling coat in sky blue. Next, she changed into Demna's "La Princepessa" design: a bubblegum pink gown, lined with feathers along the collar, cuffs, and hem. Palmer also pulled off the "Primadonna" poncho, which boasted the same khaki monogram as her red carpet pick.

It's unclear if Palmer plans to go full suburb-mode for future The 'Burbs events, but Gucci's Spring 2026 line is flooded with characters in the same sartorial vein. Or, if she's open to non-Gucci picks, might we suggest the apron dress trend? It's a "disruptive feminist symbol," as fashion features editor Emma Childs puts it.

The turtleneck is less a trend and more a personality type. And if it’s good enough for Diane Keaton, Nancy Meyers, and the entire canon of women who dress like they read hardcovers and own excellent cookware, it's certainly good enough for me.

I’ve always had a soft spot for a cashmere turtleneck—the kind that feels like a warm, elegant hug—but recently, I’ve fallen hard for Toteme's high-neck sweaters in particular. They strike that elusive balance between polish and ease: they're tailored without being stiff, minimal without feeling boring. This is not a sweater that asks questions or demands styling theatrics. It simply shows up and does the work.

On days when inspiration is running low and my closet feels inexplicably hostile, this turtleneck is my quiet hero. I throw it on, and suddenly the outfit makes sense. Jeans look intentional. Trousers look chic. Even my posture improves slightly—placebo effect, perhaps, but I’ll take it. It’s the kind of wardrobe staple that elevates everything around it, lending an air of calm competence, as if I have somewhere important to be (even when I don’t). In short, this is the turtleneck that makes me feel like my life is marginally more together than it actually is—and honestly, that’s the highest praise I can give a sweater.

Similar Turtlenecks

Though it has been argued that fashion in the 2020s no longer looks solely to the runways for inspiration, they still very much matter. (Cue The Devil Wears Prada’s cerulean monologue.) As a stylist and writer by trade and wardrobing enthusiast by passion, it’s my duty to interpret these ideas and find ways for them to resonate with the everyday living and wearing of clothes. I still get a burst of energy anticipating the latest “drop” of a new season, especially from designers that tend to set the tone for the cultural zeitgeist and push forward a point of view we may not understand right out the gate, but are also prepared to be sick of. That’s fashion for ya!

For Spring 2026, I was surprised and delighted to see a lot of interesting styling propositions, rather than super trendy or unrealistic looks, which speaks to my “shop-your-closet” ethos. I was even more surprised and delighted to see a ton of layering—perfect for the long and drawn-out chill of the New England climate that envelops my home and drives my day-to-day dressing. (A mild winter basically continues through May, so I rely heavily on inventive layering to hold my interest until bare legs season.)

In the bleakness of January, I drew from three runway looks that fed my investigative styling craving, and left me with fashion crumbs to satiate me sartorially until the need for layers gives way: Prada’s colorful pile-on, Loewe’s shirts-on-shirts-on-shirts, and Thom Browne’s heavy-handed stripes. These all felt very already-in-my-closet-able and, dare I say, quite wearable? Here’s how to do it.

Colorblocking Layers

Miuccia Prada is my first point of reference for styling just about anything. I can always count on her to serve up something interesting and, in most cases, somewhat accessible. Prada—which she now co-designs with Raf Simons—is rife with cultural references spanning several decades and lifestyles, which usually include beautifully designed staples that can be easily replicated in affordable ways. (No shade to Prada whatsoever.)

Cobalt blue and bright red underpinnings gave this outfit that pop-of-color energy, while the seafoam green Howlin’ wool sweater and a smattering of otherwise “boring” old reliables in black, white, and tan grounded the look in reality. It felt effortless and not very try-hard for an outfit that can pretty much handle any social outing this winter and spring throws my way.

For the purposes of this exercise, I jumped to the colorblocking layers of the Spring 2026 collection to build my look from pieces I had in my closet already. I used a formula I found in most of the looks: mixing primary pops, pastels, and neutrals, split evenly throughout my look.

Shirts-On-Shirts-On-Shirts

Upon reviewing Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez’s buzzy debut at Loewe, I was immediately intrigued by the layering of cotton button-downs, and was set on trying this out.

Wearing three shirts was surprisingly warm on a 20-degree day, but I did feel a little kooky, I won’t lie. (Note: They absolutely cannot be fitted. Go oversized, and your elbow crease will thank you.)

The original outfit paired this sartorial risk with an anorak and no pants, so I had to improvise with a boxy wool coat that felt Loewe-esque, black leggings, and my favorite old Céline sock booties to create that streamlined leg, but for winter. I added a pop of bright color in my handbag for another nod to the primary colors peppered throughout the collection and a wintry hat to bring this back to the reality of the current season. I look forward to warmer days to try these layered shirts again with a lighter jacket on top—but maybe just two next time, to ease outside observers into the idea, and definitely with tiny shorts so the hems can peek out, mimicking other looks seen on the runway.

Super Stripes

Thom Browne’s fantastical shows are always thrilling to attend, and the extravagance of the masterful looks fail to disappoint. What I do find interesting about the collection is that, once you break it all down, most of the pieces are based on a very simple code that seldom has changed in the 25 years the brand has been in business: tweed suits, graphic piped blazers, cricket sweaters, and pleated skirts, usually blown up or shrunken in proportions to give them an offbeat twist.

For Spring 2026, Thom Browne’s layering point of view was to pile on stripes and tweeds to create puffy and bulky shapes.

I definitely wanted to see if I could pull this off, but, unfortunately, I didn’t have enough striped outerwear to really give this the bold vibe reflected on the runway. Still, I liked the reality of where I landed.

I took some of my favorite Sacai pieces to bring this to life, including a mixed-striped shirt dress and funky purple wool jacket with contrasting leather piping. I added an old Dries van Noten vertical striped wool skirt on top, and grounded it with some black leather accessories. I think the key to keeping this from going too nuts is making sure all the lines are running the same direction. (I tried bringing in something with horizontal stripes, and it just looked frantic.) I will definitely wear this for a daytime friend date or dinner with family. I don’t think anyone could really object to too many stripes.

The holiday season has arrived, and celebrities are plucking the chicest outfits from their closets to attend glitzy Christmas parties. On Friday, December 19, Olivia Rodrigo pulled her best vintage Gucci mini dress for Lily Allen's "Naughty or Nice" holiday party at London's Stringfellows strip club. Meanwhile, the "West End Girl" singer channeled Mrs. Claus with a risqué twist.
