She sourced Jacquemus again to complement her collarless black jacket. To finish her paddock outfit, pointy Prada mules resumed the red color story, from below blue jeans from Frame.

Perhaps Alexandra left her mark on London's celebrity style circuit. A day later, Charlize Theron attended a local after-party for The Odyssey in custom Givenchy, which featured a velvet, scarlet cowl-neck dress and black leather gloves from the Fall 2026 fashion show, as well as black T-strap heels.

While The Odyssey stars declared the duo an eveningwear essential, Monica Barbaro followed Lawrence's lead in NYC with a more casual look. The Givenchy two-piece that inspired Theron's custom dress (an asymmetrical cowl-neck top styled over barrel-leg trousers) first debuted on the runway in March.

Also at Paris Fashion Week, Chanel sent out a cap-sleeve column dress with contrasting splotches of maroon and black. Some of creative director Matthieu Blazy's more subtle takes on the trend limited red to the accessory department—drop-waist belts, croc-embossed bags, coat collars, and even oversized buttons—while black served as the foundation.

We'll never know if Balenciaga's red-and-black look inspired Lawrence, but the leather jacket and leggings bore a resemblance to her Pilates outfit. J.Law's baggy windbreaker wasn't too far a shape-shift from the brand's bomber's funnel-neck collar.

Meanwhile, Celine's Fall 2026 collection tapped into the skirt-over-pants trend, with a ribbed long-sleeve turtleneck and ultra-high-rise trousers. The model's bowler hat and top-handle tote gave the color combination a Western twist, without losing its superhero suave.

Before Jonathan Anderson unveiled his first collection as Dior's creative director last October, fashion people wondered how he would reimagine the most iconic house codes. First, he stamped every single style with Dior's original lowercase logo. Then, he gave the Book Tote a more literal makeover, trading the Toile de Jouy Sauvage motif for actual book covers. Last but not least, the grand finale: never-before-seen accessories like the Cigale Bag joined the Spring 2026 lineup.

The designer's take on the one-strap bag trend appeared in more shades and finishes than any other Anderson-era purse, including black, burgundy, peony pink, terracotta alligator, and even Himalayan croc. Each version brought its Fall 1952 namesake—Christian Dior's equally architectural "La Cigale" dress—back to life as a strong yet graceful It bag.

Anderson told Business of Fashion the Cigale is one of his "favorite dresses in history," setting high expectations for its accessory conversion. "I was never going to start Dior without referring to it, because for me, it is one of the greatest feats of engineering in terms of a dress." A press release further revealed he was especially inspired by the tea-length dress's "fitted bodice, full moiré skirt, and pronounced pleats."

As the eye scans the silhouette, the Cigale Bag mirrors the artifact's structural, lean-to-voluminous evolution. The dress—which also influenced former lead designers like Raf Simons and Maria Grazia Chuiri—is proof a reference this timeless will never run the risk of feeling overdone.

Before the Cigale became a pop star essential, Monica Barbaro and Greta Lee styled the trapezoidal, top-handle tote in Dior's Paris Fashion Week front row. Lee modeled the bag's metal-ring bow beneath sky blue leather, a Spring 2026 color trend that didn't make it on the runway. Then, fellow brand ambassador Barbaro gave the peony pink Cigale an off-the-catwalk close-up.

Within minutes, the One Night Only star's bag took center stage in Anderson's debut fashion show. Fashion people in the front row probably didn't put two and two together that quickly. But before long, constant Cigale sightings were guaranteed.

Within weeks, Dior Cigale became a fixture of pop star fashion. Ariana Grande was absent from Anderson's first womenswear front row, but clearly, she and her stylist, Law Roach, watched from afar. The black Cigale modernized the Grammy winner's vintage-heavy Dior collection in the midst of her Wicked: For Good press tour.

The Dior Cigale is collecting It colors left and right, but in the end, it's Hollywood's most beloved black bag of 2026. Everybody needs one, even Taylor Swift. One month after the pop star fueled Toy Story 5 soundtrack rumors with Anderson's Pixar ball-yellow Lady Dior, the black Cigale third-wheeled Swift's date night at the NBA Eastern Conference Finals.

As if the Dior Cigale wasn't enviable enough, more endorsements from Jennifer Lawrence, Karlie Kloss, and Charli xcx proved it's already becoming a status symbol. Try as I might, green has become one of those colors I know not to touch. My color analyst even told me shades like emerald, mint, and even sage are "no good" against my skin tone. But I haven't given the chartreuse color trend a fair chance. Jennifer Lawrence's night-out look on May 31 told me not to renounce green just yet.

I'm just as pale as my favorite fashion girl (if not more). That said, if she can pull off a chartreuse co-ord, so can I, right? I haven't had to use one band-aid on my ankles this spring, and I don't expect to. I never imagined a style seen on Tod's, Loro Piana, Maison Margiela, and Fendi's spring runways would prioritize comfort without neglecting style. Needless to say, I'm sold.

Their hiatus couldn't have ended at a better time: The treads match Spring 2026's leading "garden tomato" color trend. Lawrence tested it herself last week with Adidas Tokyo sneakers. This time, Dunes were surprisingly vibrant compared to her chocolate brown cardigan and floral-printed pants. But believe it or not, the perpetually sold-out, $690 slides weren't Lawrence's priciest pick. That honor goes to a Jonathan Anderson-era Dior bag.

When I opened my laptop this morning to a new Jennifer Lawrence street-style pic, I expected to clock her beloved Adidas Tokyo sneakers, or maybe a Spring 2026 shoe trend like heeled flip-flops. But, for her April 13 errands run in New York City, she threw us a throwback curveball with her footwear.

Lawrence was photographed in Adidas stripes, yes, except atop the brand's Adilette rubber slides. (You know the ones.) Whereas last summer, she couldn't get enough of her Manolo Blahnik toe-ring sandals, it seems she went deeper in her closet to resurrect the casual $40 slip-ons. And she pulled them off with a white T-shirt, a black duster cardigan, satin Dissh pants, a studded shopper bag from Gimaguas.

At first glance, I figured Lawrence got her hands on the Adilette Comfort 2.0 Slides, featuring the same bandage uppers and extra-cushioned soles we know and love, except with an early 2026 re-release date. (It was a quiet drop, because the pronounced arches and toe grooves were subtle switches.)

However, J.Law wore the OG slippers on repeat as early as June 2021, continuing for two summers straight. I'll need Adidas to enter the chat, but while awaiting confirmation, I noticed the white stripes on yesterday's pair appear slightly thicker (something new that comes with Adilette 2.0s). Once a street style novelty, the top-strapped sneaker is now a constant among freaky shoe connoisseurs, including Jennifer Lawrence, Dua Lipa, and the best-dressed guests at fashion month. Factor in recent luxury fashion adoptions from Louis Vuitton and Miu Miu, as well as Kim Kardashian partnering with Nike on a SKIMS version of its Rift, and it’s irrefutable: Mary Jane sneakers are running laps around every other 2026 sneaker trend.

Rather, they’ve surpassed being trendy to become something else entirely—something far more valuable than a buzzy one-off sneaker collab or a specific, celebrity-endorsed pair. “A rare example of a silhouette that feels both subversive and enduring at the same time, Mary Jane sneakers are moving beyond trend status into a shoe with real staying power,” says Speed. In sneaker terms, they’ve become as fundamental a design as a high-top or chunky platform.

But the success of Mary Jane sneakers goes beyond being a new, slightly left-of-center shape for sneakerheads to experiment with. “It signals something the industry has been slow to admit: women's sneaker culture has its own momentum, and it doesn't need to borrow from men's,” says Nick Engvall, a sneaker industry veteran with over 15 years of experience and the founder of the podcast and newsletter Sneaker History.

“For years, the big brand playbook was ‘shrink it and pink it,’ but the Mary Jane sneaker trend is proof that it’s changed. The ballet influence, the silhouette, the feminine design details, and even material and color choices are intentional now. It took a while, but the industry is finally following women's lead instead of asking them to follow,” he says. A sneaker designed with women shoppers in mind, one that’s playful, experimental, and genuinely feels fresh? Who could have predicted such financial and cultural success?

Lyst’s Speed has the numbers to back up Engvall’s observation: “What we’re seeing in the data is a shift away from conventional streetwear or performance-led trainers towards styles that carry a sense of nostalgia and femininity, but with a slightly offbeat edge.”

That girly-with-grit design aesthetic perfectly sums up the work of designer Cecilie Bahnsen, who played with sporty Mary Jane shoes long before her best-selling partnership with Asics in 2022 took shape. The same goes for Simone Rocha. The Irish designer has made unconventional Mary Jane sneakers her signature, dating back to the thickly stacked platform pairs introduced in her Spring 2021 collection. I’m not alone in liking eyewear that evokes insects this season. From the googly-eyed guests sitting front row at fashion month to celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence and Pamela Anderson going incognito in giant, alien-like lenses, oversized sunnies are very much in favor with fashion people right now. Balenciaga sent massive butterfly-wing-shaped shades down its Spring 2026 runway, which RiRi and Rosalia were quick to wear out into the real world. Saint Laurent and Khaite also showed thick, bubble-frame sunglasses that were quick hits with editors watching from the sidelines, always on the lookout for effective ways to hide their dark circles.

Fashion month aside, I see women everywhere in New York City wearing sunnies the size of saucers, including indoors and hours after sunset, at J.Crew press events (last Tuesday) and the back corner of cozy wine bars (last Friday). And I’m only human. Which is to say, of course, I’m capable of being influenced and now also want creepy-crawler, 60mm frames.

But the boom of oversized eyewear does align with the fashion industry’s slow creep away from quiet luxury. In recent seasons, the stock of expressive personal style has shot way up. The goal now is to show that you have something individual to say, rather than following the lead of others. Shades that camouflage a third of your face and morph your features into a cartoon are a strong statement—an undeniably glamorous one at that.

I think of the immortal muse for ladylike poise, Jackie Kennedy Onassis. Ultra-round sunglasses were such a strong signature of the former first lady’s style that eyewear atelier Maison Bonnet designed a bespoke pair for her in 1960, and Ray-Ban named its best-selling oversized shades “Jackie Ohh”. I’d also be remiss not to mention the paparazzi-blockers of the early aughts—Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen dodging camera flashes under the cloak of circular shades.

They say the less skin an outfit shows, the sexier it becomes. I’ll add that it’s the same effect on your face with eyewear. Oversized shades serve as privacy protectors and, as a result, cultivate an aura of intrigue and mystery. You become inscrutable and automatically cool in big, bug-eye sunnies, even if you’re only wearing them to hide a hangover or eyebrows overdue for a plucking. As Anna Wintour said about her trademark large, dark frames, they’re “a prop” that helps her “be seen and not be seen.”

Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy minimalists might find the sunglass shape garish and outside of their comfort zone of clean lines and subtlety. Some may still only want to wear slimmer shapes, no matter how big the bug-eye sunglasses trend gets.

I just ask them to consider this gentle suggestion; if you, like me, have felt your style lacking substance and intrigue lately, sunnies that are more substantial could be the fix. She was impossible to miss in the completely transparent piece, featuring bambi-like spots from top to bottom. It was so sheer, you could spot the Grammy winner's thong and belly-button piercing.

Its only opaque pieces adorned the bust and hips, leaving her abdomen and legs on full display beneath black chiffon.

Yes, only the top half of Rita Ora's Tamara Ralph Spring 2026 Couture gown was see-through. Even so, the high-neck bodice fulfilled the naked quota (and then some). This week, I’ve been locked in on all things Fashion Month: big debuts at Fendi, Gucci, and Marni; surprise model castings at Prada (hi, Bella Hadid!); and fall trends taking shape all over. This point in a fashion editor’s calendar is the Webster’s Dictionary definition of busy. In moments like these, I’m scanning A-listers’ outfits for styling tips that can bring my outfits together faster than you can say “Birkin bag.” And that, my friends, is how I landed on the one-step accessory trend ahead for this week’s edit. No, it’s not an elusive, five-figure bag—it’s a lot more accessible.

’90s-inspired cords with a big pendant are the necklace du jour among the most stylish women I follow. While the look got a stamp of approval on the Spring 2026 runways (meaning, a lot of great options to shop are hitting stores now), celebrities soft-launched their comeback as early as last summer. The likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Daisy Edgar-Jones, and the aforementioned Hadid sister are still very much on board. It’s the last step to making everything from a white button-up shirt or crewneck sweater to a slinky, deep-V top look that much more intentional.

The mixed materials and earthy pendants tend to feel very boho. (Another celeb-backed trend that hasn’t died down yet.) But as you’ll see with the way I style them, you don’t have to be a free spirit counting down to Coachella to wear them.

How I Style It

I call this the Olsen Tuck: necklace version. Instead of leaving my hair nonchalantly inside my sweater or coat, I tuck the back half of a pendant inside a tall rollneck and let the charm or stone peek out. With billowy pants and a nice leather loafer, it’s the finishing touch to an outfit that looks considered, but is very, very comfortable.

I still spend a lot of time in virtual meetings. My shorter pendant necklace with a big, unmistakable stone has lately been a compliment magnet in back-to-back Zooms. This Líe Studio version joined my collection right around Copenhagen Fashion Week, and has been my favorite finishing touch ever since. I love how the silver chain coordinates with my piercings—and how it shines against a cool-toned top.

Browsing Nordstrom's sale section is singlehandedly responsible for making me a sneakerhead. Last year alone, I scored Taylor Swift's New Balance 1906Rs and Dakota Johnson's Nike V2Ks, both for upwards of $30 off. Now, my 2026 is off to a similar start: Nordstrom marked down Jennifer Lawrence's Adidas Taekwondo Sneakers, all but pushing the "Add to Cart" button for me.

Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale won't return until this summer, but with some free time and determination, I scored the aforementioned sneakers for 50 percent off. On any given Wednesday, the low-profile, slip-on Taekwondos would set me back $100. Out of the kindness of its heart, Nordstrom made the lace-free, leather trainers on Lawrence's shoe rack just $50. (I feel like I owe the retailer at least a "thank you" card.)

I've had my eye on the Adidas Taekwondos for nearly a year, since Lawrence debuted their super-stitched, rounded toeboxes in March 2025. Adidas's signature white stripes, plus blink-and-you'll-miss-them ballet sneaker soles, shot them to the top of my wish list. Now, it's as if Nordstrom knew they still hold my top spot. I can finally style the black-and-white Taekwondos the Lawrence way: with the duffle coat trend and a leopard-print bag.

Since I already had The Shoppies (to quote Marie Claire editor-in-chief Nikki Ogunnaike), I decided to check if Nordstrom also marked down the Adidas Tokyo Sneakers. The Taekwondo's equally-low-top, $90 sister—another sneaker fresh from Lawrence's street style—was slashed 40 percent to $54. The Die, My Love star wore a white pair with red stripes last April, which remain $90. Blue patent leather Tokyos, on the other hand, are up for grabs. Plus, they're closer to the color combination in Olivia Rodrigo's closet. You bet I secured the cerulean-and-metallic silver sneakers faster than you can say "Taekwondo."

Shop On-Sale Sneakers Inspired by Jennifer Lawrence

With Chanel as a leading sponsor of Angelina Jolie's Couture, fans expected its leading lady to commence her press tour in a Matthieu Blazy design. Instead, a custom naked dress from Givenchy's Sarah Burton joined Jolie at the February 9 Paris premiere.

Fresh off the heels of Paris Haute Couture Week, Jolie could've had her pick of the Spring 2026 Couture crop before the Couture screening. Even so, she went straight to Burton at Givenchy. Only the Alexander McQueen alum could get Jolie in her nakedest dress yet: a short-sleeve, ankle-grazing maxi crafted from near-invisible illusion mesh. Silver, strategically-placed sequins became timeless florals atop the otherwise trendy slip. Then, sequin fringe embroidery extended far beyond the nude underlay's hem; a surprisingly distressed switch compared to Burton's polished Spring 2026 pieces.

After flaunting her dress's complex profile, Jolie revealed its entirely open back. Behind-the-scenes mannequin shots showed a narrow clasp at the top of Jolie's spine, which kept the backless cutout secure. The fabric-free oval spotlighted the Oscar winner's back tattoo, before a nude, mini slip peeked through the sequins. The skirt also featured a knee-high slit up the back.

To finish, diamond stud earrings, a matching cocktail ring, and black satin Givenchy pumps acted as Jolie's only accessories. Who needs lots of jewelry when your dress filled the sparkle quota tenfold?

Burton's Givenchy is off to a strong—and sheer—start this year. In 2026 alone, Doechii, Renate Reinsve, and Jennifer Lawrence have all worn illusion looks from the British creative's mind. The 2026 Golden Globes welcomed Best Actress nominee Lawrence in the same nude tulle as Jolie's, except hers featured powder-pink floral embroidery decorated the floor-length gown. Spaghetti-thin straps, a V-neck bust, and the fit-and-flare skirt's hem housed fresh-from-the-vine botanicals. They only dispersed around the slim, under-bust cutouts and the sheer skirt's center.

At this point, naked dressing is officially a red carpet mainstay. So if designers like Burton want to partake in the trend-turned-standard, they have to use different fabrics, silhouettes, or practices to reinvent it.

For Burton's Givenchy, this means making sheer styles more whimsical. Adding coverage with florals or sequins might not sound inherently sultry, but it's romantic nonetheless. All of Jolie's borderline naked dresses—including her lace Elie Saab gown at the 2025 Critics Choice Awards—mirror this theme. It was only a matter of time before Burton's tender takes caught her eye.

Amal Clooney's trip to the 2026 Winter Olympics seemed to fly by as fast as Team USA figure skater Alysa Liu's short program. By February 8, the human rights lawyer already returned to the Milan Airport. She wasn't dressed in Olympics merch, either. Instead, a 2026 twist on the straight-leg jeans trend took the airport styling gold medal.

Less than 48 hours after she landed in Italy, paparazzi spotted Clooney in another travel-proof look. She traded Friday's matching Versace set—down to the leopard-print boots—for relaxed basics, beginning with a navy blue rollneck sweater and black peacoat.

The surprises continued with her first jeans in eleven months: an up-and-coming genre of straight-leg jeans. She slipped on a pair of not-quite-flared, not-quite-skinny pants, featuring a fresh-off-the-runway wash. Each leg hugged her thighs before slightly flaring out like the straight-leg styles of yesteryear. They stretched so far, Marie Claire couldn't ID her black boots. Clooney's handbag, on the other hand, was Chloé without a doubt.

Clooney's gold coat buttons matched the hardware atop Chloé's four-figure Camera Tote. Zip-fastening pockets were half the size of a buckled, top-flap pouch at the center of the east-west purse. The Sunday flight marked its public debut on Clooney's shoulder, but she's been shopping Chloé's boho-chic catalog for years. In fact, the last time she wore jeans out and about was with the brand's ultra-wide-leg pair last March.

Clooney's latest self-styling move might have been inspired by more avid denim wearers, like Jennifer Lawrence. Late last month, the New Yorker ditched classic Haute Couture Week dress codes for one of her fail-safe outfit formulas: a white tank top and jeans. Every element of Lawrence's Dior menswear pair—including the high-rise waist, elongated hems, and baby blue wash—was almost identical to Clooney's.

That same week, Rihanna tested the silhouette in New York City with a full-blown Canadian tuxedo. The straight-leg jeans stayed close to the star's thighs beneath the hem of her Saint Laurent bomber jacket. Then, the mid-wash legs widened just a bit to spotlight RiRi's tiger-print Alaïa pumps.

Celebrities are making the relaxed straight-leg style mainstream even before Spring 2026 collections hit stores. Since runway shows from Valentino, Loewe, Nina Ricci, and Bottega Veneta set the tone last September, it's no surprise the shape is having a moment right now. Just wait until Spring 2026 straight-leg styles actually become widely shoppable: They'll dominate denim drawers far and wide.

I rarely have more than one pair of jeans in my closet at a time. Not because I'm anti-denim, but because my trusty wide-leg jeans—though worn-out—are the only ones I can trust. The next day, Robbie switched gears with a rockstar-chic, low-rise pair. Only she could debut a velvet Chanel ballgown and Dilara Findikoglu jeans in the same Wuthering Heights press tour. Her black, buckle-heavy pair looked straight out of a London girl's closet, especially alongside a brocade corset.

If anyone can influence me to expand my denim horizons, it's Robbie, Bieber, and the It girls below. I don't know about you, but I'm feeling more confident than ever entering a dressing room with an armful of options. Once Bella Hadid emerged on Jan. 1 in white jeans, I wasted no time pulling mine out of retirement. Before then, I blissfully followed the "no white after Labor Day" rule, but the supermodel's Frame pair proved the right accessories can winterize them with ease. A black leather jacket and matching boots bookended the jeans in cool-girl charm; a set I copied right away on Jan. 2.

Hadid's not the only A-lister breaking the white jeans rules. Last November, Sienna Miller styled an almost-identical pair of white jeans with black shoes. That same month, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley re-wore her go-to Phoebe Philo jeans with (you guessed it) black heels. You're sensing the pattern here, right?

Amanda Seyfried's Two-Tone Jeans

Right in line with the '80s resurgence during Spring 2026 runway shows, Amanda Seyfried modernized the decade's two-tone jeans trend on Jan. 13. (It seems she's picking up where Katie Holmes and Jennifer Aniston left off last summer, although in more streamlined shades.) The actor's indigo and sky blue pair boasted vintage Silver Jeans tags. Similar combinations are shoppable in multiple washes. I'm especially drawn to Citizens of Humanity's pair, which is almost identical to Seyfried's.

When celebrities like Kylie and Kendall Jenner, Bieber, and Selena Gomez wore dark, almost black jeans to trend status last year, I followed suit. (Obviously.) Now, denim is becoming less indigo and more sky blue. Jennifer Lopez's Dior jeans on Jan. 14 were my blueprint for curating the edit below, minus the $1,700 price tag.
