She kept it closed, relying on her accessories to spruce up her autumnal look. The only difference between Moss and Chung's outfit formulas? The tan in her shoes was actually olive green. Plus, Chung's heels were slightly taller.

If Moss is reviving her Fashion Month schedule from February, she's en route to Milan Fashion Week as we speak. Though they both went for simple swimwear, their styling couldn't have been more different. Lila accessorized only with hoop earrings (a notably "carefree" choice), while Kate channeled the more polished "rich mom" aesthetic, in a diamond statement necklace and gold bangles. She finished with a pair of black sunglasses that looked like a mix between cat eye frames and wayfarers—a classic style made modern.

Though the pair are rarely seen together in public, it's always a sight to behold when they're side-by-side. They're sometimes spotted at London or Pairs Fashion Week, always sitting front row and always dressed to the nines. They've even been known to share the runway, having both walked in Fendi's Haute Couture show in 2021. All this is to say, the Mosses are a fashion force to be reckoned with—even when they're OOO.

Lila Moss spent the last month walking runways from Stella McCartney to Vivienne Westwood in over-the-top looks and possesses one of fashion’s most impressive pedigrees. (You already know the connection.) But the catwalk isn't her real life—and her current her holy grail beauty product couldn't be more low-key.

At a time when slick, shiny, nearly-reflective lips are a dominant 2024 beauty trend, “You've always got to have a lip gloss with you,” she tells Marie Claire. “I’m kind of always carrying around a lip gloss, like Candy Glaze.”

It's also gone viral on TikTok (several times). Peek at the reviews, and you’ll see effusive superlatives like “literally obsessed” and “absolute most favorite” repeated in the hundreds.

For beauty lovers who aren’t also full-time models, the lipstick-lipgloss hybrid is a go-to for all-day hydration and shine in several slightly pigmented shades. For Moss, the clear version is the only lippie she can rely on everywhere, from an international flight to a day of shows to a weekend off with ease; it's understated and versatile. “They have a nice kind of natural, pretty clear shade, that I just carry around and put on throughout the day,” she says.

Natural-looking makeup is also at the center of Moss's beauty inspiration moodboard. The model has closely tracked Pamela Anderson's commitment to going bare-faced and lipstick-free for every event.

“I don't think I'm fully there yet in terms of my skin and looking as incredible as her without makeup,” she says. “But I do think it's a goal to have a bit more stripped back of a look and just be powerful in your own skin.”

And if Moss finds subtly shimmery gloss impossible to quit, she's hardly the only one. “I use this daily and am in love with it," one reviewer writes. "I don’t think I can live without it.”

There’s nothing quite as sweet as a sartorial tribute—especially when it’s to your mother. And when your mother is supermodel Kate Moss, it’s easy to pay homage to her in fashion; when it comes to looks to replicate, the choices seem endless.

Kate’s daughter Lila channeled her at last night’s Fashion Awards in London, where she recreated Kate’s most iconic sheer look in a gown by Albanian designer Nensi Dojaka. Lila’s look was reminiscent of Kate from September 1993, when she wore a slip dress by Liza Bruce to Elite Model Agency’s Look of the Year event at the London Hilton Hotel. In photos from the event, Kate stands alongside fellow supermodel Naomi Campbell and smokes a cigarette in what became known as “the naked dress.”

“I did not know that this dress was see through until the pictures came out the next day in the newspaper,” Kate told British Vogue. “It was the flash that made it look naked, because actually the fabric when I was wearing it, when I went out, I didn’t think it was that see through. But obviously, it was.”

According to Vogue, Lila honored her mother in yet another way, wearing vintage gold earrings borrowed from Kate. Her dress featured lingerie-inspired details with a pleated bralette, and she wore Saint Laurent mules by Anthony Vaccarello. 

“I love to feel elegant, chic, and sexy, and Nensi’s designs are the perfect balance of all of these vibes, so I’m feeling confident,” Lila said of her collaboration with Dojaka, who was one of the evening’s nominees. She called it a “very classic” silhouette of the designer’s, and added “In some ways, it reminds me of armor.”

Dojaka had similar praise for Lila, saying of her that she “is the perfect example of a young woman unafraid to set her own rules—her confidence makes her embrace her sensuality, and she’s the ideal fit for the Nensi Dojaka woman who’s owning her femininity.”

If imitation is the highest form of flattery, then imitation by your daughter is flattery of an even elevated level. “I began to realize how fascinated people were by ‘Kate Moss, the supermodel,’” Lila told British Vogue in a recent cover story. “It’s only at, like, 15 or 16 that I began to realize she might actually be pretty cool.” Lila added that her mom “always kept her work life separate from our home life. Though I do have one memory of her taking me with her to a Topshop meeting, and everything grinding to a halt while she tried to teach me how to blow a bubble with bubblegum for the first time.” 

Mother and daughter have walked the red carpet together, notably at the 2023 Met Gala, when they wore coordinating baby pink looks by Fendi. They also walked the Vogue World show during London Fashion Week this fall.
