Princess Beatrice will mark her 38th birthday on Saturday, August 8, and this year’s celebrations will likely look a little different for King Charles’s niece. She’s been relatively absent from public life after her father was arrested in February, and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor biographer Andrew Lownie says that the tough period Beatrice and her sister Eugenie have been going through is unlikely to change much this year.

Lownie, who wrote the bestselling book Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, told the Daily Mail that this weekend's birthday “will not be an easy one” for Princess Beatrice due to “the state of her title, her marriage and her business activities.”

“Much has changed for the York family since Beatrice's last birthday,” the author continued. Since last August, the princess’s father was stripped of his titles and honors, evicted from his home, Royal Lodge, and arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office. Meanwhile, mom Sarah Ferguson has been “in hiding abroad.”

Rumors about Beatrice experiencing marital troubles with husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi have been buzzing for months amid the scandals with her parents, and this year, Mapelli Mozzi, who often posts tributes to his wife on social media, stayed quiet on their anniversary.

On top of her family stress, Lownie admits that the publication of his book as well as Andrew accuser Virginia Giuffre’s posthumous memoir, Nobody’s Girl, haven’t made life easier for the eldest York sister.

Although they did join the Royal Family for Christmas 2025, Beatrice and Eugenie didn't head to Windsor for Easter and skipped Royal Ascot this year. The sisters did attend cousin Peter Phillips's wedding to Harriet Sperling, making their only appearance of the year with the Royal Family on June 6.

Lownie says that another pressing issue with Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie is the “questions raised over the daughters' subsidized accommodation at St James's Palace and Kensington Palace though not working royals.” After it was uncovered that Mountbatten-Windsor was living practically rent-free at Royal Lodge, his daughter's living arrangements have made headlines in recent months, along with questions over whether they should keep their titles.

Despite everything going on, the York family does have one big reason to celebrate this week, aside from Beatrice's birthday. Princess Eugenie gave birth to a baby girl on August 3, sharing a sweet photo on Instagram of the yet-to-be-named little girl, who was born in Portugal, where Eugenie and husband Jack have a second home.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been staying out of the spotlight since he was evicted from Royal Lodge and moved to the Sandringham estate earlier this year, but over the weekend, the former Duke of York made his first public appearance of 2026 while supporting two senior members of the Royal Family.

The ex-duke was spotted attending the Sandringham Horse Driving Trials on Sunday, June 28, where Duchess Sophie was competing. Her husband, Prince Edward, was also at the equestrian event, although the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh's daughter, Lady Louise, who typically competes in the carriage driving trials, didn't attend this year.

In photos shared by the Sun, Andrew is wearing a light blue shirt and sunglasses as he drives himself home from the event in his Land Rover. An onlooker told the publication that “Andrew sneaked in and sneaked out and definitely didn’t want to be seen.”

“But I saw Andrew leave the field at 10:30 a.m., just after Sophie had ridden her round, then I saw Edward walking towards his car smiling shortly afterwards,” the attendee added.

The Sandringham Horse Driving Trials were created by Prince Philip in 1982, and both the Duchess of Edinburgh and Lady Louise have followed in his footsteps with their love of the sport. Sophie took part in the "SanDrivingHam" Challenge, showing off her carriage driving skills on the estate.

Prince Edward, dressed casually in a green polo shirt, was not seen interacting with his brother, but is reported to be staying at Wood Farm, where Andrew previously lived on the estate before moving to his permanent home, Marsh Farm.

King Charles has implemented a slew of changes within the Royal Family in 2026, many of which relate to his brother, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. The former Prince Andrew found himself mentioned in a plethora of documents contained in the Jeffrey Epstein files, leading to a permanent Royal Family demotion. Now, royal sources are discussing the alleged ban Andrew has been given regarding several regal events he previously attended.

On June 15, King Charles joined Princess Kate and Prince William for the Order of the Garter service at Windsor Castle, which honors the achievements of people throughout the country and inducts them into the special group. The ex-Duke of York was a member of the Order and previously attended Garter Day annually, either publicly or privately.

Discussing the huge change for Andrew, one royal source told the Daily Express, "He's become used to watching his family celebrate Trooping [the Colour] without him, but Garter Day will be a really tough day for him."

When King Charles removed Andrew's royal titles and banished him from his public role within the Royal Family, he also removed Andrew's membership to the Order of the Garter.

The source continued, "It's one of those days that reminds him of all that he's lost. He's feeling more isolated than ever; he's completely alone."

In 2025, King Charles reportedly made a special allowance for his brother regarding Garter Day. As a source previously told the Express, "He won't participate in the procession but he has been invited to the lunch and investiture."

According to the outlet, Prince Andrew's "inclusion in the private aspects [was] seen as a compromise by both sides." But in 2026, there will be no such concession for the disgraced royal.

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie made a rare appearance with the Royal Family when they attended their cousin Peter Phillips’s wedding to Harriet Sperling on June 6. The duo’s disgraced parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, were not invited to the royal wedding of the year, but the York sisters attended alongside King Charles, Prince William and the rest of their family. Despite being “warmly welcomed,” royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said that fans shouldn’t expect the sisters to be making official family appearances soon.

“This was a private royal event, therefore it was natural that Beatrice and Eugenie attended and were warmly welcomed,” Fitzwilliams told GB News. “However, their problem remains that they are still in the eye of an unravelling storm, however unfairly, because of their parents, who are notorious.”

Ex-Prince Andrew was arrested in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office, and the investigation into the former Duke of York has since expanded into other offenses such as possible sexual crimes. Although they were pictured hugging and kissing their royal cousins at the wedding, held in the village of Kemble, England, Fitzwilliams points out that a public appearance for Eugenie and Beatrice is a different matter.

“It will therefore present a problem as their presence at an official royal event would, at this time with their parents in disgrace, overshadow it,” he said.

Multiple royal sources have reported that the sisters were banned from Royal Ascot this year, but in April, Hello! magazine reported that The King extended an invitation to his nieces if they’d like to come.

“The question is, would they want to go to a public event of that nature?” a friend of Beatrice and Eugenie told the outlet. “They will get criticism whether they go or not—and not just that event. They just can't win.”

A survivor of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse has spoken out after the news that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is being investigated for possible sex crimes. Jess Michaels, who was sexually assaulted by Epstein in 1991, told the Telegraph that the Royal Family protected the former Duke of York despite knowing six years ago that he’d allegedly shared confidential information in his role as a U.K. trade envoy.

“Six years ago, the palace knew Andrew wasn’t just a problem, he could face a criminal investigation. And they sat on it,” Michaels said in a statement to the media outlet.

Michaels was 22 and working as a professional dancer in New York City when she was assaulted by Epstein in the ‘90s. She said that the consequences of the monarchy sitting on this information were wide-ranging for the women who suffered under Epstein, including the late Virginia Giuffre.

“Protecting him meant doubting her. Virginia Roberts Giuffre was telling the truth, and she didn’t live to see them admit it,” Michaels said. “That breaks my heart and it should break everyone’s.”

She added, “This is what institutions do. They protect powerful men and leave the people they harmed to carry it.”

The former Duke of York was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office in February, and in May, Thames Valley Police announced they were looking into other alleged offenses, including sexual misconduct. One incident is an encounter with a waitress at Royal Ascot, who has accused Andrew of behaving inappropriately during Queen Elizabeth's 2002 Golden Jubilee year.

Andrew has vehemently denied any wrongdoing over the years.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor will not be riding in the carriages with his family during Royal Ascot next month, and now police have confirmed that they’re looking into an allegation that he “behaved inappropriately” at the famed horse race nearly 25 years ago.

Per the Sunday Times, the alleged incident happened with a woman at Ascot during Queen Elizabeth’s Golden Jubilee in 2002. The former Duke of York was pictured attending the races on multiple days that June alongside the late Queen, King Charles, Prince Edward, and other senior royals.

“We cannot go into specifics of the investigation, but we are following all reasonable lines of enquiry,” a spokeswoman for Thames Valley Police said.

On Friday, May 22, Thames Valley Police announced that they were broadening their investigation into Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor after he was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office in February. This includes possible sex offenses, and police asked the public to come forward with any information on Friday.

Assistant Chief Constable Oliver Wright at Thames Valley Police at Thames Valley Police noted that there could be people with information who are too fearful of coming forward. “There is a risk that the victim survivors may be put off from contacting us because they feel the weight of public, national and international focus will be too much for them,” he said.

“Whenever a ­victim-survivor is ready to engage with us, we’re ready for you, at whatever point that may be,” Wright added.

It’s unknown if the Royal Ascot incident was reported at the time or if the woman came forward recently. However, when it comes to the broader investigation, the Sunday Times reported that “investigators are now working their way through a list of key witnesses, including former ­cabinet ministers, royal officials and senior civil servants.”

Queen Elizabeth remains loved by people around the globe. When she died on September 8, 2022, tributes poured in from royal fans worldwide. Even though the late monarch is remembered positively for a smorgasbord of reasons, she wasn't without her flaws, per one royal expert.

Writing for the Express, deputy royal editor Rebecca Russell referenced a memo from 2000 released earlier this week, which revealed that Queen Elizabeth lobbied for Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's role as trade envoy. The former Duke of York would go on to become the U.K.'s special representative for international trade and investment between 2001 and 2011.

"[E]very legendary leader has to have a tragic flaw," Russell wrote for the Express. "Achilles had his heel. Othello was plagued by jealousy. Caesar had Brutus. And Queen Elizabeth II? She had Andrew."

Importantly, Russell celebrated the late monarch's many successes and the fact she "weathered countless storms," "economic crises," and multiple Royal Family dramas.

"She truly was impeccable; there will never be another like her, and she'd be a daunting act to follow for anyone," the royal expert noted. "But in the same breath, it's not treacherous to admit that she had a blind spot."

Of course, no-one is perfect. But Queen Elizabeth's so-called "flaw" allegedly allowed her disgraced son to benefit from his royal status.

As Russell explained, "It's just unfortunate that her [flaw] came in the shape of a second son with an insufferable sense of self-entitlement and a stalwart refusal to show even the faintest whiff of sympathy for the suffering of others, namely [Jeffrey] Epstein's victims, despite being given every opportunity to do so."

Russell called the release of additional details about Queen Elizabeth's undying support for Andrew as "the ghost of that unconditional love." When it came to the former duke, Queen Elizabeth was reportedly committed to providing him with many opportunities, along with her unending assistance, to her own detriment.

It’s not often that members of the Royal Family publicly bring up Prince Harry or Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, but Mike Tindall made a rare comment about some of his wife’s family members while attending the Hay Literary Festival in Wales this week.

The “Good, The Bad and The Rugby” podcaster—who married Princess Anne’s daughter, Zara Tindall, in 2011—attended the event with his co-hosts James Haskell and Alex Payne. During their live conversation, the trio, who are all former professional rugby players, reminisced on Mike and Zara’s royal wedding.

According to Hello! magazine, Mike noted that he was shocked that Haskell, in particular, hadn’t humiliated himself at the wedding. “A lot of other people managed that way better than you—[like] Harry, when he was fun,” he quipped.

The former England rugby player didn’t elaborate on what kind of antics Harry got up to at his wedding reception, which was held at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh following a ceremony at Canongate Kirk.

The Tindalls are not known to be close to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle following their move to California. They do, however, spend time with Prince William and his family, with Princess Charlotte and Mike and Zara's daughter, Mia Tindall, dubbed as being “double trouble.”

In addition to referencing Prince Harry, Mike also made a comment about the former Duke of York. When Payne made a joke about his friend having a “bedroom at Buckingham Palace,” Mike quipped, “Opposite end to Andrew though.”

Detectives said they're looking into potential sexual offenses after the BBC reported that Jeffrey Epstein allegedly sent a woman in her twenties to Windsor to have sex with Andrew in 2010.

In February, the BBC reported that a woman in her twenties “was sent to the U.K. by Jeffrey Epstein for a sexual encounter with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor” in 2010. In the Thames Valley Police’s latest update, the force said they have been in contact with the woman’s lawyer.

“We have engaged with the woman's legal representative to confirm that, should she wish to report this to police, it will be taken seriously and handled with care, sensitivity and respect for her privacy and her right for anonymity,” the statement read.

The former Duke of York has consistently denied any wrongdoing when it comes to allegations of sexual crimes and his friendship with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Thames Valley Police also announced that detectives have “been working with the United States Department of Justice to get further information that may be related to this investigation.”

Scotland was a place that remained close to Queen Elizabeth’s heart her entire life, and now her private rooms at the Palace of Holyroodhouse are open to the public for the first time. The Royal Collection Trust announced on May 21 that the late Queen’s personal apartments at the Edinburgh palace will be open for 100 days to celebrate what would’ve been her 100th birthday—and one detail gives a small insight into Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s personality.

The former Duke of York has a fondness for stuffed animals, especially teddy bears, and former staff members have shared his very specific requests for how they’re arranged on his bed. It turns out the late Queen had her own teddy rules, as the Palace of Holyroodhouse’s curator, Emma Stead, told Hello!

Visitors to the palace will see a small bear wearing a tartan scarf and hat on the sofa in Queen Elizabeth’s private apartments, and the outlet shared that the late monarch named him Haddington after the town of the same name in Scotland.

“The Queen was given him as a gift and after that she asked that whenever she arrived here, he be placed in that particular position on the sofa awaiting her arrival,” Stead said. “She had a few personal objects that she liked to be placed quite precisely.”

Another curator, Richard Williams, said that staff members would reference photos of the rooms so they knew everything was put back where the late Queen wanted it.

“All we can say is the Queen was very particular and that [the bear] always would have gone there,” Williams said, adding, “I know from staff colleagues in Windsor that if they were going to redecorate her private rooms, they would take photos of everything so that they could put things back in the exact spot.”

The photo trick was something Andrew used for his own teddies, as former royal police officer Paul Page revealed in the ITV documentary Ghislaine, Prince Andrew And The Paedophile (via The Sun).

Page said that Andrew’s bed “had about 50 or 60 stuffed toys positioned and there was a card in a drawer. It was a picture of these bears all in situ. The reason for the laminated picture was that if those bears weren't put back in the right order by the maids, he would shout and scream.”

Former Buckingham Palace maid Charlotte Briggs also discussed Andrew’s teddy specifications during an interview with the Sun in 2022. “As soon as I got the job, I was told about the teddies and it was drilled into me how he wanted them,” she said. “I even had a day's training. Everything had to be just right. It was so peculiar.”

“The teddies had to be in a particular order on his four-poster bed, from the biggest at the back, down to the smallest at the front,” Briggs revealed. “All 72 of them.”

Fortunately, Queen Elizabeth only had one bear, and shouting and screaming wasn't quite her style.

Documents that reveal Queen Elizabeth’s stance on former Prince Andrew’s U.K. trade envoy role have been released, and the papers include some unusual demands made by Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Copies of the documents were published in the Daily Mail on May 21, and a letter addressed to the Foreign and Commonwealth Secretary and Secretary of State shows that it was “The Queen’s wish” for Andrew to replace the Duke of Kent as a U.K. trade envoy.

The 2000 letter, written by Sir David Wright, Chief Executive of British Trade International, details a conversation Wright had with Queen Elizabeth’s private secretary. “The Queen is very keen that the Duke of York should take on a prominent role in the promotion of national interests,” the letter reads, adding that “no other member of the Royal Family would be available” to take the position on.

Another letter, written by Kathryn Colvin, Head of Protocol Division, revealed the former Duke of York’s preferences when related to traveling on behalf of the U.K. She noted that his private secretary told her that Andrew “tended to prefer the more sophisticated countries, particularly those in the lead on technology”—but the rest of the sentence is redacted from the document.

As for the types of engagements he wanted to attend, Colvin said that Andrew “was particularly good on high-tech matters” along with events related to young people, but preferred “ballet rather than theatre.”

Although Andrew has been a passionate golfer for years, his private secretary made one very specific request related to his trade envoy work. “Captain Blair particularly asked that The Duke of York should not be offered golfing functions abroad,” the letter said. It continued that even if “he took his clubs with him,” Andrew “would not play in any public sense.”

Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office after e-mails allegedly showed that he shared confidential documents with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

A spokesman for the government said that more documents will be released in due course, and although Andrew did not have business experience, there was “no evidence that a formal due diligence or vetting process was undertaken, and there's no evidence that this was considered.”

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has retreated from public life following his Royal Family demotion. Having left Royal Lodge in Windsor for a much more modest property on the Sandringham estate, the former Duke of York is rarely seen anymore. But according to one royal expert, the Royal Family is unlikely to ever "ostracize" Andrew "completely."

Speaking to GB News, royal commentator Rafe Heydel-Mankoo discussed Andrew's new normal, saying, "This situation...intersects family loyalty, public outrage, and then you've got the survival of the monarchy, so you have three competing elements there."

As for why the royals won't totally eliminate Andrew from their lives, Heydel-Mankoo shared, "It's clear that His Majesty [King Charles] and the rest of the Royal Family care about their brother, their uncle, their cousin."

The expert continued, "Despite everything that's happened, he is part of their family, and there's obviously always going to be concern for his well-being and for his security. But at the same time, the monarchy has to be protected, and he understands."

Ultimately, Andrew "cannot be completely ostracized" from the Royal Family, according to Heydel-Mankoo. Still, the ex-Duke of York is allegedly quite "entitled," the royal expert claimed.

"Andrew's always believed that he's entitled to taxpayer-funded security and his titles and everything else," Heydel-Mankoo told the outlet. "It doesn't appear that he still understands quite why he's in the position he is in."

Heydel-Mankoo continued, "It's quite clear that from the perspective of the Royal Family and for the monarchy, the privileges of protection are inseparable from public service and public legitimacy—and he's lost both of those."

Considering Andrew's involvement in the recent slew of Epstein files, he appears to have lost any remaining support he might have had. As such, there is seemingly no way back to royal life for the disgraced ex-duke.

The royal wedding of the year is less than a month away, but when Princess Anne’s son, Peter Phillips, walks down the aisle with NHS nurse Harriet Sperling, three members of the Royal Family reportedly will not be in attendance.

A friend of the couple’s told Hello! magazine that the June 6 wedding—which marks the second marriage for both—will be “an intimate occasion with their close friends and immediate family around them in the Cotswolds.”

However, certain members of the Royal Family have reportedly not made the cut, according to the insider. “When and whether Andrew Mountbatten Windsor and Sarah Ferguson had been invited, it was probably not deemed appropriate to invite them. It’s Peter and Harriet’s special day, and clearly their attendance would cause a distraction to the whole day.”

The Royal Family has been keeping their distance from Andrew following his repeated scandals surrounding the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Prince Edward is the only royal who is known to have visited the ex-Duke of York in recent months following Andrew’s arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

Sarah and Andrew aside, there's a third member of the Royal Family who is reportedly not coming to the wedding. According to the couple's friend, Prince Harry will not be at the event.

“Peter and Harry haven’t spoken for several years and have simply lost touch, so he hasn’t been invited,” the source said.

Peter and Harriet will tie the knot at All Saints Church in the village of Kemble, close to Princess Anne's Gatcombe Park estate. Their friend said it's a meaningful location for both of them.

“It’s an area where they grew up and is very special to them both,” the insider said.

Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank announced they were expecting their third child on May 4, with the couple sharing their happy news on Instagram. But in a surprising move amid the scandals surrounding Eugenie's father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, Buckingham Palace also released a formal statement on the pregnancy. Eugenie and her older sister, Princess Beatrice, had previously been staying out of the public eye after their father’s arrest in February, but since the news broke, they’ve made several appearances. Now that the princesses are out and about again, one royal editor says that the Yorks could be making a comeback.

“Regardless of all that has gone on with her parents, this is wonderful news for Princess Eugenie and will give the whole royal family something positive to focus on after a tough few months,” Hello! magazine’s royal editor, Emily Nash, wrote in a piece for the outlet.

“It’s something joyful and hopeful in the middle of what has been a very grim chapter in the York family’s history,” Nash continued.

Baby Brooksbank will join big brothers August, 5, and Ernest, 2, and the new addition is expected to arrive this summer.

According to the Mail on Sunday, Princess Anne’s daughter, Zara Tindall, was the one who convinced Princess Eugenie to share her baby news with their uncle, The King. A source told the paper that Eugenie sent a letter to King Charles in an Easter card after skipping the royal festivities, and was “quite surprised by the warmth of the palace response.”

“The couple had feared a frostier reception and had been contemplating making a media announcement of their own without the palace being involved, but The King made contact and asked his officials to make a formal announcement,” the insider said.

Nash suggested that King Charles’s insistence on an official statement could mean a return to family events for Eugenie and Beatrice. “The King’s warm words show that he still has a great deal of affection for Eugenie and that he has not ostracised his nieces,” she wrote. “We might well start seeing them at family gatherings again.”

Throughout Queen Elizabeth's life, rumors suggested that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was her favorite child. In spite of the allegations against him, the late Queen reportedly attempted to protect Andrew. And according to one royal biographer, the ex-Duke of York was criticized for allegedly "hiding behind" his mother.

In his book The Queen: 70 Chapters in the Life of Queen Elizabeth II, royal author and expert Ian Lloyd shared, "In August 2021, when [Epstein and Andrew accuser, Virginia] Giuffre's lawyers tried to serve legal documents to [ex-Prince Andrew], he made it virtually impossible by staying with The Queen on the secluded Balmoral estate, giving rise to criticism that he was hiding behind his mother's skirt, so to speak."

Lloyd also alleged that, concurrently, the Royal Family's lawyers were on high alert regarding any news stories involving Andrew. "Meanwhile, [The Queen] instructed her solicitors to warn British media outlets not to take or publish paparazzi photos of the royals or their guests on the estate, though photos of an irate-looking Andrew did appear," Lloyd wrote.

Despite the serious accusations being made about Andrew, The Queen allegedly decided to help her so-called favorite son.

"The Queen's unconditional affection for her second son and her solidarity for him is understandable," Lloyd wrote in his book. "While it must have been a relief to her when, in February 2022, the prince made an out-of-court settlement with Virginia Giuffre, the fact that he knowingly associated himself with a convicted pedophile [Jeffrey Epstein] has caused irreparable damage to his reputation and that of the monarchy."

"That would undoubtedly have broken The Queen's heart and cast a blight on the final phase of her long reign," Lloyd shared.

While Andrew allegedly hid behind his mother during her life, his association with Epstein reportedly caused major damage to his familial relationships.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been staying out of the public eye since his February arrest, and has only been spotted a few times heading out of his new Sandringham home, Marsh Farm. But the Telegraph exclusively reported on Thursday, May 7, that the former Duke of York was threatened by a man wearing a balaclava on Wednesday night.

According to the outlet, “the man had been sitting in his car when he saw Mr Mountbatten-Windsor about 50 yards away” walking his dogs. He exited the vehicle and approached Andrew while “shouting at him,” but the ex-duke “rushed towards his own car, which was parked nearby.”

Andrew, who was accompanied by a protection officer, was then reportedly chased by the mask-wearing suspect, who ran after the royal's car as he “drove away at speed.”

Per the Telegraph, a police spokesperson stated, “Officers were called to Wolferton shortly after 7.30pm on Wednesday following a report that a man was behaving in an intimidating manner in the village. Officers attended, and the man was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and possession of an offensive weapon. He was taken to King’s Lynn Police Investigation Centre for questioning, and remains in custody.“

The outlet reported that Andrew “was shaken by the incident and was asked to provide a statement, as was his personal protection officer.“

The former Duke of York was arrested in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office after emails suggested he'd shared confidential documents with the late Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew was stripped of his titles and evicted from his longtime home, Royal Lodge, in October 2025 amid the ongoing scandals surrounding the ex-duke and Epstein.

Now that he lives on the Sandringham estate, Andrew's home and security is funded privately by The King.

Princess Eugenie has been quiet on Instagram since the news of her father’s arrest in February, but on Monday, May 4, she shared an exciting announcement with a little help from her sons, August and Ernest.

“Baby Brooksbank due 2026! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️👶🏻♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️” Eugenie captioned a sweet photo of August, 5, and Ernest, who will turn 3 at the end of May. In the picture, the boys are standing in front of a white picket fence and looking down at an ultrasound photo.

In turn, Buckingham Palace shared an official pregnancy announcement, writing, “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their third child together, due this summer.”

The palace shared that Ernest and August “are also very excited to have another sibling join the family” and that King Charles “has been informed and is delighted with the news.”

There was no mention of Princess Eugenie’s parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor or Sarah Ferguson, in the palace statement. However, the news release sends a strong message that Eugenie is still very much part of the Royal Family despite her father's scandals involving Jeffrey Epstein.

Eugenie and Jack’s happy announcement comes after paparazzi photos of the princess and her big sister, Princess Eugenie, were released while they were on a lunch date in London last Thursday. Later that evening, snaps of Eugenie showing off a prominent baby bump were taken following a dinner out with Jack in Notting Hill.

Before breaking her pregnancy news, Princess Eugenie shared some sweet photos of her husband, Jack, over the weekend to celebrate his 40th birthday. "Happy 40th my love.." she posted on her Instagram Story along with pictures of her husband on the beach and a throwback of them with Jack wearing a sombrero.

"Here's to another 16...xx" she ended the series of posts.

Princess Beatrice has been keeping a low profile amid the scandals surrounding her father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. The last time she was seen in public was in March, when the princess went on a date night with husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in London. But according to multiple outlets, Beatrice attended her stylist and close friend Olivia Buckingham’s recent baby shower and was also spotted loading luggage into a London taxi on April 30.

Buckingham shared photos from her shower on Instagram Thursday, thanking “all the love and incredible support from my friends and family near and far.” Although Beatrice was not pictured in any of the snapshots, Hello! reported that the princess did attend the event.

“It shows that her friends have remained by her side during difficult times and increased scrutiny after Andrew was arrested in February,” the outlet added.

The former Duke of York was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office for allegedly sharing confidential documents with the late Jeffrey Epstein in February. He's been staying out of the public eye at his new Sandringham estate home, Marsh Farm, while ex-wife Sarah Ferguson has been hiding out with friends in Europe.

As for Princess Beatrice's second appearance, the Daily Mail shared a video of the royal wheeling a personalized Louis Vuitton suitcase and two duffel bags into a waiting London taxi on April 30.

Although it's unclear what she wore to Buckingham's baby shower, Beatrice was dressed in a black floral Hill House Home midi skirt with a simple black crewneck sweater and Mary Jane flats as she got into her cab.

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have not been accused of any wrongdoing, but both sisters have avoided public events since their father's arrest. Neither of the sisters attended Easter services with the Royal Family in April, although royal sources have noted that The King welcomes his nieces to attend family events in the future.

Some Royal Family members appear to dislike being labeled as the "spare." Others, meanwhile, seem glad to avoid the responsibilities facing the heir apparent. According to one royal expert, one of Queen Elizabeth's children didn't like the so-called "royal pecking order" for an important reason.

In her book, My Mother and I, royal expert Ingrid Seward shared, "For 20 years, [ex-]Prince Andrew enjoyed basking in the glow of being the spare behind his older brother Prince Charles and in front of his sister Princess Anne. Andrew could be charming but he was spoiled, pampered, and...nothing was ever his fault."

Growing up without the pressure King Charles faced, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor reportedly developed "an inflated sense of entitlement and a sadly lacking sense of what was right and what was wrong." According to the royal biographer, Andrew's position caused him to feel as though "he knew everything and was allowed to get away with it."

Crucially, according to Seward, "[Andrew] never referred to himself as the spare because he didn't feel spare. He felt important."

Seward spoke to the Queen Mother's former equerry, Colin Burgess, who opened up about the ex-Duke of York's character.

"The royal pecking order didn't sit comfortably with him," Burgess explained. "He saw himself as a military officer, as a war veteran who had done a lot for his country, including risking his life in combat, and as an ambassador for his nation rather than an armchair royal who sits on the trappings of power without actually ever doing anything."

As a result, Andrew reportedly felt entitled to "the luxury of royalty."

Burgess elaborated, "In all honesty he wasn't a particularly nice person. He also was unable to relax and gave the impression of never being off duty without doing anything. He gave the impression he was there for himself and himself only."

And when it came to the "royal pecking order," Andrew allegedly wasn't a fan.

Having reigned for seven decades, Queen Elizabeth II's tenure as monarch was incomparable. But during her time as Queen, she endured a number of challenges and tragedies, some of which "would have broken" her heart, per one royal biography.

According to royal author Ian Lloyd, in his book The Queen: 70 Chapters in the Life of Queen Elizabeth II, "The [ex-Prince] Andrew case was no doubt awkward for The Queen." When Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor found himself embroiled in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, and was subsequently sued by sexual assault accuser Virginia Giuffre, the monarch reportedly found herself in an impossible situation.

Lloyd elaborated, "Once again, as the head of the Firm, her overriding concern was to preserve as much dignity and relevance for the monarchy, going into the next reign, as was possible. On the other hand, as a mother, it must have concerned her that her second son was in such a no-win situation."

The former Prince Andrew was widely believed to have been Queen Elizabeth's favorite child. "The Queen had always been close to her second son," per Lloyd. As such, it seems as though the late monarch allegedly protected the ex-Duke of York during numerous difficulties.

"The Queen's unconditional affection for her second son and her solidarity for him is understandable," Lloyd shared. "While it must have been a relief to her when, in February 2022, the prince made an out-of-court settlement with Virginia Giuffre, the fact that he knowingly associated himself with a convicted pedophile has caused irreparable damage to his reputation and that of the monarchy."

According to the royal author, Andrew's perceived denigration of the British monarchy likely had a hugely negative impact on Queen Elizabeth.

"That would undoubtedly have broken The Queen's heart and cast a blight on the final phase of her long reign," Lloyd wrote.

Mocktails are all the rage right now, and Princess Kate recently admitted that she doesn't drink much these days. But decades ago, it wasn’t as common to abstain from alcohol, especially within Britain. Queen Elizabeth enjoyed a gin and Dubonnet as part of her daily routine at Buckingham Palace, but her alcohol consumption came nothing close to the Queen Mother’s. Princess Margaret also was fond of a drink, but according to royal biographer Robert Hardman, Queen Elizabeth and her children didn’t follow their family members’ influence.

Describing her “tastes in both food and drink” as “unexotic,” Hardman wrote in his new biography of Queen Elizabeth that her “consumption” of everything was “careful” as compared to her sister, Margaret, and the Queen Mother.

“Her mother and sister were both famously thirsty,” Hardman wrote in Elizabeth II: In Private. In Public. Her Story. He describes a 1988 luncheon when diarist Victor Stock witnessed the Queen Mother working “her way through two glasses of gin and Dubonnet, followed by champagne, white wine and claret before being offered a closing glass of Chateau d’Yquem.”

In reply, the Queen Mother, who lived to the age of 101, exclaimed, “Oh no, I really couldn’t drink any more. I’ll just have a glass of champagne.” Hardman noted that Queen Elizabeth “would have stopped after the first or possibly second gin and Dubonnet” and she and Prince Philip passed their “steely self-restraint” on to their children.

Per Hardman, King Charles, Princess Anne, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Prince Edward “eat sparingly while the middle two are also teetotal.”

It’s not surprising that no-nonsense Princess Anne prefers to keep her wits about her, but it might come as a shock that Andrew doesn’t partake in alcohol. According to one of Hardman's sources, the former Duke of York said, “I tasted it once when I was a teenager, and I didn’t like it.”

Instead, he will only drink “room-temperature water,” with the source noting that Queen Elizabeth “would always worry about him” because Andrew “was a seven-year-old who never grew up.”

2026 seems to have been quite a challenging year for Sarah Ferguson. Having left the home she shared with her ex-husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, Ferguson disappeared from the public eye, and onlookers have been wondering what her next move might be. According to one royal source, the former Duchess of York refuses to follow in ex-Prince Andrew's footsteps in an important respect.

Reporting on the ex-royal's current situation, the Sun explained, "Sarah Ferguson has turned down a string of interview requests while in exile in Austria—including from BBC's Newsnight."

As royal fans know only too well, ex-Prince Andrew gave a disastrous interview on Newsnight in 2019, which subsequently contributed to his expulsion from royal life. Rather than attempting to tell her side of the story, Ferguson is apparently keeping quiet.

A royal source told the outlet, "She has had a lot of offers including from Newsnight but is spending her time reflecting and has no intention of speaking out."

Just last month, reports suggested that the ex-duchess had been "snubbed" and wouldn't be receiving a lucrative book deal in the wake of her involvement in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.

The Daily Mail alleged, "No-one wants to enable her to 'cash in on the Epstein scandal,' Hollywood sources say."

According to the outlet, the former Duchess of York had "pitched the idea of a tell-all memoir to major U.S. publishing houses...but all of them have rejected her."

An additional source told the publication, "Any notion she might have had about keeping her American dream alive now seems to have been killed off completely...Commercially, as the failed book deal shows, she has become a pariah."

Basically, Ferguson appears to be retreating from the spotlight for the time being, according to royal sources.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was evicted from Royal Lodge after he lost his titles and honors in October 2025, and he’s since relocated to The King’s Sandringham estate. Now that the former Duke of York is living at Marsh Farm, located on the monarch’s sprawling Norfolk, England property, he’s experienced a significant change in lifestyle. The disgraced royal has largely been keeping a low profile, minus a few instances of him being spotted walking his dogs. But on April 10, the Sandringham estate announced the special way Queen Elizabeth’s 100th birthday will be celebrated on its grounds.

The royal residence shared a Reel on Instagram featuring sunny, springtime scenes and special plaques marking milestones in the late Queen’s life situated along tree-lined paths. “Celebrating the centenary of Queen Elizabeth II’s birth, this exhibition explores her lifelong connection to The Sandringham Estate,” the Reel was captioned.

“From her earliest childhood years to her historic seventy-year reign, Sandringham remained a constant thread in her life,” the Reel continued.

According to the royal estate, “This special exhibition traces her extraordinary path, exploring both the global milestones of her reign and the personal mark she left on her cherished Norfolk home.”

Queen Elizabeth's centenary exhibition is free to access for visitors to the Sandringham estate and is located at the Sandringham Arboretum. It's unknown whether Andrew plans to visit the arboretum, which is located just a few minutes' drive from Marsh Farm.

Next week, multiple events will honor the late Queen's life and reign. King Charles and Queen Camilla will attend the Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style exhibition, and other senior royals will join Their Majesties to view plans for a national memorial to Queen Elizabeth. The Royal Family will also welcome VIP guests for a Buckingham Palace reception on April 21, including other members of the British public celebrating their 100th birthdays on the same date as the late Queen.

When Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was stripped of his titles and honors in October 2025, it was widely reported that Prince William had been a "driving force” behind King Charles’s decision. Although the Prince of Wales might not have wanted to inherit the “Andrew problem” in his own reign, a new biography of Queen Elizabeth claims that William was actually “one of the few people” who reached out to the former Duke of York to check on him.

In Elizabeth II: In Private. In Public. Her Story by Robert Hardman, the royal biographer wrote that Prince William made a surprising call to his uncle after the shocking title announcement was made last year.

“Some accounts suggested that he was the driving force behind his Uncle Andrew being stripped of his titles and honours and banished to a house on the Sandringham estate,” Hardman wrote. “One friend of the former Yorks, however, reported that on the night they lost their titles, Andrew had been very touched when Prince William was one of the few people to call to offer condolences.”

Royal editor Russell Myers presents a similar account of William's involvement with Andrew's titles in his recent biography, William and Catherine. Myers wrote that a senior palace source told him that Prince William and Princess Kate “supported The King’s actions” in removing Andrew’s titles and evicting him from Royal Lodge. “But it was entirely The King’s decision,” the insider added.

The Prince of Wales “was consulted” on the matter, but at the end of the day, the palace source says William “would not seek to demand anything of the monarch as he trusts his final judgement.”

In recent days, another member of the Royal Family checked in on Andrew, with his younger brother, Prince Edward, visiting Sandringham over the Easter holiday. According to the Daily Mail, Edward made “a brotherly welfare check” on Andrew at Wood Farm, where the former Duke of York was staying before he moved into his new home, Marsh Farm.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has long been considered Queen Elizabeth’s favorite child, but in a new interview, royal biographer Robert Hardman has lifted the lid on why the late monarch paid so much attention to her second son. Speaking on the Daily Mail’s “Queens, Kings and Dastardly Things” podcast, Hardman said that Queen Elizabeth saw Andrew as “vulnerable” compared to King Charles, Princess Anne and Prince Edward.

“He was not as bright as the others, he could be boorish and everyone knew that,” Hardman said of the former Duke of York. Queen Elizabeth, however, tended to give Andrew the benefit of the doubt. Despite Andrew's numerous scandals involving Jeffrey Epstein, the late Queen never formally removed his Duke of York or prince titles, a move King Charles made in October 2025.

Hardman, whose new biography of Queen Elizabeth releases April 9 in the U.K. and May 19 in the United States, said he feels the late Queen could have done more when it came to keeping Andrew in line.

“As we approach the 100th birthday of Elizabeth II, that's obviously there on the relatively short list of things she got wrong,” Hardman said, although he added, “I think she got a lot more right.”

Hardman revealed that former Prime Minister David Cameron told him stories about Andrew, sharing, “David Cameron said to me when I was writing the book, all the other members of the family knew the boundaries, they knew what they were supposed to do and what they shouldn't.”

Andrew, however, had an innate sense of entitlement. Hardman shared one incident about the former Duke of York on the Daily Mail's podcast, “There was this appalling moment where he actually punched the Master of the Royal Household,” the royal biographer revealed.

The former duke got upset because Sir Tony Johnstone-Burt, who still serves as Master of the Royal Household today, told him that a room he requested for an event was totally booked. “This ends with Andrew actually hitting the Master of the Royal Household,” Hardman said, adding that news of the incident was “raised up the chain of command” all the way to Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.

“When the Queen hears about it, she's not remotely surprised,” Hardman said. “I think we can understand where the Queen's sympathy lay because not long afterwards, the Master got a knighthood.”

Following renewed interest in her friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, Sarah Ferguson was forced to give up her royal titles and leave the home she shared with her ex-husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Now, a new report has alleged that, per a royal source, Ferguson "feels incredibly betrayed" by one senior Royal Family member.

As reported by Heat, an insider alleged, "Fergie's very bitter, she's angry, and feels wronged by everyone in the family." The royal source continued, "She doesn't have the guts to confront anyone but when she's had a couple of drinks that's when the liquid courage kicks in and when she starts unloading."

According to the source, there's one senior royal who appears to be the target of Ferguson's ire. "[Queen] Camilla's been getting the brunt of Sarah's fury," the insider claimed. "They were very close friends for years so Sarah feels incredibly betrayed."

According to the royal source, Ferguson is also allegedly haunted by recent events, following new revelations about her connection to convicted sex offender Epstein. "What people don't see is just how low she's sunk, every time she opens a paper or goes online it's another reminder that she's completely on the outside and there's no real way back, and she's really struggling to come to terms with that," the source told Heat.

The former Duchess of York also reportedly isn't "dealing with" the situation in a very healthy way. "She's numbing it, and that's only making everything worse because it fuels this cycle where she starts ranting and then feels even more isolated the next day," the source explained. "Not that she'll take any accountability, if you ask her she's got every right to speak her mind."

Basically, if Ferguson and Camilla really were "close friends" at one point in time, it seems unlikely they'd be able to continue their friendship following the latest batch of Epstein allegations.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is currently staying at Wood Farm on the Sandringham estate as his new home, Marsh Farm, undergoes renovations. According to two new reports, the former Prince Andrew has received his first Royal Family guest since moving out of Royal Lodge in Windsor. He's also faced a "major security breach" from alleged protestors.

As reported by the Daily Mail, "Prince Edward has become the first royal to visit Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor since he began his exile in Norfolk." The outlet also alleged that Edward visited his brother to deliver a "quiet word."

Per the publication, Prince Edward is allegedly "worried that Andrew is dragging his heels at his temporary accommodation before his permanent move to Marsh Farm, which is next door on the estate."

As Prince Edward often stays at Wood Farm with his family, he's apparently concerned about his sibling's "reluctance" when it comes to moving out of the vacation property and into his new home.

Meanwhile, a source told the Sun, "Edward has already publicly made his feelings clear when he expressed concern for the [Epstein] victims."

The source further alleged, "Edward was meant to be staying at Wood Farm as he regularly books it for Easter, but his brother was there." The publication also suggested that the Duke of Edinburgh "was the first family member to see Andrew in two months."

Andrew's life in Sandringham has been far from smooth sailing so far. According to GB News, "Protesters have targeted Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's fence at his new home in a major security breach."

Per the outlet, a group of people allegedly "climbed the...newly constructed security fence and allegedly shouted abuse at the former prince, who appeared to be visiting Marsh Farm."

The publication noted that Andrew's "security appeared to defuse the situation," leading to the alleged protestors fleeing the area. Still, it sounds as though Marsh Farm isn't exactly a tranquil environment right now.

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have been navigating the fallout from their parents’ repeated scandals in recent weeks, but according to Hello!, they’ve been extended a special invitation by King Charles. It was previously reported that the sisters were being excluded from Royal Ascot this June in the wake of their father Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s arrest. But on Wednesday, April 1, Hello! claimed that King Charles has extended his nieces an invitation to the annual horse racing event.

According to the outlet, the York sisters have been invited to Ascot by The King, and despite reports of the Royal Family distancing themselves from Beatrice and Eugenie, “senior members of the Royal Family have continued to check in on them.”

Although it seems they’re welcome to come to the races this summer, a friend of the sisters told the outlet that they’re stuck between a rock and a hard place. "The question is, would they want to go to a public event of that nature?" their friend said. "They will get criticism whether they go or not—and not just that event. They just can't win.”

Princess Beatrice—who has been subjected to rumors about her marriage in recent weeks—has been hit especially hard by the constant “scrutiny” aimed at her family.

Her friend told Hello! that “Bea has found the scrutiny very hard, especially the strain of the past few weeks. It has felt as though things have been in freefall, and she's being hammered and bullied by commentators.”

A source close to Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, recently told People that reports of any relationship trouble are “complete nonsense.”

As for this weekend's Easter celebrations, the sisters are said to be spending the holiday apart from the Royal Family with The King's blessing.

The Royal Family has been facing a barrage of negative attention amid Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s recent arrest and questions over what they knew about his scandals. But as the royals manage one of their worst public relations crises in decades, there’s a younger generation of family members who bring a fresh perspective and new hope for the monarchy, including Peter Phillips and ex-wife Autumn Kelly’s youngest daughter, Isla.

Isla Phillips, who is Queen Elizabeth’s great-granddaughter and Prince Anne’s granddaughter, turned 14 on Sunday, March 29. Speaking to the Daily Mail, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said that although Isla’s received “little attention” compared to other royals, “she is likely to make her mark on royal life.”

Like her father, Isla does not have a title, since Princess Anne “sensibly decided that her children, Peter and Zara, would be better off without them,” Fitzwilliams shared. But despite the fact Isla's not a princess, the royal expert noted that “what Peter did pass down may well prove to be far more valuable than rank: the family's love of equestrian activities.”

Queen Elizabeth was a lifelong rider and extremely involved in the horse racing industry, and both Princess Anne and Zara have competed in the Olympics, with Zara bringing home a silver medal at the 2012 summer games. According to Fitzwilliams, “Isla reportedly goes riding with Princess Anne on the Gatcombe Park estate most days.”

The 14-year-old is also a regular attendee at events like the Gatcombe Horse Trials and joined her big sister, Savannah, their dad, Peter, and his fiancée, Harriet Sperling, at Cheltenham Racecourse for the New Year’s Day races this year.

“It will be fascinating to see if she, too, specializes in equestrian activities,” Fitzwilliams said. Regardless of what path Isla pursues, the royal expert pointed out that there’s a great deal of promise in Isla and her royal cousins.

“Her generation should be free of the scandals that are currently causing problems for the thousand-year-old institution of monarchy,” he told the Daily Mail. “It should be a breath of fresh air as the Royal Family moves with the times and each generation has something new to give in an environment which is constantly changing but always pressurized.”

Earlier this year, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor moved out of Royal Lodge in Windsor and into Wood Farm on the Sandringham estate. His future home, Marsh Farm, is reportedly undergoing renovations ready for the former prince's arrival. But a new report has suggested that the ex-Duke of York has been instructed to "leave no trace" of his existence at his former property. Plus, Andrew's latest hobby has been revealed as "sitting in" a "moss-riddled" caravan.

Speaking to the Mirror, one royal source claimed, "Andrew was told everything has to be out [of Royal Lodge] and absolutely nothing was to be left behind. He hasn't been back to collect anything...Everything has to be out by the weekend and we've been told no trace of the former occupants or staff should remain."

The publication also alleged, "A number of skips have been loaded and removed from the estate, with removal vans seen coming and going. Staff have also been setting fire to further unwanted belongings of their own."

According to the outlet, "Palace sources insisted the burning of furniture and other items on the estate belonged to Andrew's former staff. "

The Mirror also alleged that the former duke "appeared downcast" while looking at some horses, following reports that he was "banned from riding" altogether.

As for how Andrew is remaining busy, the Mail on Sunday claimed the ex-royal has an unusual new hobby. "The reality of [Andrew's] radically altered situation was underlined when he took delivery of a secondhand static caravan a few days ago, which has been propped up on bricks in his back garden, bearing signs of moss," the publication explained, while labeling the vehicle "moss-riddled."

A royal source elaborated to the outlet, "Andrew uses it himself, would you believe, and what's more shocking is, he likes it. He really is a changed man; he's enjoyed sitting in the caravan. It's novel for him."

An additional source told the outlet, "People thought the caravan was for his staff, but he doesn't really have any. The staff who work elsewhere at Sandringham already help out, but many are reluctant to live in."

Until renovations on his new home are complete, Andrew will reportedly be "enjoying sitting" in his "moss-riddled" caravan.

For many years, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson called themselves “the happiest divorced couple in the world.” So happy, in fact, that there was rampant public speculation that the duo would eventually remarry—especially since Fergie lived with Andrew at Royal Lodge before they were evicted by The King.

In his biography Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, author Andrew Lownie chronicles the highs and lows of Sarah and Andrew's relationship, including the remarriage rumors that followed the couple for years after their 1996 divorce.

Referencing a 12-page interview in the June 2000 issue of Tatler, Lownie writes that the former Duke of York slipped in a comment about his relationship with Ferguson.

“I don’t rule remarriage out and I certainly don’t rule it in,” Andrew told the publication, adding, “If ever the opportunity arose, I do not know what I would do, as it is not in the plan.”

Lownie noted that "bookies slashed the odds on remarriage from 33-1 to 3-1," but a poll in the Daily Mail at the time “showed that nearly 90 percent of its readers wanted the couple to remarry.”

However, Ferguson had her own thoughts on the matter. “There is not a chance of her putting her head back into that lion’s cage,” a friend of Sarah’s said, per Lownie.

Although marrying Andrew again appeared to be out of the question, Fergie gave an interview to the Daily Mail in 2018 stating her devotion to the former Duke of York. “My duty is to him. I am so proud of him. I stand by him and always will,” she shared.

“The way we are is our fairy tale,” she continued. “Although we are not a couple, we really believe in each other.” Fast forward to 2026, and it's unlikely she'd deliver the same remarks.

Andrew Lownie’s biography of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, Entitled, follows the “rise and fall of the house of York,” and in a recent talk at the Oxford Literary Festival, the author claims that Queen Elizabeth was highly influenced by her favorite son, Andrew.

Per the Times, Lownie spoke about the former Duke of York and his relationship with the late Queen at the festival, stating: “By the end of her life, what people don’t realize, is that she was completely gaga. He [Andrew] would go up there and he would bully her into doing things.”

The Entitled author also claimed that “for the last few years” of Queen Elizabeth’s life, “Charles actually was running the show, rather than The Queen.”

During his talk at the festival, Lownie said he thought the Andrew crisis was worse than when King Edward VIII abdicated to marry Wallis Simpson. Calling the 1936 abdication a “three-day wonder,” Lownie said that Andrew’s scandal had a much greater impact on the monarchy.

“There were MI6 officers who went to [royal] private secretaries and said, ‘Look he’s been caught with $5 million in a suitcase in Kazakhstan,’ and they were sent away with a flea in their ear,” Lownie said of Andrew. “The heads of the foreign office went and complained.”

“She, I’m afraid, abetted this,” the author said of Queen Elizabeth. “The whole family abetted this—they knew about it.”

Lownie’s comments come after police announced their investigation into the former Duke of York will likely expand into other potential offenses after his February arrest. Andrew was arrested on his 66th birthday on suspicion of misconduct in public office, and the Times reported last week that he’s “set to be investigated over other potential corruption offenses on top of a scoping inquiry into alleged sex trafficking.”

Princess Eugenie is marking her 36th birthday on Monday, March 23, but with the multiple scandals involving her parents Sarah Ferguson and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, royal sources note the celebrations will likely be rather quiet. After Eugenie's father was arrested in February and both the princess and her sister, Princess Beatrice, were mentioned in multiple emails in the Epstein files, one royal expert said Eugenie is facing a “personal crisis.”

It’s unknown whether Princess Eugenie and her family are spending her birthday in the U.K. or in Portugal, where they live part of the year. Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told the Mirror that no matter where Eugenie is, she’ll likely keep a “low profile.”

"Both Eugenie and Beatrice must be feeling the heat of the headlines that are now turning on them. And so I doubt whether this birthday will be one she will particularly feel like celebrating in a big way,” Bond said.

Princess Beatrice was photographed leaving a Notting Hill bar with husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi over the weekend, but Bond said that it would be surprising if Princess Eugenie celebrated her birthday in any public way.

“Both princesses seem to have decided that keeping a low profile for now is the best course of action, and I suspect that is how Eugenie will spend her birthday: out of public view and certainly not openly with either of her parents,” she said.

The sisters have not spoken about their father’s association with Jeffrey Epstein or Andrew's arrest, but the Sun’s royal editor, Matt Wilkinson, said Beatrice and Eugenie are “probably going through a complete and utter personal crisis.”

In an episode of Hello! magazine’s “A Right Royal Podcast,” Wilkinson said, “I've got sympathy for both Beatrice and Eugenie, and I'd like to see them somehow rehabilitated and used properly in the Royal Family. I think The King wants her, wants them both, to not pay for the sins of their parents, but I'm not sure there is mass public sympathy for them at the moment.”

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have likely had a challenging few months due to their parents's involvement in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson were forced to move out of Royal Lodge in Windsor and stop using their royal titles due to their association with the convicted sex offender. While the Royal Family seemingly embraced Beatrice and Eugenie throughout the saga, sources have detailed their "fears" regarding the royal sisters.

According to the Mail on Sunday, concerns have been raised about Princess Beatrice's marriage to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. "Edo jetted 4,500 miles to the glorious elegance of Palm Beach," the outlet noted. "Yes, he was there to promote his design business, Banda, and speak at a conference, but the optics of not being there for his wife of nearly six years are not good." The publication further suggested, "Friends fear Princess Beatrice's marriage to Edo 'is in trouble.'"

The outlet continued, "While he supped wine in some of Palm Beach's most luxurious locations, Beatrice was coming to terms with the fact her name appeared hundreds of times in the Epstein files."

Sources alleged to the outlet that there had been "distance" between Beatrice and her husband, who is allegedly "keen to avoid his business being tainted by the scandal enveloping the House of York."

One source told the publication, "Things haven't been great for a while between them, but Beatrice has been determined to soldier on and forge a path through."

The source continued, "She wants to stay together, but he seems more and more distracted by work and travel. Just when she needs him most, he's been pulling away."

Meanwhile, an additional source claimed to the outlet, "He's really worried his in-laws will affect his business...He's all about himself at the moment. You have to feel for Beatrice."

Princess Eugenie's husband, Jack Brooksbank, is reportedly taking a different approach to the situation. "Eugenie's husband is said to be standing by his wife amid the ensuing Epstein scandal—but refuses to allow disgraced Sarah Ferguson to move into the family home," the Daily Mail shared.

A source also claimed, "His first loyalty has to be to his wife and their two young children. The whole sordid affair has already brought them a great deal of unwarranted attention and he won't do anything to increase that."

According to the publication, Eugenie and Brooksbank are allegedly aligned when it comes to her mom. "Sarah is difficult to live with and they don't want the responsibility of looking after her at the moment," a source alleged. "That's not to say they are not concerned about her welfare—they just don't actually want her to be living with them, even temporarily."

For now, at least, Beatrice and Eugenie are likely hoping that there won't be any new revelations regarding their mom and dad's friendship with Epstein so their lives can return to some semblance of normalcy.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was forced to move out of his home, Royal Lodge in Windsor, after new details emerged regarding his association with Jeffrey Epstein. As well as losing all of his royal titles, the ex-Duke of York agreed to move on to the Sandringham estate, instead. Now, royal experts are suggesting that the former prince might be made to move properties once again.

The Sun's royal editor, Matt Wilkinson, appeared on Hello! magazine's "A Right Royal Podcast," and said, "The Royal Family use Wood Farm a lot and the Easter holidays are coming up, so there may be wider extended members of the family that would want to pop up for a holiday, a free holiday, basically, and want to use Wood Farm."

Andrew is temporarily staying at Wood Farm while renovations are completed on his new home, Marsh Farm.

Wilkinson continued, "So Andrew's got to get into Marsh Farm next door pretty sharpish. They've put the gates up, these big security gates outside. They've been working around the clock for the last couple of weeks."

The royal expert also noted that Andrew's furniture was seen being delivered to the property, along with kitchen appliances and carpets. "It looks like the kitchen has been completely done," Wilkinson noted. "And then we had the removal vans, which [contain] artwork that's been in storage, turn up this week to move into Marsh Farm."

As for when the ex-duke will be made to leave Wood Farm, Wilkinson shared on the podcast, "We were told that we were to expect Andrew to be into his new final exile by Easter, which is the first weekend in April [2026]. But I have a sneaking suspicion he could be in even before that, because they want Wood Farm back. You know, the longer he's there, the more comfy he gets."

Basically, Andrew is likely to face even more upheaval during the next few weeks.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested on February 19 on suspicion of misconduct in public office, and according to a new report, the police inquiry into the former Duke of York is expected to “widen” into other potential charges. On Thursday, March 19, the Times reported that Thames Valley Police will “likely” expand their investigation into charges outside of his alleged misdoings as a U.K. trade envoy.

According to the outlet, the ex-Duke of York, whose titles were stripped by King Charles in October 2025, is “set to be investigated over other potential corruption offenses on top of a scoping inquiry into alleged sex trafficking,” per police.

Andrew has continuously denied any wrongdoing in relation to his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein and the sexual assault charges brought upon him by the late Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre. But Andrew was arrested for allegedly sharing confidential documents with the convicted sex offender after new information was released by the U.S. Department of Justice in the Epstein files.

A police source told the Times that after Andrew was arrested on misconduct in public office (Mipo), it’s opened the door “to look at broader offenses.”

“The legal bar for Mipo is high,” the source said. “There was always an issue over whether he was actually a public official at the time, whether he actually signed any papers. It’s not surprising that they are having to look at broader offenses.”

If found guilty of misconduct in public office, the potential maximum penalty is a life sentence in prison. According to police, any interviews regarding the investigation “are expected to be by appointment,” but any final decisions on charges could take a year.

In the meantime, Andrew has been evicted from his longtime home, Royal Lodge, and is living on The King's Sandringham estate as he awaits the results of his investigation.

Grant Harrold worked as a royal butler to King Charles at his country retreat, Highgrove House, serving the now-King between 2004 and 2011. Along with working for Charles and Camilla, he encountered numerous members of the Royal Family, and speaking on the LadBible Stories YouTube Channel, Harrold said that his memories of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor weren’t fond.

“So my interactions with him were few and far between, and when I did have any dealings with him, in fairness to him, he was polite,” Harrold said of Andrew. However, he added that the former Duke of York gave off a different energy than the rest of the family.

"There would be a kind of 'thank you' or whatever, but there was also this feeling of, as a lot of people describe, entitled feeling,” the former butler continued. “You got the feeling he thought he was better than everyone, just his mannerisms and his...the way he was.”

Harrold, who often speaks about the kindness of The King and Queen, said that the rest of the Royal Family absolutely didn't carry the same attitude as Andrew. He shared that he found it to be “weird” that “no other member of the family” had that snobbish “vibe,” including Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.

“But with [Andrew], he had this…I can't even explain it to you. I just didn't want to be in his presence,” Harrold shared. “I mean, you know, luckily, I didn't have to do much for him.”

Recalling King Charles and Queen Camilla’s April 2005 wedding, which Harrold attended as a guest, he said that Andrew “didn’t speak to any of the staff members that were there as guests. He would only speak to the, if you like, family or family friends.”

Harrold said he found Andrew's behavior to be “quite sad actually, because I don't know why he was like that.” He added that when speaking with “colleagues in the royal household, none of them ever have a nice thing to say about him.”

“Put it this way, he wasn’t one of the most popular royals,” he concluded.

King Charles has made unprecedented moves to distance the monarchy from his brother, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, including removing his titles and evicting him from Royal Lodge. A month on from the former Duke of York’s arrest, royal experts are weighing in on his relationship with The King and the moment that made Charles think “I told you so.”

Andrew was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office on his 66th birthday, February 19, and King Charles released a statement stating that he fully supported any police investigation regarding his brother. The former Duke of York served as a trade envoy for the U.K. from 2001 until 2011, and has been accused of sharing confidential information with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Royal biographer Robert Jobson told Hello! that The King, then Prince Charles, wasn’t a fan of the trade envoy idea when it was proposed by Queen Elizabeth.

“Charles always had doubts about Andrew becoming an envoy,” Jobson shared, noting that the now-King thought his brother “had just retired from the Navy and didn't have experience of diplomacy.”

However, Queen Elizabeth “insisted” on the appointment for her favorite son, Andrew, despite Charles’s concerns. “So now, Charles is thinking: 'I told you so,'" Jobson continued.

An “associate” of Andrew’s told Hello! that the relationship between King Charles and his brother has broken down irrecoverably. “You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to work that out," the source said.

However, the brothers, who are 12 years apart, were never close. "Andrew resented Charles," Entitled author Andrew Lownie told the outlet. "He felt that he could do a better job. Charles resented Andrew. He felt that Andrew was allowed to do things he couldn't do."

Meanwhile, Jobson said that a source close to The King revealed another reason Charles resents his brother.

"In around 2013 or 2014, Charles and Andrew had a massive conversation about Epstein and Andrew gave him his complete and utter assurance that he had done nothing wrong," Jobson shared. "He gave unequivocal reassurances."

Following the release of further information regarding Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's association with Jeffrey Epstein, the former duke was demoted by King Charles. According to one royal expert, Andrew's sister, Princess Anne, reportedly found the change quite "difficult" to process.

Writing for the Daily Mail, royal expert Richard Kay mused that "many have been wondering how Anne views the crisis surrounding Andrew." According to Kay, "Until last Christmas at least, Anne was still holding a sympathetic and tolerant line towards Andrew—she apparently made a point of telephoning Royal Lodge, where he was still holed up, on Christmas Day when the rest of the family were at Sandringham."

However, new revelations about Andrew's friendship with convicted sex offender Epstein reportedly changed Anne's opinion about her brother.

"[S]he has also been angry with him for his links to Jeffrey Epstein and the shadow they have cast over the royals, and has questioned him about them," Kay wrote. "The former prince's love of money and unchecked libido were as well-known inside the family as they were outside it."

According to the outlet, Princess Anne allegedly suggested that Andrew could temporarily move on to the Gatcombe Park estate in Gloucestershire where she lives. Per Kay, Anne thought that Andrew could use her home "as a bolthole when the calls for him to be evicted from Royal Lodge grew shrill."

Kay continued, "This was not just an act of Christian charity but a willingness to surround him with family love—and totally in character."

Unfortunately for Andrew, Anne's opinion has reportedly changed in recent months. As Kay noted, "[H]er attitude is said to have hardened with the release of the Epstein files."

Initially, Anne reportedly "found it difficult to fathom that the son, brother, and uncle of monarchs could no longer be an actual royal." But as Kay reported, "After the emergence of compromising photographs and damaging claims about him...she came to share the family view that unless Andrew was distanced, the risk of reputational damage to the institution would be considerable."

Per the outlet, Princess Anne was also "shaken" by her brother's arrest, but "has continued to be in contact with him" and "has been concerned about Andrew's mental welfare as his world has imploded."

Sarah Ferguson and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor have faced some huge changes in 2026. The former couple's association with Jeffrey Epstein hit the headlines once again following the release of new information from the Epstein files. Subsequently, King Charles removed Sarah and Andrew's official royal titles and evicted them from their shared home, Royal Lodge in Windsor. Now, a new report is claiming that the ex-Duchess of York's current location is "unknown." Meanwhile, the Royal Family has been accused of "shielding" the former Duke of York.

Per People, "Sarah Ferguson's whereabouts remain unknown following the arrest of her ex-husband." Calling the former duchess's location a "mystery," the outlet explained "that the former Duchess of York planned to spend time overseas as she mulled her next moves." However, she "has not been seen in public since December 2025," which raises "questions about where the former Duchess of York will live when she returns to the U.K.," the publication shared.

While the former Prince Andrew has been given a new property on the Sandringham estate, Ferguson has been left to her own devices.

As the scandal regarding her association with Epstein simmered, Ferguson reportedly traveled to Switzerland, where she allegedly checked into a luxury wellness clinic, per People. According to the Daily Mail, the former duchess allegedly also spent time at Ballyliffin Lodge and Spa in Donegal, Ireland.

As for Ferguson's ex-husband, the Sun reported that "massive security gates" have been "thrown up outside disgraced Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's new home to shield it from public view."

The new barriers were erected at Andrew's future home, Marsh Farm, which is being renovated ready for the ex-duke. As a result, it's been suggested that the Royal Family is "shielding" Andrew "from public view" with the move.

Customers at London’s Borough Market most likely didn’t expect Prince William and Princess Kate to serve them their coffee on March 12, but for the Prince and Princess of Wales, it’s all part of their plan to make the monarchy “more relatable and personable.” Speaking to Marie Claire, royal editor and biographer Russell Myers says that the couple have a strong idea of how they “want to take” the Royal Family in the future—and it’s a long way off from how The Firm was run in the past.

Myers—whose new book William and Catherine, The Monarchy's New Era: The Inside Story, was released March 10—says that although Princess Kate didn’t grow up in the royal world, she “has taken an excellent approach to her life” as the future Queen.

“She has worked hard behind the scenes to get to know the institution and how it matters to the public,” he shares. “This hasn't happened overnight, but through more than a decade of studying the intricate nature of where the monarchy is now and the direction that both William and her want to take it in the future.”

When asked about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s recent arrest and Princess Kate’s more grounded approach to royal life, Myers says that William and Kate are careful to avoid living in a royal bubble.

“A common issue that befalls those who have exposed themselves to misconduct comes with a great sense of privilege and entitlement,” the biographer tells Marie Claire. “There is a reason we don't see this with William and Catherine, or even hear claims of such behavior, because there isn't any.”

He adds, “There is much to be said about the quiet way in which they operate, going about their public duties and private lives in a way which is more accountable to not only the people around them but the people they serve.”

This sense of accountability was on show when more troubling allegations about the former Duke of York and Jeffrey Epstein came to light earlier this year.

In the past, the Royal Family kept a tight lid on family matters, but as Myers notes, “The days of 'never complain, never explain' are over.” He adds that Prince William and Princess Kate “recognize they need to be in tune with public feeling on a range of issues, which is why we saw them publish a statement even before Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested, expressing how deeply concerned they were.”

Becoming more in touch with the public is a key priority for the couple. Whether it’s working with the homeless or snapping selfies with fans, the Prince and Princess of Wales want to serve the British people in a way that makes sense for the times.

“William and Catherine undoubtedly want to change the direction of the monarchy for the future,” Myers says. “William has spoken about ‘change for good,’ but what does this look like in reality?”

Along with making a bigger impact with fewer royal engagements, Myers explains that the Prince and Princess of Wales have changed the way “they have structured their household and their charitable endeavors” to make sure their work is not just handled efficiently, but transparently.

“We have seen the start of a more corporate-like structure which encourages accountability and transparency, which is certainly the direction that they want to take,” he shares.

As more revelations about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s friendship with late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein continue to emerge, it’s been revealed that the ex-duke once made a strange phone call to former Victoria’s Secret CEO, Les Wexner. The 88-year-old businessman was an associate of Epstein’s until 2007 and sold the convicted pedophile his “Lolita Express” private jet. Because of his past ties with Epstein, Wexner was recently subpoenaed to speak to Congress, during which he revealed the bizarre interaction with Andrew.

Per the Sun, Wexner revealed that the former Duke of York once called him to talk about an unusual subject. “I had no conversations, interactions with Prince Andrew about women or anything. I had one brief, like two sentence funny conversation [with Andrew],” he shared.

The co-founder of Bath & Body Works, Inc. continued that Andrew “called me here in Columbus” to discuss, of all things, airplanes. “I said, ‘Hello.’ and he said, ‘Uh, you know, I helped my mother buy her airplane and I know that you buy and sell airplanes, so if I could be of service, with you and airplane transactions, I could help,” Wexner said.

Wexner revealed that he said “No, thank you. We’re covered and have a nice day,” but found the whole interaction to be hilarious. “I just kind of laughed my ass off that the Duke of York called me about that,” he added.

While the former Duke of York served in the Royal Navy and flew helicopters during the Falklands War, Wexner said he had no idea why Andrew decided to call him offering his flying expertise.

Per the Sun, a member of the House Oversight Committee asked, “So, he offered to advise you on purchasing an airplane?” adding he was “just trying to understand why” Andrew would’ve called Wexner about the topic. “Yeah, me too. It was out of the blue,” the businessman replied.

Mountbatten-Windsor, who formerly worked as a trade envoy to the U.K., was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office on February 19 after emails allegedly revealed he’d shared confidential information with Epstein. However, it’s unclear whether his phone call to Wexner took place during the time period when he was serving in his envoy role.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has yet to move out of his temporary home on the Sandringham estate, Wood Farm, but reports indicate his permanent residence is getting some royally-approved finishings. According to Hello!, a truck from U.K. flooring company Linney Cooper, which holds a royal warrant from King Charles, was spotted at Andrew’s future home, Marsh Farm.

Renovations on the property have been carried for several months now, and it seems the former Duke of York’s floors and carpets will be installed by the same company that did work on Buckingham Palace, Kensington Palace, and Andrew’s former home, Royal Lodge. Linney Cooper was also responsible for the carpeting at Windsor Castle, which had to be redone after the devastating fire that swept through the building in 1992.

Per the magazine, another company, Next Level Flooring Solutions, was also pictured arriving at Marsh Farm recently. The ex-duke is understood to be moving into Marsh Farm next month, and until then, he’s keeping a low profile at Prince Philip’s former country retreat, Wood Farm.

Although he might be getting some luxury upgrades to the home, Marsh Farm is certainly a step down from the 30-room Royal Lodge. In January, a source told the Sun that Marsh Farm—which is situated in the middle of a flood plain—“is a lot, lot smaller and less luxurious” than what Andrew was used to in Windsor.

There’s not much to do in the peace and quiet of the Sandringham estate in winter to begin with, and since his February 19 arrest, the former Duke of York has essentially been housebound.

Speaking to the Express's TalkTV, Entitled author Andrew Lownie said that Andrew is “stuck on Wood Farm up in Sandringham. I hear he's not even allowed to go out the front door to go [horseback] riding.”

However, the ex-duke’s daily routine doesn’t seem to differ much from when he was living at Royal Lodge. When asked what Andrew did all day, Lownie replied, “Well, what he did before really, which is to basically mooch around all morning in his dressing gown and watch films.”

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have been keeping “a low profile” after their father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, was arrested on February 19. The pair have reportedly been asked not to attend Royal Ascot this June, and Eugenie recently stepped down from her role at the charity she co-founded, The Anti-Slavery Collective. Amid the continued fallout from the York family’s association with Jeffrey Epstein, one royal expert has predicted that the sisters will either lose their princess titles or give them up voluntarily.

“In my view, in the future, they will end up losing their royal titles,” royal correspondent Richard Palmer told the Mirror. “It might be cleaner for all involved,” he added. “Being princesses who are non-working royals is confusing for people already because they have titles but they don’t do anything for the monarchy, they don’t do anything for the nation.”

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie both have full-time jobs, with Eugenie working for art gallery Hauser & Wirth and Beatrice employed at software company Afiniti. “They’re essentially just private individuals who get privileges of being members of the Royal Family—but they’re probably going to have to say goodbye to some of those privileges which they’ve enjoyed for a long, long time,” Palmer said.

Eugenie and Beatrice have been entitled to stay princesses due to their father being the son of a monarch, per King George V's Letters Patent of 1917. But as King Charles showed when he stripped Andrew of his prince title, these could be removed at any time.

“Part of me thinks that they might actually relish shedding the royal links and just getting on with their lives and careers, and they both seem to have happy marriages,” Palmer noted.

Touching on Andrew’s scandal and the sisters’ absence from Royal Ascot, Palmer said, “It’s likely that this is still going to be rumbling on for many months, if not years, and it won’t look brilliant, if for example Beatrice and Eugenie are at Ascot in a carriage going down the course with 70,000 people watching while they’re involved in one way or another in the controversy surrounding their parents.”

The sisters were invited to Sandringham for Christmas by their uncle, The King, and even if they distance themselves from official royal events, Palmer notes that it’s likely Eugenie and Beatrice will still stay retain ties with the Royal Family “behind the scenes.”

“Like any family, they enjoy big family get-togethers, particularly when their kids can play with each other, especially the cousins,” the royal journalist said. “I don’t think they’ll lose that completely, I think they will still be given that, but it will all be behind the scenes.”

However, Palmer notes, “I think we’re going to see a lot less of them,” adding, “I think they’ll just fade into the background.”

Despite finalizing their divorce in May 1996, Sarah Ferguson and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor remained extremely close; they even lived together until their eviction from Royal Lodge. Ferguson also maintained a relationship with her mother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth II, and was entrusted with the late monarch's beloved corgis upon her death. However, one royal expert believes the former Duchess of York actually betrayed the former Queen.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams explained, "Betrayal is a truly horrible characteristic. To betray the person to whom one owes loyalty and the institution into which she was welcomed is shameful, but Sarah Ferguson knows no shame."

The expert referenced the recent release of a slew of emails between Ferguson and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein as evidence of the ex-duchess's "shameful" behavior.

"Queen Elizabeth II, a monarch whose rule will go down as one of the finest in our history, was kind to her," Fitzwilliams told the outlet. "We now know that Ferguson's groveling emails to the deceased pedophile Jeffrey Epstein are proof of her culpability and greed."

According to Fitzwilliams, Elizabeth and Sarah were polar opposites in many ways, but that didn't stop the monarch from supporting her daughter-in-law for decades after the divorce.

"The Queen was naturally frugal by nature," Fitzwilliams noted. "Ferguson's extravagances reached bizarre heights time and again, and the palace even issued a statement that they would no longer be paid."

Ferguson publicly shamed the Royal Family by being photographed in an infamous "toe-sucking" clinch with her alleged "financial adviser" John Bryan, the royal expert shared. "[She] made the Royal Family look ridiculous," Fitzwilliams explained.

"She was clearly beyond the pale and a disgrace to the Royal Family," Fitzwilliams claimed to the outlet. "Yet The Queen had a soft spot for her, almost as though she was a mother figure trying to resurrect someone who was clearly utterly irresponsible."

Fitzwilliams also alluded to the former Duchess of York's "amazing ability to bounce back from disasters" and "use her energy and resilience to charm."

Basically, it appears as though, until her death in 2022, Queen Elizabeth II continued to support Ferguson. But as Fitzwilliams has suggested, perhaps the late monarch didn't know the full extent of Ferguson's association with Epstein.

Alongside her ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, Sarah Ferguson has been stripped of her royal titles and evicted from Royal Lodge in Windsor. Her association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein hit the headlines once again after emails between the pair were released to the public. Now, a source has claimed that Ferguson has been essentially blacklisted by Hollywood.

According to the Daily Mail, "Sarah Ferguson has been snubbed for a £1.5 million [approximately $2 million] book deal in America as no-one wants to enable her to 'cash in on the Epstein scandal,' Hollywood sources say."

The publication alleged that the former Duchess of York "pitched the idea of a tell-all memoir to major U.S. publishing houses...but all of them have rejected her," according to their sources.

As noted by the outlet, one source reportedly told the Daily Express, "She ended up with a string of rejections and zero response in a few cases." They continued, "It seems no-one is remotely interested in being seen to be enabling her to cash in on the Epstein scandal that has torn her family apart and ruined her ex-husband."

An additional source told the publication, "Any notion she might have had about keeping her American dream alive now seems to have been killed off completely...Commercially, as the failed book deal shows, she has become a pariah."

Previous reports suggested that the ex-duchess wanted to "bounce back" after the Epstein scandal by finding a new "PR team." However, it seems unlikely that Ferguson will find a new home in the U.S. after her alleged book deal has reportedly fallen through.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, have both faced repercussions due to their association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The couple's daughters—Princess Eugenie and Prince Beatrice—have been dealing with the fallout from their parents's alleged actions, and it seems as though they've been caught in the crossfire.

On Sunday, March 8, the Observer broke the news that Princess Eugenie had stepped back from her role as patron of the charity Anti-Slavery International.

In a statement to the outlet, the organization confirmed, "After seven years, our patronage from HRH Princess Eugenie of York has come to an end. We thank the princess very much for her support for Anti-Slavery International. We hope that she continues to work to end slavery for good and deliver freedom for everyone."

As well as losing patronages, Princess Eugenie and her sister, Princess Beatrice, have reportedly been left feeling "bitterly disappointed" due to their parents's alleged transgressions.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, one insider alleged, "The York girls have been informed they can't be [at Royal Ascot] this year." An additional source claimed, "Ascot is out of the question. The royals have been told they can't be photographed with the girls for the rest of the year."

The outlet further explained, "Friends say the sisters have been 'left drained' by the bitter snub."

A source close to Eugenie's family told the publication, "They're deeply disappointed. They feel they're being punished for their parents's past actions, and that's very difficult to accept."

Unfortunately, it seems as though Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie might be forced to retreat from the royal spotlight for the foreseeable future.

Following additional revelations regarding his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor relinquished his royal titles. He was also forced to move out of Royal Lodge in Windsor for a more secluded home on the Sandringham estate. Now, onlookers are wondering why Queen Elizabeth II protected Andrew throughout her life, despite the many allegations being made against him.

As reported by People, "Andrew was buffered by the system, his missteps managed quietly or overlooked entirely. Even after concerns began circulating about his association with Epstein, Queen Elizabeth continued to grant him honors and public visibility."

Catherine Mayer, the author of Divide and Rule, told the publication, "She saw no gap between the monarchy and shielding her son." Mayer continued, "One thing was her duty as monarch, and one was her duty as a mother—and she felt that those things were fully aligned."

Mayer isn't the first person to reference Elizabeth's seemingly unflinching protection of Andrew. Following the former duke's arrest, crisis expert David E. Johnson told Us Weekly, "A lot of people will be saying, 'Why didn't [Queen Elizabeth] do more?'" He continued, "This has been going on for a long time. She looked the other way."

However, royal historian David Cannadine suggested in his book, Queen Elizabeth II: A Concise Biography of an Exceptional Sovereign, that the monarch had little control over Andrew's behavior. "There was nothing The Queen could do…to persuade Prince Andrew to be more discreet," he wrote.

It seems as though Queen Elizabeth was committed to protecting her son, the former Prince Andrew, throughout his many alleged scandals, until her death in September 2022.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has endured some major life changes in 2026. After moving out of Royal Lodge in Windsor and moving into a temporary home on the Sandringham estate, the ex-prince was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office. According to one royal biographer, the former Duke of York's personal life has taken a nosedive amidst the tumult.

Speaking to the Express's TalkTV, biographer Andrew Lownie explained, "He's stuck on Wood Farm up in Sandringham. I hear he's not even allowed to go out the front door to go [horseback] riding."

As for how the ex-prince is occupying his time, "Lownie claimed the former Duke of York is stuck indoors watching movies all day," per the Express. The biographer elaborated, "Well, what he did before really, which is to basically mooch around all morning in his dressing gown [bathrobe] and watch films."

Discussing the former royal's hobbies, Lownie told the outlet, "He used to go out [horseback] riding. He can't play golf but he watches videos."

The biographer continued, "He's always been a bit of a couch potato and he is just doing exactly the same."

Although Andrew was released after being questioned by the police, his legal team will reportedly be monitoring the situation closely, Lownie explained.

"I think he is still hopeful that he can do business activities but he just leads a very quiet life," Lownie noted. "Most of his friends have now abandoned him. It's a pretty isolated world."

For now, at least, the former Prince Andrew is allegedly staying at home, far away from the royal spotlight.

Sam McAlister, the producer who secured Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s infamous 2019 BBC Newsnight interview, is speaking out for the first time since the former Duke of York’s arrest. In an interview with the Daily Mail’s Royal Confidential YouTube show, the producer shared that Princess Beatrice was “profoundly important” in securing her father’s participation on the TV special.

“It was clear that if we didn’t answer her questions well, this interview was never going to happen,” McAlister said.

The former Duke of York appeared on the TV news program to try and “clear his name” after his association with Jeffrey Epstein came to light. In particular, Andrew addressed the allegations of sexual assault by the late Virginia Giuffre, giving various bizarre reasons why he wasn't with her, such as an inability to sweat and a trip to a Pizza Express restaurant in Woking, England.

McAlister said that Princess Beatrice, who was 31 at the time, “came along unexpectedly to the face-to-face negotiation, which happened just three days before this interview physically happened.” The producer added, “I called her the rainmaker. And the reason is because she was protecting her father’s interests.”

“She was super polite, super nice, super friendly," McAlister continued. “But in that room with the people who were there she was the one who had his interest purely at heart.”

McAlister said she “wasn’t privy to” any conversations behind the scenes, but she believes that Beatrice was “profoundly important” in getting her father to say “yes” to the interview.

Along with seeking his daughter’s approval, the former Duke of York had another family member who needed to sign off on his TV appearance. McAlister said that at the end of their meeting, Andrew declared, “Well, I better go and speak to Mum.”

“In my head, I’m like, ‘Well, why does a 59-year-old man need to speak to his mother?’ McAlister shared. “Because my brain had not clicked in, he means The [late] Queen.” Although she revealed that she has “no idea if that conversation took place,” Andrew’s remark was “one of the last things he said that day” before the BBC team later heard the interview was approved.
