Although they were pictured hugging and kissing their royal cousins at the wedding, held in the village of Kemble, England, Fitzwilliams points out that a public appearance for Eugenie and Beatrice is a different matter.

“It will therefore present a problem as their presence at an official royal event would, at this time with their parents in disgrace, overshadow it,” he said.

Multiple royal sources have reported that the sisters were banned from Royal Ascot this year, but in April, Hello! magazine reported that The King extended an invitation to his nieces if they’d like to come.

“The question is, would they want to go to a public event of that nature?” a friend of Beatrice and Eugenie told the outlet. “They will get criticism whether they go or not—and not just that event. They just can't win.”

King Charles is celebrating the third anniversary of his coronation on Wednesday, May 6, and looking back at the historic event, lip reading expert Nicola Hickling has shared some behind-the-scenes moments from the ceremony.

The palace shared that Ernest and August “are also very excited to have another sibling join the family” and that King Charles “has been informed and is delighted with the news.”

There was no mention of Princess Eugenie’s parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor or Sarah Ferguson, in the palace statement. However, the news release sends a strong message that Eugenie is still very much part of the Royal Family despite her father's scandals involving Jeffrey Epstein.

“They don’t see why they should slope away like criminals when they’ve done nothing wrong,” their friend added. But whether the public is open to seeing Andrew's daughters carry out royal duties is another question.

“Part of me thinks that they might actually relish shedding the royal links and just getting on with their lives and careers, and they both seem to have happy marriages,” Palmer noted.

Touching on Andrew’s scandal and the sisters’ absence from Royal Ascot, Palmer said, “It’s likely that this is still going to be rumbling on for many months, if not years, and it won’t look brilliant, if for example Beatrice and Eugenie are at Ascot in a carriage going down the course with 70,000 people watching while they’re involved in one way or another in the controversy surrounding their parents.”

The sisters were invited to Sandringham for Christmas by their uncle, The King, and even if they distance themselves from official royal events, Palmer notes that it’s likely Eugenie and Beatrice will still stay retain ties with the Royal Family “behind the scenes.”

“Like any family, they enjoy big family get-togethers, particularly when their kids can play with each other, especially the cousins,” the royal journalist said. “I don’t think they’ll lose that completely, I think they will still be given that, but it will all be behind the scenes.”

However, Palmer notes, “I think we’re going to see a lot less of them,” adding, “I think they’ll just fade into the background.”

Speaking to the Daily Mail, one insider alleged, "The York girls have been informed they can't be [at Royal Ascot] this year." An additional source claimed, "Ascot is out of the question. The royals have been told they can't be photographed with the girls for the rest of the year."

The outlet further explained, "Friends say the sisters have been 'left drained' by the bitter snub."

A source close to Eugenie's family told the publication, "They're deeply disappointed. They feel they're being punished for their parents's past actions, and that's very difficult to accept."

Unfortunately, it seems as though Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie might be forced to retreat from the royal spotlight for the foreseeable future.

“They will understandably want to distance themselves as much as possible from it,” she continued.

Beatrice, 37, and Eugenie, 35, have been keeping a low profile since their father, the former Duke of York, was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office on February 19. As Hello! reported, a source spotted Eugenie and husband Jack Brooksbank enjoying lunch with their two children August, 5, and Ernest, 3, at a restaurant in the luxe ski resort of Gstaad, Switzerland on February 18—the day before Andrew's arrest.

Their unusual living situation has led numerous people to ask the former duke and duchess if they'd ever consider getting remarried, but Lownie says Sarah and Andrew "were always more business partners than married couple."

In his book Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, Lownie writes that Andrew wasn't keen on remarriage. "Given Sarah's weaknesses, she wouldn't make an appropriate royal any more," he reportedly told a friend. However, the two have always been united on their daughters.

Princess Beatrice, 37, and Princess Eugenie, 35, are both moms of two, and Andrew and Sarah are active grandparents to August, Ernest, Sienna and Athena. "Everything now is about the daughters," Lownie tells Marie Claire.

He says that Beatrice and Eugenie—who attended Christmas with The King and the rest of the Royal Family in December—"have been passed the baton" in terms of carrying on "their royal status." Although the sisters are not senior working royals, they occasionally carrying out engagements on behalf of The King, and he's said to want to keep his nieces close.

"The deal is parents will fall on their swords as long as the daughters are taken care of," Lownie adds.

Ferguson has always claimed that she and Andrew were "the happiest divorced couple in the world," telling the Daily Mail in 2018, "We’re divorced to each other, not from each other."

However, when speaking of the fallout from Sarah and Andrew's association with Jeffrey Epstein, Lownie says, "The 'happiest divorced couple' claim quickly ended once Fergie no longer had a title and [won't be] living at Royal Lodge."

"They are both toxic but Fergie may now feel she is better off on her own," he adds.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly known as Prince Andrew, relinquished all of his royal titles in 2025, and agreed to leave his home, Royal Lodge in Windsor. The ex-Duke of York was forced to retreat from public Royal Family life following renewed interest in his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. According to one royal expert, Andrew's daughter, Princess Eugenie, isn't coping well with the changing dynamics within her family.

As reported by the Mail on Sunday, Princess Eugenie is allegedly "refusing to speak to Andrew and did not visit him at Christmas." Per the outlet, "Eugenie, who established The Anti-Slavery Collective to help counter sex trafficking, is said to be taking a dim view of her father's refusal to apologize to Epstein's victims."

Speaking to the publication, one source claimed, "There is no contact at all, nothing. It's Brooklyn Beckham level—she has completely cut him off." Brooklyn, of course, appears to be in a feud with his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, which was allegedly caused by disagreements regarding his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham.

Per the Mail on Sunday, Eugenie's sister, Princess Beatrice, is allegedly handling the situation differently. "Beatrice is trying to walk the fine line of not cutting her father off and yet remaining close with the Royal Family," the source claimed. "They aren't exactly in regular and close contact at the moment, but Eugenie isn't trying to walk that line. She's not speaking to him."

Meanwhile, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told the Daily Express, "The York brand has been toxic for years, but the family have, until now, had the reputation of being close-knit." He continued, "The report that Princess Eugenie is now estranged from her father is a seismic change."

Fitzwilliams also suggested that Andrew and ex-wife Sarah Ferguson should seriously consider leaving the country. "It would probably be best for Beatrice and Eugenie if both of their parents did, so they could exist in a more positive environment and be seen to be totally separate from them," he told the outlet.

For now, at least, it appears as though Princess Eugenie is taking some time out from her father.

In the run-up to Christmas 2025, the question on many royal watchers' minds was whether Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie would spend the holiday with the rest of the Royal Family in Norfolk. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor wasn't invited to the traditional Sandringham gathering after his titles were stripped in October, and although his daughters could've stayed home last year, they opted to join King Charles for Christmas.

Speaking on the Sun's "Royal Exclusive" show, Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, said that even if Eugenie and Beatrice wanted to skip a royal Christmas, she thinks the former Duke of York would've convinced the girls otherwise.

Seward said that Andrew "wants to keep a foot in" with his family, adding, "A, he wants to know what’s going on. B, he’d want to know what people were saying about him."

Without an invitation of his own, the disgraced royal can only get a glimpse at his family's goings on through his daughters.

"And he’s always said that, and Fergie has said, ‘the girls are my passport,' Seward continued. "They are Andrew’s only passport into the Royal Family now. And I’m absolutely sure that he persuaded them."

Royal commentator Charlie Rae also noted that "Andrew wants to keep an eye on what’s going on," adding since "he's not at the table anymore" the former duke would likely turn to his daughters and "be on the phone saying, 'Right, who said what?'"

Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, marked the holiday privately, with Entitled author Andrew Lownie telling Cosmopolitan UK the former couple "would take advantage of this last Christmas to do all sorts of entertaining" at their longtime home, Royal Lodge, before they're evicted.

"They've got friends...there are friends that go back a long way, and [have] stuck with them," he said. "Andrew still has his shooting friends."

Royal reporter Rob Shuter shared on his Substack, "Prince William strongly opposed King Charles's decision to include Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie in the family's highly choreographed Christmas church walk." However, the monarch apparently ignored William's alleged protestations and "overruled him, igniting fresh palace infighting," which insiders are reportedly calling "serious."

Shuter also suggested that, according to his sources, the Prince of Wales "warned that publicly parading ex-Prince Andrew's daughters would drag the monarchy back into scandal at the worst possible moment."

A palace insider told the outlet, "William said it was a disaster waiting to happen." The source continued, "He argued the timing was toxic and that it would hurt everyone involved—especially the sisters."

Essentially, King Charles reportedly hates being challenged by his eldest son, and wanted to make it clear that he makes the most important decisions. "Charles doesn't like being told what not to do," a source told Shuter. "This quickly became about authority. He made the call even knowing William objected."

Multiple reports have suggested that there might be some "tension" between father and son at the palace, and Shuter's sources appear to agree. "Charles actually has more trouble with William than Harry," one source claimed. "William stayed—and challenges him."

Per Shuter, "A Christmas meant to project unity instead exposed a deepening royal rift—one insiders warn could shape the monarchy's future."

Despite rumors of a "rift," royal fans were delighted to provide Christmas gifts for Prince Louis and share jokes with Princess Kate.

On Christmas Day, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie surprised royal fans by attending church in Sandringham alongside the Royal Family. Previous reports had suggested that the sisters would be leaving the country for the holidays, following renewed interest in dad ex-Prince Andrew's association with Jeffrey Epstein. Now, a new report has revealed that King Charles has been "quietly" supporting Beatrice and Eugenie after a difficult time.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Beatrice and Eugenie were "cocooned" by family members while walking to church on Christmas Day. Body language expert Judi James told the outlet, "Eugenie fiddled with the buttons of her coat in an auto-contact barrier ritual that suggested a desire to self-protect, hinting at some fear or worry about the fans' responses during this more intimate part of the outing."

James also noted that the sisters were smiling upon arrival, though their facial expressions didn't necessarily ring true. "It looked like a message of intent in terms of resilience and confidence in the face of her father's ongoing scandal and banishment from the line-up," James claimed.

The Daily Mail further reported, "King Charles has quietly made clear that while his shamed brother is unwelcome at any family festivities, his nieces—who remain 'blood princesses' and have retained their York titles—should not be made to pay for their father's 'sins.'" A source confirmed to the publication, "His Majesty is very fond of them."

It seems as though the Royal Family "colluded" to protect Eugenie and Beatrice at Sandringham, according to body language expert James.

Meanwhile, "Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was left firmly out in the cold" and "cut a solitary figure" on Christmas Day, the outlet reported.

Alongside her ex-husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, Sarah Ferguson was forced to give up all of her official royal titles in 2025. She will also be evicted from Royal Lodge, the home she shares with ex-Prince Andrew, and move into a private property without him. And according to new reports, the former Duchess of York is using her Christmas cards as a means of damage control

As reported by the Daily Mail, "With the long-divorced couple finally preparing to go their separate ways, 66-year-old Sarah, it is understood, has been signing her cards alone." Meanwhile, the Express reported that Ferguson has used her solo holiday cards to make a "plea to" the Royal Family.

"Those addressed to members of the Royal Family have been accompanied by a gushing personalized apology for her part in the fall of the House of York, including the desperate line: 'I hope we'll meet again,'" the Daily Mail explained.

Ferguson was forced to relinquish her royal titles after emails revealed her continued contact with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, long after she'd claimed to have cut him off. The former duchess's alleged association with the disgraced financier meant she had no choice but to permanently take a step back from the Royal Family.

Royal expert Emily Andrews revealed in Woman magazine (via the Daily Express) that, according to a source, Ferguson had "been left devastated by the fallout from the Epstein email scandal."

The royal insider shared, "She's on edge, panicking, and has become a virtual recluse in the past weeks." Elaborating on the situation, the source noted, "She has nothing left to lose now, so she could easily sell another autobiography in the U.S.—it worked for [Prince] Harry."

Earlier this year, the former Prince Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, were forced to give up their official royal titles. The pair also agreed to move out of their shared home, Royal Lodge in Windsor. Unsurprisingly, the divorced couple's daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, have reportedly been "under pressure" regarding a difficult Royal Family decision.

According to the Mail on Sunday, "Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie face a 'tug-of-love' dilemma after being invited by The King to spend Christmas at Sandringham." The invitation poses a challenge for Beatrice and Eugenie as their parents are unlikely to be invited to the Royal Family's holiday celebration this year.

On Friday, December 5, Princess Kate hosted her annual Together at Christmas concert. While a plethora of Royal Family members attended the carol concert, which took place at Westminster Abbey in London, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice were both noticeably absent. In an Instagram Story, Eugenie has since shared a statement after missing the regal event.

In an Instagram Story shared on December 5, Princess Eugenie revealed, "Wish Bea and I could have been celebrating tonight with our family." The statement continued, "Wishing @princeandprincessofwales such a special evening at her incredible carol service." Finally, Eugenie's message noted, "What an amazing message of love and hope."

While it's unclear why Eugenie and Beatrice both missed Kate's special event, the sisters have retreated from the royal spotlight in recent months.

In October, King Charles announced his decision to demote his brother, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, and evict him from Royal Lodge. Both Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, were forced to relinquish their official royal titles, and take a step back from royal duties. The decision was triggered by Andrew and Sarah's former connection to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Eugenie and Beatrice have retained their royal titles, and appear to have the support of King Charles and the Royal Family, in spite of the scandal facing their parents. As a result, it's entirely possible the royal sisters decided to skip Princess Kate's carol concert in 2025, in order to allow the focus to remain on the event itself.

Both Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie ordinarily attend the festive event. As reported by People, Princess Eugenie attended the carol service in 2021, 2022, and 2023, while Princess Beatrice has attended every year since the event was founded in 2021.

After Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was stripped of his titles and evicted from Royal Lodge, it's been said that King Charles and members of the Royal Family have been concerned about his mental health. Now, according to a new report in Closer magazine, Princess Beatrice is worried about how her dad will fare if mom Sarah Ferguson—who has been divorced from Andrew since 1996—finds love again.

A source told the magazine that the former Duchess of York "has been devastated by recent events, but she’s never going to give up on love." While Ferguson is reported to be considering moving into a converted cattle shed on Princess Beatrice's property, the insider said that the ex-royal is also "open about finding a proper gentleman to help her enjoy life—someone successful, kind and financially secure."

"She’s always been independent, but she knows she’s got expensive taste, and she jokes she needs a man who can keep up," the source continued. However, the insider claims that Princess Beatrice "fears how Andrew would take it" if his ex-wife found love again.

"She knows her dad would be crushed if Sarah met someone new and fears the thought of being alone will break his heart," the insider told Closer. However, the princess also "just wants her parents to find their own peace."

"They’ve been separated for decades, and clinging to the past isn’t healthy," the source added.

Although they divorced in the late '90s, Sarah and Andrew have been living together at Royal Lodge for the past two decades, and when the ex-duke moves to the Sandringham estate in the near future, it'll mark a new beginning for them both.

However, when royal author Robert Jobson was asked how the former duke and duchess were holding up, he said (per the Mirror), "Not very well, I don’t think. I believe even members of the Royal Family who have taken action are concerned about both their mental health."

Princess Kate's annual Christmas carol service is just around the corner on December 5, and amid the festive cheer at Westminster Abbey, there's also the question of whether certain members of the Royal Family will attend. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has never gone to the concert—and is understood to have never received an invitation, in any case—but his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, are regular fixtures at the Together at Christmas event.

This year, the York sisters' attendance is unclear amid dad Andrew's title-stripping scandal and eviction from Royal Lodge. Buckingham Palace announced that The King had removed the former Duke of York's titles and honors, including his prince title, on October 30. British broadcaster Neil Sean told Fox News Digital that the sisters "received personal invitations" from Princess Kate's office for this year's concert, but the situation "puts the sisters in a very difficult dilemma."

"If they don’t attend, it looks like they’re snubbing a prestigious invite," Sean said. "If they do attend, they know there could be a media circus with them at the center of attention."

In terms of the guest list, Sean added, "This is Catherine’s project, and she has the final say—very similar to the way Prince William operates Earthshot. Above all, yes, the Royal Family wants to be seen as united amid what has been a very difficult year."

While Beatrice and Eugenie have generally kept a low profile over the past month, Princess Eugenie did attend a mentoring event for The King's Foundation in mid-November. Meanwhile, Princess Beatrice took on several engagements related to Borne, the premature birth charity where she serves as patron.

According to Vanity Fair, King Charles is also considering giving his nieces more royal rules in the future, but is currently "testing the water" with public opinion.

King Charles might have stripped his brother, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, of his titles, but that doesn't mean the monarch wants his nieces out in the cold. The King is said to be considering more royal duties for Andrew's daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, as royal insiders recently told Vanity Fair.

"It was something that was being looked at before recent events but despite what has happened with Andrew, it’s not off the cards," a royal source told the publication. "Whatever people might think of Andrew, the girls are kind, hardworking and want to help if they can."

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are not working royals and hold full-time jobs, but they make occasional appearances at events and serve as patrons of various charities in their own time.

An insider added that despite reports of a negotiation with Andrew regarding his daughters, no specific conversation took place. "There was no deal struck about the future for Beatrice and Eugenie, they are private individuals in that respect, but there have been talks for some time about using them when and if there is a need," the source explained. "

"For their part, they have let it be known that they are more than willing to do public duties if and when they can to support The King," the palace insider added. This was evident on November 13 when The King's Foundation shared a social media post including photos of Princess Eugenie attending a mentoring event on behalf of the monarch.

"She was so excited to be there and seemed very proud to have been asked," one attendee told Vanity Fair.

Princess Beatrice has also accepted a new role within the Royal Family, having been announced as deputy patron of The Outward Bound Trust alongside her uncle, Prince Edward.

A source shared that The King "is fond of his nieces and doesn’t want them to suffer because of their father’s downfall.” That being said, he's reportedly "testing the water" to see what the public response is to Eugenie and Beatrice carrying out more public duties.

Vanity Fair reported that a source close to the princesses said that both Eugenie and Beatrice "recognize there is a responsibility to support their uncle and they want to support him.”

Princess Kate looked ready for a Ralph Lauren Christmas in a new green velvet gown at the 2025 Royal Variety Performance, but it was her enormous diamond chandelier earrings that truly stole the show. The Prince and Princess of Wales made their sixth appearance at the annual event, which supports the Royal Variety Charity, and for the occasion, Kate brought out all the stops in historic jewels with ties to a number of other royal women.

Nilesh Rakholia, Founder of Abelini, says that the Princess of Wales delivered a message of "royal continuity" by wearing Queen Elizabeth's Greville Chandelier Earrings to the November 19 performance. The jewels were part of a set that was handed down to the late Queen Mother after their original owner, Margaret Greville, died, and they were then gifted to Queen Elizabeth.

Also part of the Greville collection? The emerald and diamond tiara that Queen Camilla wore to Tuesday night's Diplomatic Corps Reception. Known as the Greville Emerald Kokoshnik, the tiara was famously worn by Princess Eugenie on her 2018 wedding day, with The Queen becoming only the second royal to wear the piece in public.

Rakholia says that a "comparable bespoke pair today" could "exceed £1 million, particularly if assessed for auction rather than insurance." However, the jewelry expert notes that due to the earrings' history, "their true value may be considered beyond pricing.”

Stone agreed with the million-plus evaluation, noting, "our experts estimate the sparkling earrings to be worth £1.6 million," or roughly $2 million USD.

“The center features a 93.7-carat cabochon-cut emerald, which is what makes it so valuable,” Stone explains, speaking of the enormous oval-shaped stone in the center of the tiara. Six smaller emeralds adorn the sides of the tiara, adding to its beauty and its incredible value.

“Its original owner was Dame Margaret Greville, a famous society hostess who, upon her death, left her jewels to the Queen Mother,” Stone explains of the tiara’s opulent provenance. “When the Queen Mother passed away in 2002, much of that collection, including the Kokoshnik tiara, went to Queen Elizabeth II. In 2018, the late monarch lent it to Princess Eugenie for her wedding day, making it the most extravagant “something borrowed” in royal history."

It's a choice that Kiehna called "jaw-dropping" and as my friend Lauren Parkinson put it, might just be the "plot twist of the century" in the Andrew Mountbatten Windsor scandal.

Wearing a tiara so closely associated with Princess Eugenie in the wake of her father's title-stripping and subsequent eviction from Royal Lodge seems to be a sign of support for the 35-year-old royal. Eugenie also stepped out for a mentoring event on behalf of The King's Foundation last week, with her uncle's charity sharing photos from the event on social media.

Majesty magazine editor-in-chief Ingrid Seward recently told the Sun that The King "is determined to embrace his nieces." She added, "I think that Charles feels quite responsible for these two girls, because it’s been a hideous time for them. Really hideous."

Although it seems like a subtle gesture from Camilla, choosing to wear this particular tiara during such a difficult time for Princess Eugenie says it all.

Speaking about Eugenie's appearance as a mentor for The King's Foundation "35 Under 35" Network and Princess Beatrice being appointed as deputy patron of Outward Bound, Majesty magazine editor-in-chief Ingrid Seward told the Sun that The King "is determined to embrace his nieces."

She added that the monarch seems to want to "bring them into the royal fold in a way where they don’t feel they’re just being gratuitously pulled in, but they’re actually doing something for it."

While Eugenie and Beatrice continue to attend events to support their uncle—like Royal Ascot and Buckingham Palace garden parties—they no longer join the larger family on the Trooping the Colour balcony as they once did under Queen Elizabeth's reign.

However, with Princess Eugenie's role as a King's Foundation mentor, and Princess Beatrice's new patronage with Outward Bound, it's possible the sisters could take on more duties in a non-working royal capacity. It's a move that Seward said displays "the very kind side of The King."

"I think that Charles feels quite responsible for these two girls, because it’s been a hideous time for them. Really hideous," she added. Both Beatrice and Eugenie are moms of two, and Seward said that their parents' scandals have "been very, very difficult" for their young families.

Taking on some responsibilities in the family is a way for The King "to embrace them and give them something that they can actually do, so they don’t feel that they’re just they’re lucky if they go there for Christmas lunch, sort of thing," the royal expert continued.

"They’re actually part of the royal family, and they can do their bit, which I think is important to them," Seward said. She added that Eugenie's appearance last week was a "very strong signal" from King Charles about his nieces' futures, noting, "the sins of the father are not reflected on the children."

King Charles has had an extremely busy month, which has included celebrating his 77th birthday, and demoting his brother, Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. As well as removing Andrew's official royal titles and evicting him from Royal Lodge in Windsor, King Charles has allegedly been forced to negotiate a "secret deal" with the disgraced ex-duke.

Writing for the Daily Mail, royal expert Richard Eden discussed the factors behind Andrew's announcement he'd leave Royal Lodge, despite having a "'cast-iron' legal right to remain" in the property "until 2078." As for why Andrew might have "finally caved in," having previously "resisted months of relentless pressure," Eden suggested that a "secret deal" was made between The King and the former Duke of York.

"It was agreed that not only would there be no action taken by The King against Beatrice and Eugenie…but they would be allowed to accept new official royal roles," the Daily Mail reported.

A royal source told Eden, "It is, perhaps, one of the few things that His Majesty and Andrew agree on." The source continued, "They both love Beatrice and Eugenie and want the best for them. They also agree that the princesses can play an important, helpful role in public life."

Basically, Andrew allegedly agreed to give up the majority of his royal privileges in return for the protection of his daughters.

Eden also noted that "The King had agreed to find a new home for Andrew on the private royal estates and provide him with financial compensation."

But the biggest concession Charles appears to have made regarding Andrew relates to Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. As Eden explained, "Andrew was told that both women would also retain their places in the line of succession to the throne—ninth in Beatrice's case and 12th in Eugenie's."

Royal expert Ingrid Seward agreed with Eden's summation, telling The Sun, "The King is determined to embrace his nieces…and bring them into the royal fold in a way where they don't feel they're just being gratuitously pulled in, but they're actually doing something for it."

As for why The King might have taken the decision to look out for Beatrice and Eugenie, Seward noted, "I think that Charles feels quite responsible for these two girls, because it's been a hideous time for them. Really hideous."

Princess Eugenie has returned to royal appearances for the first time since her father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, lost his titles—and King Charles is showing his support for his niece. Although Princess Eugenie is not a full-time working royal, she serves as the patron of various charities and occasionally supports The King at garden parties and other royal events. This year, Eugenie has been tasked with becoming a mentor for The King's Foundation and its "35 Under 35" network—an especially meaningful role since the princess herself turned 35 this year.

On Thursday, November 13, The King's Foundation and Princess Eugenie shared a joint Instagram post showing photos from a recent "mentoring morning" event she attended. "Earlier this week, @PrincessEugenie spent time with members of the @kingsfoundation 35 under 35 network at the @broadwicksoho, alongside a range of other inspiring mentors representing different areas of expertise," the post read.

The King's Foundation (originally The Prince's Foundation) was created to give young people training and education to find employment, especially when it comes traditional skills like millinery, woodworking, embroidery and other heritage arts. In the photos, Eugenie interacted with people taking part in the program and business leaders who attended to support the careers of group members.

Eugenie—who is still a princess despite her father's prince title being removed—dressed in a classic black suit and a white collarless shirt for the event, adding her ever-present Sophie Lis mushroom earrings and a red poppy pin on her lapel.

Jeweler Alice Fry, who is taking part in the 35 Under 35 network, commented on the post, writing, "Thank you so much @kingsfoundation and HRH Princess Eugenie @princesseugenie ! It was a pleasure to meet you and an honour to be mentored by you."

Fans also the flooded the comment section with support for Princess Eugenie, like one who wrote, "Love to see TRH Princess' Beatrice and Eugenie and hope they will have a lot more to do in their roles in future."

"A lovely lady who wrote to my granddaughter who had scoliosis surgery......her kindness is never forgotten😍," another added.

Eugenie's big sister, Princess Beatrice, also made several appearances this week on behalf of her patronage, Borne, which aims to prevent premature childbirth.

Along with visiting its laboratories and meeting researchers, Beatrice—who gave birth prematurely to her daughter, Athena, in January—also attended an event honoring the charity alongside husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi on Tuesday, November 11.

The former Prince Andrew, now known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, is set to leave Royal Lodge in Windsor for a new home in 2026. Following reports that Andrew is "terrified" about further potential "embarrassments" that may arise, it's been suggested that royal staff members have expressed concern about the former Duke of York.

A royal source told The Sun, "It is a conundrum what they do with Andrew this Christmas." Basically, it reportedly seems unlikely that the former duke will be invited to King Charles's family celebration on the Sandringham estate.

"No-one wants to be seen with him, and the family have pretty much given up on him," the source alleged. Meanwhile, Andrew's two daughters—Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie—are unlikely to be celebrating with their parents either, sources suggested.

"Beatrice and Eugenie are very likely to be at Sandringham, as they are very much still in the royal fold," the insider claimed. "Although Sarah [Ferguson, Andrew's ex-wife] is still living at Royal Lodge, she is weighing up invitations to spend it with friends including possibly going abroad."

GB News seemingly confirmed, "Royal household staff are reportedly discussing how best to ensure Andrew is not left entirely alone during the season."

"Andrew is depressed after losing his titles and being exiled from the Royal Family—so they don't want to leave him on his own," a source told The Sun.

Royal expert Ingrid Seward also commented on the issue, telling the publication, "It is a very difficult situation with Andrew and Christmas...But I cannot see them leaving him on his own—someone will scoop him up."

Barring an official announcement by the Royal Family, the public might not find out where Andrew is spending the holidays. Still, it appears as though some royal staff members are uneasy about the former duke being left without plans.

The former Prince Andrew was stripped of his titles by King Charles on October 30, and now that he's a private citizen, Andrew Mountbatten Windsor has a new life to navigate. The former Duke of York's ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, has been evicted from Royal Lodge alongside Andrew, and many have wondered what the future has in store for their daughters.

Princess Beatrice, 37, and Princess Eugenie, 35, aren't working royals, but as royal expert Robert Hardman told the Daily Mail, there's a degree of worry that their lives will be impacted by their parents' scandals.

"All along, The King and other members of the family have been concerned that the sins of the family do not befall them," Hardman said of Eugenie and Beatrice. He added, "They are blameless, they have led a pretty upright life and are level-headed and very nice young women."

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have retained their royal titles, with Hardman explaining, "They are still princesses and HRH because they are the children of the son of a reigning monarch."

The sisters both represent numerous charities, such as the Teenage Cancer Trust, but Hardman told the Daily Mail that they are "unlikely" to add "further duties" to their plates. Instead, the royal expert said he sees Eugenie and Beatrice as "essentially private citizens who are related to The King and occasionally turn up at royal events."

Even though the Duke of York title has been eliminated, Hardman noted that King Charles has put in place "new rules" to protect his nieces "as princesses of York."

On Thursday, October 30, King Charles made the unprecedented move to strip his brother, the former Prince Andrew, of all of his titles and honors, including that of prince. Now known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, the disgraced ex-Duke of York has been evicted from Royal Lodge and will be moving to the Sandringham estate in the near future. But in the wake of his downfall, there are many questions still swirling around Andrew, many of them involving his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

Bowing and curtsying is an often-discussed part of royal protocol, and since he's actually a commoner now, this means a big change is in store for Andrew. Speaking to the Daily Mail about Andrew's new life, royal biographer Robert Hardman confirmed that "yes, he probably will" need to bow to Beatrice and Eugenie, who still have royal titles.

"They are still princesses and HRH because they are the children of the son of a reigning monarch," Hardman said of Eugenie and Beatrice.

However, as the outlet reported, Hardman said the ex-duke "is unlikely to bow 'happily' and is likely dreading the moment that he will be publicly addressed as simply Andrew, rather than Prince Andrew."

Although Andrew is facing a change in protocol when it comes to bowing, Hardman said The King probably won't push for one major switch-up in the royal system. Currently, the former prince is number eight in the line of succession, and the royal biographer "noted that it would be rather unlikely that the line of succession would be modified in this instance."

University of London law lecturer recently wrote in The Conversation that "such a step would also require the approval of the 14 other countries (including Canada, Australia and Papua New Guinea) that share the British monarch as their head of state"—a move that would take up precious governmental time to prevent a situation that would almost certainly never happen.

"If the point came where the only choice was to have Andrew on the throne, I think that would be the end of the monarchy," Hardman added.

Following much speculation, King Charles issued an official statement regarding Prince Andrew's future within the Royal Family. As well as being stripped of his royal titles, Andrew will no longer be referred to as a prince, and will also be evicted from his home, Royal Lodge in Windsor. Now, a royal expert is setting the record straight on Prince William's involvement in his uncle's "banishment," including whether he "threatened" any family members in the process.

According to the Express's royal editor, Emily Ferguson, "fresh murmurings" had previously suggested that "William threatened to remove Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie's titles if they failed to persuade their father, the disgraced Prince Andrew, to move out of Royal Lodge." However, it's unclear where this rumor materialized from.

Ferguson explained, "Kensington Palace has flat-out denied that any meeting took place and any reports of threats of title loss are 'factually inaccurate.'" Following the confirmation that Beatrice and Eugenie will retain their own royal titles, it seems highly unlikely that Prince William "threatened" anyone.

It seems as though Prince William had a somewhat reduced "role" in the decision to strip Andrew of his titles and evict him from Royal Lodge. As noted by the Express, "[A]lthough his father has been keeping him up to date with negotiations, for the most part, the prince kept a healthy distance between himself and the final outcome due to his fondness for his cousins."

Throughout discussions regarding Prince Andrew's future, William has reportedly "advocated a firm approach and is said to be 'delighted' that his father finally came down on his brother with an iron fist," Ferguson wrote. But when it comes to Eugenie and Beatrice, the Prince of Wales has allegedly remained on good terms with the two princesses, and seemingly "threatened" no-one.
